  • Linda McMahon: WWE Friendship Led to Trump White House Role

US Secretary of Education Linda McMahon recently detailed how her friendship with President Donald Trump, stemming from WWE, led to her role in the White House. McMahon served as CEO of WWE until 2009 and was heavily involved in business operations, licensing deals, TV deals, and merchandising.

McMahon first came across Donald Trump more than twenty years ago at a Rolling Stones concert, where Trump had invited her husband, and former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

Trump also made an appearance at WrestleMania 23 in 2007, strengthening the McMahon family\’s business relationship with him. McMahon has now explained how her relationship with Trump began through WWE and led to her cabinet position.

    McMahon\’s Cabinet Role

In an interview with Going Ringside, Linda McMahon said:

\”It was almost 30 years ago now and we met and he was a big fan of the product of WWE and he came in he was in some of our story lines some of the highest rated storylines. We became friends and we\’ve been friends ever since and I was honored it was the honor of a lifetime to serve in his cabinet.\”

McMahon served as head of the Small Business Administration (SBA) from 2017, resigning in April 2019. She was later nominated by President-elect Trump on November 19, 2024, to serve as U.S. Secretary of Education for the second Trump administration.

McMahon is also chair of the board for the America First Policy Institute. The McMahons have donated over $68 million to political causes in the last decade.

  • Linda McMahon Recalls Going Bankrupt: \”We Lost Everything\”

Linda McMahon, a co-founder of Titan Sports, Inc. and a key architect in the global expansion of WWE, recently opened up about one of the most difficult periods in her and her husband Vince McMahon\’s life: the time they went into bankruptcy.

While many might assume their financial struggles were related to the inherent risks of the wrestling business, Linda clarified that the bankruptcy was the result of a failed outside investment. Her story provides a candid look at the challenges they faced in the early 1980s, just as they were beginning to transform WWE from a regional territory into a national powerhouse.

Speaking in a recent interview with Sage Steele, Linda McMahon was asked if she ever worried that their ambitious plans for WWE wouldn\’t work out. She explained that the company\’s financial ruin came from a different venture entirely.

“No, because we were building as we went. However, during that time, we did have an accountant who suggested that we were putting all of our eggs in one basket, and we should diversify a little bit. He made some suggestions that we should invest in a construction company. We knew absolutely nothing about it. We put money into some construction accounts, co-signed on some loans. That went belly up, which eventually put us into bankruptcy. It wasn’t the wrestling side of what we were doing, but it was the other side that we invested in, outside of what we were doing with wrestling. We lost everything. My house was auctioned off. My car was repossessed in the driveway. I was pregnant with Stephanie. I know what it’s like to lose everything.”

Linda McMahon later went on to have a successful career in public service, most notably serving as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration from 2017 to 2019.

  • Janel Grant asks Vince McMahon, WWE for docs Relating to Linda McMahon in Federal Motion

Janel Grant, a former World Wrestling Entertainment employee suing Vince McMahon and the company for sex trafficking and sex assault in federal district court, is asking for documents and communications regarding Secretary of Education Linda McMahon and Dr. Carlon Colker of Peak Wellness in a motion filed on Monday.

The request was part of a motion to compel discovery ahead of an arbitration hearing. The defendants, Vince McMahon and WWE, believe Grant should adhere to an arbitration clause in a non-disclosure agreement she signed after she left WWE as an employee instead of pursuing her case in court.

UPDATE: Representatives for Janel Grant gave a statement to SEScoops.

\”WWE and McMahon had the opportunity to voluntarily provide discovery and they refused. They claim the NDA and its arbitration clause are enforceable, but resist any attempts to investigate whether Ms. Grant was coerced into signing it—facts that go to the heart of its enforceability. They can’t have it both ways. Today we asked the Court to allow that discovery to proceed, Ms. Grant deserves to have the facts about her case.\”

Grant\’s legal team claimed the NDA violates federal law including the Speak Out Act and the Federal Trafficking Victims Protection Act, as well as recent federal court precedent.

Grant is suing for discovery in Connecticut court against Colker and Peak Wellness, where she was treated at the behest of McMahon while she was employed at WWE. According to Grant\’s amended complaint, filed earlier this year, Grant was told by Vince McMahon their relationship was discovered by Linda McMahon which led to Grant\’s firing by WWE. Communications between employees and defendants involving Colker and Linda McMahon were part of an exhibit of discovery requests as part of Monday\’s filing.

The discovery motion mentioned communications between Vince McMahon and his former counsel Jerry McDevitt were available as evidence due to the federal crime-fraud exception in attorney-client privilege.

