JD McDonagh Pokes Fun At Liv Morgan’s Head Injury

JD McDonagh recently drew attention with a controversial social media post mocking Liv Morgan’s head injury following the April 6 episode of Raw.

The injury occurred during a backstage segment when Stephanie Vaquer blindsided Morgan and Roxanne Perez, forcing them into a brutal head collision. The impact left both women placed in concussion protocol just days before WrestleMania 42.

Morgan shared photos of the damage on social media, revealing a large hematoma on her forehead. The bump was so prominent it drew immediate concern from fans. Roxanne Perez also shared an update on her injury.

    JD McDonagh’s Instagram Story

McDonagh dropped an edited image on Instagram featuring Morgan’s selfie with his own laughing face superimposed directly onto the swollen area on her forehead. The visual turned a serious injury into what resembled a comedy sketch, complete with an over-the-top grin.

The post quickly caught attention, highlighting Judgment Day’s tendency to blur the line between chaos and humor. It reflected how the group often handles adversity with punchlines rather than sympathy.

Liv Morgan is set to challenge Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 42 Night 1.

  • Dominik Mysterio: “Finn Bálor had his time. Past tense.”

Dominik Mysterio: “Finn Bálor had his time. Past tense.”

Dominik Mysterio has spoken candidly about his ascension to the top of The Judgment Day, the ousting of Finn Bálor, and why he thinks JD McDonagh is better off without his former best friend.

In an interview on The Collection with Brad Gilmore at Reality of Wrestling in Houston, Dom addressed the faction’s March 9 attack on Bálor and his own position atop wrestling’s most dominant stable.

“It had to be done,” Mysterio said plainly. “There were a lot of differences going on. We weren’t being a cohesive unit. At the end of the day, we played the Finn Bálor playbook and that’s what happened. He should have seen it coming.”

    The shadow of Finn Balor

Dom was particularly effusive about JD McDonagh being the one to pull the trigger on the betrayal, calling it a long time coming for the Irishman who spent years operating in Bálor’s shadow.

“I’m so happy for JD for finally being able to leave Finn’s shadow — he’s been in it for too long,” Mysterio said. “Finn Bálor had his time. Past tense.”

He also offered a pointed summary of Bálor’s place in Judgment Day history:

“We’re in the future now, and the future is about Dom. It’s about JD. It’s about Liv. It’s about Raquel… and Roxanne Perez, of course.”

Original Plans for Dominik Mysterio vs. Finn Balor

Finn Bálor vs. Dominik Mysterio was reportedly scheduled for SummerSlam last year, but WWE opted to hold off on that matchup, feeling the Judgment Day storyline was still running hot and the change should come at a later date.

At the time, the plan had Bálor bringing back the Demon gimmick for the event, according to the Wrestling Observer.

Dom initially reluctant to Judgment Day

In a candid moment during the interview with Brad Gilmore, Mysterio admitted he wasn’t a true believer when Judgment Day first recruited him.

“No, not at all. I fought it for a long time. It felt weird and hokey at the very beginning,” he said. “But then something happened where all four of us clicked outside of the ring. We were all riding together, so it all transitioned to inside the ring. And man, it just worked.”

Dom pointed to the faction’s uninterrupted run of championship success as proof of concept, noting that Judgment Day has held at least one title throughout its entire existence as a group. The faction is showing no signs of slowing down even as it enters a new chapter without another founding member.

  • JD McDonagh Blames Finn Balor For Judgment Day Attack: \’You Lied To Us\’

The Judgment Day finally turned on Finn Balor during the March 9th edition of WWE Raw. Fellow Irishman JD McDonagh betrayed Balor and aligned himself with Dominik Mysterio, Liv Morgan, and Raquel Rodriguez in a four-on-one assault.

The major angle played out on WWE Raw, with McDonagh initially appearing to try to cool tensions between Balor and Dominik Mysterio. However, when Balor attacked Mysterio, McDonagh dropped him with a clothesline, cementing his allegiance to the rest of Judgment Day.

    JD McDonagh\’s Explanation

Following the attack, McDonagh took to X and blamed Balor’s ego for the tensions within the group, choosing his \”family\” in Judgment Day over his friend Balor.

“You lied to all of us for months. You got an ego. You wanted to be the leader. You played games,” McDonagh wrote. “That’s never been what the Judgment Day has been about. You used to know that. Judgment Day is my family and if anybody dares to try to step on any of them, you get stomped out.”

During the attack, Dominik Mysterio used the timekeeper’s hammer to deliver a 619 on his former friend and then hit a frog splash on a chair. The attack concluded with The Judgment Day members standing tall over Balor.

While it has not been announced yet, this angle could set up a match between Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania 42, which takes place April 18-19.

  • JD McDonagh Undergoes Wrist Surgery

WWE Raw Superstar JD McDonagh announced on Monday that he is undergoing surgery for a wrist injury that has plagued him for months.

The Judgment Day member shared the news via his Instagram Stories, posting a photo from his hospital bed while giving a thumbs-up to fans ahead of the procedure.

\”Been working thru some stuff for the last few months, but now is the time to pump the brakes and get put back together,\” McDonagh wrote. \”Won\’t be long, BRB.\”

What\’s Next for JD After Surgery

The surgery marks McDonagh\’s second significant medical procedure of 2025. In January, the Irish star suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung during a World Tag Team Championship match against The War Raiders when a moonsault attempt went wrong. He missed three months before returning on the Raw after WrestleMania 41.

Since his return, McDonagh has remained active in Judgment Day storylines and recaptured the World Tag Team Championship with Finn Bálor in June before losing the titles to AJ Styles and Dragon Lee in October.

McDonagh\’s absence could create further tension within The Judgment Day, where he often serves as peacemaker between Bálor and Dominik Mysterio.

No official timeline for his return has been announced.
