  • Mickie James Returns to TNA at No Surrender 2026

TNA Hall of Famer Mickie James made a surprise return to TNA Wrestling at No Surrender on February 13, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee, intervening after The Elegance Brand retained their TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championships over Indi Hartwell and Xia Brookside in controversial fashion.

The Elegance Brand (Heather By Elegance and M By Elegance) picked up the win after a tainted finish. During the pinfall, Hartwell managed to get her foot on the bottom rope, but Ash By Elegance pushed it off before the referee could see it, allowing the three-count to stand.

After the match, The Elegance Brand prepared to attack the defeated challengers when James\’s music hit. The TNA Hall of Famer immediately took the fight to Ash By Elegance and informed the referee about the interference. When The Elegance Brand tried to gang up on James, Hartwell and Brookside came to her aid, and the trio ran off the heels.

James Returns to TNA for the First Time Since Hall of Fame Induction

This marked James\’s first TNA appearance since her Hall of Fame induction at Bound For Glory in October 2025. She has not wrestled since July 2025 and last competed for TNA in 2023. With the event taking place at The Pinnacle in Nashville, James made a short trip from her Tennessee home for the surprise appearance.

The confrontation sets up potential future matchups involving James and The Elegance Brand in the Knockouts division. With James aligning herself alongside Hartwell and Brookside, speculation is already building toward a possible six-woman or triple threat tag match in the weeks ahead.

  • Mickie James Reveals How She Sneaked Her Real Name Past Vince McMahon On WWE Debut

Mickie James has revealed how she was able to keep her real name in WWE.

The wrestling veteran recently spoke to Chris Van Vliet for a new interview. She talked about things such as her first WWE run getting cut short, the infamous Piggy James storyline with LayCool and more.

During the interview, Mickie James also told the story of how she was able to keep her real name upon her main roster debut back in October 2005. The former Divas Champion mentioned that her development name was Alexis Laree but Vince McMahon did not like the moniker:

“I was Alexis Laree in OVW. I just love the name Alexis and Laree is my legit middle name, so that’s how that name came about.

But I’m about to debut this crazy stalker character, and Vince is like, ‘What’s her name? Alexis Laree? I don’t like that name. It sounds like a stripper name.’ And I’m like, Oh, guess it does, doesn’t it? Yeah, okay.\”

How Grateful I Am For That: Mickie James

When Mr. McMahon asked her for an alternative to the OVW name, Mickie James ended up pitching her own name. This led to the wrestling legend becoming one of the few people on the roster who was using her real identity on TV:

\”He’s like, ‘Well, got anything else? Got any other names?’ And I was like, ‘Uh, Mickie James?’ [He said] ‘I love it.’ I didn’t say, Oh, it’s my real name. I was like, oh, okay, great.

So I was able, and probably one of the last few people, to actually be able to use their real name. I was able to use my real name. Wow, crazy. And how grateful I am for that.”

Mickie James also dived deep into her debut storyline with Trish Stratus. Originally debuting as a super fan of Stratus, James slowly turned into a stalker, leading to a big match at WrestleMania 22. You can check out what she said about a controversial gesture that happened during this bout here.

  • Mickie James Reveals Vince McMahon Reaction To Infamous WrestleMania 22 Spot

Mickie James believes in asking for forgiveness rather than permission.

The wrestling legend recently had an interview with Chris Van Vliet. She talked about things such as getting to use her real name in WWE, being inducted in TNA Hall of Fame, and more.

During the interview, Mickie discussed her famous feud with Trish Stratus and their WrestleMania 22 match. The former Women\’s Champion dived deep into the story behind her infamous gesture during the bout that has since been deleted from WWE history. James revealed that she had gotten permission for only part of it through their agent:

\”Steve Keirn was our agent. I had asked Steve Keirn, ‘Can I lick my finger?’ Clearly, that’s not what I did. He was like, ‘Lick your finger?’ I was like, Well, yeah, I mean, I’m grabbing, wouldn’t I?

I’ve been trying to get my hands on her, you know, forever. This would be my dream come true, right? And he’s like, ‘I will see.’ I went away, and he comes back, and he goes, ‘Yeah, okay, I think you can lick your fingers.’ Fine, whatever. Sorry, Steve Keirn.\”

I Had Never Received A High Five: Mickie James

Mickie James was placed in a storyline with Trish Stratus upon her main roster debut in October 2005. Originally posing as Trish\’s biggest fan, James soon turned into an obsessed stalker. During their WrestleMania 22 Women\’s title match, Mickie grabbed Stratus\’ crotch during a spot and then proceeded to lick her finger.

The TNA Hall of Famer thought that the gesture would earn her a high five from Vince McMahon, who had never praised her performance like that before. The former WWE Chairman, however, was not as enthusiastic, and James actually was scolded by Mr. McMahon:

\”I thought in my heart and in my soul, I honestly believed I was going to walk back through that curtain, and I had never received a high five. I’d seen other women get high fives from Vince and thumbs up and all these things. I got thumbs up before. I got a few thumbs up.

I thought I was going to get the biggest hug of a lifetime, and fist bumps, maybe even a hoist on a shoulder and out the door, something for being so brilliant. It’s not what happened at all.

Go back through the curtain and Vince is pissed. He’s like, ‘That was crass! Do you know what we’re gonna have to do? How much money it’s gonna cost to edit that and to pull it from everything? We’re a publicly traded company! What are you thinking?’\”

James discussed how the scolding brought her down from the high of a lifetime. Though the former Divas champion noted that McMahon clearly did not hate her too much since she remained champion afterward. Mickie believes that deep down, he really loved the angle.

