The Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes addressed the possibility of facing CM Punk in a dream match, expressing uncertainty about whether the bout will ever materialize.
The match has been heavily teased since Punk returned to WWE in late 2023. The latest tease came on the Raw after WrestleMania, where Rhodes told the ‘Best In The World’ to name a time and a place for a potential showdown.
Speaking with ESPN’s TikTok, the WWE Champion acknowledged the match would be “really great” for wrestling but admitted the reality is complicated.
Rhodes Explains the Complications
Rhodes named Punk as a dream opponent but admitted putting the match together would be difficult.
“Fans think it might happen but I think is very hard to put together,” Rhodes said. “The likelihood of it happening, who knows? Wrestling has gotten more — it’s difficult, you know? We’re collaborators these days, so it’s difficult.”
“I don’t know if he’d want that and I don’t know if I’d want it,” Rhodes continued. “But, I know just it would be really great and be very good for wrestling.”
