Jade Cargill Warns WWE Faction, Rejects Rhea Ripley’s ‘Mommy’ Catchphrase

Jade Cargill is laying down the law, both to her opponents and her allies. During a fiery appearance on ESPN’s First Take to promote her Women’s World Championship match at WWE Clash in Italy, Cargill revealed that her WrestleMania loss wasn’t entirely her own fault, pointing a direct finger at her faction’s failure to intervene.

“I had a good talking to them afterwards. I was like, listen, if you are going to stand next to me—cuz to stand next to me is a blessing. My presence is a blessing,” Cargill stated. “So, don’t just come up here and think that you’re just taking a cakewalk standing next to me. You need to work for it.”

    The Boss Speaks

Cargill detailed her strict expectations for the group, making it clear that hesitation will no longer be tolerated at ringside. “When I tell you to jump, you jump as high as I want you to go and they didn’t do that,” she told the ESPN panel. When asked by Stephen A. Smith if anyone had been fired from her ranks, she offered a cold response: “I didn’t fire anybody yet, but they gonna have to bring the heat this time.”

With her locker room issues seemingly handled, Cargill turned her sharp words toward the reigning champion, Rhea Ripley. Known for her undeniable charisma and commanding presence, Cargill made it clear she is thoroughly unimpressed by Ripley’s popular branding.

“Since everybody keep running with the same schtick, ‘mommy’s on top, mommy’s on top’—I mean, that’s so old. It’s so played out. It’s been going for about two years,” Cargill declared. “I think the headline should say Jade Cargill is back on top. They keep saying mommy’s on top. I guess I’m daddy.”

Embracing the polarization she causes among WWE fans, Cargill welcomed the noise heading into Sunday. Borrowing a line from her First Take hosts, she confidently signed off: “The haters keep you paid. We love the critics. Please, we welcome you.”

  • WrestleMania Rematch Made Official For Clash In Italy

WrestleMania Rematch Made Official For Clash In Italy

Another big match for Clash In Italy.

Last week’s episode of SmackDown saw Jade Cargill cutting a promo on Rhea Ripley, challenging the Mami for a rematch. The Women’s Champion responded to the challenge with a promo of her own this Friday, accepting the bout.

Ripley and Cargill last faced off on Night 2 of WrestleMania 42. Rhea won the Elimination Chamber to earn a shot at Jade’s title, and she was able to defeat the former AEW star with some help from IYO SKY.

The two women will be sharing the ring tomorrow night as well when Rhea Ripley teams with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss to take on Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

  • Jade Cargill’s WWE SmackDown Absence Explained

Jade Cargill’s WWE SmackDown Absence Explained

Jade Cargill’s absence from SmackDown on April 24 has been explained, and it had nothing to do with WWE booking or her uncertain title situation.

Cargill was in Cincinnati attending her husband, Brandon Phillips’, induction into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame, a significant personal milestone for the longtime Reds standout. The couple has been together since 2015, and Cargill was present to support Phillips for the occasion.

The explanation clears up what had become a talking point given the timing of her absence. Cargill lost the WWE Women’s Championship to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 42 and has since spoken openly about not knowing what comes next for her in the company.

The combination of a title loss, uncertain creative direction, and a missed SmackDown had understandably raised questions. The reality is that her absence was a straightforward personal commitment, not an indication of a change in her standing with the company.

Cargill held the WWE Women’s Championship through WrestleMania 42 before Ripley ended her reign on Night Two at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

  • Jade Cargill Shares One Regret About Women’s Title Run

Jade Cargill Shares One Regret About Women’s Title Run

Jade Cargill wanted to do more.

The former AEW star dropped the WWE Women’s Title to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 42, ending her reign at 169 days. Since winning the title from Tiffany Stratton in November last year, she only defended the championship successfully once on TV, and had a total of 8 televised matches, including the encounter with The Mami.

The now former champion reflected on her reign during a recent interview with Sports Illustrated. Jade Cargill revealed the one regret about her run at the top, stating that she wanted to be part of more matches to be able to showcase her skills better:

“I wanted to wrestle more. I wanted more competitive matches. I wanted more grit. I really wanted to sink my teeth into whatever was being thrown at me.

That’s all I wanted with my reign, but we didn’t get that as much as I wanted, and that’s fine. But now that I had a practice run, I’m gonna call it a practice run, I’m gonna say next time is gonna be totally different.”

