WWE Hall of Famer Predicts ‘Stupid’ Danhausen Merch Numbers

WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff recently doubled down on his Danhausen merchandise prediction.

He told listeners of his 83 Weeks podcast that the wrestler’s merch numbers are going to be “stupid,” eclipsing Cody Rhodes’ No. 1 spot by a significant margin in the fourth quarter.

The discussion comes after Cody Rhodes cited Danhausen as one of wrestling’s top merchandise sellers, remarks that have since been widely referenced across the industry. Here is what Bischoff said:

“Whatever threshold that Danhausen reached to become number one, according to Cody, he will eclipse that by a multiple of, I said 1.5 last time, I’m going to say 1.8 over the fourth quarter between Halloween and Christmas,” Bischoff said. “I think Danhausen merch is just going to be stupid.”

Bischoff’s comments build on that context, framing Danhausen’s commercial appeal as proof of a broader philosophy about what makes a great performer.

“Maybe the best wrestlers, sports entertainers, professional or otherwise, are the ones that make the most money,” Bischoff said.

“And right now, Danhausen, although he is not what you would call a ratings getter, he’s probably making top money, and he’s good for business. That’s the best part. He’s really good for business. That crossover, yes, it’s revenue, but it’s also good branding. It’s good for the business.”

Bischoff also praised Danhausen’s professionalism and presentation, calling the overall package a refreshing change of pace.

“I’m just so impressed with Danhausen, and the thinking and the effort on his part, the professionalism is so entertaining, it’s so fun, it’s harmless, it’s harmless fun, it’s nice to see some of that for a change,” he said.

  • Mick Foley Advised Not To Wrestle In AEW

Mick Foley Advised Not To Wrestle In AEW

Eric Bischoff says Mick Foley joining AEW is a great idea but has a clear message for the Hall of Famer — stay out of the ring.

Foley was announced as co-host of the AEW Double Or Nothing Buy In alongside Renee Paquette. Bischoff addressed the signing on his 83 Weeks podcast, offering praise for what Foley brings while drawing a firm line.

“I think Mick Foley as part of the AEW brand is a great idea. He’s such a talented guy. He’s so good on the mic and he’s a great storyteller. He knows instinctively how to get people over. You don’t have to teach him anything — he can add, live, improv, follow a script. He’s a really super talented guy. And obviously, the name value, the credibility, the legacy that comes with him has great value.”

“Please don’t get in the ring. Please don’t do that, Mick. I’ll support him whatever he does because I really, really respect him. But I hope, because I respect Mick, that he allows us the privilege of remembering him when he was able to do some unbelievable things in the ring. That’s the memory I think most people want of Mick Foley. We’ll get as much of Mick as we can behind the desk or interacting with talent. But please don’t do it in the ring. If it’s an angle — something happens outside the ring and there’s some physicality — that’s all cool, and that’s Mick. But when you talk about seeing him in the ring for a 12-, 15-, or 20-minute match. That’s the part where it gets tough.”

Bischoff also offered an explanation for why he believes Foley’s appearance in AEW has nothing to do with money.

“Mick doesn’t need the money. He’s famously good with his money. He’s probably set for generations. So it’s not financial. Mick is one of those guys who just loves it and can’t get that needle out of his arm — and by that I mean his connection to the live audience. His ability to connect and create emotion is addictive. Once you develop that neural pathway, it becomes something you have to feed. Just because you walk away from the ring or the stage doesn’t mean that pathway disappears — it just waits until it finds an opportunity again. And then — whether it’s Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Roddy Piper, Muhammad Ali — guys at the top who maybe should’ve stopped, but didn’t. Not because they had to — but because they couldn’t. Let’s hope Mick gets his fix being on camera, having fun, and doing things that aren’t going to beat him up.”

  • Eric Bischoff: WWE Should Have Booked Ronda Rousey As Heel

WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff believes former WWE Women\’s Champion Ronda Rousey should have been booked as a heel during her time in WWE. Bischoff reckoned that WWE missed an opportunity by presenting her as a babyface.

Bischoff explained that Rousey\’s intensity and combat sports background made her a natural fit for a heel role. He added that Rousey never fully clicked with the WWE audience and seemed unmotivated, driven more by the payday than a genuine passion for professional wrestling.

    Bischoff\’s Critique

Speaking on the 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff stated:

\”Ronda is a natural heel. She should have never been positioned as a babyface in WWE.\” He argued that her background as a fighter made her more believable as an aggressive force. Bischoff also called Rousey overrated in professional wrestling.

The former three-time WWE Women\’s Champion and UFC Hall of Famer will return to mixed martial arts on May 16th, 2026 and will face women\’s MMA pioneer Gina Carano at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. The fight was recently confirmed by Jake Paul\’s Most Valuable Promotions and will stream live on Netflix.

  • Eric Bischoff Responds To Latest Bret Hart Controversy

Eric Bischoff believes Bret Hart needs a therapist.

Apart from his usual thoughts about Bill Goldberg, The Hitman has attracted attention recently for his controversial remarks about other names in wrestling.

He\’s claimed that Sheamus throws embarrassing punches and that Shawn Michaels and Vince McMahon were romantically involved with one another during the Attitude Era.

The former WCW President discussed these comments from Hart on the latest episode of his podcast. Eric Bischoff dismissed the notion that the former World Champion was just being funny and claimed that Bret is actually just bitter:

\”No, I don’t think he was being funny. I think he’s being bitter. And the reason I feel that way is because of everything that we’ve heard out of Bret Hart for the last couple of years.

When I talk about a guy who’s just hanging on, I just talked about it. He’s hanging on to this perception of himself as the greatest there ever was. And not only a Canadian hero, which is whatever, but like a cultural hero of some sort.\”

I Think It\’s Clinical: Eric Bischoff

Eric Bischoff mentioned that Bret Hart was popular during his active years, but not as much as some other stars. He cited the decline in WWE numbers during the Hall of Famer\’s reign as champion as proof that he got very close to being a top star, but never actually reached that level.

The former pro wrestling executive then suggested that the wrestling legend should seek therapy to deal with his issues:

\”I don’t know, man. It’s just so bitter. I’m not joking — I think it’s clinical. If I was someone close to Bret, I’d suggest maybe go see a therapist or talk to somebody and just leave that baggage behind. Your life will be way better if you do.”

Apart from this, Eric Bischoff also discussed the creation of Revan\’s Flock in WCW and more. You can check out the full episode of his podcast below:
