Ted DiBiase Jr. Announced for WrestleCon 2026 in Las Vegas

Ted DiBiase Jr. is heading to Las Vegas this month for WrestleCon 2026.

The former WWE star was announced as an autograph and photo op guest for the fan convention, which runs all four days of WrestleMania 42 weekend. The announcement came via WrestleCon’s official social media, presented by 123 Talent.

It marks DiBiase’s first public wrestling-related appearance since a federal jury in Jackson, Mississippi acquitted him on all 13 counts of conspiracy, wire fraud, theft, and money laundering on March 20. He faced up to 185 years in prison stemming from his involvement in what became Mississippi’s largest welfare scandal, in which federal indictments accused the former MDHS director of directing welfare dollars to two nonprofits, which then awarded sham contracts to various individuals including DiBiase’s companies.

DiBiase maintained throughout the trial that he earned the money legitimately and never stole a dime. After the verdict, he said outside the courthouse: “I’m going to live again. I’m going to continue to serve people because that really is who I am.”

DiBiase, a WWE roster member during the 2000s and 2010s and the son of Ted “The Million Dollar Man” DiBiase Sr., has not competed in WWE since 2013. A civil suit seeking to recover misspent funds remains ongoing and names DiBiase among dozens of defendants.

WrestleMania 42 takes place April 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Mississippi State Auditor and More Comment On Ted DiBiase Jr. Acquittal

Former WWE star Ted DiBiase Jr. made news this week after being acquitted of all criminal charges in the Mississippi welfare fraud case. A federal jury returned a not guilty verdict for him on all 13 counts after 4 hours of deliberation this Friday.

U.S. Attorney Baxter Kruger spoke to media outlets after this verdict. He only gave a short statement on the unfavorable result of the trial, praising the effort of the prosecution team:

“While I remain confident in our case, I respect the jury’s verdict, I commend the prosecution team for their diligent efforts.”

The State Auditor Shad White also commented on the verdict while speaking to Mississippi Voice. He mentioned the seven other defendants, including former Mississippi Department of Human Services Director John Davis, nonprofit founder Nancy New, her son Zachary New, and Ted’s brother Brett DiBiase having already pleaded guilty to the charges. White expressed hope that the state lawyers will be able to recover as much of the scandal money as possible:

“While I’m disappointed in the result of the trial, nothing changes the fact that seven people have already pleaded guilty to state or federal charges because of the welfare scandal, My hope now is that the state’s lawyers will be able to recover as much of the misspent money as possible in civil court so hard-working taxpayers can see some accountability for what happened here.”

The former Million Dollar Champion also spoke to the media after his acquittal, talking about years of hardships he had to go through since being accused. You can check out his comments on the matter here.

Ted DiBiase Jr. Reacts to Acquittal: “Seven Years of Being Slandered”

Ted DiBiase Jr. spoke emotionally outside a Mississippi federal courthouse on Thursday after a jury acquitted him on all 13 counts tied to the state’s welfare fraud scandal, describing years of personal and family damage brought on by the case.

“Seven years of being slandered and made to be something that is completely false — it’s about torn my family apart,” DiBiase said through tears, speaking to 16 WAPT News Jackson immediately after the verdict was read.

The former WWE tag team champion opened his remarks by crediting his faith, saying “I give all glory to God. I give all the credit to my Lord and Savior” before thanking his legal team. He said he had made peace with any possible outcome before entering the courtroom.

“I left it in God’s hands and whatever the verdict was today, I was okay with it. Man makes his plans. God directs his steps,” he said.

DiBiase described the psychological weight of living under federal scrutiny for years, saying the relief of the verdict still hadn’t fully registered. “It still hasn’t sunk in. It’s just been so long that this cloud has lived over me — and I’m just grateful for it to be over.”

He also offered a disarmingly simple vision of what comes next.

“I don’t know — I might go cut my grass today. I’m gonna live again. I’m gonna continue to serve people, because that really is who I am.”

DiBiase was one of several public figures swept up in Mississippi’s $77 million welfare fraud scandal. His acquittal on all counts marks the end of a yearslong legal ordeal for the son of WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase Sr.