Jade Cargill also talked about her match with Rhea Ripley, comparing it to her encounter with Naomi at the Show of Shows last year. She claimed that her superb match with Naomi did not get as much attention because it was not a title match.

Cargill then explained her role in making the match with Ripley good, saying that Rhea can’t go out there and have a stellar match is she doesn’t put on a show as well.

  • Jade Cargill Wants Rematch After WrestleMania Title Loss

Jade Cargill Wants Rematch After WrestleMania Title Loss

Jade Cargill has her eyes on a rematch.

The former WWE Women’s Champion spoke with JC Fernandez of 8 News Now at Netflix’s Bodyslams, Beats & Brunch event, held Monday at LIV Beachclub at Fontainebleau Las Vegas ahead of Raw. Cargill did not try to spin the loss, telling Fernandez she plans to push for another shot at Rhea Ripley immediately.

“It’s okay, because I’m going to get my revenge and get that rematch,” Cargill said. “I think you need to call up Triple H and make that happen.”

Ripley defeated Cargill on Night 2 of WrestleMania 42 at Allegiant Stadium, ending Cargill’s reign with the WWE Women’s Championship that dated back to November 2025. Ripley hit the Riptide for the pinfall after IYO SKY neutralized interference from Cargill’s allies Michin and B-Fab.

Jade Cargill Reflects on First WrestleMania Night 2 Appearance

The loss marked Cargill’s first WrestleMania appearance on Night 2. She said the Allegiant Stadium atmosphere was unlike anything she’d experienced, even with the crowd firmly against her.

“I’ve never been featured on Night Two. I’ve always been on Night One, so this is my first rodeo on Night Two. I think we did a stellar job. The energy at Allegiant Stadium was electric,” Cargill said. “The crowd was coming for me. They hated me. I love that for me. Keep hating me.”

She closed with a direct acknowledgment of the result.

“Okay, I didn’t deliver, but I’m going to get that rematch.”

  • Identity of Mystery Commentator During Rhea Ripley vs. Jade Cargill Match

Identity of Mystery Commentator During Rhea Ripley vs. Jade Cargill Match

    An unexpected guest at WrestleMania.

Night two of WrestleMania 42 featured only one women’s match, a title fight between Jade Cargill and Rhea Ripley. Before the bout began, the cameras panned to the commentary desk to reveal an unknown third person sitting alongside Michael Cole and Wade Barrett.

Cole introduced him as Adam Weitsman, a Priority Pass VIP guest, but did not provide any further details. Despite wearing a headset, Weitsman also did not speak once during the whole match, leaving fans confused.

    Who is Adam Weitsman?

Adam Weitsman is the CEO of a company called Upstate Shredding which does scrap metal processing. There is apparently a lot of money in scrap metal processing, because Weitsman is recognized as a billionaire.

Though he also has other ventures, including Krebs restaurant, an 1899 establishment he purchased in 2010, and Viridium LLC, a crypto mining company he founded.

He appears to be a big fan of WWE, as Weitsman was also in attendance for Night 1 of WrestleMania 42. He posted a video of iShowSpeed’s big dive in the opening match of the PPV on his socials:

Both Michin and B-Fab got involved in the Women’s Championship match, leaving Ripley at a disadvantage. This was until IYO SKY made an appearance to save her tag team partner from defeat. After SKY took out Jade’s associates, Rhea hit Riptide on Cargill for the victory.

  • Rhea Ripley Defeats Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 42 to Win Women’s Title

Rhea Ripley Defeats Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 42 to Win Women’s Title

Rhea Ripley is the new WWE Women’s Champion. The Eradicator defeated Jade Cargill on Night 2 of WrestleMania 42 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, hitting the Riptide for the pinfall to end Cargill’s reign that had stretched past 165 days.

The finish came after Cargill’s allies Mia Yim and B-Fab tried to swing the match in the champion’s favor, only for IYO SKY to sprint down and even the odds. With the interference cleared, Ripley connected with the Riptide and pinned Cargill clean to capture the title.

    RHIYO Pays Off at WrestleMania

The result delivers the payoff WWE had been building since early April, when Ripley brought SKY over to SmackDown as her backup plan against the numbers game. Cargill described the trio as “allies of convenience” rather than a stable in the lead-up to the event, and that loose alliance proved unable to hold up under WrestleMania pressure.

Ripley and SKY celebrated in the ring together after the bell. The RHIYO reunion has been one of the most over moments in the women’s division this year, though the heavy emphasis WWE has placed on the friendship has fans bracing for an eventual turn between the two.