The storyline between Mickie James and Trish Stratus would continue for months after WrestleMania 22. It concluded at a Raw episode in June when James picked up a victory over her arch-rival in a Women\’s title match.

  • Mickie James On WWE Return: I\’ve Achieved All Of My Goals

Mickie James was part of WWE\’s roster for years, where she held numerous titles during her tenure as a Superstar. Now, Mickie isn\’t counting out a return to WWE action, but believes she has already done all she set out to do in pro wrestling.

Appearing on Busted Open Radio, James was asked about one more run with WWE. The newly-inducted TNA Wrestling Hall of Famer recalled a conversation with a friend, in which she was confident she could hang with today\’s crop of female Superstars.

\”I was having a conversation with someone, and they were like, ‘Oh, could you do one more run?’ And I was like, ‘Hell yeah, I could do one more run. I got it in me, you know?’\”

While James has it in her to have another run with WWE, she feels that she would have nothing left to prove. James reflected on her career which has seen her do everything she set out to do.

\”I’ve been really blessed. I think I set out and achieved all my goals.’ I don’t really have anything else to prove. I think I’ve proved everything that I could prove.\”

James has certainly had a career most women could only dream of, from WrestleMania victories to title wins, to Hall of Fame inductions. Though fans know to \’never say never\’ to a return, James isn\’t itching for a return to prove anything about her career.

  • Mickie James Reveals Who Will Induct Her Into TNA Hall Of Fame

It has been announced that former WWE and TNA Women\’s Champion Lisa Marie Varon, known to fans as Victoria and Tara, will be the one to induct her long-time friend and rival, Mickie James, into the TNA Wrestling Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Bound For Glory pay-per-view this Sunday, October 12, in Lowell, Massachusetts. The choice is a fitting one, as the careers of the two women have been intertwined for decades, featuring memorable matches and feuds in both WWE and TNA.

The news was revealed by Mickie James herself during a recent interview with WrestlingNews.co\’s SoCal Val. She explained why she chose Varon for the prestigious honor.

“Someone who was pretty synonymous with the whole introduction of Hardcore Country. And I think that we made some incredible, historic moments together — and that would be our dear friend, Lisa Marie.”

James also noted that she personally requested Varon for the induction speech. She was initially unsure if Varon\’s WWE legends contract would create an issue, but the request was quickly approved by TNA, which has a close working relationship with WWE. This year\’s TNA Hall of Fame class is a celebration of the Knockouts division, as The Beautiful People (Angelina Love & Velvet Sky) will also be inducted alongside Mickie James.

  • Mickie James To Be Inducted Into This Year\’s TNA Wrestling Hall Of Fame

Wrestling legend and 11-time women\’s world champion Mickie James will be the next inductee into the TNA Wrestling Hall of Fame. The surprise announcement was made on Monday, September 22, during a live episode of \”Notsam Wrestling Live!\” on SiriusXM. While James was being interviewed on the show by Sam Roberts and TNA legend Tommy Dreamer, TNA Wrestling President Carlos Silva made a special appearance to officially inform her of the induction.

The official induction ceremony is scheduled to take place at TNA\’s biggest pay-per-view event of the year, Bound For Glory, on Sunday, October 12, at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts. Mickie James is the first announced member of the Hall of Fame\’s Class of 2025 and will be the fourth woman to receive the honor, joining an elite group that includes Gail Kim, Awesome Kong, and Traci Brooks.

Throughout her career, which began in 1999, James has been a trailblazer in women\’s wrestling, capturing multiple world championships in both WWE and TNA. Her 2021 match against Deonna Purrazzo at Bound For Glory was voted the TNA Knockouts Match of the Year.

Outside of the ring, she has had a successful career as a country music singer and is an inductee into the Native American Music Awards Hall of Fame. Her induction will be a highlight of a star-studded Bound For Glory event, which is also set to feature the final match between The Hardys and Team 3D.

  • WWE LFG Renewed For Three More Years, Claims Legend

Fans haven\’t seen the last of WWE LFG now that the first season has completed as the show has reportedly been green-lit for many years to come. Speaking to Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture at Comic Con Revolution Ontario, WWE LFG trainer Mickie James dropped the bombshell.

\”It was so fun. It was so much funit’s gotten picked up not just for another season, but for three years — like six seasons hopefully — that’s a big damn deal. I loved it.\”

While the show will continue on, it will go ahead without James. For the second season, Michelle McCool will join the panel of legends alongside Booker T, Bubba Ray Dudley, and her husband The Undertaker. McCool\’s inclusion has sparked a backlash with fans arguing that she only has the role due to her marriage to the Phenom. While The Undertaker reportedly pushed for McCool to be brought to the show, it is not believed he pushed James out.

In the interview, James spoke about her role on the show and how her relationship with The Undertaker has changed through WWE LFG.

\”I’d only seen him as the judge and jury of the locker room. To feel like an equal with these Hall of Famers, as the first female coach and the only one not in the Hall of Fame — it was a big deal.\”

WWE LFG wrapped up in May 2025 with Tyra Mae Steele and Jasper Troy earning WWE NXT contracts. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on the hit series.

  • Velvet Sky Fires Back at Mickie James Over \’Lingerie\’ Comments About WWE Trainee\’s Ring Attire

On the latest episode of WWE LFG, Mickie James took issue with the outfit of Zena Sterling. Speaking to the mentee of Bubba Ray Dudley after her match with Tamara Mae Steele, James questioned Zena\’s choice of in-ring attire.

