TNA Sacrifice Sets Up 4 Matches for Rebellion PPV

TNA Wrestling came out of last night’s Sacrifice event with four matches officially announced for April’s Rebellion pay-per-view, setting up several key storylines for the upcoming show.

Hardy Boyz Face System Challenge at Rebellion

The biggest match confirmed for Rebellion will see The Hardys defending the World Tag Team Championships against Brian Myers and Bear Bronson of The System. Myers earned this title shot by winning the Feast or Fired match earlier this year.

The Righteous are expected to play a role in the championship match after finally turning on The Hardys at Sacrifice. Vincent had teamed with Jeff Hardy during the event to face Myers and Cedric Alexander, but a backstage video showed Dutch standing over a bloody Matt Hardy.

The System then attacked Jeff Hardy and scored the pinfall victory as Vincent stood by without helping his former allies.

    Three Additional Matches Announced

TNA also confirmed three other matches for the Rebellion card. Cedric Alexander will challenge Leon Slater for the X Division Championship, continuing Alexander’s pursuit of singles gold.

Elijah will face Frankie Kazarian in a one-on-one encounter, while Trey Miguel will defend the International Championship against Mustafa Ali.

    World Championship Picture Remains Unclear

While TNA World Champion Mike Santana is expected to defend his title at Rebellion, no challenger has been announced following the controversial ending to Sacrifice’s main event.

    TNA Sacrifice Quick Results

    • Leon Slater def. Eric Young (X Division Title retained): Slater hit a Swanton 450 to retain; strong 15-minute match
    • AJ Francis & Frankie Kazarian def. The Home Town Man. Kazarian hit the Fade to Black to close it out
    • Arianna Grace def. Léi Y?ng Lee & Xia Brookside (Knockouts Title retained, 3-Way). Stacks interfered and helped Grace steal the pin on Léi Y?ng Lee; Santino booked Grace vs. Xia Brookside for next week’s Impact.
    • Mustafa Ali & Tasha Steelz def. Jada Stone & Partner. Ali hit a 450 splash for the win; Steelz and Ali looked dominant
    • Moose def. Eddie Edwards by DQ. Barely lasted 30 seconds; Agent Zero ran in immediately, causing the disqualification
    • Mara Sadé def. Elayna Black (No DQ). Sadé slammed Black into thumbtacks then hit a moonsault to win in brutal fashion
    • Cedric Alexander & Brian Myers def. Jeff Hardy & Partner. Jeff was distracted by footage of Vincent and Dutch attacking his brother Matt Hardy, costing his team
    • Mike Santana vs. Steve Maclin (TNA World Title) — No Contest — Maclin took a superkick and collapsed, prompting the X sign (possibly a legit injury); Eddie Edwards immediately ran in and attacked Santana, setting up a title match at Rebellion.

Sacrifice arrives at the end of one of TNA’s most intense stretches of television. The AMC era has given the company a bigger platform, and every match on the card has weeks of buildup behind it.

    Match Previews

Mike Santana (c) vs. Steve Maclin — TNA World Championship

Maclin drew the “Fired” briefcase in the Feast or Fired match on January 22, forcing his departure from TNA. He blamed Santana for his situation, attacked the champion repeatedly while technically unemployed, and was eventually reinstated on the March 5 live episode after Santana personally demanded it. Their face-to-face on March 19 was the most emotionally charged segment TNA has produced this year, with Santana telling Maclin he owes him his career and Maclin making it clear he doesn’t want gratitude — he wants the title. Santana has been a fighting champion since winning the belt from Trick Williams at Genesis on January 15, but Maclin is a different kind of threat: a man with nothing left to lose.

Leon Slater (c) vs. Eric Young — TNA X-Division Championship

Young won the X-Division title shot through Feast or Fired, then chose to cash it in with violence. He attacked Slater after a successful title defense on March 5 and piledrove him on the arena floor, leaving the champion with a neck injury. Young has framed his current run as a “cleanse” of TNA, while Slater, the youngest X-Division Champion in company history at 22, has been fighting through the injury to prove he can hold the division together. Whether Slater is fully healthy remains the biggest question heading into Friday.

Arianna Grace (c) vs. Dani Luna vs. Lei Ying Lee — TNA Knockouts World Championship

Grace won the title from Lei Ying Lee at No Surrender on February 13 and debuted a new green-strapped championship design. Lee earned an automatic rematch as former champion, and Luna was added after her originally scheduled Genesis title match against Lee fell through due to travel issues. Grace has Stacks in her corner, Lee has the Angel Warriors, and Luna has been on a solo winning streak.

    Moose vs. Eddie Edwards

Moose returned from his post-Slammiversary hiatus with one mission: dismantle The System, the faction he once led. He’s been methodical, beating Cedric Alexander in an Atlanta Street Fight, destroying Brian Myers in seconds, and targeting Bear Bronson on tonight’s go-home show. Edwards is the final target, with Alisha Edwards in Moose’s corner and the rest of The System backing Edwards.

Trey Miguel & Jada Stone vs. Mustafa Ali & Tasha Steelz

Order 4’s targeting of Jada Stone on the March 19 iMPACT brought TNA International Champion Trey Miguel into the conflict as her protector. With Order 4’s full entourage (Agent Zero, Jason Hotch, John Skyler) expected at ringside, the numbers game could be decisive.

Elijah & The Home Town Man vs. Frankie Kazarian & AJ Francis

This tag match grew out of weeks of chaos surrounding Kazarian’s “King’s Speech” segments, where Francis and Kazarian’s shared ego created a natural alliance against Elijah and The Home Town Man. A grudge match with no titles on the line but plenty of personality.

Mara Sade vs. Elayna Black — No Disqualification Match

Their rivalry escalated through Battle Royal eliminations and confrontations across multiple episodes of iMPACT. The No DQ stipulation gives both women a chance to settle things definitively.
