    Killer Kross and Scarlett are happy being independent.

    The former WWE duo spoke to TV Insider for a new interview after Kross recently won his first world title since leaving the Endeavor-owned promotion last year. They talked about things such as their first date, separating work and personal life, and more.

    When asked how their perspective has changed since leaving WWE, Killer Kross first mentioned that they\’re experiencing things they were not able to while being part of the big machine. Scarlett then jumped in to say that their priority right now is finding the best stories and having fun:

    \”We are also not desperate for a contract. We weren’t sure if we wanted to jump straight into another major company. The thing is we are enjoying ourselves right now that we realized what we are looking for is the best story and having the most fun. Wherever we go, as long as we’re enjoying ourselves and telling a great story and the audience is enjoying themselves, that’s where we want to be.\”

    Killer Kross later noted that being able to work independently has been good for their mental health as well. They have been able to foster trust and equity with various companies which has been great for them.

    The former WWE star won the MLW World Title in a 40-man battle royal also involving names such as Austin Aries, Donovan Dijak, Bishop Dyer, and Matt Riddle. You can check out the full event featuring the match below:

  • Harley Cameron on Debut Match With Ex-WWE Star Scarlett: “I Was Instantly Hooked”

    Harley Cameron has been finding her stride in the professional wrestling world lately but the beginning of her journey served as a way to indicate she would go on to achieve big things. Cameron’s debut in-ring effort came against former WWE star Scarlett and Cameron delved into this anecdote during an appearance on Marking Out with MVP & Dwayne Swayze.

    Touching upon her first pro wrestling match against someone who has risen to be a notable star in their own right, Cameron said,

    “I do remember my first match. It went 13 minutes, I don’t know how, and the feedback afterwards was pretty long. It was against Scarlett Bordeaux actually, at Wrestle Pro, run by Kevin and Pat.”

    “It was Scarlett’s first time back on the independent scene when they first left WWE, and she was a friend of mine.”

    “[she] did me a favour and said ‘I’m about to have my first match back on the independent scene, and I want it to be with you.’ It was very nice of her, obviously I was so excited, but terrified.”

    “I still remember, sometimes I like to watch it back to appreciate how far I’ve come, but also for a good laugh if you want to check it out you’ll see how green I was. If you think I’m green now, fuck guys, check it out.”

    “But that was my first start, and I remember it went 13 minutes, and I was instantly hooked. Then my second match of my life was on AEW Dark.”

    Harley Cameron and when she asked for help ahead of one of her biggest matches

    Harley Cameron has had several notable matches since that Scarlett debut and the former had to look for some help ahead of a particularly big bout earlier in 2025. In February at AEW Grand Slam Australia, Cameron took on TBS champion Mercedes Mone and the build up to the Mone bout was intensive.

    Cameron mentioned, during the same podcast interview referenced above, that several private sessions were had with her coaches amid constant brainstorming efforts regarding potential spots for the Mone matchup. The refinement processes were in the pursuit of being so thorough about everything that Cameron could take solace in the performance being representative of the best she was able to do.

    Despite taking a loss against Ultimo Mone in the first quarter of the calendar year, it was clearly a big growth moment for Harley Cameron who is currently in pursuit of AEW women’s tag team gold along with tag partner Willow Nightingale.

  • Karrion Kross Reveals Weird Backstage Interaction After Famous WrestleMania Promo

    Karrion Kross has revealed a weird talent relations interaction in WWE.

    The former WWE star and his wife, Scarlett, recently had an interview with Chris Van Vliet. They talked about things such as their contract negotiations before leaving the company, working with Final Testament and more.

    During the interview, the former NXT champion also discussed the infamous worked-shoot promo that went viral around the WrestleMania 41 weekend.

    Kross revealed some previously unknown details about how the people within the company reacted to the promo, mentioning that someone from talent relations reached out to him the night after:

    \”I get a phone call from somebody in talent relations, and he says, ‘Creative is not happy. There’s heat. They’re pissed.’

