  • Triple H Takes Over WWE Creative

WWE executive Paul Levesque (Triple H) has assumed \”all responsibilities related to WWE\’s creative,\” the company announced Monday morning.

Vince McMahon\’s retirement on Friday has sent shockwaves throughout the wrestling world. It\’s led to a significant shakeup to WWE\’s management structure, with Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan serving as co-CEO\’s.

Prior to the Vince retirement announcement, WWE announced Levesque was appointed as the new head of Talent Relations. In a press release about his new role, Levesque stated,

“I look forward to returning to my prior position as head of Talent Relations. I’m healthy, fired up, and ready to take charge.\”

Triple H Assumes Control of WWE Creative

In a press release sent out Monday morning, WWE and its Board of Directors addressed the updated management structure:

WWE & BOARD OF DIRECTORS ANNOUNCE NEW CO-CEOS STEPHANIE MCMAHON AND NICK KHAN

WWE (NYSE: WWE) and its Board of Directors today announced the appointment of Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan as co-Chief Executive Officers. Ms. McMahon has also been appointed Chairwoman of the Board, and Mr. Khan will continue to serve as a member of the Board. These appointments follow Vince McMahon’s retirement announcement on Friday, July 22.

We are grateful for the opportunity to lead WWE together with our unmatched management team,” said Ms. McMahon and Mr. Khan. “We recognize this is a tremendous opportunity and responsibility, and we look forward to serving the WWE Universe.”

Additionally, WWE executive Paul Levesque will assume all responsibilities related to WWE’s creative, in addition to his regular duties.\"

Monday’sRaw will be the first broadcast under the new creative regime headed by Paul Levesque.

  • Paul \”Triple H\” Levesque Is Back As EVP, Talent Relations

On July 22, WWE made a major announcement revealing that Triple H is back.

WWE sent out a press release announcing that Paul “Triple H” Levesque has returned to his executive position as EVP, Talent Relations.

    WWE said:

STAMFORD, Conn., July 22, 2022 – WWE today announced that effective immediately, Paul Levesque will resume his executive position as EVP, Talent Relations.

“I look forward to returning to my prior position as head of Talent Relations. I’m healthy, fired up, and ready to take charge,” said Levesque.

    Triple H\’s Time Away

In the fall of 2021, Triple H left his duties as NXT producer to take care of his health issues. This included undergoing a successful procedure following a cardiac event.

During his time away, NXT rebranded to NXT 2.0 with more focus on newer talent and a brighter display. He did make on-screen appearances at NXT Stand & Deliver and night two of WrestleMania 38.

In March, Triple H announced his in-ring retirement and detailed his health scare from viral pneumonia.

  • Chris Jericho Reveals His Funny Nickname For Triple H

Chris Jericho and Triple H were heated rivals in WWE for most of their careers in the promotion. They most notably feuded in 2002 when they headlined WrestleMania 18 for the WWE Title and later worked inside Hell in a Cell.

Although they had moments of animosity behind the curtain, it didn’t stop Jericho from having fun at the expense of Triple H.

During an appearance on the “True Geordie” podcast, the AEW star discussed the nickname he had once bestowed upon Triple H.

“I used to call Triple H ‘Prince Charles,\’” Jericho said. “Prince Charles [isn’t] king, right, until the Queen passes away. And she’s been there 30, 40 years. She ain’t going anywhere. Triple H is the Prince Charles of wrestling in that he’s supposed to take it over, but it might be a long time. I think Vince [McMahon] is 78, so it could be another 20 years. And he’s not going anywhere. I don’t think Vince will ever give up the throne.”

For years, Triple H has long been considered a potential successor for his father-in-law, Vince McMahon. A decade ago, he started spending more time at WWE Headquarters instead of on the road, where he transitioned into being an executive.

He has served as Executive Senior Advisor, Executive Vice President, Talent and Live Events, Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative, and in his current role as Executive Vice President, Global Talent Strategy & Development.

Triple H also launched NXT and transformed their developmental program, although his power with the brand has declined following his health issues last year.