    How the Match Played Out

Cargill controlled the early exchanges with her power game, dropping Ripley with a shoulder block, bodyslam, and a Ripcord superkick into a facebuster. Ripley fired back with a dropkick that sent the champion to the floor, but Cargill answered with a snap scoop powerslam and a Blue Thunder Driver that nearly ended it.

The two traded strikes from their knees in a heated exchange before Ripley connected with an enzuigiri and a spinebuster for a near fall. After the interference attempt was neutralized by SKY, Ripley landed the Riptide for the three count.

Ripley Captures Title for First Time Since 2025

The win marks Ripley’s first singles title reign since March 2025. She earned the WrestleMania shot by winning the Women’s Elimination Chamber on February 28 in Chicago, outlasting Alexa Bliss, Kiana James, Asuka, Tiffany Stratton, and Raquel Rodriguez.

For Cargill, the loss ends a championship run that began on the November 1, 2025 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event when she defeated Tiffany Stratton. She had not suffered a one-on-one defeat in roughly seven months heading into the match.

    What’s Next for SmackDown’s Women’s Division

Ripley now leads the SmackDown women’s division as champion with SKY still primarily aligned with Raw. Tiffany Stratton remains a looming presence on the blue brand, and Cargill is expected to invoke her rematch clause.

WrestleMania 42 streamed live on Peacock and ESPN from Allegiant Stadium across both nights of April 18 and 19. Full coverage of Night 1 results is available here.

  • Paul Heyman Calls Jade Cargill ‘Guaranteed First Ballot Hall of Famer’ and Reveals Why He Won’t Align With Her Yet

Paul Heyman Calls Jade Cargill ‘Guaranteed First Ballot Hall of Famer’ and Reveals Why He Won’t Align With Her Yet

Paul Heyman has addressed the ongoing speculation about a potential alliance with Jade Cargill, and his answer reveals a deliberate strategy rooted in patience rather than timing.

Speaking on The Stephen A. Smith Show, The Wiseman framed any future partnership with the WWE Women’s Champion not as a question of if, but when, while making clear he has no intention of inserting himself into her story before she has written enough of it on her own.

“I’m going to continue to let her ride the momentum by herself as a Women’s Champion for all of humanity to be proud of,” Heyman said. “Let her get that solidified into the history books so that when Jade Cargill unites with Paul Heyman you are seeing two superpowers of the universe come together instead of Paul Heyman endorsing a talent that at this time is not accepted by the public, though she should be, as a guaranteed first ballot Hall of Famer.”

Heyman was direct about his reasoning, pushing back on any reading that his absence from her storylines reflects hesitation or lack of confidence in Cargill as a performer.

“It’s not willing to, it’s that I want her to have that on her own. I never want it to be that, ‘And then Paul Heyman stepped in and that’s when Jade Cargill really became a star,’” he said.

The comments come as Cargill heads into WrestleMania 42 defending the WWE Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley on Night Two at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

  • Jade Cargill Responds To Accusations of Taking PEDs

Jade Cargill Responds To Accusations of Taking PEDs

Jade Cargill has responded to unfounded accusations.

A video showing the workout routine of the WWE Women’s Champion recently went viral on X. While reacting to it, one user accused the wrestling star of taking performance-enhancing drugs.

The former AEW star was not in the mood to let the accusation pass. Jadd Cargill released a statement mentioning how her physique was a result of good genetics and hard work:

“I was going to read you for filth. But it’s no point. Long story short. No, I’m not on anything. I have GREAT genetics and I work hard. You can look at my brother and see my genetics. This clip is when I found out about my neck issues which affected my lifting. I swear yall will try to discredit me for anything. I’ve ALWAYS been muscular. But I see you can use a meal plan.”

WWE is known to have a policy of regular drug testing for talent. Last November, Andrade confirmed that he was found guilty of a wellness policy violation before his exit from the company, for using substances that were allowed in Mexico but not in US.

Jade Cargill is set to defend her Women’s title against Rhea Ripley on Night 2 of WrestleMania 42. You can check out an update on the other Women’s title match set for the Show of Shows after Liv Morgan’s injury here.