Prior to the previous arbitration hearing in 2024, federal prosecutors asked Grant for a stay in her civil suit. They said discovery ahead of the arbitration hearing could interfere with their investigation of Vince McMahon. A six-month stay was placed on the case, which expired in December 2024.

Shareholders suing Vince McMahon and TKO in the Delaware Court of the Chancery have asked for access to discovery evidence in other cases involving the former WWE owner and president, stating his issues with the federal investigation and the Grant cause led him to take a cheaper bid in the sale of WWE two years ago to TKO.

Representatives for Vince McMahon say the federal investigation ended earlier this year. An appeals court decision earlier this year, which ruled McDevitt and McMahon should provide missing documents to federal investigators, suggested the case was possibly still ongoing.

Grant, Vince McMahon and WWE have until July 11 to file responses to the discovery motion.

  • McMahons Claim No Duty to Protect Ring Boys in WWE Abuse Case

TKO, WWE, Vince McMahon, and Linda McMahon are formally moving to having the ring boy abuse lawsuit dismissed, claiming that they held no responsibility to protect the alleged victims. On Wednesday, June 11, attorneys representing the wrestling company and its former executives filed motions in Maryland federal court seeking to throw out the lawsuit. They argue that the defendants had no legal duty to the alleged victims.

The defendants argue they had no legal “duty of care” to protect the plaintiffs. WWE maintains that the ring crew were not employees, and even if they were, Phillips’ actions were not within the scope of his employment

\”Any alleged sexual abuse by Phillips in Maryland was plainly outside the scope of his employment, which means he was not acting as an agent of WWF (or TKO or WWE) at the time of the events.\”

The lawsuit was filed by eight anonymous former WWF ring crew members who allege they were sexually abused in the 1980s by former WWF ring announcer Mel Phillips and, in one instance, by former executive Pat Patterson. Both Phillips and Patterson are deceased and are not named as defendants.

Plaintiffs have until July 28 to respond to the dismissal motions, and the defense may file replies by August 27. A court hearing could follow, where both sides would present arguments directly to the judge.

This case is separate to Janel Grant\’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon, which resulted in his second departure from WWE in January 2024. McMahon has claimed that his relationship with Grant was wholly consensual. Today, Linda serves as the Secretary of Education under Donald Trump, a role that has sparked backlash given her lack of any background in education.

  • Linda McMahon, Vince McMahon, TKO file to have Ring Boy Suit Dismissed

Linda McMahon, Vince McMahon and TKO – the parent company of World Wrestling Entertainment – filed on Tuesday to have the amended complaint in the Ring Boy lawsuit dismissed due to a lack of jurisdiction.

All three defendants made separate filings. The defendants had filed similar motions earlier in the case, challenging Maryland as improper for the case to proceed. They asked the court to dismiss the case with prejudice.

The amended complaint was filed in April after more Ring Boys were added to the suit, making a total of eight plaintiffs. The complaint alleged Vince McMahon, Linda McMahon and WWE were negligent in preventing several teen and pre-teen boys from being assaulted by employees who worked in WWE. The company often hired pre-teen and teen boys to assemble rings prior to the 1990s.

The plaintiffs allege Vince and Linda McMahon were aware of the actions of their employees and were negligent in preventing the assaults from occurring.

In Maryland, cases of negligence in sex crimes cases do not have a statute of limitations after a state Supreme Court ruling.

None of the employees have been convicted in a criminal court for sex crimes. WWE had settled with former Ring Boy Tom Cole, who said he had been assaulted. Cole committed suicide in 2021 and was one of several former Ring Boys to accuse WWE employees of sexual assault while they were children.

  • SNL Uses Linda McMahon Being Tombstoned By Kane Used As Punchline

The latest Saturday Night Live (SNL) Weekend Update took aim at Linda McMahon’s WWE past in a new skit.

For years, McMahon served as CEO of WWE, working alongside her husband, Vince McMahon, the company\’s founder. During WWE’s Attitude Era, Linda was featured in several storylines as the McMahon family—Vince, Stephanie, and Shane—became prominent on-screen figures.

One notable storyline from 2003 saw her attacked by Kane to build up a feud between Kane and Shane McMahon. This angle was recently referenced on Weekend Update.

During the segment, Colin Jost used McMahon’s WWE history to joke about her role in dismantling the Department of Education. The punchline, “Maybe as high as 69,” was delivered alongside an image of Kane performing a Tombstone Piledriver on her.

While the skit acknowledged Linda McMahon’s WWE tenure, it did not mention that Kane’s portrayer, Glenn Jacobs, is now the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.

Jost and his Weekend Update co-host, Michael Che, are no strangers to WWE. The duo competed in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 35 in 2019, adding to the long history of celebrity involvement at WrestleMania.