  • Update on Triple H\’s WWE Role

For years, Triple H was in charge of WWE NXT, and brought the brand to it\’s arguable peak of popularity.

It was under the watchful eye of \”The Game\” that the brand became to many fans, the best part of WWE, with Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Finn Balor all getting their WWE starts in NXT.

    Not in Charge

Triple H recently appeared at the WWE Performance Center, and told those around that he was \”back.\”

It was believed that Triple H was alluding to a return to NXT, which was taken over by his father-in-law in late 2021.

Since then though, reports have come out that Triple H is not set to take control of NXT again as fans had hoped.

Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Triple H\’s speech to those at the Performance Center was not about his NXT work at all.

\”It appears that when Paul \’Triple H\’ Levesque was talking to the folks at NXT and said he was back, and nobody knew what that meant, it appeared just to mean he’s back working in the office. He has not been doing anything direct with NXT, which is still being run by Shawn Michaels with a small creative staff for television. Levesque has not been at the Tuesday night tapings.\”

Triple H\’s wife Stephanie McMahon is the interim WWE CEO and Chairman, having replaced her father Vince McMahon due to the ongoing investigation into him.

  • The McMahons & Pat McAfee Show up to UFC 276

Last night was WWE Money in the Bank 2022, the latest Premium Live Event by the company and the first of the Stephanie McMahon era.

The show saw Liv Morgan and Theory capture the two titular Money in the Bank briefcases, with Morgan cashing in hours later to win the SmackDown Women\’s Championship.

Even without names like Brock Lesnar, Cody Rhodes or Roman Reigns, Money in the Bank was a huge event, but it wasn\’t the only big show around.

    The McMahons at UFC

Money in the Bank 2022 aired from Las Vegas, as did the recent UFC 276 show.

Given that the two shows were so close, several names from WWE made the trip and were spotted in attendance for the mixed-martial-arts Pay Per View.

Vince McMahon, Triple H, Interim WWE Chairwoman and CEO Stephanie McMahon and Pat McAfee were all present on camera and seemed pleased to be there.

The UFC Europe account later tweeted about the four WWE personalities at the event.

    Stephanie\’s Busy Night

Stephanie McMahon was at UFC 276, but that was just part of a full night for the WWE Chairwoman.

According to WrestleVotes, McMahon was also present at Money in the Bank 2022, and had a meeting with talent before the show got started.

It\’s reported that the Interim WWE CEO met with stars at the MGM Grand Arena to discuss a multitude of topics, though WrestleVotes didn\’t confirm what was said specifically.

One source said that the meeting between McMahon and her employees was \”generally well-received.\”

  • Triple H Appears to Have Gained More Power in WWE Again

It seems Triple H has some level of power in WWE again.

At one point, it seemed like Hunter would be the one to take over once Vince McMahon\’s time is up. He ran NXT to his liking and the brand garnered huge praise.

Triple H ran into problems when WWE wanted NXT to go head-to-head with AEW. NXT was often beat in viewership and \”The Game\’s\” power soon dwindled.

Once the WWE legend suffered from heart failure, his entire NXT team was pretty much gutted. It seemed like it was a point of no return in terms of HHH\’s power within the company but things may be turning a corner.

Triple H May Have Gained Back Power

It was reported by John Pollock that during a recent visit to the WWE Performance Center, Triple H declared that he\’s back.

Details have been scarce on exactly had that means. With that said, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer says that it would appear Triple H has gained some power within the company again.

What that exactly entails going forward remains to be seen.

Of course, this is all happening in the midst of an investigation into Vince McMahon\’s alleged secret $3 million hush pact with a former employee. Vince has voluntarily stepped back as the CEO and Chairman of WWE.

With that said, Vince still runs creative.

  • Triple H Makes Major Statement During WWE PC Visit

Triple H may have just given a big update on his future with WWE.

\”The Game\” has been dealing with health issues, which forced him to retire from in-ring action. He has a defibrillator in his chest due to heart failure and many have questioned whether or not he can take on a potentially stress-inducing role behind the scenes ever again.

