Liv Morgan WWE Injury Update: What The Referee Signal Really Meant

WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan was cleared to continue after her injury scare at WWE’s live event in Birmingham, according to a new update from Dave Meltzer.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer pointed to the referee’s X fist signal as confirmation that Morgan was okay despite the alarming moment.

Meltzer clarified it was used here to signal that Morgan was fine to keep going.

Dave Meltzer reported that the contact was not as bad as it initially seemed. He said that Sol landed close to Morgan’s foot and not her knee.

Meltzer further noted that the match official checked on Liv and raised one fist in the air, which indicated that the wrestler was okay to continue wrestling. However, he did note that Morgan limped at times during the remainder of the bout.

The scare came during a multi-person match in Birmingham, where Morgan faced IYO SKY, Lyra Valkyria, and Sol Ruca. Morgan appeared to sustain an ankle injury after Ruca’s top rope spot landed awkwardly.

The footage spread quickly online, prompting concern among fans before any clarification surfaced. Meltzer’s account reframes the moment as a minor issue rather than a serious injury.

As of now, Morgan is cleared to compete with no serious injury confirmed.
