  • Eva Marie Confirms Total Divas Heat

Former WWE superstar Eva Marie recently confirmed that the tension between her and the rest of the Total Divas cast was authentic. She also discussed her sobriety journey during a recent interview.

Speaking on the “Insight” podcast, Eva Marie noted that she understands why her co-stars felt that way, explaining that everyone in the women’s locker room was fighting for TV time while she arrived as a featured personality on the reality series. She added that they are all on good terms now.

Eva Marie on Total Divas Drama

Eva Marie confirmed the authenticity of the drama on Total Divas, stating:

“Oh, that **** was real. I mean, we’re all good now, but that’s why I can laugh and talk about it, because that **** was [real].”

She elaborated on being an outsider, saying:

“For sure, and I totally get it. ‘Pay your dues. Who is this bitch? We’ve been going hard for the last X amount of years.’ You have to think too, not only were there two-minute matches, there is one storyline for the girls, so it’s a dog-eat-dog world.

Eva Marie joined WWE in 2013 and was soon called up to the main roster. She also competed in NXT for a year. Her run with the company in 2016 was shortened due to a Wellness Policy suspension, and she was pulled from the SummerSlam card and replaced by Nikki Bella.

Eventually, she parted ways with WWE in 2017 before returning for a second run in 2021. However, she was released during the round of layoffs.

  • Eva Marie Explains Why She Got Red Hair Against WWE Orders

Eva Marie has revealed why she dyed her hair red for her first WWE run.

The former WWE star recently spoke to Chris Van Vliet for an interview. She discussed topics such as her infamous wardrobe malfunction segment, opening up about her struggles with addiction on Total Divas, and more.

During the session, Eva Marie also told the story behind her red hair that gave her a unique look and made her stand out during her first WWE run. The female star, whose natural hair color is black, recalled getting the call from WWE office offering her the job. The instruction that was given to her at the time was to go blonde so she didn\’t overshadow the Bella Twins:

\”When I got a call on Saturday saying that I got the job, they mentioned a lot of the girls that have left were platinum blonde. Because the twins are Mexican-Italian too, so we don’t want you to look like one of The Bella Twins. Are you okay with changing your hair to platinum blonde? I didn’t care. I was like, Yeah, sure, whatever.\”

Like Mufasa From Lion King: Eva Marie

When Eva Marie finally went to the salon to get the blonde look, however, she realized that it would not work for her. Marie, whose mom was a hairdresser, claimed that maintaining the blonde look would have ruined her hair completely. So in that moment, she made the decision to dye her hair red instead, taking inspiration from Rihanna:

\”I’m in the chair, and they’re stripping my hair color from previous colors and stuff, and it starts to kind of look orangey. I literally look at JoJo and I was like; I can’t do it. I literally say in the chair, I look like Mufasa from The Lion King. I look insane. It looks terrible. It’s orange. There is no way.

Well, I was listening to Rihanna’s album at the time, it was when she had that crazy fire-red hair. I think her album was called Loud at the time. I was like, dude, her hair is sick. It was just such a fire engine red. I was like, f*ck it. Let’s go red.\”

The former wrestling star noted that it was a huge gamble on her part since she was going against the edict of Vince McMahon and other higher-ups. Though she decided to go with it anyway, because Marie knew that she would never be successful if she felt insecure and self-conscious while joining the company.

  • Evan Marie Opens Up About Infamous Wardrobe Malfunction Segment

Evan Marie has opened up about her most famous segment.

The former WWE star spoke to Chris Van Vliet for a new interview. She talked about things such as accidentally joining the cast of Total Divas, dying her hair red for her WWE run, and more.

During the talk, the female star also opened up about her infamous wardrobe malfunction segment. Evan Marie recalled how she hadn\’t had much training before joining the main roster, and the storyline was that she always had an excuse for postponing her in-ring debut. The early ideas for that included her getting stuck in traffic or hurting her knee. While she doesn\’t remember who pitched the idea of the wardrobe malfunction segment, she was ready to do it without any hesitation:

\”I can’t remember who exactly thought of that idea, but it was pitched to me. I’m obviously easy, I’m really am, especially because I’m a bad guy as is, so I have removed really quickly being the hero or being like, the one that doesn’t look silly. Because I think that also is a big component in going into WWE. Sometimes some superstars have a really hard time with [being the butt of the joke], or not being the man. I kind of let that sh*t go, because it was like, it’s fine, here we are, and it worked. People really did hate me.\”

It Came Off Pretty Good: Eva Marie

Eva Marie noted how WWE fans really hated her character, and they couldn\’t wait to talk shit to her. She then mentioned how the segment, which is on of the most watched YouTube videos of the company with over 47 million views, was hard to pull off on live TV:

\”But the wardrobe one was gnarly, because it’s live television, so to make it realistic, we had to do like we did a run through with it, because the last thing that we needed me actually dropping my top. So cameramen were paranoid, freaking out, so I was securely taped, but it came off pretty good.”

The former NXT star later also praised Becky Lynch, who was supposed to face her on the night, for her performance during the segment.
