The Vision member Bron Breakker is reportedly expected to be fine after limping out of his match with Seth Rollins on this week’s WWE Raw, a welcome relief for a superstar positioned for a major push.
Breakker appeared to be hurt following the bout, and a video circulated online afterward that seemed to show him limping. That clip sparked immediate concern among fans given the trajectory WWE has him on.
As per a new report from False Finish, the scare amounted to nothing more than him being “banged up,” with no time off expected.
The outlet reported that the situation is minor and will not impact his ability to compete moving forward.
“Bron Breakker was indeed banged up after his match with Seth Rollins on #WWERAW but nothing that will affect him or working in-ring moving forward,” False Finish posted.

The timing of the scare added to the worry. Breakker only recently returned to action, and another setback would have been a damaging blow as the promotion looks to move him further up the card.
Coming out of WrestleMania 41, one of the biggest stories in WWE was the emergence of The Vision. Seth Rollins was newly heel, aligned with Paul Heyman, and taking Bron Breakker under his wing, all of which was exciting and promised a great deal of intrigue with a new heel faction positioned on top of the Raw brand.
The year to follow was largely defined by injuries, which were beyond the control of the group members or WWE creative. The booking too, however, hasn’t necessarily done this stable many favors. With over a year of the Vision being realized in WWE, it’s time to evaluate how well the group has served each of its members.

Seth Rollins winning the Saturday main event of WrestleMania 41 felt like a career milestone as he moved to 2-1 in ‘Mania main event scenarios and won his first more conventional outing in this context—a Triple Threat in which he was on his own that didn’t involve him joining mid-match via Money in the Bank cash-in.
Speaking of Money in the Bank, Rollins won that too for the second time in his career and worked a legitimately shocking angle when he faked an injury and cashed in on CM Punk at SummerSlam. At Crown Jewel, The Visionary beat Cody Rhodes in a champion vs. champion showdown. So, for that half-year stretch from April to October, there was reason to think his time atop The Vision might actually succeed at elevating Rollins to a new echelon of stardom, or at least be in the running for the best stretches of his career.
The wheels came off when Rollins had to relinquish the title due to a legitimate injury, and WWE ran a nonsensical angle of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed turning on him in the process. The group was left without a leader and Rollins suffered from the passive style of babyface turn—a heel whose heel buddies turn on him—that so rarely leads to success. Masked man drama to follow felt more confusing and redundant than intriguing.
And now, going into Summer 2026, Rollins finds himself in an uneasy tag team alliance with Montez Ford against Breakker and Austin Theory. It’s hard to see any argument that The Architect is in better standing than he was before launching this faction. Indeed, even moments like him putting over Breakker at Backlash really felt like they did less to put over the young upstart than to further damage the established star.
Bron Breakker: C-
Bron Breakker becoming Seth Rollins’s first ally, under the tutelage of Paul Heyman in April 2025 made all the sense in the world. Breakker had looked like a dominant force for much of his freshman year on the main roster and had quite arguably outgrown the Intercontinental Championship picture by the time he dropped the title in a four-way bout that kept him protected at WrestleMania 41. Teaming up with Rollins offered a clear route for Breakker himself to advance to the main event level while sitting beneath the real-life learning trees of Rollins and Heyman alike.
One of the pitfalls of faction membership is that there’s a real risk of anyone but the group leader coming across as a sidekick or fall guy. While Breakker has certainly had his moments, he never enjoyed any career advancement as a heater for Rollins. From there, after Rollins left the group, Breakker felt less like the new leader than one part of a thoroughly mid-card stable.
Indeed, one of the most telling images of The Unpredictable Badass’s run with The Vision may well have come at Clash in Italy, where he was pictured in the crowd alongside Austin Theory as tag team champions. It’s a title Breakker never really won (subbing in for an injured Logan Paul). Moreover, being positioned as Theory’s tag partner positions Breakker a clear step back from where he had been when he first joined The Vision, and arguably even further back than he had stood when he reigned as NXT Champion before even making it to the main roster.
Bronson Reed: B-
Bronson Reed has had the misfortune of catching the injury bug each time he looks poised to advance from the upper mid-card to the fringes of the main event scene. The optics of him running alongside Bron Breakker as dual monsters in The Vision had potential, but mostly saw both men stall out in the upper mid-card before Reed wound up hurt again.