While details are scarce at this time, Triple is said to have made quite the statement during a recent visit to the WWE Performance Center.

    Triple H Says He\’s Back

John Pollock of POST Wrestling is reporting that Triple H spoke while inside the WWE PC on June 22. It\’s been said that \”The Game\” declared he\’s \”back,\” although exactly what he means by that remains to be seen.

\”According to multiple sources, Paul Levesque was in Orlando today and spoke at the Performance Center. Of the people I heard from, Levesque stated \’he\’s back\’ – it is unknown what that entails but that was the wording I was given.\”

Many have speculated that this is in regards to a potential return on the creative side of things for NXT 2.0. When Hunter was forced to step away due to health issues, his NXT team was gutted and the vision was changed.

The show has been doing far worse in viewership than it was when Triple H was at the helm. The whole point of the change, however, was to make the NXT brand a true developmental system to build the type of characters Vince McMahon would want on the main roster.

It\’s pretty much certain that Hunter isn\’t talking about an in-ring return. As one would imagine, WWE\’s medical team wouldn\’t clear him to have another match.

  • WWE Rumor Killer on Stephanie McMahon & Triple H

A big rumor has been making rounds regarding Stephanie McMahon and Triple H and it\’s time to put it to rest.

Last week brought a firestorm of news in the wrestling business. WWE, in particular, was under a microscope following a report from The Wall Street Journal.

After news broke that the WWE board is investigating Vince McMahon for an alleged secret $3 million pact with a former employee, the company announced that Stephanie is now the interim CEO and Chairwoman of the company.

Fans noticed something in the press release and it started the rumor mill.

No, Stephanie & Triple H Have Not Split

In the official WWE presser, Stephanie was referred to as \”Ms. McMahon\” rather than \”Mrs. McMahon.\” This led some to believe that Stephanie and Triple H may have quietly split from their longtime marriage.

Wade Keller of PWTorch is reporting that this simply isn\’t true. In fact, sources told Wade that the two very much continue to be a \”team.\”

The source also told Keller that when Stephanie stepped back, Triple H actually reduced his hours in the company.

Stephanie is said to have taken the leave of absence in part due to the age of their kids and the fact that they are well off as far as money is concerned.

Wade also dismissed the notion that Stephanie initially took a leave of absence because she knew about the investigation on Vince.

  • Cody Rhodes to be Treated like WWE Hall of Famer Upon Return

Cody Rhodes isn\’t expected back on WWE TV for months following his torn pectoral muscle suffered while training.

Despite the injury, Rhodes muscled through to defeat Seth Rollins at WWE Hell in a Cell 2022 in one of the gutsiest performances of his career.

On the Raw after Hell in a Cell, Rhodes was written off TV by a sledgehammer attack by Rollins.

Losing Rhodes is a huge blow to WWE who have made him the de facto face of the company since returning at WrestleMania 38, but the \”American Nightmare\” can expect a huge push upon his return.

Cody Rhodes – The New Triple H

A new report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that there\’s been talk about giving Cody a huge return, akin to Triple H in early 2002.

After \”The Game\” tore his quadriceps in mid-2001, he was out for months and had a lot of build to his January 2002 return.

WWE\’s production team filmed Triple H\’s surgery and recovery, with weeks of promotional videos hyping his return.

Triple H eventually returned to a thunderous response inside Madison Square Garden and captured the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 18.

Similarly, WWE reportedly recorded the entirety of Cody\’s surgery and plans on using the footage in promotional packages.

Despite WWE reporting that he will be out for nine months, Cody is expected to return much sooner, and could be a selling point for the 2023 Royal Rumble.

The 2002 Rumble match marked Triple H\’s first televised match back from his injury and he would win the 30-man bout.

  • Details on Who Could Take Over WWE Booking if Vince McMahon is Out

It\’s been a wild turn of events for Vince McMahon and WWE.

The Wall Street Journal recently dropped a bombshell report of an investigation. McMahon allegedly made a secret $3 million hush pact who a former employee. Vince supposedly had an affair with the ex-employee.

WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis may also be in hot water. The report notes that Vince allegedly passed the ex-employee to Laurinaitis \”like a toy.\”

The investigation is being conducted by the board of World Wrestling Entertainment Inc.

    Vince McMahon\’s Potential Replacement

The belief is that this could be the greatest threat to Vince McMahon\’s power in WWE since the 1994 steroid trial. While Vince was facing prison time for that trial, this current situation is still serious and pressure could mount on the WWE Chairman.

During a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that there are two key people to look out for should Vince McMahon actually be forced to step down.

Bruce Prichard has been described as the \”number two guy\” in WWE right now in terms of booking the shows. Meltzer notes that many within the company don\’t believe Bruce would be able to fill Vince\’s shoes due to health problems and other things.

Triple H is still in play as well. He also has had some major health issues and many wonder if he should even take on such a role if offered. Of course, his vision for NXT being dismantled has many skeptical that he\’d be the first choice to take over the booking.

PWInsider is reporting that WWE is taking the \”business as usual\” approach for the June 17 episode of SmackDown. The WWE crew has been informed that Vince McMahon will be at the show.

  • Road Dogg Addresses Rumors About His WWE Release

Brian \’Road Dogg\’ James is one of the most prominent backstage figures released by WWE this year. Some people wondered if his departure was related to Triple H losing power in the company.

The Game had to step away from WWE due to heart issues last year. The company has revamped the NXT brand since then and released numerous key members of his team.

Road Dogg addressed the rumors of his release being related to it during an interview with ITRWrestling.com. He noted how WWE released over a dozen people on the day he was let go and it probably saved the company $5 to $10 million per year:

\”So from a business perspective, ‘Hey, we got to trim some fat down there.’ Now, if by trimming that fat, my name came into play because I was a Hunter guy. I can’t speak to that and I don’t think that would be the case.\”

Per Road Dogg, the officials must have decided to just cut down people who were making the most money. He also revealed that he talked to Vince McMahon after his WWE release and thanked him:

\”These are the people that are making the most money, to be quite honest with you, but how else do we trim the fat? Vince and I spoke after that via text and it’s all gravy, I thanked him for the ten years of life experience and ten years’ worth of pay.”

  • Triple H Attends Declan McMahon\’s High School Graduation (Photos)

Triple H recently attended the graduation ceremony of his nephew, Declan McMahon, the son of brother-in-law Shane McMahon.

Declan graduated from the Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn. During his time there, he played football for the school, at positions such as running back and quarterback. Now, he\’ll head to Indiana University, where he\’ll also play football.

Recently, Declan took to Instagram to share some photos from his graduation ceremony, where he posed with uncle Triple H. Check out the photos here.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/CehgKlULzTw/

As for Declan\’s father, Shane, he\’s currently on the outs in WWE. This began back in January at the Royal Rumble. Shane took a lot of heat for his part in helping produce the Men\’s Royal Rumble.

Shane was actually involved in the match. Plans for Shane to face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania, as well as being part of the Elimination Chamber match this past February, were scrapped.

He also reportedly pushed to work with Theory at WrestleMania 38, with Vince McMahon also being involved, however, those plans ultimately ended up with Pat McAfee. Declan\’s aunt, Stephanie McMahon, recently decided to take time off from the company.

Stephanie McMahon announced a leave of absence to spend more time with her family, leading to WWE searching for a replacement for her position. Her husband, Triple H, is now back with WWE full-time.

\”The Game\” did deal with a health scare earlier this year, which forced him to retire from in-ring competition. He later revealed that he was dealing with affects from pneumonia and heart complications.

  • AEW Star Admits Paying Homage to Triple H on TV

One AEW star has confirmed suspicion from fans that he\’s been paying homage to Triple H.

On the April 22 episode of Rampage, fans noticed something interesting about the attire of one particular star. This athlete went one-on-one with Eddie Kingston but he was rocking a Kangol hat during his entrance.

Many assumed this was a tribute to \”The Game.\”

    Daniel Garcia Pays Homage

As it turns out, Daniel Garcia was indeed rocking the Kangol hat in honor of WWE legend Triple H. Here\’s what Garcia said about the entrance attire during an appearance on Talk is Jericho.

