Kit Wilson Releases Statement On Missing SmackDown

Kit Wilson has explained his absence.

The former Pretty Deadly member was notably missing from this week’s episode of SmackDown that came live from Olimpic Arena in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The Miz was seen complaining about his absence on the show to Nick Aldis, claiming that his partner got detained in customs because of too much moisturizer and a liquid limit.

The A-Lister said that he could not continue with his match against Axiom without Wilson. Though the SmackDown General Manager was having none of it, and he refused to postpone the bout.

    Kit Wilson Statement

The 31-year-old released a statement on X later in the day, apologizing to fans in Barcelona for missing the show. He explained that multiple travel complications led to him missing an event for the first time in his career:

“Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make it back to Europe due to multiple travel complications and issues at the airport. I’m absolutely gutted. This is the first time I’ve ever missed a show. At this point, it honestly feels like I’m cursed and everything is falling apart. I’d also like to apologise to my mentor, The Miz, for letting him down, it won’t happen again.”

As expected, things did not go The Miz’s way in the absence of his partner. Axiom, who hails from Spain himself ended up winning the bout by pinning the former World Champion with a Golden Ratio.

WWE will continue the European tour until June 8 and return to America for the June 12 episode of SmackDown. Wilson should be back on TV by then if he is unable to join the rest of the WWE crew before that.

Jelly Roll Announced For SmackDown Match Next Week

Jelly Roll is getting a match.

The rap star got involved in a storyline with Kit Wilson while making an appearance on The Miz TV on last week’s SmackDown. Roll ended up hitting the A-Lister while trying to take out Wilson for some harsh words.

The Pretty Deadly star called out Jelly Roll for a fight on this week’s episode of the Blue Branded Show, but he then proposed a Slam Poetry contest when the Grammy-nominated artist did show up.

After some jokes about Jelly Roll’s dick and Kit Wilson’s mom, the segment ended with the former NXT star attacking JR and laying him out with an elbow drop.

Unhappy with how things turned out, Jelly found Nick Aldis backstage later on, and demanded a match with Wilson. The SmackDown General Manager obliged and made the match official for next week’s episode of the show from Pittsburgh.

Jelly Roll made his wrestling debut at SummerSlam 2025 when he teamed up with Randy Orton to take on Drew McIntyre & Logan Paul.

The Miz was seen chatting Wilson backstage before tonight’s developments, and it’s likely that the former World Champion will get involved in the match next week.

The music star would need a tag team partner if this set up leads to another tag match at WrestleMania. You can let us know your prediction on his partner in the comments below.

  • Kit Wilson Details Origin of Viral Theme Song

Kit Wilson had a lot of input in his theme song.

The WWE star recently spoke to Chris Van Vliet for a new interview. He discussed things such as the formation of Pretty Deadly, their start in the company, his partner\’s neck injury and more.

When asked about his new theme becoming popular among fans, Wilson noted that they wanted the song to be catchy so that it would click with people:

“Yeah, it’s super catchy. That was what I was going for. That was what I was hoping for. I didn’t think I realized how catchy it was going to be, and how much it’s kind of clicked on and sat with people, but I’m not complaining.”

Having been added to Spotify only last month, the tune called Man Up has already received over half a million hits. When asked how much input he had in the creation of it, Kit Wilson revealed that it was actually he who pushed for the new music once he found out that he would be entering singles\’ competition due to Elton Prince\’s injury. Once it was approved, he started discussing the tune with Def Rebel and gave them several ideas:

“So I ended up having a fair amount of input. I was pushing for new music when I kind of found out what the situation was going to be and maybe I was going to go solo, I started messaging a lot, saying I would love new music. Can I get new music? Then eventually I got into contact with Neil, I believe, and then he called me. We had little discussion on the phone. He said, ‘What kind of thing are you looking for?’ So I said, ‘Can I send you an email?’ Got off the phone, and I started writing this email, just with all my references, with all the songs I like, with all the ideas I had.\”

Wilson also noted that he had wrestled a number of matches on Main Event in the second half of 2025. This allowed him to continue tuning in his presentation, including not only his theme but his entrance graphics as well before he started using it on SmackDown.
