  • Steve Austin Offers Unique Praise To Chelsea Green

Steve Austin Offers Unique Praise To Chelsea Green

Steve Austin has praised Chelsea Green.

The former Women’s US Champion has received a lot of support in the industry since the Unreal controversy. Veteran producer Michael Hayes had suggested during an episode of the show that her role in the company was to elevate main event talents but not to be one herself. While Hayes has since apologized to the female star for his remarks, the support for her continues.

The Texas Rattlesnake joined this list during his recent interview with SI. Praising Chelsea Green’s ability in his own unique way, Stone Cold Steve Austin said that the former champion is pretty fearless:

“You’re an idiot when you first join the business. You just are, unless you’re Shawn Michaels and you kind of get it from day one. When you’re starving and you’re making $15 and $20 a night, you realize that you better get good pretty quick and learn how to reach people on an emotional level,

So you can start making some money. I think that Chelsea Green does that a lot of time. She’s pretty fearless out there. On a creative note, she’ll go for it, and it’s done well for her.”

Chelsea Green has been out of action the last few weeks, after suffering a broken ankle in a triple threat match on the February 6 SmackDown. There is no word on how long she will stay on the shelf.

During the interview, Steve Austin also talked about the neck injury of Kevin Owens and revealed what working with Vince McMahon was really like. You can check out his comments here.

  • Steve Austin Calls Kevin Owens Hall of Fame Talent, Reached Out To Him After Neck Injury

Steve Austin Calls Kevin Owens Hall of Fame Talent, Reached Out To Him After Neck Injury

WWE legend Stone Cold Steve Austin recently addressed Kevin Owens’ neck injury during an appearance on The Takedown on SI this week, calling him a Hall of Fame-level talent and revealing he personally reached out to Owens after learning about the injury.

“I called Kevin a couple of months ago,” Austin said. “He’s got a great doctor. I care about the guy, love the guy. He’s a Hall of Fame talent.”

Austin also shared a story about a chance encounter with Owens roughly 25 years ago at an airport, when he spotted the then-young wrestler and offered him a piece of advice that proved prescient.

“I remember meeting him in the airport 20, 25 years ago — I’d seen him work — and I told him, ‘Hey kid, you don’t need to worry about all those fancy moves. You need to learn how to talk,’” Austin said. “And of course he did, and he’s great.”

    Dealing With Injuries

Austin, who had his own career derailed by a serious neck injury, drew on personal experience when reflecting on Owens’ situation.

“It’s a rough business. No matter what style you work, you’re going to take a bump. Even the most simple bump can be the devastating one — it’s the straw that broke the camel’s back,” he said.

Austin also spoke candidly about the psychological toll of being sidelined, something he experienced firsthand when a neck fusion forced him to step away from in-ring competition.

“When I got my neck fused, I had to stop watching for a while,” he said.

“You’re frustrated, you want to get back out there, everybody else is thriving. You want the business to be great, but there is that selfish part — that competitive part of you. It’s like, ‘I should be out there and I ain’t.’”

Owens announced in April last year that he would be stepping away from the ring due to a neck injury. There is currently no public timeline for his return to WWE programming.

  • Steve Austin Details What It Was Really Like Working With Vince McMahon

Steve Austin Details What It Was Really Like Working With Vince McMahon

    Steve Austin and Vince McMahon
    WWE

Stone Cold Steve Austin sat down with Zack Heydorn on The Takedown on SI this week and offered one of the most candid portraits of Vince McMahon as a performer, boss, and psychologist that Austin has ever put on record.

On Vince’s surprising ability in the ring despite having no real training, Austin was blunt — but complimentary.

“He didn’t have reps in the ring. He’s green as hell,” Austin said. “But for some reason that guy just had an innate ability to perform. He thrived on the reactions of the people, and because he had such a vast knowledge of seeing some of the greatest heels and baby faces perform, I think he drew from that. He’s clumsy, he’s not graceful — but the chemistry between us was so strong that whatever obstacles were there, he really spun up and learned the patience process.”

Austin recalled a moment in Memphis where Vince insisted on taking a dangerous bump off the top of a cage onto an announcer’s desk despite Austin urging him not to.

“He was resolute on taking that bump,” Austin said. “I told him, ‘God dang, man, are you sure you want to do that? I don’t think you need to.’ He goes, ‘Oh, you know Steve, it’ll be great.’ His thirst as a performer to give the fans their money’s worth, and then some — he would do anything. I loved working with him.”

Austin was equally candid about Vince’s psychological grip on the locker room, describing a pattern where talent would walk into Vince’s office with a grievance and walk out having accomplished nothing — yet somehow satisfied.

