  • Trey Miguel Makes TNA Return After AEW Drama

Trey Miguel is back in TNA.

The latest episode of Thursday Night Impact on AMC featured the former Rascalz member being revealed as a surprise entrant in the Feast or Fired match.

Miguel ended up walking out with one of the four briefcases in the bout, alongside names such as Eric Young, Steve Maclin, and Eddie Edwards. Though the company did not confirm the contents of the briefcase immediately, saving the reveal for next week.

The former X-Division champion has been a topic of discussion recently, amid reports of his signing and abrupt firing from AEW. The Tony Khan promotion had teased the arrival of the Rascalz during the January 14 Dynamite. Trey Miguel was notably missing from the lineup when the group debuted during the January 17 Collision.

Reports since then have revealed that AEW had planned the former champion to appear on TV. WBD, however, put a stop to it because of his past homophobic comments, leading to his release from the company.

The 31-year-old had announced that he would be taking a break from wrestling after this drama, so it\’s possible that his TNA return is a one off and that he will be done with the promotion next week.

  • Trey Miguel Taking a Break From Pro Wrestling

Trey Miguel has announced he is stepping away from professional wrestling, explaining his absence from The Rascalz\’ AEW television debut this past weekend.

\”Taking a break from wrestling. Please respect my space and don\’t tag me in any posts or comments. Go support the Rascalz still,\” Miguel wrote on social media.

Miguel was noticeably missing when Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz, and Myron Reed made their first AEW appearance on Saturday\’s Collision in Phoenix. While all four members of The Rascalz signed multi-year deals with AEW earlier this month, only three appeared in the backstage segment that officially introduced the group to All Elite audiences.

The announcement comes after fans noticed Miguel had deleted all AEW-related content from his social media accounts, including a \”Coming soon\” post he shared when the signing was first reported on January 14. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Miguel was backstage in Phoenix for both Dynamite and Collision but did not appear on either broadcast.

The Rascalz departed TNA just hours before the company\’s premiere on AMC on January 15. Fightful Select reported that AEW presented a better offer than TNA\’s retention attempt, with all four members signing multi-year contracts. Miguel and Wentz\’s TNA deals had expired at the end of 2025, while Reed and Xavier were working without formal contracts.

Miguel, a two-time TNA X-Division Champion, returned from hernia surgery in late 2025 after being forced to miss Slammiversary. No reason was given for his decision to step away, and no timeline has been provided for his return.

  • AEW Confirms Big Faction Signing

The Rascalz are coming to AEW.

The group of Myron Reed, Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz, & Trey Miguel recently became free agents after their contracts with TNA wrestling came to an end.

Tony Khan did not give people a long time to speculate on their status; however, as AEW teased the arrival of the popular faction on this week\’s episode of Dynamite:

Myron Reed was originally scheduled to face TNA X-Division champion Leon Slater on Impact\’s AMC debut this Thursday. Though the company cancelled this match without an explanation, just a couple of days before the show.

Now, the latest AEW announcement provides a potential resolution to this mystery. With TNA having partnered up with WWE in the past couple of years, it seems logical that the AEW deal would bar the former champion from making an appearance for the rival brand.

There is no word on when or where the Rascalz are expected to make their in-person debut for Tony Khan\’s promotion. Stay tuned for more updates.

  • TNA Cancels Title Match Days Before AMC Debut

TNA appears to have cancelled a title match.

The company is set to make its AMC debut this week with the January 15 episode of Thursday Night iMPACT from the Curtis Curwell Center in Garland, Texas.

They had booked multiple big title matches for this show, including one between the X-Division Champion Leon Slater and Myron Reed.

In the updated lineup shared on social media on Tuesday, however, the company did not include this bout, suggesting that it has been pulled from the card:

Reports suggest that the challenger Reed, along with his other Rascalz partners, Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz, and Trey Miguel, became free agents recently after their contract expired.

TNA has re-signed names such as Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali recently. It appears that the officials were confident about a similar deal with Myron, but things did not go as they hoped.

Though the company still has a strong line up for the upcoming episode, which includes the return of a big TNA original. You can check out more about it here.

  • All 4 Members The Rascalz Reportedly Free Agents

All four members of The Rascalz are reportedly no longer under contract to TNA Wrestling, making the popular faction free agents.

According to PWInsider, Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz, Trey Miguel, and Myron Reed are all believed to be free and clear to appear for any promotion they choose.

The timing aligns with previous reports indicating Wentz\’s TNA contract expired on January 1, 2026, while Miguel\’s deal also ran through December 2025. Reed had been working without a formal TNA contract since August, and Xavier never signed a TNA deal following his return to the company after being released by WWE in October 2025.

The four wrestlers reunited at TNA Turning Point in November, marking the first time all original Rascalz members competed together as a unit when they defeated The System in an eight-man tag match. Despite creative plans being in place for the group, it appears negotiations for new contracts have not materialized.

The group\’s free agency comes as TNA prepares to debut on AMC on January 15, with the company having finalized short-term deals with several talents whose contracts expired at year\’s end.