  • Linda McMahon Asked About John Cena\’s Heel Turn at the State of the Union

John Cena\’s unexpected heel turn at WWE\’s Elimination Chamber event has become a significant talking point, extending its influence beyond the wrestling community. At the 2025 MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference, WWE\’s Chief Content Officer, Paul \”Triple H\” Levesque, discussed the extensive cultural impact of Cena\’s character transformation.

Levesque highlighted that within hours of the event, Cena\’s heel turn amassed over 100 million views on social media platforms. The storyline was prominently featured on major sports networks, with analysts debating its implications. Comedian Jon Stewart even utilized the event as a metaphor to discuss political dynamics in Washington, D.C.

Emphasizing the storyline\’s reach, Levesque shared that Linda McMahon, the newly appointed U.S. Secretary of Education, encountered the phenomenon firsthand. As she departed the State of the Union address, an attendee inquired about her thoughts on Cena\’s heel turn.

\”I think it’s no secret that my mother-in-law is the Secretary of Education,” he said. \”She just had a moment the other day where she was walking out of the State Of The Union.

One question someone shouted at her was, ‘Ms. McMahon, as the new Secretary of Education, what do you think about John Cena turning heel?’ It resonated so massively, and when you talk about cross-promotion, in the background of that scene is Travis Scott. It transcended everything. It was water cooler talk around the globe and made headlines everywhere.”

This incident exemplifies how WWE storylines can transcend traditional boundaries, influencing conversations in diverse sectors beyond the realm of sports entertainment.

  • She’s In: Linda McMahon Confirmed as U.S. Secretary of Education

The U.S. Senate has confirmed Linda McMahon as the Secretary of Education. McMahon, co-founder and former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), previously served as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration from 2017 to 2019.

During her confirmation hearings, McMahon addressed key educational issues, including the enforcement of Title IX protections based on biological sex and the potential restructuring of the Department of Education.

She emphasized her commitment to ensuring women’s safety in educational settings and acknowledged that any significant departmental changes would require congressional action.

Her appointment aligns with President Donald Trump’s agenda to reform federal education policies, focusing on reducing bureaucracy and enhancing school choice initiatives. McMahon’s business acumen and previous governmental experience are expected to influence her approach to leading the department.

  • Linda McMahon\’s Education Secretary Nomination Advances to Senate

Former WWE CEO Linda McMahon\’s nomination for Secretary of Education has moved to a final Senate confirmation vote following a 12-11 party-line approval from the Senate HELP Committee. McMahon, who previously led the Small Business Administration (2017-2019), was selected by President Trump to head the Department of Education.

During her confirmation hearings, McMahon addressed Trump\’s criticism of the department, acknowledging that its abolishment would require congressional approval. She outlined her vision to improve efficiency and reduce bureaucracy while committing to maintain funding for crucial programs including Title I for low-income schools, Pell Grants for college students, and the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.

McMahon also pledged to enforce Trump\’s executive orders on transgender athletes in school sports, antisemitism policies, and diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in educational institutions.

Republican senators have praised McMahon\’s business experience and leadership qualities. Senator Bill Cassidy, HELP Committee chairman, noted her \”extensive experience in managing large organizations will be invaluable in streamlining the Department of Education and improving outcomes

  • Forum to Examine Linda McMahon\’s Education Secretary Nomination

A panel discussion at The City College of New York will analyze Linda McMahon\’s nomination for Education Secretary following her advancement by the Senate HELP Committee. The committee approved her nomination in a 12-11 party-line vote on February 20, 2025, sending it to the full Senate for final consideration.

\”Understanding Linda McMahon: Secretary of Education in an age of TrumpMania\” will examine McMahon\’s proposed policies, including her support for reducing federal education oversight and emphasizing state control.

The event features Staten Island Technical High School Principal Mark Erlenwein, The City Tutors Executive Director Garri Rivkin, and journalist Brian R. Solomon, with S Jay Levy Fellowship Managing Director Lavie Margolin moderating.

The free forum takes place Tuesday, March 11, 3:30-4:45pm EDT in Shepard Hall (Room SH-350) at City College, 160 Convent Avenue. Registration is available through Eventbrite. Panelists will explore McMahon\’s background as WWE co-founder and her vision for federal education policy, as her nomination currently awaits Senate consideration.

  • Triple H, Stephanie & Shane Join Linda McMahon At Education Secretary Hearing

Linda McMahon, former WWE CEO, appeared before the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee today for her confirmation hearing as Secretary of Education. McMahon was joined by her daughter Stephanie and son-in-law Paul \’Triple\’ Levesque at the proceedings at the Dirksen Senate Office Building. Levesque was seated directly behind the nominee while Stephanie was to the right of her husband. Linda\’s son Shane was also present alongside his wife Marissa.

