MJF Blasts TNA’s Carlos Silva: “What He Is Doing Is Disgusting”

AEW World Champion MJF escalated his war of words with TNA President Carlos Silva on Busted Open Radio, calling the executive’s decision to block TNA talent from competing against AEW wrestlers on the independent circuit “disgusting.”

“Let’s talk about TNA and the fact that they are pulling young talent off of shows when they’re barely paying them any money whatso-f*cking-ever and telling them, ‘Hey, you can’t wrestle because there is a guy from another promotion that is wrestling on this show,’” MJF said. “Does that help young talent grow? Does that help young talent become better inside the squared circle?”

“Moreover, does that help young talent put food on their plate and on their table so they can eat? What Carlos Silva is doing is disgusting and if anybody supports him or that company at this point, it is very hard for me to wrap my head around.”

The remarks come one day after TNA’s new policy torpedoed several high-profile indie bookings, including MJF vs. Nic Nemeth at Create-A-Pro’s Monumental Moment show on May 1 and Ricochet vs. Leon Slater at WrestleCon’s Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow on April 16. Per Fightful Select, TNA also blocked a planned MJF vs. Bear Bronson match for GCW in March.

Silva confirmed the pullbacks to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, citing “partner conflicts,” an apparent reference to TNA’s ongoing partnership with WWE. Per PWInsider, TNA’s concern was that its wrestlers could look bad by losing to talent from outside companies on uncontrolled events. Sources close to the situation told Fightful the move appears to be trending toward a full ban on TNA talent facing AEW wrestlers anywhere.

MJF had already taken to social media ahead of Busted Open, calling Silva “actively a dumb motherf***er” and noting that TNA pays its talent “sh*t” while simultaneously cutting off their independent income.

  • Carlos Silva Insists WWE-TNA Partnership is Strong

TNA Wrestling President Carlos Silva has definitively shut down rumors that WWE\’s partnership with the company is coming to an end, revealing that the relationship is stronger than ever and that WWE actually helped TNA secure its new AMC television deal.

Appearing on The Ariel Helwani Show last week, Silva addressed speculation head-on when asked about reports suggesting WWE intended to end the NXT-TNA partnership.

\”There\’s zero there like factual anything to that statement,\” Silva declared. \”Things are going great. I mean, Leon Slater was on the CW last night in an eight-way on the NXT show. Lee Ying just won the belt back at Madison Square Garden just a few weeks ago. Things are great.\”

Silva went further, explaining that the new AMC platform actually enhances the partnership\’s value for both companies.

\”I think they\’re going to just be even better now that hopefully we\’ll be able to give a little bit back to WWE and NXT by having their superstars come on AMC Network, a bigger platform that is good for everybody,\” he added.

WWE\’s Role in TNA Securing the AMC Deal

The TNA President also credited WWE\’s involvement as a major factor in securing the AMC deal in the first place, highlighting how the partnership elevated TNA\’s profile over the past year.

\”Did they help us? Absolutely,\” Silva acknowledged. \”I mean our 2025 was great because of WWE and NXT. So many integrations, you know, Joe Hendry running into WrestleMania, so many, you know, every Tuesday night we\’ve been on the CW on NXT. I think all of that exposure absolutely helped us get the AMC deal done. It helped to elevate TNA as a platform and we\’re super appreciative for it.\”

Silva also shared a memorable moment from the partnership, recounting how Shawn Michaels personally allowed him to present the TNA Knockouts Championship to Lei Ying Lee at Madison Square Garden after she became the first Chinese world champion in company history.

\”It was really nice that Shawn Michaels and the team allowed me to go into the ring and give her her TNA belt, now as the world champion, first Chinese world champion ever. Amazing moment,\” Silva said.