  • Jade Cargill Reveals Racist Messages From Wrestling Fans: ‘The Sh*t I get Is Unreal’

Jade Cargill Reveals Racist Messages From Wrestling Fans: ‘The Sh*t I get Is Unreal’

WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill has exposed the racist messages she receives from wrestling fans on social media. She shared screenshots on her Instagram stories showing the harassment she faces daily.

Cargill posted multiple examples of racist direct messages, noting this represents only a fraction of what floods her inbox. She made clear the abuse won’t derail her career trajectory in WWE.

“I have so many more. But it’s no point in showing them. Anywayyyy. I hope they feel better. Cause they won’t stop my black a*s from being successful lmaoooo.”

The Women’s Champion highlighted the volume and severity of the messages she encounters.

“The sh*t I get is unreal. My DMs are flooded with it daily. Always has been. Idk why I’m showing it now. But yeah… this is nothing compared to what I get. But it’s sad.”

Jade Cargill’s decision to speak out shines a light on a darker reality that many performers continue to face behind the spotlight. By sharing even a small glimpse of the racist abuse flooding her messages, she’s exposing how normalized it has become in certain corners of the fanbase.

She is set to put her Women’s title on the line against Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 42, stepping into one of the biggest matches of her career.

  • Jade Cargill: My NXT was AEW

Jade Cargill: My NXT was AEW

Jade Cargill describes her time in AEW as her version of NXT, saying she learned professional wrestling on live television without any traditional developmental training.

“I’m raw. My first match ever was on TV. I didn’t go through the indies. I didn’t go through all the training. I didn’t do all that. My NXT was AEW,” Cargill said in an interview on Scores & Assists with Joe Budden.

The WWE Women’s Champion contrasted her path with WrestleMania 42 opponent Rhea Ripley, who came up through the traditional indie-to-NXT pipeline before becoming a main roster star.

A First Match Like No One Else

Cargill’s professional wrestling debut came on national television in AEW alongside Shaquille O’Neal in 2021, with only a single practice match under her belt beforehand.

“They told me, ‘You’re going to be a bad guy and you’re going to go out there with Shaquille O’Neal’ on national TV. I just did it,” she said. “Probably one, two, three people in the entire world get something like that to start off with. I’m just blessed.”

Cargill went on to hold the AEW TBS Championship for over 500 days before signing with WWE. She told Budden that the rapid trajectory has come with real weight.

“Me being skyrocketed to the top, that’s a lot on my shoulders,” she said. “People think it’s so easy to be at the top. I’m a freaking human. I put on my pants just like everybody else.”

Cargill defends the WWE Women’s Championship against Ripley at WrestleMania 42 on April 18-19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

  • New Faction Formed On SmackDown

    New Faction Formed On SmackDown

A new faction has been formed.

Tonight’s episode of SmackDown featured another heated confrontation between The Women’s Champion Jade Cargill and her WrestleMania challenger, Rhea Ripley.

The two talked about their upcoming title match and Jade told her opponent that she needed the title and wrestling to be somebody. The Mami replied by saying she does need the championship because she has sacrificed everything to get to where she is.

Cargill tried to bring IYO SKY into the conversation next, but Ripley stopped her. The former Judgment Day star then offered Jade the first shot, but the Women’s Champion chose to walk away, or so it seemed.

The duo of B-FAB and ‘Michin’ Mia Yim, who have been feuding with the former AEW star made their entrance as Jade was walking up the ramp. They backed her up towards the ringside, and at first, it seemed like the tag team will attack the Women’s Champion.

Jade Cargill’s expression then changed, however, and B-FAB and Yim surrounded the ring instead. They attacked Ripley from both sides, allowing the champ to hit a superkick and Jaded on Rhea to end the segment.

  • Jade Cargill Seemingly Agrees With Criticism of Her Title Reign

Jade Cargill Seemingly Agrees With Criticism of Her Title Reign

Jade Cargill wants to wrestle more.

The WWE Women’s Champion has been criticized for lack of matches since winning the title back in November. She has defended her championship only once since her SNME victory, and in total, the former AEW star has only competed in 6 matches on TV since then.

During a recent interview with Complex Graps, the WWE rookie was asked if she was satisfied with her title reign or if there was something she would like to change about it. Jade Cargill seemingly put the blame for her lack of in-ring time on creative, saying that she would have loved to wrestle more:

“I mean, I want to wrestle. When you become champion, you want to defend your title as much as possible. We have a stellar locker room, but they’re all tied in the tag division, making that strong. And I get it, but I want to wrestle.”

