  • Trish Stratus Was ‘Blown Away’ by WWE NXT Star After Meeting

Trish Stratus Was ‘Blown Away’ by WWE NXT Star After Meeting

Trish Stratus has identified her dream opponent for a potential WWE return, and the name might surprise some fans.

Speaking with SiriusXM during WrestleMania 42 weekend in Las Vegas, Stratus was asked which current star makes her want to lace up her boots one more time. Her answer was Sol Ruca, the NXT standout who has been generating significant buzz in recent months.

“When I went to John Cena’s final match, I got to see Sol Ruca up close and personal — and I was blown away,” Stratus said. “A lot of great talent. It’s not just the talent, it’s the storyline, it’s the characters, so I need to think on that one a little bit.”

Stratus made clear that any return would need the right creative foundation rather than simply being a match for the sake of it, keeping the door open without making a firm commitment.

Ruca was one of three NXT talents, alongside Oba Femi and Je’Von Evans, that WWE chose to feature on the undercard of Cena’s final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event last December. Ruca picked up a win against Bayley on that show, a result that underlined how seriously WWE was treating her positioning heading into 2026.

On the post-WrestleMania 42 edition of Raw this past Monday, Ruca appeared on the main roster, with the appearance being viewed as part of a potential full-time call-up to Raw. She subsequently competed in a Last Woman Standing match against Zaria on NXT, though that match produced a frightening moment when Ruca took a hard fall and her head connected with a table that did not break on impact.

Stratus last competed in a WWE ring at SummerSlam 2023, making her the only woman to participate in that event’s main event.

  • Trish Stratus Reacts to Being \”Everyone\’s First Crush\”

Trish Stratus appeared on the red carpet at the WWE 2K26 Creator Fest at WWE Headquarters, and what started as a conversation about her Attitude Era cover appearance turned into one of the most moving moments of the event.

Stratus is featured on the WWE 2K26 Attitude Era Edition cover alongside Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, and other legends of the era. For her, being on a game cover again — over 20 years after her last appearance — carried personal weight she didn\’t expect.

\”The Attitude Era obviously is a special time. It gets acknowledged. It gets its props. But the fact that the women of the Attitude Era are getting their props and acknowledged as well — that\’s a big, big thing. And I\’m looking at the last time I was on a cover of the video game, it was about 20 plus years ago on Day of Reckoning, I think it was called. So I\’m on a cover again. Pretty cool.\”

\’The Last One My Mom Got to See\’

The interview took a deeply personal turn when Denise Salcedo brought up Trish\’s match with Tiffany Stratton at WWE Evolution. Stratus opened up about what that night truly meant to her.

\”It was the last [PLE] my mom got to see, and she was not doing well at the time. I remember going, \’No, I can\’t go.\’ I was going to cancel it because I thought I couldn\’t leave her and she\’s like, \’Please go.\’ And to know that she got to see me doing what she loved seeing me do — I\’m so pleased I got to do it.\”

Trish\’s mother Alice passed away in August 2025 following a battle with cancer. The Evolution match was among the final times she saw her daughter perform.

Stratus added that her in-game costume from WWE 2K26 is the same outfit she wore that night, giving the moment a kind of permanence:

\”I\’m in that outfit for the game. So it\’s kind of like it\’s immortalized, which means a lot to me.\”

She also touched on the \”My First Crush\” signing tour she\’s turned into a full business venture — leaning into the affectionate nickname fans have given her for decades.

\”I\’m still their crush. You know what I\’m saying? It wasn\’t like you were [my crush] back when you were. I\’m still their crush. That\’s what\’s cool.\”

  • WWE Rumors: Saraya Rumble Status, Saudi Rumor Killer

Happy Saturday! We’ve got Saturday Night’s Main Event, then it’s a short runway to next weekend’s Royal Rumble premium live event from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Here’s our WWE rumor roundup for January 24, 2026, running down the latest unconfirmed speculation that fans are buzzing about:

WWE Rumors: Saraya Available for Royal Rumble Return?

Speculation is building regarding a potential WWE return for Saraya. The multi-time Women’s world Champion has been actively training, shaking off ring rust, fueling the WWE rumors of an imminent comeback.