    I was like, Well, I apologize about that. Let me go take care of that right now. I have a great relationship with them. They’re right across the hall. He’s like uh, I said, ‘No, no, dude, this is my fault. Let me take care of it. No problem.’\”

    What\’s Going On?: Karrion Kross

    Not wanting to be on bad terms with the creative, Karrion Kross talked to writers in person. Things got weird, however, when the writers denied being mad about the whole thing and the wrestling star eventually learned that it was Triple H who was unhappy:

    \”I go across the hall. I speak to some of the writers, explain everything. They’re like, ‘We have no idea what you’re talking about. We haven’t talked to that guy in two weeks.’ Some of them didn’t even see it. So I was like, What’s going on here?

    So I walk around the building and just looking at everything, everyone’s saying, Hello, everything feels fine. I call him back, no answer. The next day, no answer. I think it was like the third day he finally picked up. He’s like, ‘Yeah, I shouldn’t have said it that way. I apologize; it was actually Hunter.’ \”

    Karrion Kross revealed that the person never spoke to Triple H to clear his standing. The former champion did eventually get to talk to the WWE Executive and cleared the air on the viral promo. According to Kross, The Game understood where he was coming from and was cool about the whole thing.

  • Scarlett Bordeaux Says In-Ring Return Coming After WWE Exit

    Former WWE Superstar Scarlet Bordeaux is ready to get back in the ring as a competitor after spending her WWE run as a manager. Speaking to Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture, Scarlett shared that she and husband Killer/Karrion Kross are going to \”put on killer matches\” in due time. Scarlett added that she\’ll be tagging with someone who helped train her and though she didn\’t name names, added that \”I\’m really excited about it.\”

    Scarlett is \”nervous\” about an in-ring return, but is confident that she still has \’it.\’ The Smokeshow recalled facing Rhea Ripley in her first match in over a year at a WWE live event, and being told by both Chris \’Abyss\’ Park and Molly Holly that the pair \”killed it.\” Summing up her mentality, Bordeaux said \”I just try to remember who the f*** I am. I’m f***ing ready.”

    Bordeaux hasn\’t competed since December 2024 when she worked a mixed tag match with the Final Testament against the Wyatt Sicks. During her recent WWE run, Scarlett had just two matches on TV, both of which same in June 2023.

    Time will tell if Scarlett can shake off the ring rust and deliver whenever she is back in the ring. One thing for certain is that she plans to give it her all now outside of WWE.

    Karrion Kross and Scarlett are asking for top-tier rates on the independent wrestling scene following their WWE departure, it has been claimed. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, someone involved in indie wrestling mentioned the couple is charing a \”very high price tag\” for their services.

    While no figure was given in the report, this reported price tag reflects that the star power the pair would bring to an event. The source added that after their conversation with Kross and Scarlett \”they weren’t buying any of this regarding the WWE departure.\”

    Many have been skeptical about whether Kross and Scarlett have actually left WWE, though Kross has claimed this is not a \’work.\’ Given recent circumstances, including Seth Rollins\’ fake injury, it\’s not difficult to see why some fans aren\’t exactly trusting what Kross is claiming.

    The couple\’s next confirmed appearance is at The Big Event NY’s “EXS Entertainment x Sports Expo” on November 15. It remains to be seen what\’s next for the pair, but they\’re certainly not afraid to charge big for their services.

    Karrion Kross is shedding light on how his relationship with Scarlett came about, and how the former NXT Champion broke his own rule in the name of love. Speaking on the Stories With Brisco and Bradshaw podcast, Kross recalled seeing his future wife for the first time.

    “I met her at a wrestling show and it was one of those types of things where you lock eyes with a woman and you know that something could happen.\”

    Kross instantly felt pulled to Scarlett, despite his rule forbidding work-based relationships. At the time, Kross told himself that mixing his professional and romantic lives wouldn\’t end well.

    “I always had a policy — I absolutely do not want to intermingle with anybody at work… I never really messed around with people at work.”

