One of the images showed Scarlett dressed as Charlotte, mourning someone who had become part of their family. He posted the tribute on X.

“I’m So Sad To Hear About The Loss Of Scarlett! She Fought A Tough Battle With Cancer, And Throughout It, Her Strength & Bravery Never Wavered. She Was A Light Of Pure Joy. The World Lost A Beautiful Soul, But Heaven Gained An Angel! She Will Live On In Our Hearts & Memory Forever. Rest In Peace Scarlett! ??,” the WWE Hall of Famer wrote.

Scarlett’s family announced that she passed away following her battle with Diffuse Midline Glioma, a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer. They remembered her as a little girl who could change the mood of an entire room just by walking into it.

A Bond That Started With A Smile

Charlotte Flair also shared her own emotional tribute to the eight-year-old.

“At a time when I was feeling sorry for myself, you gave me something so much greater than I could have ever given you. You gave me perspective. You taught me courage, gratitude, joy, and how precious every single moment truly is. Those lessons will stay with me for the rest of my life,” Charlotte wrote.

Scarlett previously designed Charlotte’s entrance gear for Survivor Series: WarGames last year, and ‘The Queen’ later dedicated her WrestleMania 42 ring gear to Scarlett.

As the tributes poured in, support built around Scarlett’s family. A GoFundMe recorded more than $63,000, with NBA star Tyrese Haliburton contributing $10,000 and Charlotte, using her real name Ashley Fliehr, donating $8,000 toward funeral and memorial.

Charlotte Flair has personally donated $8,000 to a GoFundMe memorial for Scarlett Guillen, the eight-year-old superfan who passed away after a battle with rare brain cancer. Flair contributed to her real name, Ashley Fliehr, as the fundraiser set up by Scarlett’s family climbs toward its $50,000 goal.

Scarlett’s death was confirmed by her family, with the GoFundMe launched for a memorial for the young girl. The page had raised nearly $29,000 from more than 176 donations.

A Bond That Went Beyond The Cameras

Charlotte Flair and Scarlett connected in 2024 through a WWE outreach program while Flair was recuperating from the knee injury that kept her out of the ring for a year. The relationship deepened well past a single meet-and-greet.

Scarlett designed the attire Flair wore at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames last year and attended the event in person. Flair also brought Scarlett and her family to WrestleMania 42 as VIPs, dedicating her ‘Butterfly’ attire to her fan.

Away from WWE programming, Flair had also attended Scarlett’s First Holy Communion ceremony, a detail that speaks to how personal the connection had become.

Flair has long spoken about the meaning of her connections with fans, including how those relationships helped her through a difficult period in her personal life.

Scarlett Guillen, the eight-year-old WWE fan whose friendship with Charlotte Flair reached wrestling’s biggest stages, has passed away following a courageous battle with Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG), a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer.

Scarlett first became known to WWE fans through a community outreach program, where she formed a close bond with Charlotte Flair that continued well beyond the cameras.

That friendship left a mark on Flair’s own presentation, as the wrestler honored Scarlett by wearing entrance gear inspired by her at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames last year and later dedicated additional WrestleMania 42 attire to Scarlett and her fight against cancer.

Scarlett was diagnosed with DMG that affected midline brain structures, including the brainstem. Her family documented her journey publicly throughout her illness, sharing her treatment updates and moments of joy with a supportive community.

Family Shares Tribute And Appeal For Support

Scarlett’s family shared an emotional tribute on her GoFundMe (Guillen family) page, remembering her spirit and the countless lives she touched.

“Our hearts are shattered beyond words. After an incredibly courageous battle with DMG, our beautiful daughter Scarlett has gained her angel wings. She was only eight years old, yet she touched more lives than many people do in a lifetime,” the family wrote.

“Scarlett was the light of every room she entered. She had the funniest personality, a contagious laugh, and a smile that could brighten even the darkest days. She was strong, determined, silly, and full of love.”

The family added that being Scarlett’s parents “has been the greatest honor of our lives,” and expressed gratitude for the community of love and support that surrounded them throughout her journey.

They are now asking for help with funeral and memorial expenses to give Scarlett the farewell she deserves. Those unable to donate were asked to keep the family in their thoughts and to consider sharing Scarlett’s story.

“Our precious Scarlett will forever be loved, forever be missed, and forever be our greatest blessing,” the family wrote.