\”I lived during the diva era, and we fought very, very hard to not have to wrestle in lingerie anymore. Since I\’m a female, I can speak on this. It\’s very frustrating when women go out there and wrestle, and all I see is their a**. And I can\’t look past it. It\’s all I see. It\’s very distracting. So you want to be taken serious as a wrestler, but you\’re wrestling in pretty much jazzed up lingerie. And that\’s my opinion. And that\’s coming from someone who\’s had to wrestle on TV a lot.\”

James\’ comments have sparked a discussion among fans about ring attire and the progress female talent have made, especially in WWE, over the past decade. Some argued that James is right to criticize what they perceive as an over-sexualized attire. Others believe that it\’s ultimately Sterling\’s choice to where what she feels is best and that James has also worn similar attires.

On X, Velvet Sky, a fellow TNA alum who\’s worked with James countless times, chimed in. Sky joked that she felt personally attacked before throwing her support behind Sterling\’s ring attire.

WWE LFG sees legends of the ring serve as mentors to promising, young talent, each one hoping to earn a contract with the promotion. While James\’ time with WWE LFG will soon be over, the former Women\’s Champion isn\’t shying away from making her views perfectly clear.

  • Mickie James Set for In-Ring Return at WrestleCon Supershow Amid WWE LFG Departure

Mickie James vs. Maki Itoh Confirmed for WrestleCon

Mickie James is officially returning to the ring at the Mark Hitchcock Memorial WrestleCon Supershow on April 17, 2025. She is set to face Maki Itoh in what will be her first match since September 2024.

WrestleCon announced the highly anticipated matchup, stating, \”It\’s finally happening… Maki Itoh vs. Mickie James at the Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow.\” Tickets for the event are currently on sale.

The show’s lineup also features a special guest enforcer match with Dan Severn overseeing a clash between Minoru Suzuki and Butterbean.

James’ WWE LFG Exit and Coaching Change

As James prepares for her return to the ring, she is also stepping away from her role as a coach on WWE LFG (Legends & Future Greats). The A&E series, which debuted in February 2025, will return for a second season with Michelle McCool replacing James on the coaching staff.

The Undertaker, one of the show\’s existing coaches and McCool’s husband, reportedly played a key role in securing McCool’s spot. While there is no direct confirmation that he influenced James’ removal, sources indicate his continued involvement in the show was linked to McCool’s inclusion.

James has not publicly commented on the coaching change but posted a cryptic message on X, stating, “Nuff said… #NewProfilePic” shortly before the news broke.

Future Plans and Potential WWE Return

Despite her departure from WWE LFG, James and her fellow Season 1 coaches—The Undertaker, Bubba Ray Dudley, and Booker T—recently appeared together at WWE NXT Roadblock on March 11. During the event, James was seen backstage, offering encouragement to rising star Jaida Parker.

Beyond WWE, James remains actively involved in wrestling as the Creative Director, Head of Female Talent, and Executive Producer for Ohio Valley Wrestling. She has also hinted at a return to in-ring competition, responding to NXT’s Roxanne Perez—who named James as a dream opponent—by saying, “You gonna make me dust off my working boots?”

This has fueled speculation about a potential WWE comeback, with many fans hoping to see James revisit her iconic rivalry with Trish Stratus. With 2025 marking the 25th anniversary of Stratus’ WWE debut, some believe a match between the two could be on the horizon.

James, a six-time WWE Women’s Champion and five-time TNA Knockouts Champion, has not wrestled since September 2024. She was previously slated for a tag team match alongside Gail Kim in TNA, but the bout never came to fruition.

As James prepares for her WrestleCon showdown with Itoh, fans eagerly await what the future holds for the veteran star—both in and out of WWE.

  • Mickie James Appears At WWE NXT Roadblock

On Tuesday night, Mickie James made an appearance at WWE NXT Roadblock, held at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. She attended the event alongside fellow WWE LFG coaches The Undertaker and Bubba Ray Dudley. Booker T, another LFG coach, was also present as part of the NXT commentary team.

During a backstage segment, the former Women\’s Champion offered encouragement to Jaida Parker. She urged her to \”make it happen\” in her pursuit of the NXT Women\’s Championship.

It\’s worth noting that Gail Kim previously revealed plans for a TNA tag team match featuring herself and James in 2024. However, the match ultimately did not materialize.

James has not competed since September 2024. Throughout her career, which includes two stints with WWE, she has held the WWE Women\’s Championship five times and the WWE Divas Championship once. She also boasts five TNA Knockouts World Championship reigns.

While James has served as a coach on WWE LFG, she will be replaced by Michelle McCool in the second season.

  • What\’s Next For Mickie James After WWE LFG Exit?

A&E’s WWE LFG (Legends & Future Greats) is set to return for a second season, but with a significant coaching change. Michelle McCool will replace Mickie James on the show, which first premiered in February 2025.

The Undertaker, one of the show\’s coaches and McCool\’s husband, played a key role in securing McCool’s spot on the coaching staff. While there is no indication that he directly requested James’ removal, sources suggest his continued involvement in the show was linked to McCool’s inclusion.

    Micke James\’ Response

James, an established name in WWE and TNA Wrestling, has not directly addressed the situation. However, she posted a cryptic message on X, stating, “Nuff said… #NewProfilePic” shortly before news of the coaching change surfaced, fueling speculation that she was aware of the decision in advance.

    What\’s Next?