Reed went on the injured list at a plateau, and the absolute best that can be said about his Vision run to date is that he maintained his position on the roster, perhaps interacting with main event guys a smidge more for backing Rollins and returning to War Games.
The master of the Tsunami has one of the murkiest futures of Vision members, though, when he does return to action. Simply returning to the fold of the group will all but certainly make it feel like he and the faction alike are spinning their wheels. Feuding against them doesn’t necessarily make sense either, though. Indeed, the best thing for Aus-Zilla would probably be for the faction to dissolve before he gets back or else to move away from them to SmackDown to get a fresh start.
Austin Theory: A-
The Vision hasn’t done its members, nor its rivals many favors. Indeed, the one man with a real case for having benefited is Austin Theory.
Theory’s peak, to date, saw him win Money in the Bank, reign as United States Champion, and beat John Cena at WrestleMania 39. The years to follow saw him slide, arguably improving as an in-ring talent, but toiling in a forgettable tag team alliance with Grayson Waller.
Theory being revealed as a masked man helping The Vision gave him a small boost back into relevance and affiliating with the group has given him a role on TV and a number of PLEs. In the end, Theory seems to, himself, be emblematic of the faction he’s enrolled in—a competent mid-card and tag team guy with no clear signs of advancing to a new level, but at least his roster spot has felt a little surer for having run with the group and recaptured tag team gold.
Logan Paul: D
Logan Paul at SNME. Photo: WWE.com
Logan Paul was an anomaly in WWE—a celebrity part-timer who took to WWE so naturally and was so well-positioned that he absolutely thrived throughout his first three years-plus working with WWE. Indeed, after Paul made the leap to wrestling full time, it seemed altogether reasonable that colleagues and pundits speculated about his future as a world champion.
That future may well still be in play for The Maverick, but wrestling full time, including weekly TV spots that are not designed as showcase matches for him, has exposed some of Paul’s limitations. Indeed, while he once was a reasonably credible one-off challenger to the likes of Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes as WWE Champions, now it’s hard to think of Paul as much other than a tag team role player for whom another US title reign or a run with the Intercontinental Championship feels like a reach.
Paul is out now due to injury and that actually may be the best thing for him to keep learning away from the ring and out of the spotlight, but also to hit the reset button on his character. Yes, Paul had the makings of a compelling Paul Heyman guy given all his tools, but The Vision wasn’t paving the road for him to feel like a top guy to fans. Starting over once he’s cleared could help Paul get the stink of The Vision off him as he moves on to better things.
Paul Heyman: D
Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman. Photo: WWE.com
Paul Heyman is in the conversation among the greatest managers of all time. His most recent faction work with The Bloodline prior to The Vision highlighted just how much he brought to the table as an on-screen talker and a behind-the-scenes creative contributor alike. The Vision, however, may have exposed Heyman’s limitations.
As much as injuries and uneven creative are probably the biggest culprits in The Vision’s failings, it’s a black mark for The Oracle that he hasn’t been able to better salvage this group or its collective angles. Indeed, while there was so much reason for optimism about Heyman mentoring Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed in particular to new heights, in reality, the whole stable has stumbled. A backdrop of Heyman cutting above-average promos hasn’t been enough to retain crowd investment.
It may be most telling of all that, while Heyman has been involved with Brock Lesnar since his return last year and Lesnar was a part of The Vision’s War Games team at Survivor Series, The Beast has never actually been presented as a proper part of the faction.
A generous perspective would suggest Lesnar just doesn’t fit the ethos of the group, and is a side client of Heyman’s. A more critical point of view, however, would suggest WWE recognizes The Vision as a sinking ship. They’ve patched holes to keep that ship at sea, arguably long past its true viability, but the company has no interest in dragging down a property as valuable as Lesnar along with them.
Maxxine Dupri: Incomplete
Recent weeks have seen WWE hint at Maxxine Dupri being a part of The Vision and specifically attached to Austin Theory. The concept has merit for Dupri, Theory, and arguably the group on the whole. Each of them could use a boost. A heel turn feels fresh for Dupri and the addition of a femme fatale at Theory’s side gives him something different, besides which adding a female member to the faction will at least take them in a new direction. Faction warfare could be on the table opposite The Judgment Day, for example, or perhaps a reinvigorated American Made in the wake of Chad Gable dropping the Original El Grande Americano gimmick out of a widely celebrated AAA match.