“You go in there one-on-one with Vince and all of a sudden you go in there with an issue, he does this whole cycle thing with you, you shake hands, you walk out the door — and you’re like, ‘Holy [shit]. I walked in there with a problem. I still got the problem. But I’m in there with him and I agreed that everything was cool and I didn’t get anything done,’” Austin said. “He’s a master of mind games and psychology. He wore a lot of hats — psychiatrist, psychologist, motivator.”

Austin said his own relationship with Vince worked because he asked for very little.

“I was the top guy, and I was a low-maintenance guy. I don’t require a lot of attention. Just tell me what we’re doing and I’m good. I’m going to make all the house shows, show up early, stay late. I never was a diva. I was never jealous of anybody,” he said. “Once I proved myself to Vince as the guy that I could be, we were golden.”

He also recalled the moment after WrestleMania 14 when Vince signaled the full organizational machine was about to get behind him.

“I shook my head because I knew it wasn’t a great match,” Austin said of his title win over Shawn Michaels. “Vince looked at me and said, ‘Don’t worry about that. It’ll all change tomorrow.’ When Vince says things are going to change and he lights a rocket and sends you up, that’s what he does. And that’s when it was all hands on deck.”

  • Randy Orton Confesses He Lied About DDP, Recalls WrestleMania With Stone Cold

Multi-time WWE World Champion Randy Orton recently spent part of his appearance on The Pat McAfee Show doing something he rarely does: telling stories that don\’t exactly flatter the legend.

From a long-denied phone call to Diamond Dallas Page to forgetting how to hear at WrestleMania, the Pat McAfee interview brought out Orton at his most candid and self-aware.

The DDP Confession — Years in the Making

For years, Orton publicly denied a story DDP had been telling: that a young Randy called him to ask permission before adopting the Diamond Cutter — rebranded as the RKO — as his finish. Orton finally set the record straight.

\”There\’s a story that goes way back where DDP did an interview and said that I had given him a call and asked him if I could use the Diamond Cutter as a finish,\” Orton said. \”I called him out and said, \’It\’s a lie. I never called him.\’ Sorry. I totally did. I thought I might have been dreaming it, but no.\”

He attributed the initial denial to being \”a little rough around the edges\” in his early 20s — not fully remembering a conversation he apparently had.

Receiving the Stunner — A Lifelong Dream

McAfee told a WrestleMania story of his own: Steve Austin called him up to the ring at AT&T Stadium in Texas,.

\”We\’re out there. Steve Austin says, \’Come up here.\’ It\’s all getting called on the fly,\” Orton recalled. \”And he starts talking — I can\’t hear him. Gravelly voice. He said [to take a] beer, and I watched the video back. He points to both things. I couldn\’t hear a word he was saying and I was like, okay, I\’ve done it before. We\’re doing beers. Thank God I was a fan and knew what the hell he was talking about.\”

As a lifelong wrestling fan, the moment carried a weight that went well beyond the performance.

\”When you receive a stunner — like as a wrestling mark and as somebody that\’s watched the entire thing — it\’s like this is the greatest thing that could ever happen to me in my entire life,\” he said. \”I\’ve been thinking of how I would take a stunner for 20, 30 years. So it\’s like, immediately — we\’ve been planning.\”

Five Kids, a Gaming Habit, and a Lucky Man

Away from the ring, Randy Orton described a domestic life he clearly cherishes. He has five children, stays out of celebrity culture by design, and has a gaming habit his wife has long since made peace with.

\”My poor wife. I\’m like, \’Hey honey, Brooklyn\’s in bed, I\’m going to go down to the media room.\’ She\’s like, \’See you in 3 hours,\’\” he said.

He\’s currently working through Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, having previously put time into Elden Ring.

The bigger picture, though, is one of genuine appreciation:

\”My wife is absolutely amazing, man. And I\’ve got five amazing kids. I feel I got to pinch myself every morning when I wake up. I am like the luckiest guy in the world.\”

Orton competes in the Men\’s Elimination Chamber match this Saturday, February 28th at the United Center in Chicago, live at 7 PM ET on the ESPN App.

  • Stone Cold Recalls Being Paralyzed for 60 Seconds After Breaking His Neck

Stone Cold Steve Austin has opened up about being paralyzed for 60 seconds after breaking his neck at WWE SummerSlam 1997 in his infamous match with Owen Hart, an injury that changed the trajectory of his entire career.

Speaking candidly to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Austin opened up about the terrifying moment that nearly ended his wrestling career permanently.

\”When you get paralyzed, which I was for, a transient quadriplegic for a length of time, 60 seconds, it scares you,\” Austin explained. \”And so, you don\’t want to go back to that place again. And I didn\’t think I was coming back.\”

The injury forced Austin to transform his wrestling style from a technical approach to the hard-hitting brawler fans came to know.

\”A tragedy or mishap turned into a bonus\” for the Stone Cold character, he reflected, though the neurological aftermath would eventually force his retirement.

What Happened Before Steve Austin\’s \”Last\” Match?