Despite her departure from WWE LFG, James and her fellow Season 1 coaches are still scheduled to appear together at NXT Roadblock on March 11. Outside of WWE, James serves as Creative Director, Head of Female Talent, and Executive Producer for Ohio Valley Wrestling.

In recent months, James has teased a potential in-ring return. After Roxanne Perez named James as a dream opponent, the veteran responded to the NXT star saying “You gonna make me dust off my working boots?”

Should James wrestle again, fans are eager to see the former Women\’s Champion revisit her 2006 feud with Trish Stratus. With this year marking 25 years since Stratus\’ WWE debut, its possible that the Canadian will face James as part of her return to WWE. James has previously said she would choose Stratus to induct her into the WWE Hall of Fame, further fueling speculation about a reunion or potential feud.

Mickie James & Michelle McCool\’s History

James and McCool feuded in 2009 and 2010 as part of the controversial \’Piggy James\’ angle. The storyline saw McCool and Layla mock James as \’fat,\’ at a time when James was reportedly facing criticism from higher-ups for what they perceived as weight issues. On the Insight podcast earlier this year, McCool expressed regret over the angle, stating that she apologized to James weekly.

McCool\’s recent WWE Hall of Fame induction announcement as well as her role on WWE LFG, have reignited discussions about their past interactions. While there\’s no reports of issues between the two over the change, fans remain eager to see what James does next in the wrestling world.

  • The Undertaker Influenced Cast Change For WWE LFG Season 2

The Undertaker\’s influence led to a big change in the second season of the WWE Legends & Future Greats series which fans have mixed reactions about.

The reception to renewal of the A&E show earlier this week was not all positive. Many fans were not happy with the news of the show\’s only female coach Mickie James being replaced by Michelle McCool, while all three male coaches in The Undertaker, Bully Ray, and Booker T are being retained.

Fightful Select recently provided an update on this change and revealed how The Dead Man caused this change unintentionally.

According to the report, the showmakers wanted Undertaker to continue in his role in the new season, but his condition to do so was the involvement of his wife. So the decision was made to replace James with McCool.

It\’s worth noting that the WWE Hall of Famer did not request Mickie to be taken off the show. He just wanted the involvement of Michelle, with the producers deciding to replace the wrestling veteran on their own.

The LFG series sees 16 aspiring WWE stars competing for an NXT contract. Each of the legends has 4 rookies in their teams, with the contestants selecting which coach they want to be associated with.

The shooting for season 2 is already underway so it doesn\’t seem likely that the negative reaction could lead to James being brought back as a full-time coach atleast for this season.

  • Mickie James Shares How WWE LFG Differs From Tough Enough

WWE LFG is the promotion\’s newest show seeking to hone new talent, but Mickie James has rejected comparisons to Tough Enough. Speaking to Going Ringside, James, one of the show\’s legendary trainers, shared how WWE LFG differs from the promotion\’s most iconic show about young talent trying to earn a contract.

\”It’s so different and dynamic [from Tough Enough.] You’ve never seen Undertaker as a coach before. In fact, this show is the first time—he says it openly—that it’s the first time he’s actually coached young, hungry wrestlers.\”

Tough Enough launched in 2001 with its most reason season taking place in 2015. Notable alum from the show include The Miz, John Morrison, Maven, Nidia, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, and Chelsea Green.

The introduction of WWE LFG (which premiered on Sunday, February 16, at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on A&E) marks the promotion\’s latest effort to hone new talent. The new show comes as WWE prepares for the launch of its Evolve show, set to premiere next month. Not only that, but WWE NXT and the Next-In-Line program continues to generate new talent for WWE, keeping the company\’s pool of potential stars filled to its brim.

James has been joined by The Undertaker, Booker T, and Bubba Ray Dudley in mentoring the \’future greats\’ though in-ring battles and backstage challenges. With Triple H and Shawn Michaels also playing a role on the show, it remains to be seen which young wrestler earns a contract with WWE.

  • Mickie James Replies to Roxanne Perez\’s Dream Match Challenge

Veteran wrestler Mickie James has responded to NXT star Roxanne Perez naming her as a dream WrestleMania opponent, hinting that she may step back into the ring.

While James hasn’t competed in WWE since the 2022 Royal Rumble, she has made multiple backstage appearances at recent shows. Speaking with No Contest Wrestling, Perez listed several wrestling legends—AJ Lee, Lita, Trish Stratus, Chyna, and Mickie James—as her dream opponents. She specifically noted that matches against Stratus and James could be possible in 2025.

James acknowledged the mention on Twitter, playfully responding:

\”You gonna make me dust off my working boots @roxanne_wwe ?\”

The six-time WWE Women’s Champion last wrestled in September 2024, appearing for IWR on September 12. Meanwhile, Trish Stratus recently made her in-ring return at the 2025 Royal Rumble, where Perez delivered an impressive iron-woman performance.

With both Stratus and James potentially available for a future match, a high-profile showdown with Perez could be on the horizon.

  • Bayley, Mickie James, and Others React to WWE-TNA Deal

The wrestling world has been abuzz with excitement following the announcement of a groundbreaking collaboration between WWE and TNA Wrestling. Wrestling stars took to social media to share their thoughts on the unexpected partnership.

WWE Superstar Bayley joked, “Finally, my TNA Gut Check tryout has paid off!!!” referencing TNA’s developmental program from years past.

Santino Marella, known for his comedic persona, chimed in with, “This feels so right!!” hinting at the potential nostalgia and excitement surrounding the deal.