Without Dupri officially joining The Vision as of press time, it’s unfair to evaluate how the group will impact her or how she’ll impact the group. Nonetheless, if WWE is going to continue running with this group, there’s reason for optimism her membership will mark at least a small step in the right direction.
Overall Grade: C-
In the end, for all its shortcomings and misfortune, it’s not fair to call The Vision a complete failure. The early months of the group’s run were entertaining and did some small favors for Seth Rollins. Austin Theory has enjoyed some small career progress since his enrollment, and Maxxine Dupri’s involvement with him and the faction has promise.
That said, the long-term arc of The Vision to date has set back Rollins, at best kept Bronson Reed in place, hurt Logan Paul’s standing, and dinged Paul Heyman’s legacy. Worst of all, where Bron Breakker once looked like a breakout main event inevitability, he’s now a young star in need of rehabilitation if he’s ever going to be taken seriously at the top of the card.
Concerns have emerged over a potential Bron Breakker injury.
Breakker faced Seth Rollins on the June 1 episode of WWE Raw, with Rollins picking up the win. The match also saw Breakker accidentally spear Paul Heyman.
A video footage began circulating on social media showing him limping following the show. The footage was shared on social media and quickly drew attention from fans concerned about Breakker’s health.
No official statement from WWE or Breakker himself has been issued regarding his condition. This would not be the first time injury concerns have surrounded the The Vision member, as he has dealt with physical setbacks previously in his career.
Kevin Nash has a simple question for WWE and he cannot understand why no one inside the company has acted on the answer.
On the 200th episode of Kliq This, Nash addressed Bron Breakker’s name during the Raw recap segment and made the case that the solution to whatever is holding Breakker back from the next level is sitting right there in his family tree.
“I saw, or actually heard, Seth call him Steiner, and it’s like, when is the WWE going to realize that he is a Steiner. He’s Bronson Rick Steiner. Why don’t I just call him Bron Steiner?”
Nash then went directly at the current ring name with the kind of clarity that only someone with decades in the business can bring.
“Bron Breakker sounds like something I watched on a cartoon in 1971.”
Co-host Sean Oliver compared it to a Marvel villain’s name. Nash did not disagree and continued building his case, arguing that the refinement Breakker has shown as a performer has made the corporate ring name feel even more mismatched.
“Bron Breakker. And maybe they thought that’s the direction that he’d go, but now that it’s been refined, and he held his nose and did this, the voice. It’s just like, come on, man. The guy can do it all. He looks like a million bucks. He can talk, he can definitely do the walk. So it’s just like, let the boy Boogie Woogie. Let him be Steiner.”
Nash returned to the family legacy argument again later in the same segment, pointing out the internal contradiction of WWE referencing the Steiner name through storylines while refusing to put it on the marquee.
“If you’re gonna make reference to it, if you’re gonna make reference to his uncle and his father, then…”
He was referencing the 2022 NXT angle where Joe Gacy and Harland kidnapped Rick Steiner to set up Breakker’s title program. Bronson Rechsteiner is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner and the nephew of Scott Steiner. He inducted both into the WWE Hall of Fame in April 2022 and uses the Steiner Recliner, the camel clutch his uncle made famous, as one of his finishing moves.
Nash also addressed Breakker’s spear, which appeared twice during Monday’s Raw against Seth Rollins. He praised the first one, a full-sprint effort from the entrance ramp, while questioning the second.
“He half ass missed that one. The first one, when he comes that whole distance, let alone the fact that it was a 390 yard sprint.”
Oliver raised concerns about the spear as a long-term career move given the spine and shoulder stress it generates. Nash agreed and pivoted to his own back, which he said is herniated at L2, L3, and L4 from years of his sidewalk slam dropping his full weight and his opponent’s onto his right hip.
WWE Backlash 2026 takes place Saturday, May 9 at the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida, the first Premium Live Event following WrestleMania 42. The post-WrestleMania fallout show streams on the ESPN app in the United States and Netflix internationally.