Austin also revealed a harrowing story from the night before WrestleMania 19 in 2003. Running ragged from dehydration and excessive caffeine consumption, his heart began racing at 180 beats per minute. \”I looked at Liz. I said, \’Liz, I\’m in trouble,\’\” Austin recalled, noting that a doctor never actually cleared him but he wrestled anyway.

After his neck fusion surgery, Vince McMahon called Austin while he was recovering, already planning a comeback. Austin was initially offended given how close he came to permanent paralysis. \”But once I got solid again, confidence returned. There\’s things to be done and I\’m not through yet.\”

Austin also shared a bizarre moment from his recovery, describing how he nearly choked on jalapeño burgers while driving to Sonic with his neck brace on, asking himself, \”Godamn, am I fixing to die? Is this how it ends?\”

  • Steve Austin Explains Rivalry With Vince McMahon

Steve Austin has explained why his rivalry with Vince McMahon worked

The Texas Rattlesnake spoke to Chris Van Vliet for a new interview recently. He discussed things such as his cats becoming internet celebrities, his WrestleMania match with Kevin Owens, and more.

When asked how the legendary rivalry between him and Vince McMahon began, the former world champion claimed that he doesn\’t really remember the origin of it. Though he recalled a promo from the September 22, 1997 episode of Raw, when Steve Austin first acknowledged McMahon as the owner of WWE:

“I don’t remember. I just remember he was interviewing me one time. He was talking about whoever was the President at the time. But I said on the interview, I said, everybody knows you’re the boss, Vince. And I think maybe that was when he woke up and said, Hey, let’s do this.\”

The rivalry between the two that started in 1997 became the biggest storyline the wrestling world had seen at that time. Being the center story of WWE through the Attitude Era, the feud is credited as the rivalry that helped WWE get the advantage over WCW and win the Monday Night Wars.

Discussing what made the whole thing so special, Stone Cold Steve Austin explained that it was a story that connected with even those who were not fans of wrestling. He mentioned that at some point in their life, everyone has fantasized about punching their boss, and he became the one who really got to do it:

\”That was a feud that transcended the wrestling business. And even if you didn’t, even if you weren’t a wrestling fan, per se, you were interested in being entertained. So you put on to see what this motherf*cker from South Texas is terrorizing his boss from New York City.

Of course, Vince is from North Carolina, but you know, he’s the guy with all the money, and here’s this guy that he’s trying to give a hard time to and make everything hard for him. He’s outsmarting him, and he’s kicking his ass. At some point in anybody’s life, they’d like to punch their boss in the mouth. When it was time for me to get mine in, I did.

Steve Austin also noted that he doesn\’t know what the former WWE chairman is up to nowadays. When asked if he was surprised at how far the former wrestling executive was willing to go in their story, the Attitude Era star replied negatively. He mentioned that McMahon considered himself to be the leader of the pack and was willing to go to any length because of it. According to Austin, they were the perfect rivals for each other.

  • Steve Austin Discloses The Most Memorable Moment of His Career

Stone Cold Steve Austin has revealed the most memorable moment of his career.

The Wrestling Veteran was asked the question during a recent interview with DJD Classics. The WWE Hall of Famer first mentioned how he loved working with the Rock and that his feud with Vince McMahon changed the wrestling world forever.

The one moment that Steve Austin cherishes more than all others, however, comes from his WrestleMania 13 No DQ submission match with Bret \’The Hitman\’ Hart:

\”That match at WrestleMania 13, I knew we had those people from Jump Street. I dived on him, started whipping his ass, and then we go into a barricade. I start bleeding like a stuck pig.

Finally, after a couple of attempts, he turns me over in that sharpshooter, and I\’m laying there, and I\’m in a push up position, and I am trying to escape.\”

I\’ll Never Forget: Stone Cold Steve Austin

The ending of the bout saw Steve Austin passing out from pain and loss of blood after being locked in the Sharpshooter by Hart. The special guest referee, Ken Shamrock then awarded the match to Bret.

The Hitman continued attacking the Texas Rattlesnake even after the bell, however, leading to the most famous double turn in wrestling history.

The WWE Hall of Famer mentioned that the acoustics of the arena made the whole thing even more special. Austin claimed that he will never forget the moment when he was just laying there in the pool of his own blood:

\”We loved working Chicago Rosemont Horizon, because first of all, the fans are terrific. And the acoustics in that building, that\’s a wooden ceiling. So when they yell, it\’s kind of like hitting the gas pedal, you get an immediate response.

Everything you do in that ring is driven by a response. Man, those people are just quick. And so we had that crowd, hook, line and sinker, and I was going to pass out in the pool of blood. Got in the finish. Got the finish earlier from Vince.