McMahon\’s hearing comes at a pivotal moment for the Department of Education, as President Trump has openly declared his intention to eliminate the agency. Trump, who McMahon worked for during his first presidency, has referred to the department as a \”big con job.\” Elon Musk\’s Department of Government Efficiency has already reduced the department\’s funding by nearly $1 billion, raising questions about McMahon\’s potential role in leading an agency marked for dissolution.

McMahon brings significant business acumen from her tenure transforming WWE into a multi-billion-dollar enterprise though has little background in education. Though McMahon previously served for one year on Connecticut\’s State Board of Education, her departure came with controversy. After her exit, it was revealed that she had misled the board when applying, claiming she had a Bachelors degree in Education. Her degree is actually in Frnech.

This confirmation process represents a crucial juncture for federal education policy as McMahon may be tasked with overseeing major structural changes. With McMahon dedicating her loyalty to Trump/Musk\’s plot to abolish the department, her time leading the DOE may be a short one if confirmed.

  • Pres. Trump Names Linda McMahon In Efforts to End Dept. of Education

U.S. President and WWE Hall of Famer Donald Trump has planns to dismantle the Department of Education, an act that would have profound effects on the education of children throughout the country. Speaking from the Oval Office this week, Trump named former WWE CEO and his pick to lead the Department Linda McMahon as a key player in his plans.

\”I want Linda to put herself out of a job… We spend more per pupil than any other country in the world and we\’re ranked at the bottom of the list… What I want to do is let the states run schools.\”

    McMahon\’s Unlikely Appointment

Linda McMahon\’s appointment to lead the DOE spawned controversy from the moment the former WWE CEO\’s name was announced. McMahon has no formal training as an educator. In 2010, McMahon stepped down from the Connecticut Board of Education. Shortly after, it was shared that McMahon had falsely claimed to have a degree in education from East Carolina University in 1969, when her degree was actually in French.

Trump\’s plans to dismantle the DOE has been met with criticism by some. Currently the Dept. of Education distributes federal funding to state and local education agencies, supports special education, and ensures equal access to education, among other tasks.

Despite being a WWE Hall of Famer, Trump\’s political leanings have been ignored by the wrestling juggernaut for the most part. However, the McMahons were present at Trump\’s New Year\’s Eve celebration, showing the family\’s connection to the President. After being booed during Raw\’s debut on Netflix, Hulk Hogan has blamed the response on his support for Trump and his past as part of the NWO.

  • Triple H & McMahons Ring In 2025 At Donald Trump\’s Mar-A-Lago Resort

WWE CCO Paul \’Triple H\’ Levesque and members of the McMahon family celebrated the arrival of 2025 with Donald Trump at Mar-A-Lago. On X, Andrew Guliana, son of former New York City mayor Rudy Guliani, shared a photo with the Game.

Levesque didn\’t attend the festivities alone, as Stephanie McMahon and Linda McMahon also attended. The elder McMahon has been touted by President-Elect Trump to lead the Department of Education despite no history in teaching. In 2010, McMahon stepped down from Connecticut\’s Board of Education, and it was reported days later that she had falsely claimed her bachelors degree was in education (it is in French.)

    https://media.sescoops.com/uploads/2025/01/\"https://media.sescoops.com/uploads/2025/01/\"

The President-Elect and his wife Melania were also seen celebrating at Mar-A-Lago, though it\’s unclear if Vince McMahon joined his daughter and son-in-law in Florida. The 79-year-old former Chairman of WWE is a known friend of Trump and is currently facing Janel Grant\’s lawsuit alleging sexual trafficking.

Wrestling with Politics: How Donald Trump Brought WWE to the White House

While Triple H and the McMahons were spotted at Mar-A-Lago, WWE opts not to reference Trump on TV, despite his status as a WWE Hall of Famer. Given the ongoing toxic nature of politics, the Sports Entertainment juggernaut opts to avoid the topic altogether, despite Trump\’s recent victory and McMahon\’s apparent appointment in his cabinet.

  • WWE Ring Boy Lawsuit Paused As Maryland Court Weighs Up Key Law

The lawsuit brought against WWE, TKO and others by former \’ring boys\’ has been put on pause due to an upcoming ruling by the Maryland Supreme Court. Federal Judge James K. Bredar ruled to stay proceedings until the Supreme Court rules on whether the state\’s Child Victims Act is constitutional.

The CVA, which was first introduced in 2023, removes the statute of limitations for civil lawsuits involving child sexual abuse, even in cases of negligence. The law is crucial to the case brought forward, as they alleged abuse took place decades ago.