Backlash has long served as the first major reaction to WrestleMania, the show where new champions defend, fresh challengers emerge, and unfinished business gets settled. Backlash 2026 is no exception. The card is built almost entirely on storylines that either began at WrestleMania 42 or were specifically held off the Las Vegas card to land in Tampa.
This is also the first Backlash to stream on ESPN in the United States, marking a new chapter for WWE’s Premium Live Event distribution after the Peacock contract expired at the end of Clash in Paris last August.

Match Previews
World Heavyweight Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jacob Fatu
Reigns reclaimed the World Heavyweight Championship from CM Punk at WrestleMania 42 Night 2. Fatu was the first challenger to step up, and he spent two weeks proving he belongs in the main event.
The challenge: Fatu confronted Reigns on the Raw After WrestleMania and demanded a Backlash title shot.
The statement: Pinned Solo Sikoa in the SmackDown main event April 24, then dismantled the rest of MFT solo.
The personal layer: On April 27 Raw, Fatu cut a raw promo about 12 years of struggle and being ignored by Roman, Jey, and Jimmy. Solo was the only family member who reached out.
What’s at stake: The Usos have warned Fatu that winning means taking the title, the ula fala, and family leadership.
The wrinkle: Fatu has never challenged for a world title in WWE. He’s also never looked more ready than he does right now.
Singles Match: Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker
This was supposed to happen at WrestleMania. Six months of Vision fallout finally pays off in Tampa.
The breakup: Breakker and Bronson Reed turned on Rollins last October, kicking him out of his own stable.
The injuries: A Crown Jewel shoulder injury forced Rollins to relinquish the World Heavyweight Title and shelved him for four months. Breakker tore a hernia in early February.
The WrestleMania spear: Breakker returned at WM 42 Night 1 and speared Rollins to set up Gunther’s win.
The challenge: Rollins blamed Breakker for both his Mania loss and Reigns winning the title. Breakker, with Paul Heyman in his corner, accepted on April 27 Raw.
What’s at stake: Rollins’ first PLE singles match since WrestleMania, and Breakker’s first chance to prove he carries a featured spot without stable backup.
Asuka vs. IYO SKY
Another match WWE originally targeted for WrestleMania 42 finally has a date, with one major piece of the storyline missing.
The betrayal: Asuka and Kairi Sane turned on SKY last September, fracturing the post-Damage CTRL alliance.
The receipts: SKY and Rhea Ripley beat The Kabuki Warriors at Crown Jewel and Survivor Series WarGames, then took the Women’s Tag Titles on the Raw on Netflix Anniversary Show in January.
The flashpoint: Asuka interfered in SKY’s Women’s Intercontinental Title match against Becky Lynch on April 27 Raw, costing SKY the win, then attacked her with the Asuka Lock.
The missing piece: Kairi Sane was released by WWE on April 24. Laredo crowds chanted “We Want Kairi” during the post-match attack.
What’s at stake: Personal pride for both, with SKY needing a win after the IC Title loss and Asuka looking to reassert herself as the women’s division’s top heel.

Multiple matches have been confirmed for Backlash.
Tonight’s episode of Raw from Sames Auto Arena in Laredo, Texas, opened with a Seth Rollins promo. The Architect talked about Roman Reigns winning the World Heavyweight Championship and his loss to Gunther at WrestleMania, blaming both these developments on Bron Breakker.
The Vision star, accompanied by Paul Heyman, then made his way to the ring. After some back and forth, Rollins called Breakker ‘Baby Steiner’ and announced a match between the two for the upcoming PPV.
Later in the show, we saw IYO SKY challenging Becky Lynch for the Women’s IC title. Asuka cost SKY the bout with her interference, and a match between the two was then announced for Backlash.
The main event of the show featured Roman Reigns calling out Jacob Fatu for his answer, after he gave the Samoan Warewolf a week to reconsider his challenge to the Tribal Chief.
Fatu ended up attacking Roman when Reigns claimed that allowing Jacob to challenge for the championship would be nepotism. As the former US Champion was making his way back up the ramp, the Head of The Table grabbed the mic and made the World title match official for the May 9 PPV.