    Kross and Scarlett tried to keep their distance, but fate had other plans. After being put together by Konnan during events in Mexico, sparks began to fly.

    \”It wasn’t long after that we were dating. The cool part about it was her and I became very good friends before we started dating.\”

    Kross and Scarlett got engaged in 2021 and would marry atop an Alaskan glacier in April the following year. While questions remain as to what\’s next for the pair post-WWE, their bond remains stronger than ever.

    \”That’s what I was known for on the indies before. Having a singles match against Dom Mysterio—that would be amazing.\”

    While Scarlett has competed at WWE live events in mixed tag-team matches, she is ready for a bigger role in WWE and in intergender competition. It remains to be seen whether the \’Smokeshow\’ gets the chance to prove what she can do in the ring away from her husband.

    On the April 14, edition of WWE Raw, Karrion Kross lost to AJ Styles in a brutal match between the two. Speaking after the match, the former NXT Champion lamented his defeat in his first match on Monday Night Raw since July of 2024.

    Focusing back on the match, Kross shared that he\’s also pleased to see a \”sliver\” of the AJ Styles that the Phenomenal One needs to show if he wants to beat Logan Paul at WrestleMania 41. Concluding, Kross encouraged Styles to embrace a darker side to himself, not just for his match with Paul, but beyond.

    \”AJ, do what needs to be done tomorrow. Do what needs to be done the next day and the day after that, after that, until you get to Mania and then moving forward.\”

    Kross has been trying to brink a darker side out of Styles and his match on Raw was a masterclass in mindgames. As noted on commentary, Kross donned tights designed by the same person who creates AJ\’s gear. Late into the match, Kross smiled as he realized Styles was setting up for a Phenomenal Forearm. Rather than dodge the move, Kross put his arms behind his back to take the hit.

    It remains to be seen if Styles stands tall at WrestleMania, and if he does, whether it\’ll be down to Kross\’ mental games. Nevertheless, Karrion Kross was pleased with what he saw from Styles, despite taking the loss on Raw to the former WWE Champion.

    Nikki Cross pulled off quite the unique counter when she battled Scarlett during a recent eight-person tag-team match. At WWE\’s Boxing Day live event in Madison Square Garden, Cross and the Wyatt Sicks answered the open challenge made by the Final Testament. When Scarlett sought to add insult to injury by delivering a stinkface, Cross bit back, literally, by sinking her teeth on the buttocks of the \’Smokeshow.\’

    This match was certainly one to remember for Scarlett, who currently boasts a 5-7 record in WWE matches. Despite her team’s loss, the event held personal significance for her, as it coincided with the 15th anniversary of her debut in pro wrestling.

  • Philadelphia Street Fight Expected to Be Added to WWE WrestleMania 40 Card

    The WWE Universe could be in store for a Philadelphia Street Fight in a matter of days at WWE WrestleMania 40, it has been claimed. 

    WrestleMania 40 will be the promotion\’s fifth two-night WrestleMania, a tradition that began in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The show will take place on April 6 and April 7 from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA.

    As of writing, 12 matches have been confirmed for WWE WrestleMania 40. Dave Melzer of F4W Online reports that 13 matches will take place at WrestleMania. This will be divided over the two nights with seven matches on WrestleMania 40: Saturday and six matches taking place on WrestleMania 40: Sunday.

    A Philadelphia Street Fight

    Meltzer adds that the Street Profits & Bobby Lashley vs. Karrion Kross & Authors of Pain was made \”obvious\” during the March 29, episode of WWE SmackDown but has yet to be announced. It\’s also noted that as of last week, it was booked within WWE to be a \’Philadelphia Street Fight.\’

    On SmackDown, the Profits faced Grayson Waller & Austin Theory in a tag-team ladder match qualifier. Karrion Kross and Scarlett attacked Lashley and B-Fab backstage with the distraction costing the Profits the match.