“In real life, I’m really into streetwear and workwear, stuff like that. I wear really baggy clothing, but I knew I couldn’t do baggy pants and a baggy shirt. I know I would look like 120 lbs soaking wet.

\”So I figured ‘Okay, I can keep the baggy pants because I just look better in that. I’ll just wear a tight tank top or top as if I took a baggy shirt off.’

\”But then one day, I can’t remember exactly what it was, what made me think of it, but I just thought to myself ‘Man, Triple H used to always wear that backward leather hat.’ I was like ‘He always used to wear that backward leather hat.’

\”And it’s funny because, on my Snapchat, something popped up at my wrestling school that I train at. My trainer has a Shawn Michaels costume from the 90s, and it came with the leather hat.

\”And I, this is my first couple months of training, I put it on backward and I’d do Triple H impressions at the gym.\”

  • William Regal Recalls Telling Hall of Famer to Jump from WCW to WWE

William Regal has said he encouraged Triple H to jump from WCW to WWE, helping to kickstart a lengthy, successful career with the company for the \”King of Kings.\”

Speaking on the very first episode of the Gentleman Villian podcast, Regal said that while he was locked into a deal with the Atlanta-based promotion, he knew the future WWE World Champion would do better elsewhere:

\”There was an offer for me to go at the time but I had a guaranteed contract with WCW and they were very good to me… I said no [to WWE], but what [Triple H] needed to do is go to WWE. Because what he needed is what I had had for the last 10 years, he needed to work 200+ days a year.

\”He had all the skills there, but you get better at wrestling [when you find] what you’re good at, what you’re bad at. You make mistakes and rectify those problems and you try and work on them, and the experience makes you a better talent. He went [to WWE]. We always kept in touch.\”

\” I said no [to WWE], but what [Triple H] needed to do is go to WWE.\”

William Regal on encouraging Triple H to go to WWE.

Triple H signed with WWE in 1995, turning down an offer to have his WCW contract renewed.

In his biography \’Making the Game\’ Triple H claims that then-WCW talent head Eric Bischoff could not understand the decision to join WWE where he\’d have to work more dates.

Regal would join the promotion in 1998 but was released due to his substance abuse problems.

He would later be rehired in 2000 where he remained until his release earlier this year.

WWE President Nick Khan will be taking over most of Stephanie’s duties.

    Triple H Update

Triple H has been on his own leave since September 2021, when he suffered a \’cardiac vent\’ that almost took his life.

  • Kevin Owens: I Wouldn\’t Be Here Without Triple H

Kevin Owens doesn\’t think he\’d be where he\’s at in his professional wrestling career without Triple H.

Owens was recently interviewed by TalkSport, and during the conversation, touched on \”The Game\’s\” impact on his career. \”KO\” had nothing but praise for Triple H, saying he\’s all about growing the industry and giving people a chance.

“I wouldn’t be here without him That’s all that comes to it. When you say full stop, that really is it. Nobody has done more for me than Triple H in my career.

\”There was always this reputation about him, right? I always thought he was really good at what he did and to me, he always elevated the shows he was on and the people he was working with so I never really got that vibe of the reputation.

\”I wasn’t surprised when I met him that he was a guy who was all about growing the industry and giving people a chance.

\”He proved my assumptions right many times over the past few years and a lot of us – a lot of us – wouldn’t be here without him.”

Triple H was a big part of Owen\’s first World Championship victory storyline. In August of 2016, Triple H turned on Seth Rollins to assist Kevin Owens in winning the Universal Championship.

It was Owens\’ first World Title victory in WWE. Since, Owens has gone on to do a tremendous amount under the WWE banner. He\’s a two-time Intercontinental Champion, a three-time United States Champion, and, as aforementioned, an ex-WWE Universal Champion.

Owens was also one-half of one of the most iconic segments in WrestleMania history. At WrestleMania 38 in Dallas, Texas, Owens welcomed WWE Hall Of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin back to the ring.

