  • Saraya Teases 2026 Plans, Training for \’NXT Paige\’

Saraya says she followed through on her promise — and 2026 is shaping up to be a big year. Speaking with MuscleManMalcolm on the Muscle Memory podcast at WrestleVerse Anime Fest in Houston, the former WWE and AEW star confirmed she returned to in-ring training in January, teased a packed schedule ahead, and invoked \”NXT Paige\” as the standard she intends to meet.

\”I\’m just trying to get my lick back,\” Saraya said. \”I miss wrestling. I lost my passion for it for a second. I told people months ago I was getting back in the ring in January and I did just that — and I\’m having such a great time.\”

The confirmation follows through on a promise Saraya made publicly late last year. She previously told Wrestling With Freddie that she started training in January and pushed back on skeptics who assumed it was a Royal Rumble ploy, insisting she had been telegraphing the move for months.

    \”NXT Paige\” Is the Benchmark

The most pointed moment of the interview came when Saraya raised the bar on what a return would look like.

\”If I was to ever come back to wrestling, I\’ll be better than I was before,\” she said. \”NXT Paige.\”

That\’s a deliberate reference. NXT Paige, the version of the character that captivated fans before her main roster call-up and eventual injury, is widely considered the peak of her in-ring work.

When pressed about what 2026 actually holds, she kept her cards close.

\”2026 is looking really great. I have a busy schedule ahead of me — and that\’s about it. Yeah, that\’s all I\’m giving you.\”

Dream Tag Partners and Her Waffle House Crew

The rapid-fire portion of the interview produced some of the most quotable Saraya moments in recent memory. Asked who she\’d pick as a tag team partner given the current state of the WWE Women\’s Tag Division, she didn\’t hesitate. \”

AJ, baby, of course — my fairy godmother,\” she said, before adding Rhea Ripley as her backup pick with a playful apology: \”If I couldn\’t have my girl AJ, I would pick Rhea Ripley. Sorry. Sorry, G — my steel rock.\”

The Waffle House fight crew question, a fan-favorite recurring bit on the channel, got an equally colorful answer. Saraya went immediately to the Samoans. \”Tamina [Snuka], Nia [Jax] — they got headbutts on them, dude,\” she said, before rounding out the squad with Ripley and a shoutout to a revitalized Natalya.

When the host noted that Natalya \”doesn\’t elevate, she decimates,\” Saraya co-signed without hesitation: \”She decimates, baby. She does.\”

    What Fans Mean to Her

The interview\’s most emotionally substantive moment came when Saraya reflected on the feedback she\’s been receiving from fans on the convention circuit. \”A lot of them have been saying stuff about obviously sobriety, which is amazing,\” she said. \”But a lot of guys and girls have said I taught them how to be themselves — and it\’s good to be the weirdo, the misfit, the outcast. Like that promo I did. And that hit home for them.\”

She summed up her motivation simply: \”As long as I can help people be themselves, that\’s all I give a f*** about.\”

Saraya also confirmed her Rule Breakers podcast has wrapped its first season, with Season 2 on the way. She\’s active across X, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube — all under the Saraya handle, with the podcast living on its own YouTube channel.

Saraya has previously said she prefers the Paige persona for any potential return and pushed back on characterizations that she\’s actively seeking a WWE job, noting she only addresses the topic when asked. Whether her confirmed training and deliberately vague 2026 tease signal something imminent remains to be seen — but she\’s clearly laying the groundwork.

  • Bella Twins Want Saraya Back in WWE, Saraya Responds

The Bella Twins have expressed their desire to see Saraya return to WWE, and the former WWE Divas and AEW Women\’s world Champion sounds into it.

On Twitter, the Bellas reacted to a video celebrating themselves, Saraya, and AJ Lee as the ‘Four HorseDivas’ of WWE. The WWE Hall of Fame duo loved the tribute to the quartet and added that, with both of them and Lee back in WWE, they need Saraya back.

This earned a response from Saraya, who loved that Nikki and Brie want to see her as part of WWE once more.

Saraya remains a free agent, and has expressed desire in finishing her wrestling career with WWE. She\’d hoped to make her grand return at the Royal Rumble last month, but said WWE never reached out to her.

  • Saraya Opens Up About WWE Not Calling for Royal Rumble

Saraya recently opened up about missing the 2026 Royal Rumble and her renewed passion for wrestling during an interview with Wrestling With Freddie.

The former WWE and AEW star addressed viral training videos that sparked speculation about a surprise Rumble appearance. With 18 million views across platforms, the overwhelming fan support moved her to tears.