Mickie James, who has deep ties to both WWE and TNA, expressed her enthusiasm with, “Ooooh… I like this,” adding fuel to the growing speculation about what this collaboration might entail.

Zachary Wentz, currently a part of WWE NXT, delivered a series of humorous tweets. In one, he asked, “Yo, so when y’all gonna let me tag with @gigidolin_wwe at TNA? We do mixed tags over here! Pleasseeeeee!” In another, he quipped about his history with TNA, saying, “I do believe @TheTreyMiguel and I are still the number one contenders for the NXT Tag Titles right?”

Former WWE Champion John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield (JBL) also reacted in his signature style, tweeting, “I guess I should pack an extra clothesline for Dallas next week,” likely hinting at potential cross-promotional appearances.

Meanwhile, A.J. Francis joked about the unpredictability of the wrestling world, saying, “When you walk in the back door after they kicked you out the front…”

Xia Brookside, a former NXT UK star, raised eyebrows with her cryptic tweet, “Am I going to @WWENXT?!”

The possibility of talent swaps between WWE and TNA has fans speculating about dream matches and new opportunities for wrestlers across both rosters.

Nathan Frazer kept it simple yet intriguing with, “The possibilities…”

What the Deal Means for Wrestling Fans

The WWE-TNA deal represents a significant shift in the wrestling landscape, creating opportunities for cross-promotional events, dream matchups, and shared storytelling. Both WWE and TNA have rich histories and passionate fanbases, and this partnership could bridge the gap between the two companies in unprecedented ways.

What WWE Stands To Benefit from the TNA Partnership

  • Mickie James Is Ready To Make WWE & TNA Return Happen

Mickie James is an undisputed legend of the ring, and the former Women\’s Champion is ready for one more match in either WWE or TNA Wrestling. When a fan on X shared their hope to see James back in either promotion, the 45-year-old wrestler teased that this could happen down the line.

James has a successful history in both promotions with several championship reigns to her name. James\’ most recent match for WWE was as part of the 2022 Women\’s Royal Rumble match, though she entered as a representative for TNA (then Impact Wrestling.) James\’ most recent match for TNA came at October 2023\’s Bound for Glory event, where she challenged Knockouts Champion Trinity (now Naomi.)

As a legend of women\’s wrestling, a return to either company would be huge for James and allow her to work with familiar opponents as well as talent she\’s never stepped in the ring with. A return to WWE could also see James reunite with real-life husband Nick Aldis who joined WWE this year as SmackDown\’s General Manager.

With WWE and TNA partnering in 2024, fans can\’t count out James appearing in both promotions as part of this teased return to the ring. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Mickie James and the next steps in her pro-wrestling journey.

  • List Of Legends At WWE Bad Blood

WWE had a huge list of legends in attendance for Bad Blood and the likes of such had its fair share of ties to Atlanta, GA.

The company started off the PLE by showing that Goldberg was in attendance with his son Gage who nearly got physical with GUNTHER after the WWE World Heavyweight Champion called \’Da Man\’ out later on in the show.

However, there was a quite the plethora of names taking in the action. In addition to Goldberg, Bad Blood also featured several WCW luminaries including Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Diamond Dallas Page, Booker T, Scott Steiner and Syxx aka Sean Waltman.

    https://twitter.com/BWAChief/status/1842708667130376270

Other names also in the crowd were Jacqueline Moore, Lillian Garcia and Mickie James.

Arn Anderson may have gotten the biggest pop out of all the legends and for good reason. \’The Enforcer\’ shocked the fans at WWE SummerSlam in Cleveland when he so happened to share a few words of wisdom for Cody Rhodes before he went out for his WWE Undisputed Title defense against Solo Sikoa. Arn\’s attendance at Bad Blood constitutes as a full circle moment as Cody Rhodes will be tagging up with Roman Reigns to face Solo once again. However, this time Sikoa has Jacob Fatu as his tag team partner.

WWE legends weren\’t the only dignitaries in town. Hip-hop artists Killer Mike, Metro Boomin\’ and Lil Baby were also seen sitting at ringside. Killer Mike was sitting beside Goldberg to start off the show who seems to be good friends with the WWE Hall of Famer.

  • Ex-WWE Star Gene Snitsky Punts A Baby (Again!) At \’The Last Match\’ Rock Experience

Former WWE Superstar Gene Snitsky proved that the years haven\’t dulled his punting skills with a surprise appearance at The Last Match musical experience

The 54-year-old Snitsky appeared at the show associated with The Last Match stage show. Snitsky confronted \’Mother\’ (played by fellow WWE alum Mickie James) a character in the show that is never far apart from her baby. After taking hold of the (thankfully plastic) child, Snitsky showed that he could still punt a baby with the best of them.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/p:C6-FOqzxTDF

The spot in question was a follow-up from an infamous segment from a late 2004 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw. After Lita suffered a (kayfabe) miscarriage due to a collision with Kane that Snitsky caused, Gene confronted the future WWE Hall of Famer. Snitsky, who constantly reminded fans \”IT WASN\’T MY FAULT\” would arrive with a doll of a baby that he would punt into the crowd.

This time, it WAS his fault.

    The Last Match

Mickie James is just one of several big names on the cast of The Last Match. TNA Wrestling broadcaster Matthew \’Aiden English\’ Rehwoldt plays \’The Boss\’ while recent-NXT departure McKenzie Mitchell plays broadcaster Scarlett Sublime. Bull \’Dempsey\’ James plays Sam The Barbarian while Afa Anoa\’i Jr. portrays The Surgeon/Son of Stalin. Popular YouTube personality plays the show\’s main antagonist Alexander Swagger.