The pool of blood was not planned, until later by two individuals. There was a no color policy in effect, and I was laying there bleeding like a stuck pig. And I\’ll never forget, to answer your question, that moment was finishing that match, executing the double turn, and laying there.\”

Stone Cold Steve Austin later revealed that the idea of delivering a stunner to Shamrock when the UFC legend tried to pull him up was his own. He also named Bret Hart as the opponent he loved sharing the ring with the most.

  • Stone Cold Opens Up On Struggles After WWE Retirement

\’Stone Cold\’ Steve Austin is considered one of the greatest wrestlers in the world, but life after the squared circle was not easy for the WWE Hall of Famer. Appearing on NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr.\’s podcast to discuss his career, Austin reflected retiring from in-ring competition in 2003 and immediately feeling different.

\”You work your ass off cause that\’s what we\’re here to do and then you enjoy retirement. Hell I retired at 38 you know how much money I left on the table? Not just about the money, it\’s about the good times, being with the boys…that\’s what I lived and breathed. And so, I didn\’t handle it well.\”

In the three years after his retirement, Austin did \”a lot of stupid stuff\”. Eventually, Austin had a heart-to-heart with his own reflection and knew things had to change.

\”I went to the bathroom and just looked at myself in the mirror. I didn\’t say this out loud but I thought \’Dude, the things you\’re doing are not conducive to living a long life.\”

Austin said that a return to his pre-wrestling job as a forklift driver was not an option after years of becoming a household name in the ring. Eventually, Austin sought help from \’Diamond\’ Dallas Page, though change did not come easy for the Rattlesnake.

\”I packed up, moved in with Diamond Dallas Page in Los Angeles. Wasted about a year out there, searching for the bottom of a lot of bottles.\”

Things eventually turned around in 2011 when Austin was offered a role hosting the revamped Tough Enough. For the former World Champion, this role helped him heal some of the wounds left from his abrupt departure from the ring.

Today Austin makes sporadic appearances for WWE, including as part of WrestleMania 41 in April 2025. While it remains to be seen when Steve will next appear, fans can expect a can of \’Whoop-Ass\’ to be opened when the Rattlesnake is in town.

  • Tony Khan Names One Wrestling Legend He Would Have Signed To AEW

Tony Khan has named the one wrestling legend he would have loved to sign in his prime.

The AEW President recently had an interview with Z100 New York. He talked about things such as the 2025 Full Gear PPV, booking Bryan Danielson\’s world title run, people saying AEW doesn\’t have stories and more.

During the interview, Khan was also asked which talent from past or present he would like to sign to his promotion if he could. Tony named The Texas Rattlesnake as someone he would have loved to be part of his company:

“Steve Austin. If you could get Steve Austin in the 90s and just have Steve Austin for the decade of the 90s, he’s the greatest ever. He’s a great human. I love Steve Austin.

He was very nice to me, haven’t seen him in a long time. He was very kind to have me on his show after the original Double or Nothing and I am one of the biggest fans of his.\”

Tony Khan also claimed that he would have been fortunate to work with any iteration of the WWE Hall of Famer from the 90s, whether it be Stunning Steve, Superstar Steve, the Ringmaster or his most famous Stone Cold Steve Austin run.

The wrestling executive had recently talked about Jon Moxley\’s AEW title reign elevating young stars as well. He had revealed that one of the talents Mox wrestled during his run is going to be out of action for a long time due to injury. You can check out his remarks here.

  • Latest On \’Stone Cold\’ Steve Austin\’s Potential In-Ring Return

\’Stone Cold\’ Steve Austin came out of retirement at WrestleMania 38 in 2022—where he defeated Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred match. While many believed that this marked the end of his time competing, a new update suggests Austin might not be done just yet.

According to Fightful Select, multiple people who interacted with Austin during WrestleMania 41 weekend said he hinted at a potential return. One source claimed Austin told them he “might have one more in him”—suggesting he wasn’t just referring to another signature ATV entrance.

Austin has previously stated that “TKO hasn’t reached out” since taking over WWE operations, he was involved in this year’s WrestleMania week events. Those who saw him noted that he appeared physically healthy and mentally open to returning—if the right circumstances arise.

This isn’t the first time WWE has considered bringing Austin back. In 2023, there were internal discussions about a possible match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, though plans never materialized. Brock Lesnar was also considered as an opponent, while fans remain hopeful of a long awaited showdown with CM Punk.

Whether such a high-profile showdown ever happens is still uncertain—but for now, Stone Cold isn’t shutting the door on a return.

  • Jim Ross Details Stone Cold\’s Support After Cancer Diagnosis

Jim Ross is sadly battling cancer once again, this time in his colon, in the latest health concern for the legendary commentator. The pro wrestling world showed Ross a ton of support and now Ross has explained how Steve Austin supported him in a big way. On his Grilling JR podcast, JR discussed speaking with \’Stone Cold\’ over the phone after his diagnosis.