That’s What I’m Here For: Jade Cargill

Jade Cargill named Nia Jax, Charlotte Flair, and Alexa Bliss as names she would have loved to get in the ring with as a champion. She mentioned that she has been playing a tweener character so their status as heel or face would not have been a problem:

“So, I just would’ve wished to wrestle more. That’s all I want to do is wrestle. That’s all I want to do. I think getting dressed up is pretty and nice, and having these promos, and I love that too ‘cause it puts me to the test, but I like wrestling, and that’s what I’m here for.”

Apart from this, Jade Cargill talked about her time in AEW, and revealed why she stopped using the technical wrestling moves she learned from Bryan Danielson there. You can check out her remarks here.

  • Jade Cargill Blames Fans For Not Doing Technical Wrestling Anymore

Jade Cargill Blames Fans For Not Doing Technical Wrestling Anymore

Jade Cargill has explained why she stopped doing technical wrestling.

The wrestling abilities of the reigning WWE Women’s Champion has been a topic of discussion among fans recently after multiple names suffered injuries while working with her. People have questioned whether sending the former AEW star to NXT would have been the better decision, considering that she has defended her title only once since winning it back in November last year.

The female star seemingly addressed the criticism of her limited abilities in the ring during a recent interview with Complex. Jade Cargill mentioned how she learned a lot of technical wrestling while working with Daniel Bryan at Tony Khan’s promotion. She had to abandon those lessons however, because she got no reaction from fans:

“Daniel Bryan taught me so much technical wrestling and I tried it. I tried to do some technical wrestling, it’s funny because when I tried technical wrestling — I have tried it, go back at my old stuff at my previous company. I tried it, I had no reaction out of fans.”

That’s What They Like: Jade Cargill

Jade Cargill claimed that fans do not want to see a wrestler her size doing technical wrestling. The WWE star explained that what people like is seeing her talking smack and throwing people around:

“I learned so much, I was training with him every week. You know what fans want to see? Me picking somebody up and throwing somebody around, me talking my smack. They don’t want to see me on the ground grappling.

I know how to grapple, I know how to do it, they don’t want to see that. They cheer, they boo, they get up out of their seats, they do what they need to do when I’m pounding to the ground, that’s what they like.”

Later in the interview, Cargill noted that the two people whose advice she is applying to her performance are Booker T and Billy Gunn. Jade also said that she is a big girl who looks good whooping ass of other talent and there is no reason she should be going toe to toe with smaller wrestlers.

  • Backstage News On Rhea Ripley And Jade Cargill Exchange

WWE is happy with the buzz for Rhea Ripley and Jade Cargill.

The Twitter exchange that started with the Women\’s Champion reacting to The Mami\’s Elimination Chamber victory quickly took a sharp turn after Cargill said that Ripley spent hours talking to the creative. This prompted a number of female stars to speak up in support of Rhea and made people wonder about Jade\’s standing in the company.

Fightful Select recently provided an update on the whole thing, noting that the comments started as a work but took a \’more serious turn\’ when the Women\’s Champ brought up creative. On the belief that the exchange was all part of the story, a creative team member said that bringing them up undermines the point of their feud.

There is no news of heat from the management for any of the involved parties, and no concerns about the two working together. The higher-ups were said to be happy about the buzz generated by the online beef and the feeling that the two women legitimately disliked one another.

Sources close to Jade Cargill dismissed the situation as not being a big deal. Though the locker room has also taken note of the fact that Tiffany Stratton, Michin and B-Fab all suffered injuries after wrestling the former AEW star.

Rhea Ripley on this week\’s Raw, confirmed that her tag team with IYO SKY was going on a break as she pursued the Women\’s title. She also announced an appearance on this Friday\’s SmackDown for a confrontation with her WrestleMania opponent.

  • Rhea Ripley, Jade Cargill Exchange Insults on X

Rhea Ripley and Jade Cargill (c) didn\’t wait long to start talking trash ahead of their WWE Women\’s Championship match at WrestleMania 42. The two erupted into a heated exchange on X on Sunday, and it got personal fast.

