LA Knight Opens Up About Being Underappreciated In WWE

    LA Knight feels underappreciated.

The WWE star recently spoke to Chris Van Vliet for a new interview. He talked about things such as his continued popularity with the audience, not having a direction right now, his famous meme with Roman Reigns, and more.

During the talk, the 43-year-old was asked if he has given any thought to how long he wants to continue wrestling. LA Knight first mentioned that he feels good physically and he can continue competing for a long time, but claimed that he is still ‘looking at the clock all the time.’ When asked if this means he will still be wrestling in his fifties, the former US Champion confirmed that he will at least be done with full-time wrestling by that point:

“No! f*ck no. Would I like to be able to come in and maybe do an occasional appearance? Yeah, sure, maybe. But I don’t think I’ve been built up to the point where I can do like an Undertaker-type thing or an Austin thing or something like that. So I don’t think that’s in my future either. So it’s pretty much gonna be at some point when I decide to call it I’m gonna disappear in the sunset, and you’ll just never see me again.”

No Matter Where I’ve Gone: LA Knight

LA Knight explained that once he retires, he will only resurface on rare occasions. He doubted that he will be seen a lot, however, as the wrestling veteran feels he is very underappreciated in the business. He doesn’t even know if his WWE career will be considered Hall of Fame worthy by the company:

“I’m not even joking; I’m being dead ass serious. If they decide at some point, they get crazy enough to go, we’re gonna put him in the Hall of Fame, sure, I’ll come back do that. But I got a feeling that probably ain’t gonna happen either. But maybe that’s my own feeling of just like never being… No matter where I’ve gone, I’ve always felt underappreciated in the wrestling business, but I don’t know.”

Elsewhere in the interview, LA Knight talked about sharing a moment with Brock Lesnar during the Royal Rumble this year and suggested that the whole thing did not go exactly as planned. You can check out his remarks on the matter here.

Things don’t always go as planned with LA Knight.

The former US Champion recently had an interview with Chris Van Vliet. He talked about things such as his viral fight with AJ Styles, how long he plans to continue wrestling, and more.

During the talk, the WWE star was also asked about his Royal Rumble moment with Brock Lesnar earlier in the year. LA Knight gave a cryptic answer to the question, suggesting that things didn’t exactly go as planned there:

“I did. I’ll tell that story someday, but it feels too new and fresh to me. But I’ll just say things went differently than they were supposed to. “

The Beast Incarnate entered the battle royal at #22 and spent about 5 minutes in the bout. He was exchanging blows with Cody Rhodes when LA Knight joined the attack. The two then worked together to eliminate the former UFC Champion.

The former NXT star did not go into details on what change he is talking about. Though there were reports that Knight was originally supposed to be working Lesnar at WrestleMania 42. So it’s possible that his story has something to do with the bout being cancelled.

  • Backstage Update On LA Knight’s WWE Absence

Backstage Update On LA Knight’s WWE Absence

LA Knight’s absence from WWE television is not the result of any serious backstage issue, according to Fightful Select, with people within WWE describing the situation as a “non-story.”

Knight had appeared to be moving toward a program with Gunther before WrestleMania, but plans shifted when Gunther moved to SmackDown and began targeting Cody Rhodes instead. Fightful reports that Knight’s absence is not connected to an injury, contract dispute, recent WWE releases, or any pay-related issue.

The report noted that WWE creative changed rapidly for several wrestlers coming out of WrestleMania, with multiple directions adjusted internally in a short period of time. Fightful added that they are continuing to gather more information on which talents specifically had plans changed following WrestleMania and what shifted behind the scenes.

No return timeline for Knight has been indicated. He remains one of WWE’s most popular performers despite the absence, something many fans pointed out in the replies to the report.

LA Knight WWE Status Update After Creative Plans Scrapped

Former WWE United States Champion LA Knight remains part of the WWE roster despite his absence from the May 4 episode of Raw in Omaha.