\”When we got off the phone, I looked at my phone and we’d talked for 43 minutes. Forty-three minutes. And here’s what your friends do: they call you, they talk to you, and at the end of the conversation, they tell you they love you. And that’s what Steve did.\”

Ross didn\’t disclose the entire context of their 43-minute conversation, but shared that Austin reassured him that he would beat cancer. The words from the iconic wrestler meant plenty to the man who had called so many of his matches.

\”\’Just ride it out. Tough it out.’ I said, ‘I’m going to put my uniform on and go play, and give the doctors and nurses everything they want.\”

For Ross, Austin’s phone call wasn’t just a kind gesture—it was a reminder of enduring friendship, and a source of strength during a difficult time. We at SEScoops are continuing to wish Mr. Ross the absolute best in this battle with cancer.

  • Steve Austin Talks WWE Unreal: \’Some Magic Should Stay Hidden\’

WWE Unreal will debut on Netflix this summer, offering fans an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at the creative process driving WWE programming. The upcoming series has sparked divided opinions—many fans eagerly anticipate the exclusive access, while others fear it might diminish wrestling\’s mystique by revealing too much of its inner workings.

During his appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, \’Stone Cold\’ Steve Austin made it clear he belongs in the latter camp. Describing himself as \”a little old school,\” Austin compared WWE Unreal to legendary magician Harry Houdini explaining the secrets behind his illusions.

\”I don\’t want him to tell me how he does it, I want to figure out how he does it. If I can\’t, then I\’ll keep wondering.\”

Austin\’s perspective resonates with many longtime fans. Paul Heyman, speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, voiced similar reservations. Describing himself as \”very old school,\” Heyman admitted he isn\’t enthusiastic about the concept behind WWE Unreal. Nevertheless, he pragmatically acknowledged, \”It\’s not for me to love,\” and that the show will move forward regardless of his personal stance.

Despite these concerns, WWE Unreal continues to build anticipation, with its trailer already revealing intriguing insights for both fans and performers alike. Just how extensively WWE plans to pull back the curtain on its storytelling process remains to be seen.

  • \’Follow Your Dreams!\’ – IYO SKY Reacts to Stone Cold\’s WrestleMania Praise

At WrestleMania 41, IYO SKY proved she will not be overlooked by retaining the Women\’s World Championship against Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair. In a recent behind-the-scenes look at WrestleMania 41, Stone Cold Steve Austin praised SKY following her victory.

\”That f***ing match was killer! That was a f***ing great match, very physical and f*** you did great. Congrats!\”

These comments hit SKY deeply given that they came from a true icon of WWE. Taking to X, SKY shared that \”life is beautiful\” and encouraged others to \”follow your dreams\” following the comments by Austin.

IYO SKY was in non-title action during the Raw after WrestleMania as the Women\’s World Champion battled WWE NXT Women\’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer. Their match was interrupted by Roxanne Perez and Giulia before Ripley made the save, showing she isn\’t through with the Genius of the Sky.

SKY\’s victory demonstrates WWE\’s immense faith in her as she defeated two women who have stood atop of the women\’s roster in WWE for years. And while the story heading into Las Vegas was that both Ripley and Belair were more focused on each other than the champion, Mami and the EST will never make that mistake again.

  • Logan Paul Says Steve Austin Refused $1 Million PRIME Costume Deal

Logan Paul is serious when it comes to promoting his PRIME brand, and wasn\’t afraid to offer \’Stone Cold\’ Steve Austin big money to sell the beverage. While speaking on the Impaulsive podcast, Logan shared that he and his team once made a huge offer to the Rattlesnake to done the Prime bottle costume before the Texas Rattlesnake said no.

\”We offered Steve a million dollars to be in the Prime bottle. He didn’t do it. Oh, he’s not the guy. I don’t care what number it is—he’s not getting in that bottle.\”

Appearances by Austin are a rarity in WWE, and fans will seemingly never see him parade around in the blue bottle worn by the likes of KSI and IShowSpeed. Paul believes that WWE fans would never have forgiven Steve if he\’d gotten inside the suit.

\”I don’t think he even considered it for a second. The WWE Universe would kill him. Imagine it—he face-revealed the Prime bottle.\”

Paul hasn\’t entirely given up hope, saying that Austin could don the bottle \”maybe one year.\” For now, don\’t expect to see the wrestling icon trading in his patented Steveweisers and cans of whoop-ass for a bottle of Paul\’s beverage.

  • Stone Cold Appears At WWE WrestleMania 41, Crashes ATV

WrestleMania 41: Sunday saw a special appearance from \’Stone Cold\’ Steve Austin, though his appearance in Allegiant Stadium did not go exactly to plan. Austin was on the scene to share the attendance for the Sunday show as 63,226, another sell-out. As Austin shared, this gave WrestleMania 41 a combined two-night total attendance of 124,693.