It started with Ripley firing the opening shot, posting: \”All you seem to do is talk… And that\’s literally it.\” Cargill fired back quickly, taking aim at Ripley\’s standing backstage: \”Talk??? Like the hours you spend talking to creative?\”

Ripley wasn\’t having it, responding with a blunt rebuke: \”You\’re funny… That\’s funny… Now we know you really do be talking out of your ass because everything you say is bullshit. Don\’t spread lies on my name you dumb B.\” Cargill closed it out with a simple: \”Hit dogs will holler. Holla holla holla ?\”

    The WrestleMania 42 Stakes

The bad blood comes less than 24 hours after Ripley punched her ticket to Las Vegas. Ripley won the Women\’s Elimination Chamber match at Saturday\’s PLE in Chicago, last eliminating Tiffany Stratton with the Riptide to earn the title shot.

Cargill has held the WWE Women\’s Championship since defeating Stratton at November\’s Saturday Night\’s Main Event. Ripley enters as the biggest challenge of Cargill\’s title reign, and Sunday\’s social media exchange suggests the tension between them is already very real.

Notably, Cargill\’s \”creative\” jab implies Ripley benefits from preferential backstage treatment — a claim that is sure to fuel fan debate heading into WrestleMania season. Ripley denied it flatly, and Cargill\’s parting shot suggests she\’s not backing down.

    A First-Time-Ever WrestleMania Clash

Despite both women being cornerstones of WWE\’s women\’s division in recent years, Cargill vs. Ripley is a first-time-ever singles match. The two have never crossed paths in a one-on-one setting since Cargill\’s WWE debut at the 2024 Royal Rumble.

Ripley is 3-1 in previous WrestleMania world championship matches, while this will be the most high-profile title defense of Cargill\’s reign. WrestleMania 42 takes place April 18-19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, streaming on ESPN Unlimited domestically and Netflix internationally.

  • SmackDown Stars Return To TV After Holiday Tour Injury

Michin and B-Fab are back on SmackDown.

This week\’s episode of the Blue Branded Show featured a backstage segment that saw the Women\’s Champion Jade Cargill in a photoshoot. The former AEW star ran into B-Fab as she started walking away.

When Cargill asked the former Hit Row star if she wanted to challenge her, B-Fab replied that there were others in line before her, and this is when Michin entered the frame.

Carrying a Kendo stick, the returning star warned Jade that she will be coming after the Women\’s Champion for injuring her. The segment ended with Cargill walking away.

Michin suffered an injury while wrestling Jade Cargill during the post-Christmas live event tour last December. B-Fab, who replaced Mia Yim on the tour, also ended up being put on the shelf after a house show match with the former TBS Champion. Both women had been off TV since.

Mia Yim was scheduled for a championship match against Jade before her injury, and it\’s possible she\’ll get her title shot after tonight\’s return.

  • WWE Undecided On WrestleMania 42 Title Plans

WWE is still figuring out their WrestleMania plans.

The company made some creative adjustments to the plans heading into the Show of Shows in January, leading to Cody Rhodes losing the WWE title to Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns winning the Royal Rumble.

While the title plans for the men\’s division seem clearer than before coming out of the latest WWE PLE, the plans for the Women\’s title are apparently still in flux.

Specifically, it\’s the WrestleMania opponent for Jade Cargill that is yet to be decided, according to Fightful Select. Per the site, names such as Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton have been considered as opponents for the Women\’s Champion of the blue brand, but a final call is yet to be made.

While not directly stated, it likely means that Liv Morgan is pencilled to face the Red Brand\’s Women\’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer at WrestleMania 42, even if the 2026 Royal Rumble winner is yet to officially announce her pick for the Show of Shows.

Jade Cargill is set to defend her title against Jordynne Grace at this Friday\’s SmackDown. This will be her first title defence since winning the championship from Tiffany Stratton back in November last year.

  • Big Title Match Confirmed For SmackDown Next Week

A big title match has been announced for next week.

This week\’s episode of SmackDown featured an appearance from 2026 Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan, who was accompanied by Raquel Rodriguez. After Liv talked about her WrestleMania choice, Morgan and Rodriguez teased addressing \’the elephant in the room,\’ but Women\’s Champion Jade Cargill interrupted the duo.

Jordynne Grace was next to come out, and it led to General Manager Nick Aldis booking a tag team match between the two sides. The chaotic ending of the bout saw Raquel accidentally hitting Liv with a big boot to her face while trying to take out Cargill.

Rodriguez then had a staredown in the ring with the Women\’s Champion but Grace came out of nowhere, shoving the Judgment Day star into Cargill. This allowed Jordynne to pick up the victory for her team.

Later in the night, we saw Jade Cargill and Jordynne Grace arguing with each other backstage. The SmackDown GM once again provided a solution, booking a title match between the two for next week\’s episode of the show. This will be Jade\’s first televised title defence since she won the belt from Tiffany Stratton on November 1 last year.