\”KO\” and Austin competed in a No Holds Barred match to close out Night One of \”The Show Of Shows.\” The pair put on an extremely entertaining segment on \”The KO Show,\” which led to Owens challenging Austin to a match.

When it was all said and done, Owens was defeated by Austin. However, it\’s a moment Owens will cherish for the rest of his career.

  • Drew McIntyre Hoped To Have WrestleMania Match With Triple H

WWE superstar Drew McIntyre says he pitched to have a matchup with Triple H at this year\’s WrestleMania 38.

The Scottish Warrior revealed during an interview with TalkSport that without the Game\’s assistance he would not have returned to WWE back in 2017, a run that saw McIntyre become NXT champion, Raw tag champion, a Royal Rumble winner, and a two-time WWE champion.

\”He’s the reason I’m back in WWE 100 percent. My mind was set at the time when I wasn’t going to re-sign with IMPACT that I’m going to Japan.\”

McIntyre later elaborates on the pitch he made to face the Cerebral Assassin at the Showcase of the Immortals, stating that it\’s unfortunate he had to retire for health reasons but is happy that he\’s going to be okay for his family.

“I wanted a match (with Triple H). It’s unfortunate it won’t happen but I’m just glad he’s healthy for himself and his family. I pitched (a match) at every opportunity I could. How about us at WrestleMania? ‘What’s the story?’ [Triple H said] and I’d say ‘What’s the story? We’ll figure it out, but what about you and me at WrestleMania?!’ How awesome would that be.\”

This wouldn\’t have been the first time this duo stood across the ring from each other, but a proper singles-matchup at this point is off the table. McIntyre does recall in the interview the few times he got to share the ring with Triple H, and what a pro he is, even calling him a general in the ring.

\”It was cool to go back and forth a little bit and you understand just how good he is, what a ring general he is. You can see watching, but you don’t know until you’re in there with them just how good. Just some interactions during an 8-man tag in Japan I could tell like ‘wow, he’s really frigging good.\’\”

McIntyre seems to be headed towards another showdown with Roman Reigns at WWE\’s upcoming Clash at the Castle pay-per-view, their first major event in the U.K. in over three decades.

  • Triple H Reacts to 20-Year Anniversary Of Batista\’s WWE Debut

Triple H has taken to Twitter to pay homage to the 20-year anniversary of his good friend, Batista\’s, WWE debut.

On May 9, 2002, Batista made his WWE TV debut on SmackDown as Deacon Batista, an enforcer for Reverend D-Von. Nobody knew at the time that Batista would go on to become one of the WWE\’s biggest and most accomplished stars of all time.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/CdVukPxOXum/

Triple H, Batista\’s longtime friend and former Evolution stablemate, has taken to Twitter to offer his reaction to the 20-year anniversary of Batista\’s WWE debut.

\”In the 20 years since @DaveBautista was first introduced to the @WWE Universe, he has never stopped growing and evolving. A main event player, multi-time champion and Hollywood star, one thing has stayed the same: he never stopped chasing his dreams. Congratulations Dave!\”

Throughout his time with WWE, Batista was able to rack up six World Title runs. He has shared the ring with some of the biggest performers in WWE history; such as John Cena, The Undertaker, Triple H, and so many more. Batista is also a four-time Tag Team Title winner and a two-time Royal Rumble winner.

Batista left WWE as a full-time performer in 2010, instead venturing off into the acting world. He certainly found some success in front of the camera, landing major roles in projects such as the Marvel Cinematic Universe\’s \”The Guardians Of The Galaxy,\” \”Army Of The Dead,\” \”See,\” and much more.

He also tried his hand in mixed martial arts (MMA), taking a pro MMA fight in 2012 at heavyweight. Batista actually won the fight via first round knockout under the CES MMA banner. It was \”The Animal\’s\” first and only MMA fight to this day.

Batista has since returned to WWE a handful of times for short programs, including his latest against Triple H in 2019. Putting his career on the line against Triple H at WrestleMania 35, Batista was defeated and later announced his retirement from professional wrestling.