Adding fuel to the fire, Saraya\’s availability for the Royal Rumble has been confirmed. She was originally scheduled to appear at Nashville Celebrity Comic Con, which coincided with the Rumble. However, the convention has been rescheduled to February 7th and 8th, freeing up Saraya and other wrestling names like Matt and Jeff Hardy, Lita, Trish Stratus, and Kane. This WWE rumors development significantly increases the chances of seeing Saraya in the Women\’s Royal Rumble match.

Rumor Killer: 3 Saudi Arabia PLEs Planned for 2026

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that WWE is planning to run three premium live events this year, but that is not the case – and the correction comes from a very high placed source: Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority (GEA),

WWE Rumor: Major Overseas Event to Combat AEW All In?

As AEW gears up for another All In event in London, WWE rumors suggest that WWE is planning a major overseas event to directly compete with AEW\’s ticket sales.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is considering running a significant show around the same time to counter AEW\’s presence in the UK market.

Potential Booking for Styles vs. Gunther

With AJ Styles\’ career on the line against Gunther at the Royal Rumble, the outcome is uncertain. WWE rumors suggest that a potential scenario could see Styles defeating Gunther, only for Gunther to win the Royal Rumble later in the night.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a loss for Gunther “without that redemption at the end of the show makes no sense.” Winning the Royal Rumble would restore his aura heading into WrestleMania season. The logic checks out, but this one appears to be just connecting dots right now.

  • Trish Stratus On Saying No To Playboy, Not Being The \’Sex Symbol\’ Fans See

Trish Stratus has never posed for Playboy, despite the best efforts of Vince McMahon during her time working for the former WWE head. Appearing on Pod Meets World, Stratus recalled making clear that she was \”Absolutely not interested\” when the opportunity to pose for Playboy came along.

Stratus shared that McMahon \”hounded me like crazy,\” claiming that posing for the magazine would be \”a great opportunity for her.\” Stratus claimed that \”They came to me for years and years,\” but every offer made was met with a swift rebuttal.

This revelation speaks volumes about the era of WWE Stratus worked in, when female talent were prioritized for their looks over their in-ring skills. Today, Stratus stands by her decision, saying she \”can\’t even imagine\” what it\’d be like, as a mother, if images of her nude had been shared publicly.

While Stratus acknowledges that she\’s \”known as a sex symbol,\” she shared that she\’s much more of a tomboy than fans realize. Though WWE released countless images of Stratus in bikinis and lingerie during her tenure, Trish shared that this wasn\’t things she enjoyed, adding that \”it was very put on.\”

Although Trish never posed for Playboy, many WWE Superstars did during their tenures, including Torrie Wilson, Sable, Christy Hemme, Maria Kanellis, and Chyna. For Trish, she has no regrets keeping her clothes on, despite McMahon\’s claims of Playboy providing a huge opportunity to the WWE Hall of Famer.

  • Mickie James Reveals Vince McMahon Reaction To Infamous WrestleMania 22 Spot

Mickie James believes in asking for forgiveness rather than permission.

The wrestling legend recently had an interview with Chris Van Vliet. She talked about things such as getting to use her real name in WWE, being inducted in TNA Hall of Fame, and more.

During the interview, Mickie discussed her famous feud with Trish Stratus and their WrestleMania 22 match. The former Women\’s Champion dived deep into the story behind her infamous gesture during the bout that has since been deleted from WWE history. James revealed that she had gotten permission for only part of it through their agent:

\”Steve Keirn was our agent. I had asked Steve Keirn, ‘Can I lick my finger?’ Clearly, that’s not what I did. He was like, ‘Lick your finger?’ I was like, Well, yeah, I mean, I’m grabbing, wouldn’t I?

I’ve been trying to get my hands on her, you know, forever. This would be my dream come true, right? And he’s like, ‘I will see.’ I went away, and he comes back, and he goes, ‘Yeah, okay, I think you can lick your fingers.’ Fine, whatever. Sorry, Steve Keirn.\”

I Had Never Received A High Five: Mickie James

Mickie James was placed in a storyline with Trish Stratus upon her main roster debut in October 2005. Originally posing as Trish\’s biggest fan, James soon turned into an obsessed stalker. During their WrestleMania 22 Women\’s title match, Mickie grabbed Stratus\’ crotch during a spot and then proceeded to lick her finger.