\”I cried one day because of it cuz I\’m just like, I can\’t believe people still love me,\” Saraya said. \”I thought I had lost all that support because of like all my controversy.\”

    Missing Her Rumble Dream

During the conversation, Freddie Prinze Jr. revealed his vision of Saraya returning to WWE as a surprise Rumble entrant. The moment carried extra weight — WWE held the first-ever women\’s Royal Rumble shortly before she announced her career-ending injury in 2018.

Backstage footage from that historic event shows Saraya crying in Gorilla position, devastated to miss the match she\’d dreamed of competing in.

\”I was backstage in Gorilla, and you know, I\’m really emotional, and they have images of me backstage just crying, just being like, \’This is what I\’ve always dreamed of,\’\” she recalled.

\”So that video was viral as well, and everyone\’s just like hoping that I was gonna be in this Rumble that I finally get to be a part of that I\’ve always dreamed of being a part of.\”

Regarding her absence from this year\’s match, Saraya made it clear the decision wasn\’t hers to make.

\”I wish I was part of it, but there\’s more to it. I mean, WWE has to make that decision, you know, not me.\”

Falling Out of Love With Wrestling in AEW

Saraya candidly discussed losing her passion during her AEW tenure, despite enjoying aspects of her time with the company.

\”I loved being in AEW. I had so much fun, but you know, the character I was doing, I wasn\’t too happy with, and I wish I could have done certain matches and certain things, and it didn\’t come to be,\” she explained. \”I just kind of fell out of love with it.\”

That realization sparked her commitment to serious training starting in January 2025. \”I need to be the Paige that I was in NXT, but better, you know? I can do it at 33 still. You know, I still got it.\”

Saraya last wrestled on a Title Tuesday edition of AEW Dynamite in October 2024, losing a No. 1 Contendership Fatal 4-Way bout. She parted ways with AEW in March 2025.

    Training For Potential WWE Return

The former NXT Women\’s Champion emphasized she\’s approaching her training with complete seriousness, not just for social media attention.

\”I started training in January, and I had told people I was going to start doing that months ago, and everyone thought I was just posting it for the Rumble. I was like, \’No, I\’ve been telling you guys, training in January. I\’m doing this,\’\” Saraya said.

She made a bold promise about the quality fans could expect if she returns to wrestling. \”If I was to come back, I\’ll be better than you\’ve ever seen me. I can promise you that.\”

Whether Saraya will get her long-awaited opportunity to compete in a women\’s Royal Rumble match remains to be seen, but she appears open to the idea if WWE reaches out.

  • WWE Rumors: Saraya Rumble Status, Saudi Rumor Killer

Happy Saturday! We’ve got Saturday Night’s Main Event, then it’s a short runway to next weekend’s Royal Rumble premium live event from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Here’s our WWE rumor roundup for January 24, 2026, running down the latest unconfirmed speculation that fans are buzzing about:

WWE Rumors: Saraya Available for Royal Rumble Return?

Speculation is building regarding a potential WWE return for Saraya. The multi-time Women’s world Champion has been actively training, shaking off ring rust, fueling the WWE rumors of an imminent comeback.

Adding fuel to the fire, Saraya\’s availability for the Royal Rumble has been confirmed. She was originally scheduled to appear at Nashville Celebrity Comic Con, which coincided with the Rumble. However, the convention has been rescheduled to February 7th and 8th, freeing up Saraya and other wrestling names like Matt and Jeff Hardy, Lita, Trish Stratus, and Kane. This WWE rumors development significantly increases the chances of seeing Saraya in the Women\’s Royal Rumble match.

Rumor Killer: 3 Saudi Arabia PLEs Planned for 2026

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that WWE is planning to run three premium live events this year, but that is not the case – and the correction comes from a very high placed source: Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority (GEA),

WWE Rumor: Major Overseas Event to Combat AEW All In?

As AEW gears up for another All In event in London, WWE rumors suggest that WWE is planning a major overseas event to directly compete with AEW\’s ticket sales.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is considering running a significant show around the same time to counter AEW\’s presence in the UK market.

Potential Booking for Styles vs. Gunther

With AJ Styles\’ career on the line against Gunther at the Royal Rumble, the outcome is uncertain. WWE rumors suggest that a potential scenario could see Styles defeating Gunther, only for Gunther to win the Royal Rumble later in the night.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a loss for Gunther “without that redemption at the end of the show makes no sense.” Winning the Royal Rumble would restore his aura heading into WrestleMania season. The logic checks out, but this one appears to be just connecting dots right now.

  • Saraya Makes Surprise Indie Appearance With WWE Entrance Theme

Former WWE and AEW star Saraya made a surprise appearance at Insane Wrestling Revolution\’s Season\’s Beatings Fest event on December 27, 2025, in Monroe, Michigan, marking her first indie wrestling appearance since becoming a free agent.