The Last Match tells the story of Ben Vengeance, a journeyman wrestler who prepares to step in the ring for what will be his titular last match. Vengeance\’s final match sees the veteran face BTD Heavyweight Champion Alexander Swagger. The show has proven to be a hit with audiences and you can check out the official SE Scoops review below.

  • \’The Last Match\’ Review: A Seamless Blend Of Wrestling, Rock and Musical Theater

Set against the backdrop of the squared circle, \”The Last Match\” seamlessly blends the larger-than-life spectacle of professional wrestling with the electric energy of rock \’n\’ roll and the cinematic storytelling of musical theater – making it a truly one-of-a-kind experience.

Now, I’ll be the first to admit that musical theater isn’t a niche that I generally gravitate toward, but after attending the production’s opening night in Rochester, I emerged with a newfound appreciation for it. Likewise, upon speaking with some non-wrestling fans afterwards, I learned that “The Last Match” opened their eyes to the world of professional wrestling.

Created and directed by Jeremiah James, “The Last Match” follows the story of 30-year veteran Ben Vengeance (played by the singer of 80s tribute band The Reagan Years, Anthony Nuccio), who is preparing to step into the ring for his final match at BTD Wrestling Alliance’s World War V event (set in the year 1989).

Anthony Nuccio as Ben Vengeance in The Last Match

Vengeance’s final match isn’t just a normal retirement match; it’s a title match for the coveted BTD Heavyweight Championship – a title that Vengeance has held a record-setting 12 times. For this occasion, Vengeance is slated to defend his title against the ever-conceited and crude Alexander Swagger (played by British professional wrestler – and in my opinion, the bloody brilliant – Simon Miller), who is looking to position himself as the next top star in BTD.

Fueled by his pure respect and passion for the wrestling business, Vengeance seems inclined to put over (or in layman’s terms – lose to) Swagger on his way out. His girlfriend and fellow professional wrestler, “The Fabulous” Miss Jenny (played by Mikayla Agrella), however, wants to see BTD honor Vengeance’s legacy with a departing title retention.

Ultimately, the outcome of Vengeance’s final match will be decided by The Boss (portrayed by TNA Wrestling commentator Matthew Rehwoldt), who, with his Vince McMahon-inspired strut, reiterates that “nothing in the ring is personal, it’s just business.” With multiple different agendas circulating, the finish to this title match is far from predictable, leading to a rather captivating sequence of events.

Simon Miller (as Alexander Swagger) and Anthony Nuccio (as Ben Vengeance), with McKenzie Mitchell (as Scarlett Sublime) and Jeff Seal (as Jimmy Sutton) on commentary in the background.

Outside of the main event storyline between Vengeance and Swagger, viewers are also introduced to a diverse cast of supporting characters who carry forth terrific talent in in-ring, vocal, narration, and theatrical performance. The Ref (played by Trinity Colvin), specifically, covers all four of those departments with enthralling ease. In addition to her duties as the in-ring official and on-stage singer, Colvin provides valuable narration that not only ties several scenes together, but also effectively explains wrestling jargon for the non-wrestling members of the audience.

Mickie James (as The Mother) and Mikayla Agrella (as Miss Jenny), with Trinity Colvin (as The Ref) preparing to officiate their match.

Another stand-out performance stems from that of former TNA Knockouts Mickie James, who plays the over-the-top character of The Mother. Alongside being a multi-decade veteran in the ring, The Mother is known for being exactly that – a mother (of 15 kids, to be specific). James, of course, fits both of these categories in real life, making her a natural fit for the role of The Mother. (James’ vocal abilities also come to the forefront as The Mother delivers a raspy and highly entertaining singing promo ahead of her match against Miss Jenny).

Professional wrestling fans will be treated to some more familiar faces, as the likes of Bull James (slotted as Sam the Barbarian), Afa Anoa\’i Jr. (The Surgeon/Son of Stalin), and McKenzie Mitchell (commentator Scarlett Sublime) unleash their own unique personalities in the show.

Aside from the magnificent cast, I also have to give props to Sylvana Joyce and The Moment, the band of “The Last Match,” whose exhilarating performance greatly complements the 80s-themed production. Jason Huza is credited for the musical\’s book and lyrics, while Sylvana Joyce and guitarist C. Robert Smith additionally serve as composers and lyricists.

Trinity Colvin (as The Ref) rocking out with the band\’s guitarist C. Robert Smith while a mixed tag team match plays out in the background.

Overall, with its gripping narrative, compelling in-ring action, and soul-stirring music, \”The Last Match\” engages the audience from the beginning to the end, or in this case, the first bell to the final chord. So whether you\’re a wrestling enthusiast, a music aficionado, a theater kid, or simply someone looking for a night of entertainment, \”The Last Match\” promises to be an absolute must-see. 10/10, would (and will) see it again.

\”The Last Match\” will continue its tour with a few more dates in Winston-Salem, Columbia, and Atlanta.

  • The Last Match 80s Wrestling Rock Musical Going On Tour With All-Star Cast

Rock & Roll wrestling musical The Last Match is set to go on tour next month with an all-star cast of actors and wrestlers attached to the show.

News of the tour was shared on Twitter by Simon Miller of WhatCulture fame. The tour will begin on May 7 in Burlington, Vermont, and conclude on May 18 in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Last Match tells the story of Ben Vengeance, a journeyman wrestler who prepares to step in the ring for what will be his titular last match. Vengeance\’s final match sees the veteran face BTD Heavyweight Champion Alexander Swagger (as played by Miller.)