  • Factions of Bobby Lashley & Karrion Kross Get Confirmed New Names

    Faction warfare is set to unfold on WWE SmackDown with the groups led by Bobby Lashley and Karrion Kross both getting names this week. 

    Last year, Lashley returned to WWE programming and immediately aligned himself with the Street Profits. The faction has proven to be a force to be reckoned with on SmackDown though have so far been unable to capture championship gold so far. The All Mighty is seeking to bring out a new level of aggression from Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins. 

    Bobby Lashley\’s Faction Name

    Before this week\’s SmackDown, it was reported that The Pride was the expected name of Lashley\’s faction. On Twitter, Lashley confirmed this new name for the group, as he stated in his Twitter bio that he was the leader of The Pride. Interestingly though, Lashley would change his bio shortly after to remove all references to The Pride. His bio currently reads as:

    Lashley\’s faction didn\’t confirm its new name on this week\’s SmackDown, but Karrion Kross\’ group did. On last week\’s Smackdown, Kross and the returning AOP attacked Lashley, while Scarlett and Paul Ellering watched on. 

    During this week\’s show, Lashley called out AOP and Kross but only received Ellering. The legendary manager pointed to the titantron where a video promo from Kross played. In it, the two-time former WWE NXT Champion confirmed his group\’s name as The Final Testament.

  • AOP Returns to WWE, Forms new faction with Karrion Kross

    WWE brought New Year\’s Revolution for fans on SmackDown on January 5th. The show also marked the return of a pair of former Tag Team Champions.

    AOP Returns To WWE

    During WWE SmackDown this week, Akam and Rezar made their long-awaited return to WWE television. This went down in Vancouver, and fans were very excited to witness WWE history first-hand.

    The Authors of Pain were paired up with Karrion Kross and Scarlett. They will battle Bobby Lashley and the Street Profit\’s new trio to start things out for themselves in the WWE landscape once again.

    AOP made their return during SmackDown, as they interrupted a promo from Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits. After revealing Paul Ellering on the entrance ramp, Akam and Rezar laid waste to Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits. Karrion Kross then joined them in the ring to finish Lashley off.

    The segment concluded with Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits laid out in the middle of the ring. Karrion Kross and the newly returned AOP stood tall.

    Who are AOP?

    Authors of Pain achieved the WWE NXT Tag Team Championship once, and also secured the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship on one occasion. Additionally, they clinched the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic in 2016.

    Hints About AOP\’s WWE Return

    Hints about the Authors of Pain\’s return to WWE have been impossible to avoid at this point. Akam and Rezar were teased to join Karrion Kross.

    AOP\’s return is a long time coming, as rumors of their comeback have been going around for a while. Now they are back on WWE television, so Triple H can book them in his vision. 

  • Karrion Kross & Scarlett Were Planning to Start a Family Before WWE Return

    WWE Superstars Karrion Kross and Scarlett were planning to start a family last year until a fateful call from Chief Content Officer Triple H put that on hold.

    It might have surprised fans when WWE decided to release Kross and Scarlett on Nov. 4, 2021. The couple had great success in NXT, with Kross winning the NXT Championship twice. However, WWE had different creative plans for them on the main roster by separating them and changing Kross\’s character. Ultimately, Kross\’s first run with the company didn\’t work out, and both talents found themselves as free agents last year.

    While in free agency, Kross and Scarlett could work together and compete for different independent wrestling promotions. In their time away from WWE, the couple decided they wanted to start a family. However, when Triple H called Kross about himself and Scarlett returning to the company, he and his wife halted their plans.

    In an interview with My San Antonio, Kross spoke about the call from Triple H to return. MY San Antonio\’s Nick Talbot transcribed the following quotes.