  • AEW Star Says Triple H Refused To Let Him Follow Scripted Promos In NXT

AEW star Shane \’Swerve\’ Strickland has said that Triple H refused to let him follow scripted word-for-word promos as part of WWE NXT.

Strickland joined WWE\’s third brand in 2019, becoming a one-time NXT North American Champion, but was released weeks into his main-roster call up in November 2021.

Speaking on Talk is Jericho this week, Strickland discussed working with the Game, saying:

\”We did Great American Bash and we [Strickland and Leon Ruff] had a blow-off match. That\’s when Hit Row was introduced. I was cutting promos in the studio backstage and Triple H was like \’Nope – take away the script. Don\’t let him use the script anymore.\’ So I was like \’cool\’.\”

WWE\’s policy is for promos to be written ahead of time by the creative team and for Superstars to recite these promos verbatim.

The company has been heavily criticized for this approach, with fans and wrestlers alike arguing that this stifles the creativity of the Superstars.

Triple H ran NXT until the show\’s rebrand as NXT 2.0 in September 2021 and has recently been recovering from a cardiac event.

Strickland joined AEW at Revolution 2022 in March and most recently faced Darby Allin on last week\’s Rampage in a losing effort.

In addition to WWE and AEW, Strickland has worked for Lucha Underground and MLW, and is a former World Heavyweight Champion of the latter.

  • W. Morrissey Once Infuriated Triple H Over A Promo

    W. Morrissey has reflected on the time Triple H was none too pleased with him over a promo that wasn\’t in the script.

Morrissey performed as \”Big Cass\” under the WWE banner. He teamed with Enzo Amore and there was a time when the team received red hot crowd reactions. Eventually, the two were split and their WWE careers never quite took off like many were hoping.

    W. Morrissey Leaves Triple H Fuming

During an appearance on The Sessions with Renee Paquette, W. Morrissey revealed that the decision he and Enzo made to sing a Frank Sinatra song at SummerSlam got them an earful from Triple H due to concerns of copyright (h/t Wrestling Inc).

“Creatively, it was just a new set of talent to work with, to do promos with. We got to do things with the New Day, which was awesome to kind of feed off of other tag teams and have fun with that. We did the one segment with the New Day overseas in the UK, and it’s just a totally different ballgame. NXT is, I guess it’s less worrisome, it’s less nervewracking, and it’s not as big of a deal. When you get to WWE, it’s kind of like everything you do is a big deal and it could have consequences. We messed up a few times.

“I can think of one time when we really messed up. We went off-script at Summerslam in Brooklyn and sang a Frank Sinatra song. You can’t sing or imitate things that are copyrighted. That was a stern talking too. He was furious, Hunter. We didn’t know. We didn’t know those sorts of things.

“I think everything is amplified and it’s so much bigger, and the magnitude of things you do and the consequences of the things you do are way bigger. That’s something that maybe, in the moment, I didn’t realize. But you’re on live television. If you mess up or do something that can cost the company, that’s on you. It’s way bigger, it comes with a lot more money and a lot more glory, whatever you want to call it, but you have to watch yourself a lot more.”

Morrissey currently works for Impact Wrestling. It has been heavily implied that Wardlow\’s mystery opponent for the May 4 episode of AEW Dynamite will be Morrissey. Impact and AEW have worked together in the past, so this wouldn\’t be surprising to many.

Kingston teased attacking Garcia after the match but he looked into the camera and said he was saving the beatdown for Chris Jericho.

  • Undertaker, Triple H & Stephanie McMahon Wish Tyson Fury Good Luck

Tyson Fury has received some warm messages from WWE legends ahead of his showdown with Dillian Whyte.

Fury will put his WBC and The Ring Heavyweight Titles on the line against Dillian Whyte today (April 23). The action will be held inside Wembley Stadium in London, England.

Tyson Fury Receives Good Luck Messages

Through WWE on BT Sport, Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, and The Undertaker have sent Tyson Fury some good vibes going into another title defense.

Stephanie got things started, saying the buzz is giving her Summerslam 1992 chills all over again.

