    Willow Nightingale is injured.

The AEW TBS Champion had been announced as a participant for the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament. She was scheduled to face Alex Windsor in a first-round matchup at the Double or Nothing PPV this Sunday.

The reigning champion, however, provided some unfortunate news in a backstage segment at the latest episode of AEW Dynamite. She revealed that she suffered a shoulder injury during her match with Red Velvet at the latest episode of Collision.

As a result, Willow Nightingale announced that she is not only withdrawing from the Owen Cup, but she will also be relinquishing the TBS Championship:

Nightingale had won the championship from Mercedes Moné at the New Year’s Smash special of Dynamite last year. This ends Willow’s reign with the belt at 141 day.

There is no word on what the company is planning for the title after this unfortunate development. They have confirmed that Windsor will not be competing at the PPV, and she will instead face a wild-card opponent at a later date.

  • Mercedes Mone Loses TBS Title After Historic Run

    Mercedes Mone\’s downfall has begun.

The New Year\’s Smash special of Dynamite, coming live from Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Omaha, Nebraska, this Wednesday, December 31, saw the reigning TBS Champion defending her title against Willow Nightingale.

Nightingale had the momentum heading into the match after becoming the Inaugural Women\’s Tag Team Champions with Harley Cameron earlier this month.

The bout saw some close calls as Mercedes Mone struggled to hold onto the belt heading into the new year, including one spot when she barely got her foot on the rope after a Doctor Bomb from Willow.

In the end, however, Mone\’s efforts did not prove to be enough, and Willow Nightingale pinned her with another Doctor Bomb to end Mercedes\’ historic reign with the TBS Championship.

The former Sasha Banks sat at ringside looking shocked after the bell, as Harley Cameron joined her tag team partner in the post-match celebration. JetSpeed and Orange Cassidy were next to come out, and the show ended with AEW Women\’s Champion Kris Statlander hugging the winner.

The loss ends Mercedes Mone\’s 584-day-long run with the TBS Championship, in which she surpassed Jade Cargill\’s 508-day run. Nightingale, on the other hand, has become the first woman to get a second reign with the title since its introduction back in 2022.

  • Inaugural Women\’s Tag Champions Crowned On Dynamite

    An unexpected crowning on Dynamite.

AEW presented the annual Winter is Coming special of Dynamite from Gateway Center Arena in College Park, Georgia, tonight. The show opened with the finals of the Women\’s Tag Team Championship tournament.

The duo of Harley Cameron & Willow Nightingale squared off against Mina Shirakawa & Toni Storm in the opening match of the night. Shirakawa and Cameron started the bout, and it wasn\’t long before we got a brawl with all four contestants in the ring.

After an impressive showing, the four women once again found themselves facing each other in the ring at the same time. The Timeless Love Bombs were able to get the advantage, and Toni delivered the Storm Zero on Harley in what many thought would be the ending of the bout.

Willow, however, somehow managed to break the fall. Nightingale then brought the Timeless one out of the ring with her and took the former AEW Women\’s Champion out with a big DDT on the floor.

Back in the ring, Shirakawa continued battling Cameron and delivered a number of moves. Harley managed to stay in the match and got the upper hand with an inverted DDT at the last second. She then tagged in her partner, and Nightingale finally delivered a Doctor Bomb on Mina to get the win for her team.

The inaugural Women\’s Tag Team Champions were interviewed by Renee Paquette after the bout. The Timeless Love Bombs then congratulated them in the ring to end the segment.
