Tama Tonga Responds to WWE Fine for Rehearsal Footage Leak

WWE Superstar Tama Tonga has responded to his five-figure WWE fine after he posted restricted rehearsal footage from a recent episode of SmackDown in Phoenix, Arizona. The former two-time WWE Tag Team Champion addressed the situation on social media Friday.

As per reports, WWE issued the fine after Tonga shared a 29-second video showing the stage, aisle, and wrestlers including Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa, during rehearsals. The footage could have exposed match planning and production details that WWE keeps tightly protected.

Tonga posted the rehearsal clips before later taking them down, but a fan had already reposted the video. Tonga did not wrestle on the March 13 SmackDown but was in the corner of Solo Sikoa and Talla Tonga during a tag team match.

    Tonga Addresses the Fine

In a TikTok clip shared on social media, Tonga appeared to respond to the report. He stated the fine was worth it and urged fans to stay positive, accept the hit, and keep moving forward.

“It’s all good. It was worth it. I had to go to my happy place, after that shenanigans. I had to go to the world’s happiest place to get myself smiling again. I think that’s the biggest thing, when you get hit with something, you just take the hit and keep moving. You can’t let that bring you down, you know? You gotta keep on moving.

Tonga then joked that he has “been in the doghouse” his whole life and made clear the punishment would not change his mindset. He is treating the situation as something to accept rather than a major setback.

“Am I in the doghouse? I’ve been in the doghouse my whole life. No getting out of the dog house. I move in life like I’m in the dog house always.”

The incident highlights WWE’s strict policies regarding behind-the-scenes content. Rehearsal footage is considered highly sensitive as it can reveal production methods and match choreography that the company prefers to keep private.

WWE Star Reportedly Fined For TikTok Video

    Tama Tonga got some heat.

The MFT star had posted a TikTok video last week, showing the preparations for the March 13 SmackDown. The video taken from the entrance ramp briefly showed Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton in the ring, preparing for their segment on the show.

According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, the management was not happy with the footage going out and Tama Tonga was fined heavily for posting it:

“Word going around at SmackDown is that Tama Tonga was fined by WWE for posting a video of rehearsals last week. Was told it was significant of a fine. WWE has an unwritten rule about not recording/posting during rehearsal.”

Last week’s SmackDown featured a WrestleMania contract signing between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes. The segment ended with The Viper turning heel and viciously attacking his former protege.

After Orton teased a mystery person’s involvement in the story on Raw, Matt Cardona stepped up to him on SmackDown this week. Randy pretended to apologize to the former Zack Ryder at first but he then attacked Cardona as well.

  • Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga Capture WWE Tag Team Titles

Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga of the MFTs defeated Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy of the Wyatt Sicks to win the WWE Tag Team Titles on the January 23, 2026 episode of WWE SmackDown in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

The match saw Tama Tonga and Joe Gacy start, with Sikoa quickly tagging in. Chaos erupted in the closing moments as brawls spilled outside the ring. Tama Tonga clashed with Erick Rowan, who had accompanied the champions to ringside.

Uncle Howdy then interfered, applying the Mandible Claw to Tama Tonga. Sikoa capitalized by hitting Uncle Howdy with a Samoan Spike, then used the Wyatt Sicks\’ lantern to strike Dexter Lumis.

Tama Tonga sealed the victory with a Cut Throat on Lumis for the pinfall, ending the Wyatt Sicks\’ nearly 200-day title reign that began in July against the Street Profits.