The former two-time WWE Divas Champion and AEW Women\’s World Champion entered using her iconic WWE entrance theme \”Stars in the Night,\” the CFO$-produced track she used during her time as Paige in WWE from 2014 onwards.

The appearance at IWR 41, held at the Frenchtown Township Community and Event Center, comes as Saraya has been exploring opportunities outside of major wrestling promotions. The indie promotion is co-owned by ECW legend Rhino and Gary Pillette.

Saraya departed AEW in March 2025 after mutually agreeing to part ways with the company, despite having six months remaining on her contract. Her last match was on the October 8, 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite against Jamie Hayter in a \”Saraya\’s Rules\” match.

    https://x.com/saraya/status/2005096989156110752?s=46

The British wrestling star recently revealed plans to resume training in January 2026, telling the Toronto Sun, \”I am starting to get the bug for it again. I\’ve just found this new love for it again, and I\’ve found this new passion for it again. I\’m going to get into training in January, and we\’ll see where that takes me.\”

Her appearance at the Monroe event could signal the beginning of her return to active competition after taking most of 2025 off to focus on other projects, including her \”Rulebreakers\” podcast and memoir \”Hell in Boots: Clawing My Way Through Nine Lives.\”

  • Saraya Details Inappropriate Fan Encounter at Chicago Signing, Criticizes Security Response

Saraya revealed that a male fan slapped her buttocks three times during a recent autograph signing in Chicago, and criticized security for failing to intervene in the moment. Speaking on the December 4 episode of her Rulebreakers podcast, the former AEW Women’s World Champion shared her frustration while discussing a broader pattern of fans crossing boundaries with female performers.

The conversation arose while Saraya and her guests were discussing Ariana Grande being accosted by a fan at the Wicked: For Good premiere.

“Lately, I feel there’s been an influx of certain fans feeling way too comfortable to be grabbing on females,” Saraya said. “Just this past weekend in Chicago, a fan decided he wanted to slap my ass three times in a row because he thought it was funny, and security didn’t do a f**king thing.”

Security only approached her after the incident had occurred.

“They ended up coming up to me afterwards and were like, ‘Do you want us to escort him out?’ But it was already nearly done. It was just like—it’s too late in the day.”

She was eventually assigned a dedicated security guard for the remainder of the event.

“They did give me a security guard in the end and he was great, which is fine, but the fans are getting way too comfortable,” she said.

    Not the First Incident

Saraya noted this was her second inappropriate fan encounter in 2025. “This is the second time this year a fan has touched me, tried to kiss me, and slap my ass,” she said, adding that while most fans are respectful, a recurring minority creates unsafe situations. “Nine times out of 10, all the fans are great, but you always get at least one per signing that gets a little too comfortable, a little too handsy, or thinks they have this parasocial relationship with you. But I feel like it’s happening to everyone.”

The 33-year-old’s comments add to a growing list of wrestlers speaking out about fan boundary issues in 2025. Rhea Ripley described a “scary experience” being mobbed by fans in Paris, CM Punk has addressed multiple fan incidents, Liv Morgan dealt with a stalker who was arrested at her home, and AJ Lee called out a fan who created an AI-generated video depicting them kissing.

Saraya has been a free agent since departing AEW in March 2025 and has not wrestled since October 2024. She recently revealed plans to resume in-ring training in January 2026.

  • Not Just Him: Saraya Defends Triple H Over Booking Criticism

Saraya has only nice things to say about Triple H.

The former WWE star recently had an interview with PokerScout. She talked about things such as getting the chance to wrestle again after her neck injury, winning the AEW women\’s title at All In: London and more.

She was also asked about Triple H taking over the WWE creative after Vince McMahon, and how she thinks The Game is doing. Saraya mentioned that different people will have different opinions on his booking ability, but for her, the wrestling veteran is doing a great job:

\”I’m sure everyone has an opinion on the way he runs it, no one’s ever gonna be fully happy and there’s gonna be people that are really happy with the way it’s going.

I think he’s doing a great job, I feel there’s not much I can say because it’s not just him, there’s a room full of writers that are on the road and at home and there’s so many people that are writing this show.\”

    He\’s The Lightning Conductor: Saraya

Saraya discussed how she will always have a soft spot for Triple H because of how much he helped female competitors as head of NXT. The inaugural NXT Women\’s Champion mentioned that the King of Kings allowed them to have longer matches in development and do moves that they weren\’t allowed under Vince McMahon.

The WWE Executive has received some criticism for his handling of John Cena\’s retirement run, among other things recently. The former Paige explained, however, that creative is not a one-person job and that the former world champion is just trying to put together the best show possible:

\”So if something’s not great, a lot of people go on the attack with Hunter and people don’t realise it’s not just him. He’s just trying to put on the best show that he possibly can. He’s the face and the lightning conductor. Exactly, he’s the one who gets the brunt of it, and people just don’t realise there’s more people in just one person running the show.\”

Saraya is currently a free agent who has not wrestled a match since October 2024. Though she has recently expressed interest in getting back in the ring, proclaiming that she will resume training at the start of 2026.