As per reports from Bodyslam+, his absence is linked to storyline changes rather than injury, backstage issues, or a release.

    Original Gunther Program Shelved

Knight’s original post-WrestleMania plans reportedly included a short program with Gunther. However, those plans were scrapped when WWE pivoted to having ‘The Ring General’ challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship on SmackDown.

Knight teamed with The Usos to defeat The Vision and IShowSpeed at WrestleMania 42, a win that appeared to set up future storylines.

Knight had a backstage confrontation with Gunther following WrestleMania. ‘The Megastar’ congratulated Gunther on his victory over Seth Rollins but reminded him that he needed three men to get the job done, which Knight considered a loss.

Gunther’s new direction became clear on the May 1 episode of SmackDown. He attacked Rhodes after a match and stood tall with the championship, signaling his shift to the blue brand.

    What’s Next for LA Knight

WWE has not announced Knight’s next program. One possibility involves a feud with The Usos, given his history with Roman Reigns and The Bloodline. Knight had tense exchanges with The Usos before WrestleMania, particularly with Jey Uso, despite teaming with them at the Premium Live Event.

Knight’s absence from television appears to be temporary while WWE finalizes his next creative direction. Fans concerned about his status can rest assured that he remains under contract and on the active roster.

  • LA Knight Addresses Rumored Backstage Heat In WWE

LA Knight Addresses Rumored Backstage Heat In WWE

LA Knight denies rumors of heat.

Fans have been speculating about the former US Champion’s status in the company in recent times, stemming from a couple of incidents on WWE programming. The first one was when Knight held up a sign reading ‘we want LA Knight, not Jey Uso’ during the latter’s singles run.

Another incident that drew people’s attention was when the former NXT star was called in to do a promo on John Cena during a Raw commercial break. The promo was cut short, however, leaving the WWE star visibly frustrated.

    LA Knight Explains WWE Incidents

The 43-year-old addressed these talks during a recent interview with Shak Wrestling. He was first asked about the fan sign incident and if he got any backstage heat because of it. LA Knight claimed nobody ever said anything about it after he got to the back but he did find some humor in all the discourse online:

“No, nothing whatsoever. If there was, I surely was not aware of it. Nobody said a word or anything. I literally just saw something about, ‘We want LA Knight.’ I have found it humorous to see everybody speculating though.”

Explaining the incident about the John Cena promo, Knight revealed that it was a simple case of miscommunication. According to the former champion, he was told that they had a little wiggle room before the show went back on, but that didn’t turn out to be the case:

“It was a communication thing. There’s a set amount of time for those little scenarios. I was told that…literary the word that I heard was ‘We have a little wiggle room.’ I saw the time was counting down, but I said, ‘We have wiggle room.’

So I’m thinking an extra 5 or 10 seconds, no problem. Apparently, ‘wiggle room’ was not wiggle room. I was a little hot about it at first but I’m like well somebody just obviously communicated wrong to me”

LA Knight will be part of the opening match of WrestleMania 42 Night 1. He will be teaming with The Usos to take on The Vision and IShowSpeed.

  • Six-Man Tag Match Official for WrestleMania 42 After RAW

Six-Man Tag Match Official for WrestleMania 42 After RAW

It’s official. WWE General Manager Adam Pearce booked the six-man tag team match for WrestleMania 42 during tonight’s Raw from the Toyota Center in Houston.

IShowSpeed, Logan Paul, and Austin Theory will face The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) and LA Knight at the two-night event on April 18-19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

The announcement came after Speed appeared on tonight’s show and once again inserted himself into the feud between The Vision and Knight. Speed assisted Theory during his singles match against Knight, making his alignment with The Vision unmistakable after weeks of claiming the brass knuckles incident was an accident.

    From Rumor to Reality

The match had been rumored since last week after Dave Meltzer reported it was listed on internal WWE documents. The build began on the March 30 RAW at Madison Square Garden, when Speed accidentally struck Knight with brass knuckles during a World Tag Team Championship Street Fight.