Austin paraded around the ring on his ATV as expected, but would collide with the barricade, knocking a female fan on the ground. Later on, Austin checked in on the fan, as did WWE President Nick Khan in a rare on-screen appearance on WWE programming.

Austin\’s collision with the barricade proves that anything can happen in the world of live entertainment, something Austin has learned first-hand for decades. While the Rattlesnake\’s appearance may not have gone exactly as hoped, it was an epic moment inside Allegiant Stadium.

  • Stone Cold Steve Austin Reacts To Abysmally Long Hall of Fame Ceremony

Steve Austin believes some changes are in order for Hall of Fame.

WWE tried to adjust the schedule for Hall of Fame this year after previous complaints but they only ended up making things worse. The ceremony this year took place in a different venue instead of being broadcasted from the same arena as SmackDown after the Blue Branded Show.

The event, however, started pretty late and kept going until 5 AM. Fans have been poking fun at the whole thing, sharing images of the stars in attendance looking miserable and drifting off.

The Texas Rattlesnake who was honored at the show discussed it during a WWE World appearance on Saturday. The Hall of Famer was asked what is the most recent thing Stone Cold Steve Austin has learned. The former World Champion joked that he\’s learned that Hall of Fame needs to be shorter:

\”I learned that the Hall of Fame ought to be a little bit shorter than what it was, and it ought to start about 3 or 4 hours sooner. I got to bed about, I don\’t know, about 3:15, I\’d call it 3:16. When I live in Nevada, I\’m a hermit. I see my wife but…and I spent a lot of time in the desert, so I don\’t hang out with a whole lot of people.

So once I\’ve been hanging around a whole lot of people, I kind of gotta decompress and do my own thing. So I drank a beer and I had a little bit of a bottle of wine left. I chilled out and finally, I went to sleep. And when that alarm clock went off, I was red-eyed and drunk. I said, \’Man, what the F,\’\”

Another person who would agree with Steve Austin is Shawn Michaels. HBK, who inducted Triple H into Hall of Fame, had to stick around until very late. With Stand & Deliver having an unusual start time of 1 PM ET, the NXT head got only an hour of sleep before having to take charge at the arena.

The biggest wrestling week of the year continues with WrestleMania Sunday tonight. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest updates.

  • Bret Hart & Steve Austin On What Made WrestleMania Clash So Special

At the WWE Hall of Fame, Bret Hart and Steve Austin\’s classic from WrestleMania 13 was inducted as the first recipient of the \’Immortal Moment\’ award. Speaking to a packed audience in Las Vegas, Hart explained that one attitbute above all others made the match great: respect.

\”That\’s how you do magic in wrestling, when you have trust and respect. You can\’t be a great wrestler without having that.\”

Bret enjoyed having respect with a lot of wrestlers but said he never had more mutual trust and respect than what he and Stone Cold shared. Humbled by Hart\’s comments, Austin admitted that he wasn\’t sure the finish of the match would work at the time.

\”I didn\’t think much of it, I kinda doubted it…. We went out there and had a hell of a match.\”

Though lauded among fans for decades, the bout was \”basic and simple\” according to Austin, who said that keeping matches to this winning formula will almost always guarantee success. Austin also made sure to thank Ken Shamrock for his involvement before sharing his issue with the World\’s Most Dangerous Man.

\”The only thing that p***ed me off is the sumb*tch is so jacked up! I mean hell, me and Bret look like s*** unlike Shamrock!\”

For the first WWE Immortal Moment, there\’s few matches more deserving than Hart and Austin. Nearly three decades later, the match has stood the test of time as two of wrestling\’s all-time greats doing what they do best.

  • John Cena to Steve Austin: See You Sunday

John Cena may have given his biggest clue yet that \’Stone Cold\’ Steve Austin will be a part of WWE WrestleMania 41. Taking to Instagram, Cena shared an image of Austin with his head replaced by Allegiant Stadium. Cena\’s message was clear; he expects to see the Texas Rattlesnake on Night Two.

As expected with his Instagram, Cena gave no caption to provide much-needed context. Nevertheless, fans immediately speculated in the comments that the WWE icon had all but revealed Austin\’s involvement with WrestleMania 41.

Rumors have circulated for months that Austin will appear at WrestleMania 41 after not appearing at last year\’s event. Austin has been appearing at the WWE World convention in Las Vegas, meaning he won\’t be far from Allegiant Stadium. Speaking in 2024 on the Unlikely podcast, Austin said he\’d be willing to offer Rhodes \”another hand,\” further suggesting a WrestleMania role.

Austin will soon receive his second Hall of Fame ring, this time as part of the first \’Immortal Moment\’ to be inducted. And while the Hall of Fame will be a celebration of the Rattlesnake\’s past, their may be some cans of whoop-ass being opened up in Stone Cold\’s future.