  • Saraya Shares PSA With Fans After Being Stalked In Airport

WWE and AEW alum Saraya has shared a warning to fans who refuse to act appropriately after a concerning situation at an airport. During a recent edition of her Rulebreakers Podcast, Saraya shared that a fan recently bought a ticket at an airport, just so they could get past security and film her without her consent.

Saraya said that the fan made her “feel so uncomfortable” and added that the fan never approached her to ask for a photo. While Saraya “will take a picture with anybody at any time,” the fan’s actions, which were later shared on TikTok, made the former WWE Diva Champion feel unsafe.

The situation got worse when Saraya’s niece found the video of her aunt. Even at a young age, Saraya’s niece recognized that this was a concerning situation.

“She was like, ‘Auntie Raya, there’s this video of this guy that’s following you around?’… She was scared for me, and she’s so young.”

Saraya ended with a ‘PSA’ that filming her without consent, especially for 45 minutes as this fan did, is not appropriate. Saraya reiterated that she would have had no issue if the fan came up to her and asked for a photo, telling them, “I’m chill.”

Saraya has her share of horror stories about fans who cross the line, including changing her stance on meet & greets because of a bad interaction. With AJ Lee recently having her own issue with a fan, these situations show a dark side to wrestling fame.

  • Saraya Responds To Claims That She\’s \’Begging\’ For WWE Job

Saraya has responded to harsh comments from fans.

The wrestling veteran recently spoke to The Toronto Sun. She talked about things such as her new podcast, the WWE return of Nikki Bella and AJ Lee, and more.

During the interview, the former Divas Champion also rebutted fans who claim that she has been begging for a WWE return. Saraya explained that she only talks about it when the topic is brought up to her:

“I will say, anytime I’m in an interview, I get asked that. Everyone who comes to my table asks that.

But Twitter can be so harsh—if I talk about it, they’re like, ‘You’re begging for a job.’ I’m like, ‘No, people ask me.’ I’m just answering the question.\”

    Maybe One Day: Saraya

Saraya left AEW after a 3-year run with the promotion in March this year. She had a short 44-day reign with the AEW Women\’s World Championship in the company.

The star formerly known as Paige explained that she doesn\’t randomly talk about a WWE return and it’s the fans who have pushed for it:

\”I’m not randomly going, ‘Bring me back.’ I’m just getting a lot of love and a good reception. People really want me to come back, and I think that’s incredible. Maybe one day. I don’t know though.”

The former WWE star, who hasn\’t wrestled since October 2024, also said that she had fallen out of love with wrestling for a second. Saraya is now starting to get the itch again however, and she is planning to start training for an in-ring return from January next year.

  • AJ Lee and Saraya Tease That Their WWE Rivalry Is Never Over

Saraya made her WWE main-roster debut in shocking fashion in April 2014, when she captured the WWE Divas Championship from AJ Lee in her first match on Raw. What followed was a feud between the two for much of that year, and eleven years on, could a return match be in the works?

On Instagram, the USA Network account highlighted the eleven-year anniversary of Lee\’s match with Saraya (then Paige) at WWE Hell in a Cell 2014. The bout was the final time the pair competed one-on-one on WWE programming. In her response to the match being called the end of their rivalry, Lee shared on her Instagram Stories that her feud with Saraya is \”never over\” and declared that she and the Brit are \”frenemies for life.\”

    https://media.sescoops.com/uploads/2025/10/\"https://media.sescoops.com/uploads/2025/10/\"

This message from Lee caught the attention of Saraya. On X, Saraya agreed that their rivalry is \”never over\” and described AJ as her fairy godmother.

AJ returned to WWE in September 2025 and won her first match in over a decade that same month. As for Saraya, she has finished her time with AEW, and has made it clear that she is open to a WWE return.

Over a decade after their most recent match, the AJ Lee Vs. Paige feud is still heralded by WWE fans as one of the best women\’s storylines the company has ever produced. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on both women, as fans can\’t count out another match between the two former champions.

  • Natalya Wants Saraya Rematch Decade After Last WWE Showdown

Questions remain about Saraya\’s in-ring future following her exit from AEW earlier this year. Now, Natalya, a familiar foe of the first-ever NXT Women\’s Champion, is ready to step back in the ring with the Brit.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Natalya recalled her history with Saraya and openly invited her back for a rematch. Not only does Natalya want a rematch with the former Paige, but the Canadian believes the match would be one for the ages.