The lawsuit was filed in October and alleges that former WWE employee Mel Phillips sexually abused the five plaintiffs, anonymized as John Doe 1 through 5, while they worked as ring boys in the 1980s. It also claims that WWE, Vince, and Linda McMahon failed to act despite being aware of Phillips\’ conduct. Phillips passed away in 2012.

Vince McMahon\’s attorney Jessica T. Rosenberg, also representing McMahon in the Janel Grant lawsuit, has described the case as full of claims that are \”untrue and unfounded.\” Linda McMahon\’s lawyer Laura Brevetti has described the lawsuit as “filled with scurrilous lies, exaggerations, and misrepresentations.”

The Maryland Supreme Court\’s ruling on whether the CVA is constitutional or not is expected by August 2025. If passed, it will allow this case and others like this one to move forward, regardless of how much time has passed since the alleged abuse. This is an ongoing case and we seek to bring updates in due time.

  • Linda McMahon Issues Statement After Being Named Next Secretary of Education

Linda McMahon has issued her first statement since being named the next US Secretary of Education by President-elect Donald Trump.

The former WWE CEO took to Twitter to repost the statement from President Trump, and wrote that she is looking forward to working with students and educators to strengthen the US education system:

\”I look forward to working collaboratively with students – educators – parents and communities to strengthen our educational system; ensuring every child regardless of their demographics is prepared for a bright future.\”

Linda\’s daughter and former WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon was the first member of their family who congratulated the female politician on her new role:

    Linda McMahon\’s Political Career

Linda McMahon previously served as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration between 2017 and 2019, during Trump\’s first term.

She played a crucial role in getting the Businessman-politician re-elected. McMahon was one of the top donors of the 2024 Republican campaign and she was also named the co-chair of Trump\’s 2024 transition team.

There has been a lot of chatter about how Linda\’s appointment and Trump\’s re-election will affect the ongoing federal investigation against former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon over sexual trafficking charges.

Though Linda\’s attorney has claimed that she is separated from the billionaire wrestling promoter and our analysis suggests that Trump will not be able to pardon all of Vince\’s legal woes away.

  • Trump Nominates Former WWE CEO Linda McMahon as Education Secretary

President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Linda McMahon as the next Secretary of Education. McMahon, co-founder and former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), previously served as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration from 2017 to 2019.

McMahon\’s appointment aligns with Trump’s vision to reduce federal oversight in education, as he has expressed intentions to eliminate the Department of Education. Her extensive experience in business and her previous cabinet role highlight her as a significant figure in the WWE community, now poised to influence national education policy.

Linda McMahon\’s ties to Donald Trump span both wrestling and politics. Their partnership began in the 1980s when WWE ran events at Trump\’s Atlantic City properties, culminating in Trump\’s memorable appearance at WrestleMania 23 in 2007.

McMahon later transitioned to politics, serving as Trump\’s Small Business Administration chief from 2017 to 2019. She continued supporting his initiatives as America First Policy Institute\’s leader and co-chair of his transition team.

    \"Donald

Now, with her expected return to the cabinet as Secretary of Education, McMahon would oversee one of the smallest federal agencies – one that manages federal student aid, educational research, and anti-discrimination efforts while accounting for less than 10% of public school funding nationwide.

  • Vince & Linda McMahon Are Separated, Says Linda\’s Attorney

Former WWE heads Vince and Linda McMahon are separated, according to an attorney for the latter who spoke this week. In a statement to the Washington Post, Linda’s attorney, Laura Brevetti stated that the 76-year-old and Vince are separated.

This news comes amid reports that President-Elect Trump will nominate McMahon as Education Secretary in his next administration. Linda served as Trump’s Small Business Administration chief from 2017 to 2019 and has remained supportive of his initiatives, including his attempts to overturn the 2020 Presidential Election. McMahon served on Connecticut\’s Board of Education from 2009-2010 but has no history in teaching.

Much was made of the relationship of Vince and Linda following the 2022 \’hush money\’ scandal that saw Vince step away from WWE in June of that year. While McMahon was able to force his way back into WWE in January 2023, he stepped down in January 2024 due to Janel Grant\’s lawsuit. McMahon was tight-lipped during the recent Mr. McMahon docuseries by Netflix which explored some of Vince and WWE\’s past controversies.

    The Ring Boy Lawsuit

The McMahons, alongside WWE and TKO, are facing another lawsuit regarding the \’Ring Boy\’ scandal, which alleges that underage boys were groomed, exploited, and abused by Mel Phillips at wrestling events and other locations. In a statement, Brevetti said the following about her client\’s ties to the suit.