    “He called us up and he said, ‘Do you want to come home?” And I responded, “Well, like, yeah.’ And then he was like, ‘All right. Here is my next question. Can you be here in a day and a half?’ And we\’re like, ‘That\’s pretty fast.’ You know, we had all these different bookings and different things going on.\”

    We had our lives planned out. I mean, and people don\’t even know this, we\’re thinking about maybe even having a kid, you know, or thinking about starting a family. And we looked at each other – and her and I have always been telepathic, even before we were married or dating — so, we just kind of gave each other a look and we knew what page we\’re on. And we\’re like, ‘Yeah, we can do that.

    Karrion Kross Plans for Royal Rumble 2023

    Kross will compete in his first Royal Rumble event this weekend. He is looking forward to his first Royal Rumble appearance and hopes to have an impressive performance. \”In a perfect world, I\’d like to set some sort of record. I\’d really like to do it,\” said Kross(h/t Nick Talbot). He also shared in the interview that he hopes he could enter at number one.

    \”You know what, if I could, I would come out number one. I would love to do that. To be able to go out there and demonstrate your grit and how much fight you actually have. I need to have the opportunity to get in front of that many people and fight them all at once. I live for stuff like that,\” said Kross(h/t Nick Talbot).

    Before competing at the Royal Rumble, he will have to compete against Rey Mysterio on the Jan. 27 episode of Friday Night Smackdown. Since his return on Aug. 5, 2022, Kross has only lost one match to former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. A decisive win by Kross this Friday could indicate how WWE will utilize him in the Royal Rumble match.

  • \”Internal Error\” Caused WWE SmackDown Superstars to Miss Dark Match

    WWE Superstar Scarlett was close to having her first match in over a year for the company this week, before being pulled from the SmackDown post-show dark match.

    Scarlett was released from WWE in November 2021 along with her husband Karrion Kross but both returned in August of this year.

    Since then, Kross has been prominently featured on TV but Scarlett is yet to have a televised match in a WWE ring.

    Dark Match

    After this week\’s SmackDown went off the air, Braun Strowman, Madcap Moss, Matt Riddle, and Liv Morgan defeated Joaquin Wilde, Cruz del Toro, Damian Priest, and Zelina Vega.

    Sources who spoke to 411 Mania have said that the original plan was for a six-person tag, pitting Riddle, Strowman, and Morgan against Priest, Kross, and Scarlett.

    Plans for Kross and Scarlett were set \”long before Friday’s taping\” but the Smokeshow was never told about her match.

    A source said that if Scarlett was told about the match at the taping, it would have been \”news to her.\”

    It is believed that there was an internal error or the match was just pitched and shot down before Friday\’s taping.

    Despite being a trained wrestler in her own right, Scarlett has had just a handful of matches in WWE.

    During the Boxing Day 2016 episode of Raw, Bordeaux was used as enhancement talent and was quickly squashed by Nia Jax.

    Last year, Scarlett, now with her own character, competed in a dark match for the June 25, 2021, SmackDown taping, in a losing effort to Shotzi.

  • Damian Priest Passed on Being Managed by Another Wrestler\’s Wife in NXT

    Damian Priest passed on the opportunity to be managed by Scarlett during both star\’s tenures as part of the WWE NXT brand.

    After making his name in Ring of Honor as Punishment Martinez, Priest joined WWE in 2018 and captured the NXT North American Championship in August 2020.

    The Archer of Infamy has had similar success on the main roster, becoming the WWE United States Champion at Summerslam 2021.

    Manager

    Priest can nowadays be seen alongside his fellow Judgment Day members but WWE once planned for him to be managed by Scarlett.

    Fightful Select reports that when NXT jumped to the USA Network in late 2019, plans were made to introduce Scarlett to TV.

    The plan for the \’Smokeshow\’ to manage Priest dated as far back as September that year, and sources said that some in WWE thought the act was going to make it to TV up until the week it was nixed.

    Priest reportedly felt the idea was not a good fit for him and passed on the spot.

    Had he gone ahead with the plan, Priest and Scarlett would have been on NXT as a unit within the first few weeks of NXT on the USA Network.

    After Priest passed on the idea, Scarlett\’s character was put on the back burner, as Kross had not signed with WWE at that time.