\”I would love to have a match with you again. It would be a generational match—and I’d get your ass to the Dungeon—because we have unfinished business.\”

Natalya and Saraya shared the ring dozens of times in WWE, both as allies and as opponents. Their most recent match as adversaries took place during the October 27, 2015, taping of WWE SmackDown, which saw Paige get the win.

While Natalya is ready to lace up her boots to take on Saraya, that doesn\’t mean the pair aren\’t friends. On the contrary, Natalya is ready to welcome her former colleague to one of her training sessions.

\”You’re always invited to the Dungeon anytime, but I would love to wrestle you againyou are one of the women who stood up for the division when others didn’t have the courage.\”

Saraya is open to a WWE return, but as of July 2025, no contact had been made by the promotion. Time will tell if Saraya ever steps in a WWE ring again, but if she does, Natalya will be waiting for her.

  • Saraya Shares Mental Health Update, Happiest She\’s Ever Been

WWE/AEW alum Saraya has opened up on her mental health, sharing that she is feeling the most positive about herself and her situation than she has in years. On X, the British wrestler shared her \”random late night thoughts\” and included a photo of herself and her dogs for good measure.

This year I’ve been the happiest I’ve ever been. Everything feels just so much more positive. Personal. Business. Even when things aren’t easy, my mind set is just so much better. I feel like it’s noticeable? I dunno but making big changes and putting myself first FINALLY looks good on me

Saraya’s message is especially meaningful given the challenges she has faced in the past. During her WWE career, she struggled with substance abuse and endured harassment after private photos were leaked without her consent. In 2017, she suffered a serious neck injury that sidelined her for nearly five years. In her new memoir, she also discusses surviving assault during her younger life.

While Saraya is thrilled with how things are going professionally and personally, fans eagerly await her next move. With her AEW run over, many have pointed to a WWE return. In July, Saraya shared that while she loves WWE, return talks hadn\’t happened yet. The British star wrestled as Paige for years, and has said that if a return does happen, she hopes to come back as her WWE persona.

Whatever\’s next for Saraya, she\’s ready to meet it head-on. With 2025 proving to be a great year already for her, the sky\’s the limit for the British wrestler.

  • Saraya Praises Naomi & Women\’s Wrestling Amid Title Shake-Up

Naomi won\’t be competing anytime soon due to her pregnancy, but Saraya is excited to see what\’s next for her once she\’s back. On X, Saraya was asked for her thoughts on the former Women\’s World Champion and gushed about her friend/former colleague.

Saraya then reflected on the wider world of women\’s wrestling, a world she is grateful to be a part of. The former WWE and AEW Champion is pleased to see \”beautiful things\” accomplished in women\’s wrestling, and is proud to be a part of the industry.

\”Every female wrestler you ask my opinion on I’m gonna say they’re all incredible. Because they are. Women’s wrestling is doing beautiful things and I couldn’t be happier and prouder to have been apart of it.\”

With Naomi out of action, a new WWE Women\’s World Champion will need to be crowned. Stephanie Vaquer will battle an opponent yet to be named for the vacant gold. Vaquer earned a title shot at WWE Evolution, while her opponent will be revealed on the September 1, edition of WWE Raw.

As for Saraya, it remains to be seen what the future holds for her, as many fans hope to see a WWE return for the former Paige. With the Brit saying she\’s open to a return, don\’t be surprised if Saraya soon finds herself in the WWE Women\’s World Title picture.

  • Latest On Saraya\’s WWE Status, Potential Return

Saraya didn’t return to WWE at Evolution 2 as many fans had predicted, and now more has come to light about her status with WWE. According to a sources close to ViperReports from Bodyslam.net, WWE not had any recent discussions regarding hiring Saraya as an in-ring competitor. The report states that no internal discussions were held regarding a potential comeback, and she was never considered for an appearance at Evolution 2 in Atlanta.

On social media before the show, Saraya had been quiet, leading some to speculate that she was on a flight. Instead, Saraya was on a flight to Hawaii, though appreciated how eager fans are to see her back.

Though a return hasn\’t been shy about the topic of returning to WWE. Before Evolution, Saraya said she was open to an appearance, and has said she hopes to return to WWE one day as Paige. Saraya\’s contract with WWE was not renewed in 2022, and despite Paul \’Triple H\’ Levesque\’s attempts to get her back after a change in administration that June, she would join AEW that same year.

In WWE, Paige was the first-ever NXT Women\’s Champion, as well as a two-time WWE Divas Champion who won over fans with her mold-breaking look and attitutde. Despite her history with the company and enduring popularity, WWE appears uninterested in revisiting that chapter for the time being.

  • Saraya Apologizes To Disappointed Fan

Former WWE and AEW star Saraya (formerly Paige) has responded to fans on social media following her absence from last night\’s WWE Evolution premium live event. The free agent issued an apology to a fan who was disappointed she did not appear at the show.