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross believes Oba Femi has the strongest chance to headline WrestleMania 43 as WWE Champion, ranking him ahead of Bron Breakker and Logan Paul.
Femi’s momentum shifted dramatically after his main roster debut led to a feud with Brock Lesnar. At WrestleMania 42, Femi defeated Lesnar in his first WrestleMania appearance, with ‘The Beast Incarnate’ removing his gloves and boots afterward to signal retirement.
Ross Explains His WrestleMania 43 Pick
Good Ol’ JR discussed the rising stars’ championship potential on the latest Grilling JR Podcast. Ross highlighted Femi’s unique positioning after defeating Lesnar as the key factor in his prediction. Ross sees ‘The Ruler’ as the slight favorite in the championship race.
“He’s got a better shot at it than anybody you and I can probably name right now, because he beat the monster. And he’s unique. His look is unique. He’s very impressive in that regard.
Oba Femi being the champion at next year’s WrestleMania is going to be dependent upon how fast the company can build total confidence in his ability. He’s got to stay reliable. He’s got to work on his game. He ain’t ready. But you got to run with a guy if you’re making that kind of commitment.”
The veteran commentator acknowledged that the Nigerian powerhouse still needs development, but emphasized WWE’s commitment by having him defeat Lesnar. He noted that no one currently on the roster has a significantly better chance at holding the title at WrestleMania 43.
Breakker and Paul Also in Contention
While selecting Femi as his top choice, Ross praised both Breakker and Paul. He called Paul “the best worker of the group” and noted his fundamental soundness often gets overlooked due to his physique.
Ross expressed strong support for Breakker’s potential, citing his athletic background and wrestling lineage.
“Breakker is a, I love his game because he’s a legitimate tough athlete that has the pro wrestling DNA flowing through his veins. If I had to make a pick, Oba is going to be one, and maybe Breakker will be one A. But you damn sure don’t want to pass over on Steiner’s kid.”
Breakker returned at WrestleMania 42 after recovering from hernia surgery for nearly two and a half months. He speared Seth Rollins and cost him his match against Gunther at the Premium Live Event.
Both Femi and Breakker previously competed in NXT before their main roster transitions. Paul took a different path, working feuds with Sami Zayn and The Miz before becoming a full-time WWE performer.
Bron Breakker has broken his silence following his shocking return at WrestleMania 42, and he’s warning the WWE locker room that the version of himself they’re about to face is more dangerous than ever.
Breakker made his first WWE appearance since the February 2 episode of Raw on Saturday night at Allegiant Stadium, storming the ringside area and spearing Seth Rollins in half during the Seth Rollins vs. GUNTHER match.
The interference allowed GUNTHER to lock in the sleeper hold for the win, after which Breakker sprinted the length of the WrestleMania entrance ramp to deliver a second spear, then reunited with Paul Heyman at the top of the stage.
The Bad Ass had been out of action for nearly three months following emergency hernia surgery. According to a report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Breakker was actually cleared to compete in early April, but WWE opted to hold off rather than rush the Rollins program without a proper television build.
Bron Breakker Talks Wrestlemania Return
On Sunday, Breakker took to Instagram with gruelling training footage shot at Fury Performance Academy in Woodstock, Georgia, his hometown. Alongside the clips, he posted a lengthy statement that doubles as a mission statement for whatever comes next.
“No matter how down that I may get. No matter how much pain I’ve had to go through. No matter how much adversity I’ve had to put myself through. All roads lead to the same place: WrestleMania.”
“I came here to this building to Fury Performance to see how close that I can get to the line. See how far I can push myself.”
“To see how much pain and suffering I can put my body through at the breaking point and how much further am I going to go? How far can I break myself down and destroy myself and push my mind in this process? How far am I willing to go? How tough really is Bron Breakker? How much of a dog really is Bron Breakker?”
“I’m gonna remind the whole world who the f**k I am.”
Breakker’s attack on Rollins wasn’t a one-off. Paul Heyman confirmed on the WrestleMania 42 Night 1 Post-Show that he was the mastermind behind the assault, and that there are “not enough consequences” coming for Rollins in the weeks ahead.
The Rollins vs. Breakker program was originally the plan for WrestleMania 42 before the hernia injury scrapped it. With Breakker now officially back and aligned with Heyman’s Vision, the match WWE put on ice last month appears to be next on the road out of Las Vegas.