The episode also featured the first qualifying matches for the Elimination Chamber. You can check out the names who earned a place in the bout here.

  • Jade Cargill Losing Support From WWE Fans

WWE Women\’s Champion Jade Cargill may be holding gold, but she\’s losing the crowd. After wrestling only 7 minutes and 25 seconds on television since winning the championship nearly three months ago, fans are turning on the powerhouse star—and recent SmackDown segments with Jordynne Grace have made the disconnect impossible to ignore.

The issue runs deeper than limited TV time. Cargill\’s cocky \”That B***h\” persona, and her promos telling Grace \”this is my show\” generate natural heel heat. She still has a lot of support, but the portion of the crowd who aren\’t buying it is growing – and responding with boos during what should be babyface moments.

    Jade Cargill unphased

During an appearance on the Beyond the Bell podcast, Cargill said:

“I go out there and I’m gonna do the best I can do, to the best of my ability. And if y’all don’t like it, which today, people don’t like anything. Let’s be real. Fans don’t like anything that’s put out. It’s your problem, not mine.” “If people at the front office are happy, and my coworkers happy, and whomever was in the ring with me is happy, that’s all that matters.”

This pattern isn\’t new. Throughout her wrestling career, dating back to her November 2020 AEW debut, Cargill has been carefully protected with short matches designed to hide developmental gaps. Her record-breaking 508-day AEW TBS Championship reign featured primarily squash victories rarely exceeding five minutes. Four years into her career, that protection strategy now looks like a limitation.

Wrestling history shows companies typically \”double down\” on struggling characters, tweaking presentation in hopes something clicks with audiences. WWE attempted this by turning Cargill heel in October 2024, leading to her championship victory at Saturday Night\’s Main Event. But the minimal TV time since winning the title—zero televised defenses as singles champion—suggests WWE remains uncertain how to maximize her strengths while minimizing weaknesses.

The Grace confrontation crystallizes the dilemma. When Grace posted \”Marketable look vs undeniable work. Let\’s see whose show it really is,\” she articulated what fans increasingly believe: look and presence don\’t replace in-ring ability and audience connection.

Cargill\’s social media response—\”shut your short *** up before I step on you\”—perfectly captured the arrogant heel persona fans want to see fully embraced on television.

The solution appears obvious: let Cargill be the dominant, trash-talking villain her character naturally embodies. Heel champions can work shorter matches, talk more trash, and generate genuine heat—all playing to her current strengths.

History shows audiences ultimately make these decisions regardless of company plans, and the boos during SmackDown segments suggest the choice has already been made.

  • NXT Star Officially Joins SmackDown

Jordynne Grace is officially a main roster star.

NXT General Manager Ava had revealed this past Tuesday that Grace was one of the names who had moved up from the development brand, but she had not revealed which show the former Knockouts Champion had joined.

This week\’s SmackDown from Berlin, Germany, then saw General Manager Nick Aldis officially welcoming the former champion as the newest member of the show\’s roster. When Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre interrupted the two, Aldis booked Jordynne Grace in her debut match against Fyre.

The debuting star went on to pick up a quick victory in the match that took place later in the night. After the bout, however, Grace was confronted by the Women\’s Champion Jade Cargill. The reigning champion had previously warned the WWE rookie against joining the brand and we\’ll have to see how things progress between the two.

  • WWE Star Injured At Holiday Tour, SmackDown Match In Question

An unfortunate injury on the WWE Holiday tour.

Michin, who has been feuding with Jade Cargill on TV in recent weeks, had wrestled the reigning Women\’s Champion on a couple of post-Christmas WWE house shows.

The former Knockouts Champion posted some photos on Instagram earlier this week, however, noting that she had to cut her Holiday tour short.

While Michin herself did not explain the reason behind this, Fightful Select provided an update on the matter. They revealed that the female star was pulled off the tour after suffering a shoulder injury.

Not much is known about the severity of the injury at this time, but the whole thing could force officials to shuffle the plans for Cargill heading into the new year.

Michin was announced to face Jade Cargill in a singles match on the January 2 SmackDown. The former Retribution member had been promised a title shot if she could defeat the current champion in this non-title match, but the status of this bout is now up in the air.

She joins the list of WWE talents who have peculiarly dealt with shoulder issues over the last few months, including names such as Penta, Dominik Mysterio, Sheamus, and Chad Gable.