Saraya\’s own social media activity leading up to Evolution sparked speculation among fans that she might make a surprise return. This led to one fan claiming she was on a flight to Atlanta for the event. When she did not appear, the fan expressed their disappointment, prompting a direct and heartfelt reply from Saraya.

“I’m sorryyyyy! Although seeing all the love made me very emotional,” she wrote in response.

After the show concluded, Saraya took to Twitter/X again to share her appreciation for the event and the performers, tweeting, \”I love women’s wrestling ???#frenemies,”. Her post was met with many fans asking her to return to WWE. It also received a response from the new Women\’s World Champion, Naomi, who replied simply, \”I love you.\”

Saraya has been a free agent since her contract with AEW expired in March 2025. As was reported prior to the event, Saraya was never scheduled to be at Evolution as she was in Hawaii. Despite her physical absence, the strong reaction from fans and current WWE stars shows she remains a popular figure in the wrestling world.

  • Saraya Open to WWE Evolution Appearance: “A Bittersweet Thing”

Wrestling star Saraya, formerly known as Paige in WWE, is currently a free agent after leaving AEW with no contractual restrictions. She’s open to making appearances anywhere, including a potential WWE return. In an interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Saraya confirmed that her departure from AEW was amicable and expressed mixed feelings about returning to wrestling.

“I’m a free agent now, I could pop up anywhere. No, my contract’s done, done. That’s the one thing that helped, they gave me the opportunity to walk away from this contract. I mean, not a lot of companies or businesses would do that, you know? But Tony [Khan] was really, really great about it.”

She added, “If the opportunity is there, I’ll take it. I won’t chase it too hard, you know? Because, again, I want to be focused on stuff outside of wrestling.”

While she focuses on non-wrestling projects like her podcast \’Rulebreakers\’ and acting, Saraya remains open to returning to WWE if the opportunity arises, preferring to reprise her WWE character Paige, which she feels is an elevated part of herself.

With the second WWE Evolution PLE taking place this weekend, Saraya admits she’d love to be a part of that.

“It’s like a bittersweet thing, because the first [Evolution], I couldn’t be on it because of my neck. So if I had the opportunity to be on this all-female pay-per-view, of course, yeah, I would think about it.”

As for her future in the ring, Saraya envisions herself wrestling for years to come. Legends like Goldberg and Trish Stratus have paved the way and shown how careers can extend longer than ever.

“I want to go — I think I can squeeze 10 more years out of me. Yeah, 10 more years on and off. We’ll see.”

  • Saraya: I Lied To WWE After Failing Wellness Policy

Saraya was suspended from WWE twice in 2016 after violations of the Wellness Policy, marking a dark chapter in the Brit\’s life. Not only did Saraya fail these tests, but she tried to get one past WWE when caught.

During a game of \’Never Have I Ever\’ with Denise Salcedo, Saraya was asked whether she\’d lied to her boss. The former Women\’s Champion was upfront and admitted that she had, initially claiming that her second violation was due to a dental appointment.

\”I got publicly outed for popping another drug test and I was like \’it was a dental surgery\’ and it wasn’t… I did cocaine, I f\’ed up, I lied, but it’s okay.\”

Saraya has since overcome her demons and is pleased to be enjoying life away from her dark past. The British star recently wrapped her time with AEW though has yet to talk with WWE about a rumored return. Whatever comes next, Saraya is pleased that her years of failing drugs tests and feeling the need to lie about them are in the past.

  • Saraya Loves WWE, Says Return Talks Haven\’t Happened

Saraya was once part of WWE, where she was a former Divas Champion and the first-ever WWE NXT Women\’s Champion. After leaving AEW, fans have been left wondering if Saraya will become Paige in WWE once again.

Speaking to the Orlando Sentinel in a new interview, Saraya admitted that while she loves WWE, she hasn\’t had talks with the company about a return. Saraya recognized that fans are eager to see her back in the near future.

“I haven’t had a conversation with them. know, I always get tagged in everything, as soon as there’s a mystery going around, they’re like, ‘Hey, she’s coming back.’ But no. I love the WWE, but no.”

Saraya hasn\’t wrestled since her exit from AEW in early 2025. While a return to action is expected in due time, Saraya is enjoying her break from the wrestling world.

\”I just want to get my feet wet outside of wrestling for a little bit and take care of myself this year. It’s consumed me my whole life.\”

With WWE Evolution 2 around the corner, fans have been left wondering if Saraya/Paige could be back for the upcoming July 13 PLE. Whether that happens or not, Saraya is enjoying her time outside wrestling.

  • Saraya Hints at Wrestling Return as WWE Evolution Approaches

Former WWE and AEW star Saraya is giving fans renewed hope for her in-ring return, revealing she\’s focused on getting back in shape while dropping hints about her wrestling future.