That interference helped Logan Paul and Austin Theory defeat The Usos to capture the World Tag Team titles. Knight retaliated by crashing Speed’s livestream and attacking him, leaving the YouTuber with visible injuries he showed off on a subsequent stream.

    Can IShowSpeed Handle the Ring?

Speed’s only prior in-ring experience came during the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble, where he replaced an injured Akira Tozawa and was memorably speared by Bron Breakker. He also completed a training session at the WWE Performance Center with Randy Orton for his YouTube series, where he developed a moonsault finisher called “The Speed Drop.”

The World Tag Team Championships are expected to be on the line in the six-man tag, though WWE has not confirmed that stipulation. WrestleMania 42 airs live from Allegiant Stadium on April 18-19.

  • The Usos, LA Knight, IShowSpeed Rumored For WrestleMania 42 Match

The Usos, LA Knight, IShowSpeed Rumored For WrestleMania 42 Match

The Usos and LA Knight are reportedly scheduled for a six-man tag team match at WrestleMania 42. The match would pit the trio against The Vision (Logan Paul and Austin Theory) and YouTube star IShowSpeed.

Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Live that the match is currently listed on internal planning documents.

“Right now, a match with Paul & Austin Theory & IShowSpeed vs The Usos & LA Knight is scheduled for the show,” Meltzer stated.

The report includes a contingency plan if IShowSpeed isn’t cleared to compete.

“If Speed isn’t ready, they could do a tag match with Knight and Speed in the corners, but right now, it’s the trios match that is on the match listing,” Meltzer explained.

    IShowSpeed’s WWE Involvement

IShowSpeed has been involved in recent WWE programming, appearing on RAW in segments with The Vision. The YouTube personality even punched LA Knight with brass knuckles during the latest episode of Raw, setting up potential storyline justification for the WrestleMania match.

No official announcement has been made by WWE regarding the match.

El Grande Match Moved to AAA

Meltzer also addressed the status of a previously rumored mask vs. mask match. The bout between El Grande Americano and Original El Grande Americano will not take place at WrestleMania 42.

“The El Grande vs. El Grande match is going to happen for AAA. They’ve got a date booked for that match, so they’re not doing a mask vs. mask match between those two guys at WrestleMania, they’re saving that for AAA,” Meltzer reported.

WrestleMania 42 takes place on April 18-19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

  • LA Knights Says He Knows As Much As Fans About His WrestleMania Plans

LA Knight doesn\’t know his WrestleMania plans.

The WWE star recently spoke to The Coach\’s Corner for a new interview. He discussed things such as how he got his start in wrestling, driving an ambulance for the segment on this Monday\’s Raw and more.

The former US Champion was also asked what he can tell fans about his WrestleMania plans without going into too much detail. LA Knight responded by saying he doesn\’t have to worry about giving away any details because he doesn\’t know them himself:

“Don’t worry about the details because I don’t have any. I know about as much as you know. And people find that hard to believe, but in all honesty, that’s just wrestling.\”

I\’d Like To Know More: LA Knight

Though LA Knight later noted that not knowing too much about plans is not unusual in wrestling, and gave example of his early career:

\”You know, when I came up in wrestling, I’d say most of the times I was going to a show, I’d never even met my opponent before. So I’m meeting him 2-3 hours before showtime, before we’re learning anything.

So with that being the case, I don’t know a lot. I’d like to know more, but all I know is, it’s going to be, of course, as it always is, it’s going to be a gigantic week.\”

Knight has been feuding with The Vision over the last few months and he was pinned by Logan Paul at Elimination Chamber. So it\’s possible that we\’ll see the two in a match at the Show of Shows if Bron Breakker returns to face Seth Rollins at the PPV.

  • Unlikely Name Defends LA Knight Over Elimination Chamber Botch

Logan Paul has come to the defence of LA Knight.