\”This lawsuit based upon thirty-plus-year-old allegations is filled with scurrilous lies, exaggerations, and misrepresentations.\”

Linda and Vince married in 1966 when she was 17 and he was 21. The pair have two children, both of whom are married, and six grandchildren. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Linda McMahon.

  • Linda McMahon to Lead Trump\’s Department of Commerce (Report)

As President-elect Donald Trump prepares to return to the White House in January 2025, speculation is mounting about who will fill key positions in his administration. Among the names being floated for high-level roles is Linda McMahon, former WWE executive and previous member of Trump\’s first-term cabinet.

McMahon is a frontrunner to lead the Department of Commerce as Secretary in Trump\’s second administration, according to Charles Gasparino, Senior Correspondent at Fox Business. The Department of Commerce plays a crucial role in promoting economic growth and opportunity, making it a key position in any administration.

    Linda McMahon\’s Political Background

Linda McMahon, 76, is no stranger to Trump\’s inner circle. She served as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration from 2017 to 2019 during Trump\’s first term. After resigning from this position, McMahon went on to chair America First Action, a super PAC supporting Trump\’s 2020 re-election campaign.

    Qualifications and Experience

McMahon\’s background in business and her previous experience in the Trump administration make her a fairly logical choice for a cabinet position:

    • Co-founder and former CEO of WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment)
    • Previous service as Administrator of the Small Business Administration
    • Experience in fundraising and political operations

    Campaign Contributions and Support

McMahon has been a significant financial supporter of Trump\’s political ambitions:

    • 2016: She donated $6 million to Rebuilding America Now, a pro-Trump super PAC
    • 2020: She reportedly raised approximately $83 million for Trump\’s (unsuccessful) 2020 campaign.
    • 2024: McMahon is said to have contributed over $10 million to Trump\’s campaign effort through the America First Action super PAC.

Other Key Appointments in the Trump Administration

As Trump assembles his team for a second term, several other appointments have been announced or are being considered:

    Confirmed Appointments

    • Susie Wiles: Named as White House Chief of Staff, making her the first woman to hold this position
    • Tom Homan: Designated as \”border czar,\” overseeing immigration and border security initiatives
    • Elise Stefanik: Selected as the ambassador to the United Nations

    Potential Cabinet Members

While many positions remain to be filled, some names being discussed include:

    • Bill Hagerty: Under consideration for Secretary of State
    • Marco Rubio: Reportedly being considered for a high-level position, possibly Secretary of State
    • Mike Waltz: Mentioned as a potential candidate for Secretary of Defense

    The Confirmation Process

With Republicans now in control of the Senate, many of Trump\’s cabinet nominees are expected to face a smoother confirmation process compared to his first term. However, some controversial picks may still face scrutiny and potential challenges during hearings.

  • Linda McMahon Joins Trump’s 2024 Transition Team as Co-Chair

Linda McMahon will have a key role in helping Donald Trump prepare for his second term as Untied States President. The former President & CEO of WWE was recently named as one of the co-chairs of Donald Trump\’s presidential transition team, along with Howard Lutnick, CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald.

As co-chair of the transition team, McMahon will help with identifying and vetting potential political appointees, drafting executive orders, formulating strategies to implement Trump\’s policy initiatives and overseeing the policy side of the transition.

Linda McMahon held a significant role in President Trump\’s first administration as a member of his cabinet and head of the Small Business Administration (SBA) during Trump\’s first term.

After stepping down from her role as head of the SBA in April 2019, she became chair the conservative America First Action PAC. McMahon has been a significant financial supporter of Trump\’s campaigns, contributing more than $10 million to help elect him in 2024.

  • McMahon Attorney Responds To Latest Lawsuit Against Ex-WWE CEO

A new lawsuit has been filed against WWE, TKO, and Vince & Linda McMahon, alleging that the McMahons were well aware of the infamous \’Ring Boy Scandal\’ of the early 1990s. The lawsuit has been brought on by five individuals who, according to the suit, feel empowered to come forward in the wake of regime changes in WWE and McMahon\’s exit from the wrestling promotion earlier this year.

In a statement to Brandon Thurston on Fightful Select, Rosenberg said:

“More than 30 years ago, the columnist Phil Mushnick tried to make headlines with these same false claims. Those allegations were never proven and ultimately became the subject of a defamation lawsuit against Mr. Mushnick. The negligence claims against Mr. McMahon that were asserted today rely on these same absurd, defamatory and utterly meritless statements by Mr. Mushnick. We will vigorously defend Mr. McMahon and are confident the court will find that these claims are untrue and unfounded.”

