Roxanne Perez recently provided an update after a horrific head collision with Liv Morgan on the April 6 edition of Raw. She posted to Instagram on Monday while still under concussion protocol.
During a backstage segment on Raw, Perez and Morgan collided heads hard when Stephanie Vaquer blindsided Morgan. WWE immediately placed both women under concussion protocol, raising concerns with WrestleMania 42 approaching.
Perez shared a photo on her Instagram story showing herself smiling while holding an ice pack to her head. Her caption read, “alive & well yall.”
The update is a positive sign, though Perez has not been medically cleared yet. WWE continues to monitor both her and Morgan as WrestleMania 42 draws near.
Roxanne Perez has revealed the reason for her recent absence from WWE Monday Night Raw, confirming that she underwent surgery to remove a benign mass in her back.
Roxanne Perez says she recently had surgery for a benign mass that was in her back
Perez shared the update in a TikTok video on Tuesday, ending weeks of speculation about why the Judgment Day member had been missing from WWE programming. She had not appeared on Raw since the February 2 episode, where she was put through a table by Women\’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer during a Philadelphia Street Fight.
According to Perez, the mass had been causing her pain for a couple of months, but she was reluctant to take time off.
\”I\’ve been out for about a week now. I recently underwent surgery to remove a benign mass that was in my back that was causing me a lot of pain for a couple of months, but I just didn\’t want to have time off.
The 24-year-old said her recovery is going well and that the pain in her back has mostly subsided.
\”I don\’t have too much pain anymore, it kinda comes and goes. I\’m gonna be back in the ring in no time,\” she added.
Roxanne Perez’s 2026
Prior to the surgery, Perez had earned backstage praise for continuing to compete on WWE\’s Road to Royal Rumble European tour despite being banged up. She competed in the 2026 Women\’s Royal Rumble match on January 31 in Riyadh, entering at number 11 and lasting over 22 minutes before being eliminated by Rhea Ripley.
Earlier this month, Perez shared an Instagram Story showing a care package from her Judgment Day stablemates, which included \”Get Well Soon\” balloons and a handwritten card reading, \”We love you little Roxy! Get well soon. Your family, The Judgment Day.\”
No specific timetable has been given for her return, but with WrestleMania 42 on the horizon, all eyes will be on how quickly \”The Prodigy\” can get back to action on Raw.
Roxanne Perez sustained a puncture wound to her face during her match on the January 30th edition of SmackDown in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Perez teamed with Liv Morgan to face Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. Following the match, Perez alleged that Flair’s ring gear caused the injury.
The referee should’ve disqualified Charlotte for using her gear as a weapon!!!! I was stabbed!!! Justice for the judgement day NOW @WWE#SmackDownpic.twitter.com/wuPiht97YT
The incident occurred during tag-team action. The match continued, and Perez finished the contest. The severity of the injury is currently unknown, but Perez has commented on the incident. Perez is still scheduled to compete in the women’s Royal Rumble match.

Royal Rumble Status
It remains to be seen if the injury will impact Perez’s participation in the Royal Rumble. As of now, she is still slated to compete.
SEScoops will provide updates on her condition as they become available.
Roxanne Perez couldn’t be happier about having her wrestling hero AJ Lee back in the WWE locker room.
Speaking with Going Ringside, the Judgment Day member opened up about what Lee’s return has meant to her personally, crediting the former Divas Champion as the person who made her believe a WWE career was achievable.
“She was definitely the person that made me realize that it was possible for me to become a WWE superstar. One of my biggest inspirations, for sure,” Perez said of Lee
With both Lee and CM Punk now working together backstage in WWE, Perez has had a front-row seat to watch two of her childhood favorites interact. The young star didn’t hold back when describing the noticeable change in Punk’s demeanor when his wife is around.
“That’s been awesome having them around in the locker room. You can definitely see the change in Punk’s energy and just overall happiness when she’s around. It’s so cute,” Perez shared. “And it’s awesome to see. You know, I grew up watching them. The storylines that they created were some of my favorite to watch growing up.”