The Elimination Chamber PPV did not go as planned for the former Million Dollar champion. Not only did he fail to win the cage match but his botched top rope dive during the main event became one of the biggest points of discussion among the fans coming out of the show.

The YouTube star, who eliminated Knight from the match, talked about the whole thing on the latest episode of his podcast. Logan Paul noted that he is not a fan of the 43-year-old but explained that the slip was not his fault:

“What I’m about to say is the last thing I want to do. I don’t want to do this, bro. Because I despise LA Knight and everything he stands for. Because let’s be honest, he doesn’t stand for anything. He stands for one affirmative word. Yeah, we get it, bro. Shut up. I don’t want to say this, bro, but that particular botch that LA Knight had is not his fault.\”

You Have No Idea: Logan Paul

LA Knight was not the only one who found it hard to deal with the slippery ropes as Finn Balor had a similar accident during his match with CM Punk earlier in the night. Logan Paul explained that being in the main event meant that the ring had been exposed to a lot of action before them:

\”And I was in the ring. I was watching it go down live, and I can feel the ropes before I do the jumps. They are so slippery and oily. You have no idea. Especially when you’re the last match of the night because it’s been used, right? And all these oily, sweaty wrestlers are just greasing these ropes up. So by the time it’s 10:00 p.m. at night and you’re the last group to go, the ropes are soaking wet.\”

Logan Paul got 3 eliminations in the chamber match and he looked to be a favorite to win the bout. This was until Seth Rollins made a surprise appearance and took out the Vision star. You can check out what the company is planning for The Architect for WrestleMania here.

  • DDP Discusses LA Knight\’s Rise Being Compared To His Own

DDP has revealed his thoughts on LA Knight.

The wrestling veteran recently spoke to Chris Van Vliet for a new interview. They discussed things such as Lex Luger\’s Hall of Fame induction, Bron Breakker potentially becoming a world champion in 2026 and more.

When asked about the comparison between LA Knight\’s recent rise in wrestling to his own career, DDP said that he loves the current WWE star\’s tenacity:

“It took him a long time to get to that character. And he was good before that, but now he’s great. Hopefully at some point he gets a chance to really get that ball, because he can run with it, give him that damn ball, because that cat, he’s got it all.\”

He\’s A Piece of All That: DDP

DDP first made his in-ring debut in 1979 but quit wrestling after only three matches because of a knee injury. He continued being part of the wrestling world but did not enter the ring himself again until 1989. He slowly became a popular figure after joining WCW in 1991, but Page did not win his first world title until 1999, when he was 43.

LA Knight has had a somewhat similar trajectory, with him becoming popular with WWE fans in the past couple of years, despite having made his wrestling debut over 2 decades ago. Though the former WCW Champion himself does not see the current WWE star as the second DDP, and he believes Knight is inspired by every wrestler before him:

\”And people who say that he’s mimicking this character, that character, that’s so wrong. He’s a piece of all that. He grew up on all of us coming up wanting to do what we do, and now he’s doing it at its highest level. So I saw that article actually sent it to him, because it was really cool the way they [did it]. I thought it was just going to be a little blurb, but just comparing our careers.”

Fans had expressed concern about LA Knight\’s future in WWE after a recent segment with the Vision. You can check out what people within the company thought about it here.

  • WWE Announces LA Knight Injury: Out Indefinitely

WWE has confirmed that LA Knight suffered multiple injuries, most notably a cracked sternum, following a vicious attack by The Vision on the December 8 episode of Monday Night Raw.
The assault began after Knight lost to Logan Paul due to interference from a masked attacker.

Following the match, Paul, Bronson Reed, and Bron Breakker continued their assault on “The Megastar” backstage. The attack culminated in the parking lot, where Reed put Knight through a table before delivering his devastating Tsunami splash onto Knight, who was lying on the hood of a car.

Knight was stretchered out and transported to a local hospital. WWE has announced that the 43-year-old former United States Champion will be out of action indefinitely as he recovers from the injuries sustained during the attack.