The former Paige has expressed interest in returning to training this year, specifically wanting to work with WWE legend Natalya at her wrestling school. \”I would like to get back in the ring this year and really train and find myself again,\” Saraya told TV Insider. \”I feel like I didn\’t do that the past couple of years.\”

Saraya officially parted ways with AEW in March 2025 after a successful two-year run with the promotion. Since her departure, she\’s been vocal about exploring her options, including a potential return to WWE where she originally made her mark as Paige.

    Paige\’s WWE Return

When asked about returning to WWE, Saraya has made it clear she would prefer to revive her beloved \”Paige\” persona rather than continue as Saraya. \”I would take Paige again. Yeah. I love that character. I love Paige. I love the music. I love that she was a badass,\” she recently stated.

The timing couldn\’t be more intriguing. WWE recently announced the return of Evolution, their groundbreaking all-women\’s premium live event, scheduled for July 13, 2025, at Atlanta\’s State Farm Arena. This marks the first Evolution event since the inaugural show in 2018, creating a potential perfect stage for major returns.

Saraya has also mentioned her interest in participating in match types she never experienced during her WWE career, specifically the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber. Her neck injury in 2017 forced her retirement before she could compete in these signature matches that were introduced to the women\’s division in 2018.

While Saraya has clarified that she hasn\’t been in direct contact with WWE recently, she\’s praised the company\’s current openness to allowing talent creative freedom outside wrestling. \”I feel like WWE now is being more open and receptive to people doing outside stuff,\” she noted, citing this as an important factor in any potential return.

For now, Saraya remains focused on her various projects outside wrestling, including her new memoir \”Hell in Boots\” and podcast \”Rulebreakers.\” However, her recent comments about training and getting back in ring shape suggest wrestling fans may not have seen the last of the former two-time Divas Champion.

With Evolution providing the perfect platform for a legendary homecoming and Saraya actively working on her conditioning, summer 2025 could mark a pivotal moment in one of wrestling\’s most compelling comeback stories.

  • Saraya Changes Fan Policy After Disturbing Signing Incident

Saraya is changing how she interacts with fans after a disturbing encounter at a recent signing event. At the event, a fan tried to kiss Saraya on the mouth, crossing a line for the former WWE and AEW wrestler. Taking to X, Saraya shared a post about the matter.

Saraya also shared a video in which she discussed the matter further. The British star was pleased for all the well-wishes she\’s received after the incident which has forced her to change her attitude to meet-and-greets.

“I am a hugger. I’ve always been a hugger when it comes to my fans. But going forward, I would love if we just stick to handshakes just to be safer and just to have a little bit of a boundary.\”

Saraya added that this kiss wasn\’t just inappropriate, it\’s assault, an something nobody shoul have to tolerate.

\”Please don’t do that to us, you guys. Please, to any wrestling, not just females, any wrestling, do not try and kiss us. It’s not appropriate. It’s actually assault.\”

Saraya’s experience underscores the importance of respecting personal space, especially in public fan interactions. With her new handshake-only policy, she’s prioritizing safety while maintaining her connection with fans.

  • \”That Would Be Amazing\”: Saraya Hopes To Tag With AJ Lee Again

Saraya, known to WWE fans as Paige, is already envisioning exciting future matches, including a potential tag team reunion with former three-time Divas Champion AJ Lee. Following her departure from AEW in March, Saraya discussed her dream matchups on a recent episode of Women’s Wrestling Talk.

While she might be taking some time away from the ring, Saraya has a clear list of talent she\’d love to work with. She first named current AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Moné: “First of all, it would be Mercedes, of course. I feel like that’s a built-in story.\” She also expressed interest in facing or teaming with WWE\’s Rhea Ripley, saying, \”Then I would love to face Rhea or be in a tag with Rhea… The first goth going against the modern goth, it’d be really great.”

However, a reunion with Lee, with whom she teamed in WWE during 2014, is something she\’s interested in. “I would love to tag with AJ again down the road. I feel like that would be amazing,\” Saraya stated. She added, \”I just want to wrestle everybody,\” also mentioning names like Natalya, Nikki Bella, Liv Morgan, Bianca Belair, and Trinity.

Saraya has confirmed the door remains open for a potential AEW return.

  • Saraya Discusses AEW Departure, Says Door Remains Open For Return

Former AEW star Saraya recently revealed that her departure from AEW was amicable and that the door remains open for her potential return in the future.

The former AEW Women’s Champion recently departed AEW. Since then talks of a potential return to WWE has been on the cards. While she hasn\’t joined any pro wrestling promotion yet, she doesn\’t rule out a return to AEW in the future as well.