    Once WWE knew for sure he would be signing, plans were put in place for the real-life couple to be paired on-screen.

    Those that spoke to Fightful said that everything worked out better for all involved.

    Kross and Scarlett were released in November 2021 but returned to WWE in July this year.

  • Karrion Kross & Scarlett to Appear at Indie Events Despite WWE Return

    On the post-Summerslam 2022 edition of SmackDown, Karrion Kross and Scarlett returned to WWE.

    The pair had been released in November 2021 as part of \’budget cuts\’ mere months after WWE had promoted the two-time former NXT Champion to the main roster.

    Kross made an impact upon his return to WWE, attacking Drew McIntyre and facing off with Roman Reigns.

    Making Appearances

    Prior to his return to WWE, Kross (under the name Killer Kross) appeared for several promotions, including Chikara, CYN, MLW and NJPW Strong.

    On Twitter, Kross confirmed that from now on, he will only be competing in WWE rings and on WWE TV.

    However, the company is allowing both Kross and Scarlett to appear at independent events that had already been booked prior to the duo\’s return to WWE.

    Kross made it clear these appearances will be for meet-and-greets only and that fans should not expect either of them to wrestle.

    The SmackDown Superstar added that he will only appear if the event does not overlap with his WWE schedule which takes precedence.

    The Main Event

    While Kross\’ first stint on WWE\’s main roster, his return has been an incredible sight to behold.

    Upon returning, Kross has been thrust into the main event scene, involving himself in the storyline between WWE\’s arguable two biggest stars (Reigns and McIntyre.)

    It is believed that Kross and McIntyre will feud after WWE Clash at the Castle next month.

    There have been reports that WWE is planning for Reigns to face Kross at Survivor Series 2022 this coming November.

  • Backstage News on Karrion Kross & Scarlett Making WWE Return

    We have some news to pass along regarding Karrion Kross and Scarlett returning to WWE.

    PWInsider reports that, after Karrion Kross and Scarlett were released last year, they maintained regular communication with WWE. With that being said, the regime change worked out in their favor.

    Also, Kross and Scarlett have been added to the WWE\’s internal SmackDown roster. Kross is to be positioned as the number two heel on the program behind Roman Reigns. As for Scarlett, she\’ll be managing Kross and isn\’t expected to wrestle regularly.

    Of course, that could always change down the road. It\’s also believed that the pair will fulfill their remaining obligations on the independent circuit as much as possible. Kross and Scarlett made their returns on last week\’s episode of SmackDown Live.

    Kross attacked Drew McIntyre during a promo segment with Roman Reigns. His return, alongside Scarlett, closed out the show. Kross had initially signed with WWE in February of 2020.

    During his run with the company, Kross was assigned to the NXT brand along with Scarlett, where he reigned as NXT Champion twice. They were later granted a release from their contracts in November of 2021.

    Since, Kross has been competing on the independent circuit; as well as for various other promotions such as Major League Wrestling (MLW), New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), and others.

    Now, it seems Kross has found himself a favorable position in WWE on the main roster.

  • Killer Kross & Scarlett Got Married on a Glacier (Video)

    Former WWE Superstars Killer Kross (Kevin Kesar) and Scarlett Bordeaux (Elizabeth Chihaia) are now married.

    The couple recently took a helicopter ride to a glacier in Alaska for their \”very private\” ceremony. Kross posted a video online recapping their magical event.

    He provided the following note:

    \”Hello Everyone, Elizabeth and I have recently eloped- we’re married!

    We flew to Alaska, hopped on a helicopter and flew to a glacier for a very private ceremony (then wrestled the next day, naturally).

    We initially weren’t going to share this footage but after further discussing it; we’d actually like to do so and say thank you so much for all the support we get from you all.

    Whether you’re a fan, friend or family- you have all participated in brining joy into our lives.

    The couple wrestled for WrestlePro Alaska in Anchorage on April 9th, so it seems the wedding took place April 8th. They announced their engagement back in September.