Wrestling productions out of the ring have grown increasingly more popular in recent years. NBC\’s Young Rock told the story of Dwayne Johnson\’s rise to superstardom and his life growing up in a wrestling dynasty. Starz\’s Heels received rave reviews for its portrayal of a small-time wrestling promotion\’s efforts to survive and included an impressive cast featuring Stephen Amell and CM Punk.

2008\’s The Wrestler received critical acclaim for its telling of Randy \’The Ram\’ Robinson (Mickey Rourke) and his journey as his wrestling career reached its end. The film scored Rourke a BAFTA award, a Golden Globe award, and a Best Actor nomination at the Oscars

    An All-Star Cast

Miller, who also competed for TNA Wrestling at their Turning Point 2023 event, isn\’t the only notable name involved. Former WWE personality McKenzie Mitchell has been cast as BTD interviewer Scarlett Sublime. Matthew Rehwoldt (aka Aiden English in WWE) has been cast as \’The Boss.\’

  • Vix Crow (Alicia Fox) Victorious In First Wrestling Match in Years at Starrcast: Down Under

Vix Crow, better known to fans as WWE\’s Alicia Fox, proved she\’s still got \’it\’ with an impressive victory in her first wrestling match in a very long time.

Crow competed against fellow WWE alum Mickie James at the all-female Starrcast: Down Under \’HER\’ event. As seen in the match highlights below, Crow hadn\’t lost a step when she defeated the former WWE & TNA Women\’s Champion.

This match was Crow\’s first official match in wrestling since January 2022 when she was a surprise entrant in the WWE Women\’s Royal Rumble match won by Ronda Rousey (which also featured James.) The match at \’HER\’ was Crow\’s first singles match since the April 22, 2019, edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, where she lost to Becky Lynch. Her previous singles victory was back on the July 30, 2018, episode of Raw where she defeated Natalya.

    Vix Crow is Back

Crow was with WWE for over a decade but confirmed in May 2023 that she was a free agent. Crow later admitted that she felt bad about how things ended with WWE as there was a lack of communication by the promotion over her status on the roster.

Whether Vix Crow wrestles again or if her role at Starrcast was a one-off remains to be seen. In the past, the former WWE Divas & 24/7 Champion has shown interest in facing off with Deonna Purrazzo and Ruby Soho, both of whom are with AEW. Whatever the future holds, Crow remains in great ring condition which certainly bodes well for her future.

  • Mickie James Joins OVW as Creative Director, Producer, and Head of Female Talent

Ohio Valley Wrestling will benefit from the expertise of Mickie James now that the veteran has signed with the company.

In a press release, OVW confirmed that James will serve as Creative Director and Head of Female Talent, as well as Executive Producer for all OVW wrestling shows. Lead OVW Commentator and Producer Bryan Kennison said the following:

“Mickie James is a name synonymous with excellence in the wrestling industry, and we are incredibly excited to be working with her. Her experience, talent, and vision will be invaluable in elevating our programming and our women’s division to new heights.”

OVW CEO Al Snow had a similar sentiment to James being brought in. He said:

“We are not just working with a superstar, we are embracing a vision for the future. Mickie’s influence will transcend the ring. inspiring a new generation of wrestlers and fans alike.”

On Twitter, Matt Jones, the co-owner of OVW Wrestling, shared his excitement about the news.

    Mickie James and OVW

Mickie James is no stranger to Ohio Valley Wrestling as after signing with WWE in 2003, she was sent to OVW which was the promotion\’s developmental territory at the time. Highlights of James\’ tenure with OVW include winning a Halloween costume contest in October 2004 and defeating Jillian Hall in a $1,000 match the following month.

In 2005, James was part of a tournament to crown an OVW Television Champion after the title had been vacated. The only woman in the tournament, James defeated Mike Mondo in the first round before losing to \’Blaster\’ Lashley in the second. She was called up to the main roster that same year.

Mickie James is set to work with OVW, but the legend is also set to do big things down under…

  • NXT Star Wants To Win The WWE Women Tag Titles With Mickie James

One NXT talent wants to sit under the learning tree of Mickie James even if the legend is not with WWE.

Fallon Henley, who has been building her resume on Shawn Michaels\’ version of the black and gold brand, caught a clip of the women\’s tag team match on WWE Raw this Monday, and she decided to shoot her shot with James on X. She also pitched an added incentive.

\”Mickie James hear me out – what if we saddled up, you taught me to be hardcore country and we went for the WWE Women’s Tag Titles. I’ll bring the drinks!\”

The notion that James could make a return to WWE isn\’t completley out of the realm of possibility. James kicked down the \”forbidden door\” of promotions, when she was Impact Knockouts Champion and entered the Royal Rumble in 2022. In a pro wrestling first, Impact gold was proudly displayed on WWE television.

Even just on Raw the past Monday, CM Punk name-dropped Mickie before he signed on to be a member of the WWE Raw roster. Punk noted how he made his WWE debut in this very town of Cleveland, OH with Mickie James at his side before he was sent down to OVW. James even took to X to express her friendship with Punk following the moment.

    \”That’s my Brother. That’s my Friend.\”

Not only does James have the CM Punk ties, but indirectly has a presence on WWE SmackDown as well. James\’ husband, Nick Aldis, currently serves as the brand\’s on-air general manager.