The TNA Hall of Famer thought that the gesture would earn her a high five from Vince McMahon, who had never praised her performance like that before. The former WWE Chairman, however, was not as enthusiastic, and James actually was scolded by Mr. McMahon:

\”I thought in my heart and in my soul, I honestly believed I was going to walk back through that curtain, and I had never received a high five. I’d seen other women get high fives from Vince and thumbs up and all these things. I got thumbs up before. I got a few thumbs up.

I thought I was going to get the biggest hug of a lifetime, and fist bumps, maybe even a hoist on a shoulder and out the door, something for being so brilliant. It’s not what happened at all.

Go back through the curtain and Vince is pissed. He’s like, ‘That was crass! Do you know what we’re gonna have to do? How much money it’s gonna cost to edit that and to pull it from everything? We’re a publicly traded company! What are you thinking?’\”

James discussed how the scolding brought her down from the high of a lifetime. Though the former Divas champion noted that McMahon clearly did not hate her too much since she remained champion afterward. Mickie believes that deep down, he really loved the angle.

The storyline between Mickie James and Trish Stratus would continue for months after WrestleMania 22. It concluded at a Raw episode in June when James picked up a victory over her arch-rival in a Women\’s title match.

  • Trish Stratus Mourns Mother After Cancer Battle

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus is in mourning following the death of her mother following a brave battle with cancer. On Instagram, Stratus shared the news of the death of Alice Stratigeas, stating that \”my heart feels broken in a way I can’t describe.” The seven-time WWE Women\’s Champion added that \”life will never be the same\” and ended with a poignant message of \”f*** cancer.\”

Stratus had cancelled an appearance at a convention in Wales to be by her mother\’s side in her final days. Stratus\’ most recent appearance for WWE came at the Evolution 2 PLE, where she unsuccessfully challenged Women\’s Champion Tiffany Stratton.

We here at SEScoops would like to extend our condolences to Trish and her family at this sad time.

Trish Stratus has commented on her Evolution 2 performance.

The WWE Hall of Famer challenged Tiffany Stratton for the Women\’s Championship at the All-Women WWE PPV. Trish ended up receiving a standing ovation from the crowd for her performance at the show.

    — LuigiWrestling (@LuigiWrestling) July 14, 2025

During the Evolution post-show, the wrestling veteran was asked about people showing their appreciation, knowing that any performance could be her last. Trish Stratus noted how similar thoughts cross her mind every time she goes out there, and she feels blessed at being able to continue wrestling:

“I have that thought, like, ‘Is this the last time?’ Like, it could be. And the WWE Universe has been so wonderful for me and so supportive. I just feel so blessed to be able to dip my toes into the waters of the current landscape, like how lucky I am.\”

The former Women\’s Champion was later asked if we\’re going to see her again and she teased more appearances in the coming times saying, “It’s my 25th year [in wrestling], let’s make it a good one.”

During the post-show, Triple H also provided an update on Seth Rollins after his Saturday Night\’s Main Event injury. You can check out what he said here.

  • Trish Stratus Discusses Lacklustre Build For Evolution 2

Trish Stratus has commented on the rushed build to Evolution 2.

The return of the All Women PPV had been something both the fans and the female roster had been demanding for a long time. The promotion finally gave in when they announced Evolution 2, almost 7 years after the first show.

The build for the PPV has been lacklustre, however. With the officials focusing on their return to Saudi Arabia, they hadn\’t announced any main roster matches for the show until only a couple of weeks ago. The rivalries have also not been given much time to develop before the PPV.

The WWE Hall of Famer commented on this during a recent interview with NotSam Wrestling. Trish Stratus first noted how the whole match card for the PPV has been put together in a hurry:

\”This entire card has seemed to be a quick turnaround as it is unfortunately, and I get it, there’s like 7,000 events a month, it seems like.\”

    Very Boring Segment: Trish Stratus

Trish Stratus is scheduled to challenge Women\’s Champion Tiffany Stratton for her title at the PLE this Sunday. Fortunately for the two stars, WWE had teased this feud before, so their rivalry feels less rushed than some other matches on the card. The wrestling veteran noted how they\’ve had a built-in storyline for their match because their similar career paths and looks.

When asked if her brain switches to wrestling mode whenever she is back in WWE, Stratus replied positively. She said both her and Tiffany are looking to deliver in their match at the PPV even if they have not been given the best conditions to develop their story:

\”Yes, 1,000 percent and there’s a little bit of a saying, like, ‘You can only control what you can control.’ Do I wish there was a bigger build? Do I wish we had a longer segment? Do I wish we didn’t have a very boring segment last week on SmackDown? Sure (she laughed). But, it is what it is.