\”Tyson, it\’s Stephanie McMahon and of course, Triple H from WWE. You know, I remember the last time WWE had a big stadium event in Wembley and it was Summerslam 1992. But I\’ll never forget what it felt like, the electricity. 94,000 strong there to see you in your homecoming knock the block off of Dillian Whyte.\”

Triple H then used one of Fury\’s favorite insults, calling Whyte a big \”dosser.\”

\”\’Gypsy King.\’ The true king of boxing returns home to Wembley. 94,000 people are gonna be there and we\’ll be watching just like the rest of the world. Watching you blow the roof off of Wembley Stadium and knock that big dosser out.\”

Finally, The Undertaker pulled out a Muhammad Ali quote to get the \”Gypsy King\” fired up.

\”Hey, champ. The Undertaker here. It\’s about that time again, my friend. You\’re going to the big house, Wembley Stadium to put on a show. Remember, you are the \’Gyspy King\’ and it\’s time to conquer another kingdom.

\”Dillian Whyte, he ain\’t got the skills to pay any kind of bills you\’re about to bring towards him. Remember, my friend float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. The hands can\’t hit what the eyes can\’t see.

\”Take care of business, Tyson. I\’m still here just in case you need me to dig a hole to fill a soul. Alright my man, April 23rd take care of business and I\’ll see you on the other side.\”

There\’s been a lot of speculation on what Tyson Fury will do after this fight. He initially said he would be retiring from pro boxing matches but he has appeared to walk those comments back.

Many have also speculated that a showdown inside the WWE ring with Drew McIntyre is a possibility. The two have teased sharing the squared circle.

  • Triple H Says NXT Revamp Was In The Works Before His Health Issues

A lot of people were critical of WWE for rebranding NXT shortly after Triple H had to step away from his role due to his cardiac event. However, according to The Game himself, the overhaul was in the works before he took time off.

The former world champion recently had an interview with The Athletic. He discussed how NXT has gone through many different phases.

Discussing the brand\’s revamp to NXT 2.0, Triple H explained that being put on TV and the pandemic completely altered the show. According to him, they were discussing bringing NXT back to its development roots even before he took time off:

\”We were talking about this shift anyway. That’s where we were headed. It happened at a period of time where I had to leave for a bit. Luckily, Shawn (Michaels) had been doing it with me all that time, so it was a seamless thing.

I stepped out, did what I needed to do, but that team has killed it.\” said Triple H, \”They’ve really created a show where you can really say that’s the next generation of stars.”

Apart from this, the WWE EVP also talked about the rise of AEW, and NXT talents jumping ships to Tony Khan\’s promotion. The King of Kings revealed that he stays in touch with almost all of them and claimed that he is happy for them.

  • AJ Styles Reveals Who Is Responsible for Bringing Him to WWE

Former WWE Champion AJ Styles is one of the company\’s most exciting signings in history.

\”The Phenomenal One\” inked a deal with WWE back in 2016 after departing from New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). For years prior there was a lot of chatter as to whether or not fans would get to see Styles, widely regarded as one of the most talented non-WWE performers in the world at the time, compete inside a WWE ring.

That was finally silenced on January 24 2016, when Styles made his WWE debut at the Royal Rumble. Since, Styles has become one of the company\’s biggest stars and now has over six years of experience with the company under his belt. Recently, Styles was interviewed by Wrestling Inc. to reflect on his WWE career.

During the interview, Styles revealed that it was actually Triple H who is responsible for getting him to WWE in the first place.

“Yeah, Triple H was here, and I am glad to see him, man,” AJ Styles said. “You’ve got to think, when I think about his retirement I am here because of him. Because he called me, that’s huge for me.”

Unfortunately for \”The Game,\” he was recently forced to call it a career due to health concerns. AJ Styles and Triple H never got to share the ring together as opponents in a television match, which is a shame considering they likely would\’ve put on a tremendous program against each other.

For now, Styles is currently busy in the midst of his feud with Edge and Damian Priest. As for Triple H, he will continue to help mold the WWE stars of tomorrow from backstage now that his in-ring career has come to an end.
