AEW Partners With West End Wrestling Musical For London Run

AEW is stepping into musical theatre. The company announced a partnership with The Last Match: A Pro-Wrestling Rock Experience, an immersive live production opening in London’s West End this fall, with AEW talent set to appear at select performances.

The deal puts AEW’s name on an established show that blends an original 1980s-inspired rock score, theatrical storytelling, and live professional wrestling. The story follows one wrestler’s final pay-per-view event, built around themes of retirement, legacy, family, and walking away from a life’s work. AEW describes it as the first time a major wrestling company has moved into original musical theatre.

The production will run at a 52,000 square foot venue near Tottenham Court Road, converted into what the company calls an immersive wrestling and rock-and-roll environment. AEW says the show is designed for all ages, whether or not attendees have ever watched a wrestling match.

Tony Khan framed the partnership as both a creative experiment and a business play in a key market. “This marks an incredible opportunity to partner All Elite Wrestling with an established theatrical production, showcase AEW stars during select performances and further expand our footprint in the London market,” the AEW CEO said.

Director, lead producer, and co-creator Jeremiah James, who appeared in the 2008 West End revival of Carousel at the Savoy Theatre, credited Khan with backing the concept. “I am deeply grateful to Tony Khan and everyone at All Elite Wrestling for believing in this project and embracing a creative risk that has never been attempted before,” James said.

Chavo Guerrero Among The Production Team

The creative team carries real wrestling credentials. Chavo Guerrero serves as executive producer and wrestling consultant, bringing experience from screen projects including The Iron Claw and GLOW. Bull James is the show’s wrestling booker, with Brandon Scott as associate booker.

Three-time Emmy-nominated producer Frank Licari is executive producer. Book and lyrics come from Jason Huza, with additional book, music, and lyrics by Sylvana Joyce and C. Robert Smith. Tatevik Hunanyan serves as associate director.

Licari pointed to the live wrestling element as the production’s hook. “The story, music, and characters remain the same, but the live wrestling element creates opportunities for surprises, special guests, and moments that can only happen in that room on that night,” he said.

Each performance opens with a preshow interactive wrestling experience featuring themed installations and exhibits. Unlike most West End shows, the production will encourage audiences to film and post in real time.

Tickets will range from £30 to £80, with VIP add-ons available. AEW says additional casting, partnership news, and ticketing details are coming in the weeks ahead, and fans can register through the AEW Insider program for information on AEW appearances.