You get your time, you do your thing and sometimes things get thrown together. It is what it is, right? To me, the thing I control is the match. I will control the match; we will control the match. We will tell the story; we’ll control the narrative and that’s where I know I can do the work.\”

Evolution 2 will take place from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on this Sunday, July 13. You can check out which match will main event the show here.

  • Spoiler: Hall of Famer Set For Title Match At Evolution 2 After SmackDown Return

A WWE Hall of Famer is set for Evolution 2.

The company presented this week\’s episode of Raw from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They also taped Friday\’s SmackDown on the same day, and the show featured some exciting segments.

One such segment saw Jade Cargill confronting the Women\’s Champion Tiffany Stratton, after winning the Queen of The Ring tournament. The Champion, however, ended up giving a big surprise to fans, and she introduced a returning Trish Stratus.

This led to the wrestling legend announcing her first singles match since 2023, confirming that she\’ll be challenging Tiffany for the title at Evolution 2.

Stratus was part of the 2025 Women\’s Royal Rumble. She also teamed with Stratton to take on Candice LeRae & Nia Jax at the Elimination Chamber PPV from Canada earlier this year.

This is the fifth match that has been announced for the upcoming show. Jordynne Grace previously won a fatal four-way to earn a shot at Jacy Jayne\’s NXT Women\’s title at the event.

Rhea Ripley is set to challenge IYO SKY for the women\’s title at the show while Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez will be defending the tag titles in a fatal four-way match. Apart from this, a battle royal has been announced with the winner receiving a title shot at Clash In Paris on August 31.

  • WWE Hall Of Famer Set To Appear On Raw

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus is in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the site of tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw, and is expected to appear on the broadcast. According to a report from PWInsider.com, Stratus is there to initiate a new storyline.

The purpose of her appearance is reportedly to set up a program that will culminate in a match at the upcoming Evolution 2 Premium Live Event on July 13.

Stratus’s most recent run in WWE took place in 2023, where she turned heel and entered into an extended feud with Becky Lynch. That storyline, which saw Stratus align with Zoey Stark, concluded with Lynch defeating Stratus in a steel cage match at the Payback PLE last September.

Her potential return comes on a night where Raw GM Adam Pearce and SmackDown GM Nick Aldis are already scheduled to make a joint announcement about the Evolution 2 event.

  • Dominik Mysterio Shares Throwback Moment with Trish Stratus

On WWE TV, Dominik Mysterio has made clear that he doesn\’t like many people, and while Liv Morgan is among those he does like, Trish Stratus is another woman he holds in high regard. On X, the reigning Intercontinental Champion shared that he and Stratus had recreated a photo from his youth. In both photos, Stratus is holding Mysterio in her arms. Mysterio added that Stratus is the \”best thing to ever come out of Canada.\”

The side-by-side shots offer a heartfelt look at how far Mysterio has come in his WWE journey, and highlight Stratus’ longstanding support of the second-generation star. Not just known as the child of one of the greatest of all time, Dominik continues to establish his own name in wrestling away from his father.

Mysterio captured the Intercontinental title at WrestleMania 41, the \’Dirty\’ Superstar\’s first taste of singles gold with WWE. Time will tell how long he remains champion, but Trish Stratus is behind Mysterio all the way.

  • Another WWE Hall Of Famer Reportedly Returning To Television

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus is reportedly set to return to television on next week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. According to a report from WrestleVotes, the seven-time Women’s Champion will be back on the blue brand, likely to begin a storyline for the upcoming Evolution 2 all-women\’s premium live event next month.

Stratus, who retired from full-time competition in 2006, has made several appearances in 2025. She competed in the Royal Rumble match and teamed with Tiffany Stratton to defeat Nia Jax and Candice LeRae at Elimination Chamber.

Her rumored return follows that of another Hall of Famer, Nikki Bella, who appeared on the June 9 edition of Raw. That segment saw Nikki confronted by Women\’s Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan, ending with Nikki being laid out. Nikki later confirmed on social media she would be back on Raw for revenge.