  • WWE Hall of Fame: Hart Vs. Austin Is First \’Immortal Moment\’ Inductee

The 2025 WWE Hall of Fame just got even bigger with a never-before-seen induction being confirmed. During the March 28, edition of WWE SmackDown, it was announced that the first ever match will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The match in question? None other than the WrestleMania 13 epic between Bret \’Hitman\’ Hart and \’Stone Cold\’ Steve Austin.

Though not the main event, the epic I-Quit match between Austin and Hart is what WrestleMania 13 is best remembered for. Given the bad blood between the two, WWE officials felt a standard referee could not keep the two in line. Enter, Ken Shamrock, the World\’s Most Dangerous Man, who served as the guest official. Shamrock\’s role at the event would pave the way for his own in-ring career.

Hart got the win, though not by forcing Austin to say the two dreaded words. In one of wrestling\’s most iconic moments, a bloodied Austin screamed through the pain of the sharpshooter before passing out. The moment signified that Hart was too tough to quit, earning him the neverending respect of the fans.

The WWE Hall of Fame will take place on April 18 with Triple H, Lex Luger, Michelle McCool, and the Natural Disasters confirmed to be inducted. With WWE now inducting matches and moments, it remains to be seen what fans will see inducted in the coming years.

Rollins played the \’Name the Face\’ game during his latest appearance on Good Morning Football where he correctly identified the Texas Rattlesnake. When asked to tell a story about the WWE Hall of Famer, Seth recalled his wife getting to share a moment with Steve Austin during the 3:16 Raw in 2020:

“Stone Cold is the reason I have a daughter. All right, flashback. In March 2020, everybody knows COVID shuts down the world, right? First show in WWE, post-COVID, post-shutdown, 3:16 Raw.

Customary for somebody to drink with Stone Cold in the ring. At the time, hottest thing in professional wrestling, my lovely incredible wife, The Man, Becky Lynch.\”

If It Wasn\’t For Steve Austin: Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins then joked that Becky decided that it was time to have the baby after that segment and he doesn\’t know if that would have been the case without the former world champion\’s TV appearance:

\”She happened to break open one, two, three, four cold ones with Stone Cold at the end of Raw. That night, she was like, ‘You know what? I think it’s time I take some time off to have a baby.’

Don’t know if she’d make that decision if it wasn’t for Stone Cold Steve Austin. So absolutely. Hell, yeah. Slam them back. Thanks, Steve. You\’re the man.”

The former Shield member also recently talked about his daughter\’s love for Moana and gave his opinion on The Rock as his boss. You can check out his comments on the matter here.

  • Stone Cold\’s WWE World Role Sparks WrestleMania 41 Talk

One fan questioned if this means Austin will appear at WrestleMania 41 while a more confident fan was sure that \”he’s definitely helping Cody\” in his battle against John Cena and The Rock.

Stone Cold at WrestleMania: What Do We Know?

Speaking to the Unlikely podcast in March 2025, Austin said that he hasn\’t spoken to WWE yet, but he will be around in Las Vegas. While questions remain about his status for the PLE, fans shouldn\’t be surprised if hell is raised or cans of whoop-ass are opened in Allegiant Stadium.

  • \’A Sh*t Move\’: Steve Austin Regrets Major WrestleMania Moment

Steve Austin has reflected on one of his most interesting WrestleMania moments.

The WWE Hall of Famer recently had an interview with Sports Illustrated. During the talk, he was asked about John Cena\’s heel turn at Elimination Chamber and what advice he would give to the Cenation Leader.

Responding to it, the Attitude Era star recalled his own failed heel turn from WrestleMania 17. Steve Austin said that he loved being a heel early in his career, but making the turn at the height of his popularity was a wrong move:

\”I loved working heel when I was in WCW. I loved working heel when I first came into WWE, because that was a true heel. When I turned heel at what WrestleMania 17, the people didn\’t want me to turn heel. It was a force to turn.

It was my idea. Vince always likes to do something big on a WrestleMania. So, I suggested that. And he said, okay, but it was a s**t move. People weren\’t ready for it. People didn\’t want it.\”

Should Have Never Done That: Steve Austin

Stone Cold Steve Austin challenged the Rock for the WWF Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 17. The bout saw Austin winning the title with help from Mr. McMahon, turning heel in the process. The Texas Rattlesnake altered his character a lot in the following months. This change, however, was not well received by fans and Austin ended up turning face again only a few months later.

Looking back at it, the WWE legend believes that he tried too hard. While he got to push the creative envelope very far, he does not have any advice for John Cena because the end result of his actions was not very favorable:

\”When I look back at it, sure, I got to push the creative envelope and do a lot of things that were cool or whatever, and, you know, push the envelope in a different direction and go out on a limb.

