  • TNA Cancels Title Match Days Before AMC Debut

TNA appears to have cancelled a title match.

The company is set to make its AMC debut this week with the January 15 episode of Thursday Night iMPACT from the Curtis Curwell Center in Garland, Texas.

They had booked multiple big title matches for this show, including one between the X-Division Champion Leon Slater and Myron Reed.

In the updated lineup shared on social media on Tuesday, however, the company did not include this bout, suggesting that it has been pulled from the card:

Reports suggest that the challenger Reed, along with his other Rascalz partners, Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz, and Trey Miguel, became free agents recently after their contract expired.

TNA has re-signed names such as Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali recently. It appears that the officials were confident about a similar deal with Myron, but things did not go as they hoped.

Though the company still has a strong line up for the upcoming episode, which includes the return of a big TNA original. You can check out more about it here.

  • TNA Champion Set To Challenge Oba Femi At New Year’s Evil

Oba Femi has a new challenger.

This week’s episode of NXT featured a Fatal 4-Way main event to determine the challenger for the NXT title at the upcoming New Year’s Evil special on January 6.

The match saw Joe Hendry, Myles Borne, Dion Lennox and the reigning TNA X-Division champion Leon Slater battling for a shot at the top belt of WWE’s development brand.

Joe Hendry looked to have the match won after he threw Slater on Lennox outside the ring and then delivered the Standing Ovation on Borne.

As the former TNA World Champion went for the pin, however, Lennox pulled him out of the ring. The two then started brawling at the ringside, allowing Leon to take advantage.

The X-Division champion delivered a big 450 splash on Myles Borne to win the match. Oba Femi showed up at the stage after the bout and stared down the new #1 contender to end the show.

This is the second match confirmed for the upcoming event. The winner of the 2025 Women’s Iron Survivor match Kendal Grey, is set to challenge Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s title in the other confirmed bout of the special.

Femi is in his second reign as the NXT champion after winning the belt back from Ricky Saints at Deadline earlier this month. The ruler is likely to make the main roster move soon after his recent match with Cody Rhodes but we’ll have to see how he handles his business in the meantime.