“Annnnd still feeling that ObLIVion… Ooooh Bella Army I can’t wait for Green Bay this Monday!! So grateful for all of you!! It’s just the beginning!” Nikki posted on Instagram.

The return of multiple Hall of Famers suggests WWE is building a stacked card for the Evolution 2 event. There have been no reports of who Stratus could work with at the show.

  • Trish Stratus Joins Cathy Kelley for Karate Ghost Comedy Movie

Trish Stratus has joined the cast of a new movie in the works, a role that could see her share the screen alongside WWE correspondent Cathy Kelley. Stratus will be a part of the upcoming action-comedy Karate Ghost which is currently in production in Stratus\’ native Canada. A press release reads:

\”Trish Stratus stars as Susan Fanshawe, an overenthusiastic pageant-queen-turned-karate-mom whose obsession with martial arts puts her daughter’s dreams in a chokehold. Think a pom-pom-wielding Miss America, with a black belt.\”

Karate Ghost is set to have a festival premiere and theatrical release slated for early 2026. The film will also feature David Koechner (Anchorman, The Office), and Steve Howey (Shameless, True Lies), and Jim Belushi among a stacked cast of actors.

  • From Trish to Tiffy: Charlotte Flair Talks Mentorship and Carrying the Torch

Charlotte Flair is firmly in the prime of her career. Once tasked with living up to the legacy of Ric Flair, she’s long since stepped out of her father’s shadow to forge a Hall of Fame-worthy path of her own. Along the way, she’s not only become one of the most decorated women in WWE history, but has also transitioned from rising star to standard-bearer—shifting from student to teacher.

In a recent interview with Alex McCarthy for Daily Mail, Flair reflected on her pivotal matches with wrestling legends and her role in mentoring emerging talents like Tiffany Stratton. Flair drew parallels between her 2019 SummerSlam bout with Trish Stratus and her current storyline with Stratton, emphasizing the responsibility she feels in shaping the next generation of WWE superstars.

    Trish Stratus

Recalling her match with Stratus, Flair shared:

\”In 2019, Trish Stratus wanted to come back, and I kept thinking to myself, \’Trish Stratus wants to come back and wrestle me.\’ I have to be as good as she thinks I am; I can\’t be less than. Charlotte Flair is that good that I have to come back.\”

    Tiffany Stratton

This sentiment resonates in her current feud with Tiffany Stratton. Flair recognizes the significance of being the benchmark for up-and-coming wrestlers:

\”This is a similar situation. I am going to be as good as everyone thinks I am, and now I feel like I\’m even that much better because 2024 did kick my ass and it did give me the clarity and it did like the spark like no, my career is on my time and I\’m coming for everything. I\’ve done my homework.\”

Flair\’s commitment to excellence not only cements her legacy but also sets a high standard for newcomers like Stratton, ensuring the evolution and continuity of women\’s wrestling.

At WWE Elimination Chamber: Toronto, Trish Stratus made her in-ring return to team with Tiffany Stratton. Together, the pair defeated Candice LeRae and Nia Jax, extending Stratus\’ tag-team streak in Canada to 8-0.

Speaking after her match, Stratus recalled training with the WWE Women\’s Champion ahead of their match in the Rogers Centre.

\”We clicked from the beginning, and we\’ve been really working together. We had this opportunity to team up, so we took advantage of it and we made sure we were in sync and we trained together, we did yoga together, preparing for this moment.\”

Stratton is the latest high-profile name Stratton has worked with in the ring, a list that includes the likes of Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. The Hall of Famer is pleased that years after her full-time career ended, she is able to keep up with generation after generation of talent.

\”I had a chance to mix it up with Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, that generation. Now [I\’ve] had a chance to work with the next generation, that\’s not lost on me. It\’s pretty special.\”

2025 marks a quarter-century since Trish Stratus debuted in WWE as the manager of Test and Albert. It remains to be seen what Trish does next in the ring, but working with the top stars of WWE\’s women\’s division decade after decade isn\’t lost on the Hall of Famer.

Stratus recently discussed the possibility of squaring of against an undeniable future Hall of Famer in AEW\’s Mercedes Mone, formerly Sasha Banks in WWE. The two fighters briefly crossed back nearly six years ago at the 2018 Royal Rumble, but outside of that, they have never faced one another in singles action.

\”People never thought I’d ever come back for another match… But then, you know, (Banks) left.\”
