  • Jackie Redmond Recalls Reaction To Sharing Screen With The Rock

Jackie Redmond has opened up about her unexpected encounter with The Rock.

The WrestleMania XL Kickoff show was the major pivoting point for the story leading up to the main event of the Show of Shows that year. Originally going in the direction of Roman Reigns vs. The Rock, the story pivoted back to a match between Reigns and Cody Rhodes, after The Great One slapped the American Nightmare during this event. The tail end of this show featured an interaction between The Rock and Triple H, which gave birth to the Final Boss character.

During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Jackie Redmond opened up about being part of this segment. She mentioned that she had been with WWE only a for a year at that point and the Triple H interview was not planned. She was asked to speak to the Creative Head only minutes before the segment, and Redmond noted that she had no idea The Rock would stop by to hurl abuse at the Game:

\”I should know better at this point that basically 99% of the time when I’m interviewing someone, it will be interrupted, that’s pretty much a staple of what I do. But I had no idea that Dwayne The Rock mother f*cking Johnson was gonna come out, yell at Hunter and drop F bombs all on live television. People do not believe me to this day, that I did not know The Rock was gonna do that. I did not know, hand to God did not know that that was gonna happen. And so when it did, that was a very real reaction from me.\”

Jackie Redmond mentioned that the moment brought her back to her childhood. She felt like being back in the Attitude Era when the two WWE veterans used to be arch-rivals. The WWE broadcaster said that the whole thing was very surreal for her and one of those moments where she couldn\’t believe that it was actually happening.