The Ring Boy Scandal came to light in 1992 when allegations against Mel Phillips, Terry Garvin, and Pat Patterson led to their firings from WWE. While Garvin and Phillips were permanently removed, Patterson was later rehired and remained with the company until his death in 2020.

The lawsuit alleges that Phillips exploited and sexually abused underage boys who had been underage boys who had been hired to perform tasks at WWE events. The abuse allegedly occurred in various locations, including wrestling venues and hotel rooms, where Phillips would transport the boys under the pretense of work-related errands. This is an ongoing situation and we aim to provide updates as and when they become publicly available.

  • Lawsuit Alleges WWE & McMahons Knew Of Systemic Ring Boy Sexual Abuse

WWE has a long history of controversies, many of which have received a spotlight this year thanks to Netflix\’s Mr. McMahon docuseries. Now, a new lawsuit has been filed against both Vince and Linda McMahon over the Ring Boy scandal of the early 1990s.

Law firms DiCello Levitt and Murphy, Falcon & Murphy have initiated a lawsuit against World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Vincent K. McMahon, Linda McMahon, and TKO Group Holdings, Inc. The lawsuit is being brought on behalf of five survivors of sexual abuse, identified as John Does 1-5, who allege they were subjected to systemic abuse while working as “Ring Boys” for WWE during their youth.

The lawsuit centers on allegations against WWE’s former ringside announcer and ring crew chief, Melvin Phillips Jr. According to the plaintiffs, Phillips exploited and sexually abused underage boys who had been hired to perform tasks during WWE events. The abuse allegedly occurred in various locations, including wrestling venues and hotel rooms, where Phillips would transport the boys under the pretense of work-related errands. The lawsuit claims that WWE management, including Vince McMahon and Linda McMahon, were aware of this abuse but took no action to stop it.

The survivors, now adults, have only recently become aware of how much WWE executives, including the McMahons, knew of the abuse, the lawsuit states. The filing suggests that recent corporate changes, including the WWE’s acquisition by TKO Group Holdings and Vince McMahon’s departure as CEO, have empowered these survivors to come forward without fear of retaliation. Additionally, changes in sex abuse laws, particularly in Maryland, have paved the way for this legal action.

Greg Gutzler, a partner at DiCello Levitt and lead attorney for the plaintiffs, stated:

“Thanks to the bravery of our clients, we now have a chance to hold accountable those who allowed and enabled the rampant sexual abuse of these young boys. That so many knew about the abuse and did nothing to prevent or stop it is simply unconscionable.”

Mark DiCello, founding partner of DiCello Levitt, emphasized the significance of this case, stating:

“The WWE and McMahon had a responsibility to these underaged boys, and they failed them in the worst way possible. We will vigorously fight to uncover the truth about this systemic, insidious, and life-altering abuse. We commend our clients for their bravery in coming forward and promise to relentlessly seek justice for them.”

Professor Marci Hamilton, founder and CEO of CHILD USA, a nonprofit advocating for children’s rights, praised the survivors for coming forward:

\”These survivors are profiles in courage. One-third of child sex abuse victims never come forward, silenced by shame, humiliation, and trauma.\”

Hamilton stressed on the importance of statute of limitations reform, pointing out that “due to the Maryland window we fought for, these brave survivors can now seek justice.”

DiCello Levitt has a history of representing survivors in high-profile abuse cases, including the civil suit against disgraced fashion mogul Peter Nygard. This is a developing story and we seek to provide updates as and when they are available.

  • Netflix\’s Mr. McMahon Producer Says Linda Was Tight-Lipped In Interviews

Netflix\’s Mr. McMahon docuseries was released last month and has given viewers an in-depth look into Vince McMahon, even if the six-part series is light on new information. In addition to Vince, several members of the McMahon family were interviewed, but Linda was reluctant to share according to the show\’s consulting producer.

Speaking to the SI Media Podcast, David Shoemaker was asked if Vince McMahon was forthcoming with information and shared how Linda was reluctant to speak.

\”You asked about Vince not giving you anything, Linda was not the most forthcoming person in that interview either. I think I was there for that one, I don’t even remember if there was more good stuff on the cutting room floor. I certainly wish we could have gotten more details about that from her. It’s a very business relationship, I would say.”

It\’s hardly a surprise that Linda, who remains a name in politics, was hardly eager to talk about WWE\’s past controversies, many of which occurred under her watch as CEO. Similarly, Linda would be understandably reluctant to speak on her husband\’s infidelity and alleged trafficking of Janel Grant, the topic for Mr. McMahon\’s sixth and final episode.