But, people didn\’t want me to turn heel, and so I should have never done that. So, I don\’t think that I\’m in a position that I need to offer John Cena any advice from Steve Austin.\”

Apart from this, Stone Cold Steve Austin also talked about his WrestleMania 38 match with Kevin Owens and revealed the one regret he has about the bout. You can check out his remarks on the matter here.

  • Stone Cold Steve Austin Reveals His One Regret About WrestleMania 38 Match

Stone Cold Steve Austin has revealed the one regret he has about his WrestleMania 38 encounter.

The Texas Rattlesnake returned to the ring after almost 19 years in 2022. Originally invited as a guest on the KO show, the Attitude Era star ended up having an impromptu match with Kevin Owens. The No Holds Barred match saw Austin defeating the former Universal Champion with a chair shot and a stunner.

The former World Champion talked about this encounter during a recent interview with Sports Illustrated. He noted that while he was happy in the moment, he wasn\’t able to train as well as he wanted beforehand as WWE did not send a ring to him:

\”When I went out there, I think I couldn\’t hear the crowd as much as I wanted to. When I watched it back, the crowd was into it. It was very, very loud, yes, but I wish I would have taken more time, savored more moments, and worked the people a little bit more than I did.\”

A Little Too Frantic: Steve Austin

According to Steve Austin, he was not sure what he had to offer because of the lack of training before the bout. He compensated by being a little too frantic than he needed to and the WWE Hall of Famer regrets not enjoying his time out there as much as he could have:

\”I think I was in a space of not knowing what I had and trying to be a little too frantic. I could have slowed down drastically and made that better. And I wish that I would have.

Steve Austin has not appeared on WWE TV since the WrestleMania 38 encounter. Though a lot of fans have been hoping for his appearance at the Show of Shows this year to help Cody Rhodes in his war against John Cena and The Rock. The wrestling veteran himself has also confirmed that he\’ll be in the area during the weekend and has not ruled out a potential appearance at the PPV.

  • ‘He Can Light Somebody Up’ – Steve Austin Strongly Endorses Top WWE Star\’s Mic Work

Stone Cold Steve Austin has praised the mic work of one of the current WWE stars in his own unique way.

The wrestling legend recently had an interview with Adrian Hernandez. He talked about things such as his recent knee replacement surgery, potential WrestleMania 41 appearance, and more.

During the interview, Steve Austin was also asked about his thoughts on CM Punk. The Attitude Era star first recalled the famous picture of himself with a younger Punk and said that he is a fan of the Straight Edge Star:

\”Well, me and Punk are friends from way back. There was a picture back from, you know, probably in my heyday and you know, he\’s a lot younger than I am and we got a picture there together and he\’s just a young kid. And so I think, you know, he was a Stone Cold fan back in the day and I\’m a CM Punk fan.\”

He Can Light Somebody Up: Stone Cold Steve Austin

Steve Austin who is considered one of the greatest mic workers of all time also offered big praise to CM Punk for his promo skills. He said that the current WWE star can light somebody up when he wants to:

\”I\’m a fan of his work and his promos. Jesus Christ, he can light somebody up. So, you know, we don\’t talk a whole lot. We\’ll send each other a text every now and then, but we\’re probably really, really good friends that don\’t talk a whole lot and have a lot of mutual respect for each other. I enjoy what he does.\”

CM Punk has never been shy about his appreciation for Austin\’s work either. He has named the Texas Rattlesnake as his dream opponent on multiple occasions.

  • WWE Topps Card Error Rewrites WrestleMania History

WWE & Topps have partnered once again to produce collectible trading cards which fans are already snatching up. While an incredibly-rare 1/1 triple-autographed card is already proving to be a highly-sought-after commodity, a different card in the set is raising attention for the wrong reasons.

One card in the latest wave celebrates \’Stone Cold\’ Steve Austin and includes a biography about the Texas Rattlesnake. Unfortunately, a production error means that the card claims Austin teamed with Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38 in April 2022. In reality, the two were adversaries on the night and Austin would defeat Owens in his first match in close to two decades.

This isn\’t the first time a WWE trading card has been inaccurate. A few years ago, a card claimed that The Miz\’s eight reigns as Intercontinental Champion were the most of any wrestler. In reality, AEW\’s Chris Jericho holds the record at nine.

Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 41

Talk has grown in recent weeks about Austin potentially being a part of WrestleMania 41. The WWE Hall of Famer has previously confirmed that he will be in Las Vegas this weekend, but has claimed WWE has not contacted him for the Premium Live Event.

With John Cena turning heel and aligning with The Rock, some have predicted that Austin may back up Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania. Cena recently teased doing something with Austin via an Instagram post, though as usual, gave no explanation. Whether Austin has a role to play this April or not, fans are eager to see the Rattlesnake, who fought Kevin Owens in 2022, despite what this card may claim.