During an appearance on Women\’s Wrestling Talk, Saraya discussed her departure from AEW and stated that Tony Khan was supportive of her decision. She then revealed that Khan has left the door open for a possible comeback. Saraya revealed:

\”I was like, alright, time for me to bow out. Tony was amazing with it. It ended up being mutual, which is great. He was like, let\’s do it. Like- that\’s perfectly fine. He was extremely supportive about my my future endeavors and he encouraged me and the door was left open, you know, which is great, and yeah, it was just a lot of brainstorming on my time off where I was like, okay, now it\’s time for me to bow out gracefully, I guess.\”

Saraya is currently a free agent in the market and on multiple occasions, she has teased her possible comeback to WWE. She had previously stated that she wanted to tick-off a couple of things off her bucket list.

  • Saraya Reveals AEW Storyline Pitch She Refused, Why She Said No

Earlier this year, Saraya confirmed that she had exited AEW and now the former Women’s World Champion is opening up about what did and didn’t happen during her tenure. Speaking on her Rulebreakers podcast, Saraya shared that AEW once wanted her to be part of a love story with Daddy Magic but turned the idea down.

\”I’ve managed to go my whole career without doing a love storyline. I wasn’t going to start now.\”

At the time, Saraya had a boyfriend and didn’t feel right kissing someone else, even if it was just for show, and shared that it’s the only storyline she’s ever refused. Saraya added that no one had ever asked her to do something like that before AEW and while she likes Daddy Magic and believes he’s a good guy, she just didn’t feel right about the idea.

\”There’s not really any other storyline I’ve turned down. It’s just that if I have to kiss someone and I have a boyfriend, I don’t think it’s appropriate.\”

Saraya’s AEW exit led many fans to speculate on a potential return to WWE, with the former Paige herself teasing that a return could come. As for how Saraya’s second potential run with WWE will go, only time will tell, but there are clearly some lines that the Brit won’t cross, even if the kiss was just a part of the show.

  • Saraya Prefers to Revive \’Paige\’ for Potential WWE Return

Former WWE and AEW star Saraya (Saraya-Jade Bevis) recently spoke about the lasting impact of her “Paige” character and the potential for bringing that persona back if she returns to the ring.

“I would take Paige again. Yeah. I love that character. I love Paige. I love the music. I love that she was a badass,” Saraya said in an interview with Andro Mammo.

Best known for her time in WWE, Paige became a standout figure with her anti-diva image, unique presentation, and aggressive style. She held the NXT Women’s Championship and captured the WWE Divas Championship twice, becoming a fan favorite during her run.

Comparing that version of herself to her time in AEW, Saraya noted the contrast in character styles.

“Saraya was a different character in AEW. It’s more like a chicken sh*t heel, which was fun, but I preferred Paige, for sure,” she admitted.

Looking to the future, Saraya hinted that a return could feature a mix of both personas.

“And if I was to be Saraya, it would be a Paige version of Saraya,” she added.

The influence of Saraya’s Paige character extended beyond the ring, inspiring the 2019 biographical film Fighting with My Family, produced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The movie chronicled her journey to WWE and introduced her story to a global audience.

Saraya has spoken openly about her respect for both WWE and AEW, crediting WWE for helping shape her career while acknowledging the support and creative freedom she experienced in AEW. She also praised WWE’s current women’s division for its depth and talent, naming Rhea Ripley as a dream opponent should she step back into the ring.

In addition to her wrestling legacy, Saraya is focusing on new creative ventures. She recently released her memoir, Hell in Boots: Clawing My Way Through Nine Lives, and has expressed interest in acting. She’s also set to host a new show titled Rule Breakers.

  • Sol Ruca Joins WWE/AEW Alum With NXT Stand & Deliver Win

Sol Ruca captured the NXT Women\’s North American Championship, besting five of the silver brand\’s very best to claim the gold. In a ladder match, Ruca defeated Lola Vice, Izzi Dame, Kelani Jordan, Thea Hail, and her own tag team partner Zaria to become the fourth woman to hold the Women\’s North American Championship.

But this is not the only title Ruca currently holds. April 2025 also saw her capture the WWE Speed Women\’s Championship, becoming the second-ever champion by defeating Candice LeRae. With these wins, Ruca is the second Superstar to hold an NXT and non-NXT Championship at the same time. The only other Superstar? Paige, who held the NXT Women\’s Championship and WWE Divas Championships briefly in 2014.

H/T to @WWEStats for uncovering this stat. Stay tuned to SEScoops for more interesting wrestling facts and statistics.

Ruca\’s wins shows WWE\’s immense faith in the young Superstar and bodes very well for her future in NXT and eventual future on the main roster. And while fans may never see Ruca with both belts on TV, as WWE keeps its Speed titles to their X-exclusive show, the double-champ is certainly proving formiddable in the ring.