Now, instead of watching from afar, Perez gets to lean on both Punk and Lee for guidance as she navigates her own WWE career.
“To now have them there and for them to just be people that I can turn to whenever I need advice or need help or anything. Yeah, they’re just amazing,” she said.
When the interviewer noted the old adage about never meeting your heroes, Perez was quick to push back, giving both Lee and Punk full credit for defying that cynical expectation.
“It definitely went well. I tell them that a lot where I’m like, thank you for making that quote, ‘never meet your hero,’ so untrue because they are just awesome. They’re just awesome to be around.”
Roxanne Perez is shutting down rumors about any romantic involvement with Dominik Mysterio.
In an interview with Scott Johnson for Going Ringside, the Judgment Day member was asked directly about the speculation surrounding her relationship with “Dirty Dom.” Perez’s response was clear and direct.
“What do you mean by that?” Perez initially responded when asked what’s going on with Mysterio. “He’s the king of the luchadors. He’s double champ. I think that’s pretty much all that’s going on for Dominik Mysterio.”
Perez made it crystal clear where Mysterio’s loyalties lie, emphasizing his relationship with Liv Morgan while listing off his close friends in the faction.
“He’s got his güerita. He’s got his best friends in the Judgment Day. Me, Raquel, JD, Finn,” she said.
When pressed further about whether Mysterio is in the “friend zone,” Perez maintained her position without hesitation.
“Me and him have always been buddies. I don’t know what people are trying to misconstrue in there, but we’re just friends,” Perez stated firmly.
The former NXT Women’s Champion also went out of her way to respect Liv Morgan’s place in Mysterio’s life, making her stance abundantly clear.
“I would never get in the way of him and his güerita. I would never,” Perez declared.
The comments come as Judgment Day continues to be one of WWE’s most prominent factions, with Liv Morgan recently returning from injury at Survivor Series and getting back in the ring this past weekend. Perez joined the group earlier this year, filling a key role while Morgan was sidelined.
Despite fan speculation about potential romantic storylines, Perez appears committed to keeping her relationship with Mysterio strictly professional and friendly within the faction.
Roxanne Perez is still processing the surreal experience of hitting John Cena with her Pop Rox finisher at Survivor Series.
In an interview with Scott Johnson for Going Ringside, the Judgment Day member reflected on how meaningful it was to be involved with Cena during his retirement tour, especially given her deep connection to the WWE legend\’s career.
\”Him versus The Rock, Once in a Lifetime, that storyline was actually what made me fall in love with pro wrestling,\” Perez explained. \”So the fact that I got to be a part of something with him on his retirement tour is just absolute insanity.\”
The Prodigy admitted that while she always believed she\’d make it to WWE, the specific moments she\’s experiencing have exceeded her wildest expectations.
\”When people ask me if I thought that all of this would be happening, if I\’d be in the WWE, I say yes and no because I did always think that I would make it here. Something always told me that I would make it possible. But I never expected all of these crazy things to come with it, like being in the ring with John Cena and giving him my finisher. Never expected that. So yeah, wrestling is crazy.\”
John Cena Seeks Roxanne\’s Feedback
Perhaps most impressive was what happened backstage after the Survivor Series match. Perez revealed that Cena gathered everyone involved in the bout and immediately asked for constructive criticism.
\”He\’s awesome. It\’s just really inspiring that even at his level, he always wants to be better,\” Perez said. \”After our match at Survivor Series, he brought us all together, everybody that was a part of that match, and the first thing he asked was, \’What do you guys think we could have done better?\’\”
When asked if it was awkward having Cena solicit her opinion, Perez acknowledged the unusual dynamic but took away an important lesson.
\”Maybe a little bit, but I think it was mostly just inspiring because I feel like it really just shows that you can learn from anybody. No one is better than anybody really, truly. That was definitely something that I would take with me throughout my entire career. You just never stop learning. You never stop getting better. Even the best to ever do it, John Cena, he never stops getting better.\”