Linda McMahon hasn\’t appeared for WWE in years but her name remains known to countless wrestling fans around the world. While the former CEO of WWE would have endless stories about the company, fans may never hear about the seedier side of wrestling from the 75-year-old.

  • Linda McMahon Named A Top Donor To Donald Trump

WWE Hall Of Famer Donald Trump is getting some Presidential Campaign help from a familiar face in Linda McMahon.

According to a new article from Forbes that names the top biggest billionaire donors to Trump\’s campaign, Linda McMahon is ranked in second place and the numbers are quite astonishing.

In total, Linda McMahon has shelled over $11.1 million to aid Trump in his rematch for Presidential superiority against Joe Biden. Over the course of Trump\’s first run as Commander-In-Chief, Linda McMahon was apart of Donald\’s cabinet serving as the head of the Small Business Administration. Linda later took the helm to co-chair the primary Trump Super-PAC in his 2020 foray against Biden.

While Donald Trump is aiming to hit the Oval Office once again at the end of 2024, Linda McMahon still remains in the fold by steering the America First Policy Institute, a non-profit that\’s associated with Trump. She also is on the Trump Media and Technology group.

A little under two weeks ago, Trump debated against Biden in what was a very polarizing event, but it did take place at a historic wrestling location in Atlanta.

Along with getting inducted into the 2013 WWE Hall Of Fame, Donald Trump has lengthy ties with the McMahon family. Trump played host to WrestleMania IV in Atlantic City. He was notoriously in the corner for Bobby Lashley during WrestleMania 21 as Lashley defeated Umaga, allowing Trump to shave the head of Vince McMahon. We happened to just surpass the 15th anniversary of when Trump \”bought\” WWE RAW from Vince.

  • Linda McMahon Spotted at Mar a Lago with Former President Trump

Former WWE President and CEO Linda McMahon was in Palm Beach, Florida this week alongside former US President Donald Trump.

Trump, a WWE Hall of Famer is his own right, is gearing up for another run at the White House. Just days ago, he announced his candidacy for 2024.

The Trumps and McMahons go way back, dating back to the 1980\’s. In addition to their collaborations in the world of professional wrestling, McMahon served in Trump\’s Presidential cabinet from 2016-2019 as the head of the Small Business Administration (SBA).

Trump touted the \”incredible job\” McMahon did when she stepped down from her post at the SBA. He said she was a \”superstar\” in that role. He expected a lot from her, but was still surprised at how well she did and how many people she helped.

On Thursday, the 45th President held another event was at Mar a Lago. As seen in the video and photo below, Trump and McMahon were seated next to each other in multiple settings.

McMahon has kept a low profile since leaving public office, but could certainly mount a comeback now that Trump is running for President again. Trump almost certainly will not be selecting former Vice President Mike Pence as his running mate again. Pence remains loyal to Trump, but has publicly flirted with the idea of running against him in the primaries to determine the nominee for the Republican party in \’24.

McMahon would make an interesting choice for a running mate, considering their longstanding history together. She could also serve as an advisor.

  • Scotty 2 Hotty Recalls Having Move Banned by Linda McMahon

Scotty 2 Hotty took a lot of moves throughout his WWE career, but there\’s one that he only took once, thanks to Linda McMahon.

Scotty, real-name Scott Garland, signed with WWE in 1997 and was with the company until resigning as a trainer in 2021.

    The Move

Appearing this week on the Wrestling with Johnners podcast, Scotty was asked about his match with Dean Malenko at the Backlash 2000 Pay Per View.

The match for the Light Heavyweight Championship ended with Malenko countering Scotty\’s attempted Superplex from the top-rope into a Cradle-DDT that spiked Scotty\’s head into the mat.

The finish earned a loud response from fans, but it wasn\’t Scotty\’s idea, as he explained on the podcast (via Wrestling Inc.)

\”It was Dean\’s idea. He told me had done it with (Chris) Jericho; I recently just saw it with Jericho taking it a month ago for the first time and I was like \’oh, that\’s what I was supposed to do.\’

\”I was supposed to jump out further so I would land more on my stomach and I didn\’t jump out. I just kind of spiked myself right into the mat from the top-rope.\”

Scotty went on to say that it was \”very dangerous\” and he could have easily broken his neck.

    Linda McMahon

The move, if done incorrectly, could have resulted in severe neck problems for Scotty, with the match taking place less than a year after Darren Drosdov had been paralysed during a match.

Speaking about the reaction backstage, Scotty recalled being confronted by then-WWE CEO Linda McMahon.

    \”don\’t ever do that again!\”

Linda McMahon\’s words of warning to Scotty 2 Hotty

Scotty told Linda that she didn\’t need to worry about him taking the move again, as he wasn\’t planning on it.