  • For The Betterment Of AEW, Tony Khan Needs To Hot Tag In These Duos Behind The Curtain

One really couldn’t think of a greater moral compass for a wrestling company than Bryan Danielson. He by all accounts, has the perfect balance of life – one that exists outside of wrestling (which is pretty key if we’re being honest – wrestlers and fans alike). He’s got a family to keep him grounded, causes to be an advocate for and plenty of books to read. He can disassociate from pro wrestling, a career he’s still absolutely passionate about, but bring in out of the ring elements for better synergy.

Even that considered, he’s a team player, extremely considerate and a modern wrestling oracle to pick the brain of. You factor in Jerry Lynn, those two are the ultimate good cops.

    You need a bad cop.

A heavy. Someone who doesn’t take any kind of nonsense, looks at the bottom line for what it is. Does “they” or “their actions” or what they\’re doing help the growth of the company? If they don’t do such, cut whatever fat there may be. There should be two credible sheriffs in town and that “bad cop” onus should not be burdened upon one of your top on-air talents.

That’s also not saying Tony Khan should recruit a \”yes man, either. Being a billionaire, he\’s probably got a few already and they’re certainly not helping to grow the product. However, if Tony could take himself out of the equation, and put the trust in the team he’s assembled, he would do wonders for his company. A company that quite frankly, is failing to hit its mark in certain ways.

In addition to a heavy, there’s so many established names who could help better the promotion if he gave them full autonomy to regulate like Nate Dogg and Warren G. And instead of just one, why not make it two? Here are some “tag teams” behind the scenes that Tony Khan could utilize (two of which who currently aren\’t under contract).

    Jake Roberts & Arn Anderson

Who was equally excited and intrigued at the possibility of Jake Roberts back with a pro wrestling company? Who was also equally disappointed that Arn wasn’t made the most of during his tenure here? Both he and his son Brock were not re-signed when their contracts expired and it feels like a missed opportunity by Tony Khan on both names, who seemed to only associate them with Cody Rhodes’ time here.

How much could that young talent learn from “The Snake” or “The Enforcer”when it comes to promo skills, ring psychology and real life problems?

Re-sign the Andersons and designate Arn and Jake as your Dusty Rhodes to your NXT. Let them filter through the good and the bad before they’re Dynamite ready and don’t let anybody tell them “no” either.

    Jeff Jarrett & Jim Ross

Tony Khan admittedly says he overworks himself and that’s why Bryan Danielson appointed Jimmy Jacobs to help as an assistant. Khan did tap into wrestling history when he signed Jeff Jarrett, first as a talent and then as the Senior Vice President of Live Events, but Double J wears a lot of hats. Khan has shown the capability of laying out a great (albeit very long) PPV, but weekly television programming is another story. Actually sometimes there’s so many stories it’s hard to pin good ones down, especially if you’re a casual viewer.

Allowing Jarrett and JR (who currently is away from television), to be your ultimate booking brain trust lends your company to the old school booking mindset, a structure AEW truly needs. Paring two names who learned from the best in the territory days is really only going to help a show that’s too fast-paced and too cluttered.

    Karen Jarrett & Mickie James

If you watch the AEW women’s division, you know it feels neglected. Major names and pinnacle storytellers like Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker are currently not competing, and the announcements of any women’s match feels sudden without any pomp, circumstance or substance (with the exception of “Timeless” Toni Storm, of course.)

She may not be under contract with AEW, but Mickie James knows how to book an all-women’s wrestling show. She did that with NWA Empowerrr and she’s doing it again in 2024 in Australia as a part of Starrcast VI.

Karen Jarrett knows how to make the most of her on camera without even doing a hip-toss. Unfortunately for the women, many don’t receive the experience or the opportunity to let their personalities shine. Both these veterans tagging up would do wonders for bringing the AEW women back to relevancy.

    Paul Wight & Mark Henry

Remember the aforementioned “heavy”? Taking it figuratively and literally with this these two. Both legends are currently signed with AEW, but not much is being done with either and it’s unfortunate. Wight is someone who’s main-evented and worked with main-eventers his entire career while Henry has been someone who’s wrestled all throughout the card.

You think a talent is going to go off-script or do a dangerous move for a forgettable pop if they have to answer to Wight or Henry afterwards? If they did it would most likely be their last time and that’s not even considering the name cache they. Make these two your “bad cops” and they would know how to maintain a healthy relationship in the locker room.

    Matt Hardy & Chris Jericho

From how it sounds, AEW has its fair share of locker room leaders behind the scenes, but what about having two primary checkpoints who have shown the ability to adapt, innovate and sympathize?

Jericho and Hardy have formed friendships with anybody and everybody of whatever status or age, including the AEW EVPs. Maybe they already are, but making them the go-to mediators for any issues between boots and management could cultivate a solid structure within AEW’s loaded ecosystem of stars.

    Jerry Lynn & Dustin Rhodes

Nobody should ever have a bad word to say about Jerry Lynn and if you do, you’re likely part of the problem. It’s been too awesome to have Lynn and Dustin Rhodes be a vital part of AEW’s growth and if there’s been chaos backstage, you can guarantee neither have been apart of it.

Giving them the opportunity to harness and harmonize your roster from an in-ring standpoint is likely something that has happened on several occasions. Both have an old-school upbringing, but very different styles, Make them have the final say as to what goes down between the ropes every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Appreciate The Past & Look Forward To The Future

With all these legendary names behind the curtain or in the ring, it\’s easy to say so many are being under-utilized, but the presentation of the current AEW product speaks to the notion that they\’re standing on the apron.

Give them the hot tag and let them take you home. That\’s teamwork.