The brutal beatdown serves as the latest show of dominance from The Vision faction, which has been terrorizing Monday Night Raw in recent weeks.

Knight re-signed with WWE in 2024 and has years remaining on his contract, ensuring fans will see “The Megastar” back in action when he’s medically cleared to compete.

  • Latest On LA Knight\’s WWE Future After Raw Angle

LA Knight is not leaving WWE.

Fans of the 43-year-old became concerned about his status with the company after he picked up back-to-back losses on TV recently. He was first defeated by Gunther in the finals of the Last Time is Now tournament, and then Logan Paul pinned the former US Champion in a singles match.

A beatdown at the hands of the Vision followed the match with Logan on Raw this Monday. The segment ended with Bronson Reed delivering a Tsunami to Knight on top of a car, leading to angry fans rallying on social media.

    LA Knight Update After Raw

Fightful Select recently provided an update on this booking, saying that people within the promotion were actually confused with this outrage. They claimed that the whole things was a standard story beat that will be revisited later.

The site also put a stop to rumors of LA Knight potentially being on his way out of the company. They noted that the former NXT star signed a new deal with the promotion in 2024 and he has many years left on his contract.

Though they couldn\’t provide an update on the immediate plans for the former TNA star. So it\’s possible that Knight could be kept off TV for some time to sell the attack on Raw before he returns.

  • Mystery Man Makes Second Raw Appearance, Gets Involved In Main Event

The mystery man is all over Raw.

The hooded figure who helped The Vision and team win the WarGames last month showed up again on Raw this week. He first helped Logan Paul get out of a beating at the hands of Rey Mysterio, as he delivered a superkick and stomp to the WWE Hall of Famer.

This wasn\’t his only appearance on the night, however, as the mystery man showed up again during the Logan Paul vs. LA Knight match later in the show.

This came after both Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker had been told to leave the ringside by the referee after their blatant interference in the bout.

    The Mystery Man Returns

As the ref was still dealing with the two, the masked man delivered a stomp to Knight on the announce desk before quickly retreating, allowing Paul to get the win.

The Vision delivered a post-match attack on the former Max Dupri before the security helped him to the back. Paul Heyman and Bron Breakker then got on the mic and cut a promo about Breakker\’s upcoming World title match against CM Punk on January 5.

They got distracted when LA Knight was shown backstage, still fighting to get up. Breakker and Bronson Reed went after him, this time finishing their opponent off with a big Tsunami on top of a rental car, to end the show.

  • LA Knight Claims ‘Somebody’ Is Trying To Stop His Progress In WWE

LA Knight seems to be picking up a storyline left unfinished by AJ Styles.

The 43-year-old squared off against The Miz in the Last Time is Now tournament on SmackDown this week. The A-Lister replaced an injured Sheamus in the match, and it was the second time Knight had to get in the ring with a mystery opponent after he beat Zack Ryder in the first round of the tournament.

Before this match, the former US Champion was interviewed backstage by Cathy Kelley. LA Knight went off about how it was unfair to him and how somebody behind-the-scene does not want him to get the success he\’s destined to achieve:

“You just gotta understand the frustration, right? Every time I start to get a little something going, somebody wants to try and cut my legs out. Somebody wants to stack the deck against me. Somebody basically wants to make sure that I can’t make the rise that I’m destined to make.”

    The Mysterious Somebody

This promo is very similar to one AJ Styles cut during a Raw commercial break back in September. The Phenomenal One had claimed that somebody was conspiring to make sure that he did not get any wins anymore.

Styles had later given a cryptic explanation of this promo, saying that it was for a nixed storyline but with some truth in it. In real-life, Baron Corbin has also claimed that one specific person was the reason behind his WWE release.

LA Knight defeated The Miz to advance to the semi-finals of the Last Time is Now tournament, and he will now face Jey Uso in the next round. We\’ll have to see if Knight continues this storyline as he progresses in the tournament or if the whole thing is dropped once again.