  • Jade Cargill Reveals What Triple H Told Her After Women\’s Title Win

Triple H told Jade Cargill that her work is just starting after her title win.

The current Women\’s World Champion spoke to Brad Gilmore recently to promote WrestleMania 42 from Las Vegas. The female star discussed things such as what Mania means to her, how far in advance she plans her wrestling gears and more.

During the talk, the former AEW star also discussed winning her first singles title in WWE last month. She revealed that Triple H was not in the building that night, but The Game gave her valuable advice when he finally saw her:

“He actually wasn’t there that day. He wasn’t there that day, but that following Friday we did, he was just telling me how proud he was of me and how much I’ve grown in this company and that the hard work is just starting. So he was just proud of me, told me that, you know, I worked so hard to get here, but now the hard work really starts.”

Jade Cargill made her wrestling debut for AEW back in 2021. She went on to become the Inaugural AEW TBS Champion and had a lengthy run with the title that established her as a star in the industry.

She has had a couple of runs with the tag team titles after leaving AEW for WWE in 2023. Cargill finally won her first singles title in the Endeavor-owned promotion, defeating Tiffany Stratton at Saturday Night\’s Main Event on November 1.

  • WWE Champion Already Planning WrestleMania 42 Entrance

WWE Women\’s Champion Jade Cargill is thinking far ahead, revealing she\’s already planned her entrance for WrestleMania 42 next April.

Speaking on The Collection with Brad Gilmore, Cargill disclosed she\’s been working on the concept since October and is ready to submit it to WWE creative for approval.

\”I\’ve already pinpointed the entrance I want to have, I\’m gonna shoot that over to creative, let’s hope that\’s approved,\” Cargill said. \”As far as gear, that\’s going to depend on my entrance. I have two options, lets see how the entrance goes, and that\’s going to create my idea for the entrance outfit.\”

The champion explained her meticulous approach to WrestleMania presentations, noting she conducts extensive research for both entrances and attire. Her WrestleMania 41 entrance this past April paid tribute to Tyler the Creator\’s memorable 2021 BET Awards performance, which featured a dramatic windstorm theme.

\”My WrestleMania entrance last year was a tribute to Tyler the Creator at the BET Awards, where he went through the whole storm as he was walking,\” Cargill revealed. \”It was more intricate, but that was a tribute to his BET performance that I thought was phenomenal, and I was wondering how I could turn up the storm.\”

Cargill is currently 2-0 at WrestleMania and captured the WWE Women\’s Championship from Tiffany Stratton at Saturday Night\’s Main Event in November. WrestleMania 42 takes place April 18-19, 2026 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

  • Jade Cargill Credits WWE Mentors, Shades Naomi

WWE Women\’s Champion Jade Cargill has acknowledged the role Bianca Belair and Naomi played in her rapid rise through WWE\’s women\’s division.

Speaking on the Going Ringside podcast, Cargill discussed her debut positioning alongside two established stars as part of what WWE dubbed \”The Big Three.\”

\”You know, I would have never been positioned in a better way working with two great women at the time. I can\’t speak on Naomi right now. But I think being positioned with those two women and working with them as us being the Big Three, I would have never got a better opportunity,\” Cargill said.

Cargill\’s comment about not being able to \”speak on Naomi right now\” appears to be an in-character reference to their current on-screen rivalry. Naomi and Cargill were frequently paired together during Cargill\’s first year in WWE, including during their Women\’s Tag Team Championship reign, before their partnership fell apart on television.

Despite the kayfabe tension with Naomi, Cargill was clear about the value of her mentorship from both women during her transition from AEW to WWE.

\”I think being under those two taught me a lot as far as entering a whole new industry, uh, well, company and getting on the fast track,\” she explained.

Cargill\’s WWE journey has been remarkably swift. She debuted at the 2024 Royal Rumble, won the Women\’s Tag Team Championship with Bianca Belair, and recently captured the WWE Women\’s Championship from Tiffany Stratton at Saturday Night\’s Main Event. Sol Ruca also reflected on her breakthrough year ahead of her SNME match against Bayley.

When asked about her former rival Tiffany Stratton, Cargill stayed firmly in character: \”I don\’t want to talk about Tiffany Stratton. She\’s gone right now. It\’s all about Jade Cargill and the Jade Cargill show that you can catch on Smackdown every Friday.\”