BRON BREAKKER SPEARS SETH ROLLINS AGAIN!!! #WrestleMania
WrestleMania 42 Night 2 goes live Sunday, April 19 from Allegiant Stadium, headlined by CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship. Stay tuned to SEScoops for continued WrestleMania fallout coverage.
The path to Seth Rollins vs. Gunther at WrestleMania 42 has been weeks in the making, and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has the full picture.
According to Meltzer, the Rollins/Paul Heyman storyline over recent weeks was always designed to set up Gunther choking Rollins out at Madison Square Garden. The match has been the plan for several weeks.
Gunther landing the spot was a product of circumstance. The original plan had Logan Paul working with Rollins, but The Bloodline and the Usos were slated for a celebrity match involving IShowSpeed and Paul, which removed Paul from that equation. When Bronson Reed suffered an injury on top of that, WWE needed a new opponent for Rollins and turned to Gunther.
As for Breakker, Meltzer clarifies that his absence from the WrestleMania card has nothing to do with his recovery from hernia surgery. Breakker is cleared. WWE simply chose not to rush the match, wanting a proper television build before pulling the trigger on Rollins vs. Breakker.
WrestleMania 42 is just weeks away, and this year’s card has been significantly shaped by injuries throughout the roster. The Rollins situation alone went through multiple pivots before landing on Gunther as the opponent.
Bron Breakker’s NXT run could have looked very different.
The second-generation star was one of the biggest success stories coming out of the NXT revamp in late 2021, dubbed 2.0. He surprised everyone with his debut performance in September that year. It was the result of his impressive showings that the 28-year-old won the NXT title only 4 months after his first match for the brand.
During a recent interview with No Contest Wrestling podcast, Tony D’Angelo talked about this early period of the rebranded NXT. He revealed that originally, the officials had planned for him to be part of a tag team with Bron Breakker, which would have leaned into the latter’s wrestling heritage more prominently:
“When we first got in, me and Bron were in a tag together. So we were doing that for a minute. Not on TV, but they were priming us, ‘This is what you’re gonna do,’ kinda like the new age Steiner Brothers type of deal. I was [to wear a singlet], but I was wearing a singlet before that anyway, so that wasn’t foreign.”
The idea was nixed shortly before the development brand was given a new identity. According to Tony D’Angelo, it was Road Dogg who informed him of the decision:
“I just remember one day, Road Dogg came up and he was like, ‘Hey man, we’re not doing this,’ and this is right when 2.0 first kicked off, they kinda just, ‘Clean slate, everybody, we kinda have a lane for you,’ and I had to figure out quick what I was gonna do,”
Tony D’Angelo would go on to introduce The D’Angelo Family faction in April 2022. Bron Breakker would be moved to the main roster in February 2024, while D’Angelo has remained with NXT.
The Vision member has been out of action since January’s Royal Rumble PPV. He underwent a hernia surgery after hurting himself in a table spot during the February 2 episode of Raw.
Fightful Select recently provided an update on the status of the former NXT Champion. They noted that a source at WWE has expressed optimism that Bron Breakker will get cleared for action before WrestleMania.
There is said to be a plan in place for the explosive star if he is able to make his return before the Show of Shows, though the site did not confirm what that is.
The obvious guess would be a match with Seth Rollins after the Architect returned to the company at the Elimination Chamber PPV last month and cost Logan Paul the bout.
We’ll have to see if the officials have alternate plans for Rollins in case Breakker is unable to make his return before the Las Vegas PLE, or if the former World Champion is left in limbo like another WWE main event talent. You can check out more about it here.
Paul Heyman has been making headlines with The Vision\’s rise, but during a recent appearance on Busted Open, he set the wrestling business aside entirely to get personal. Heyman shared the story of his own near-exit from the industry, and why that career crossroads impacts his relationship with Bron Breakker today.
Breakker suffered a hernia requiring emergency surgery just as a massive WrestleMania spotlight was forming around him. Heyman didn\’t sugarcoat what that feels like from the inside.
\”There is never the right time to get injured. It\’s always, \’Oh man, of all days to get injured, this would be the worst time.\’ And that\’s the day you get injured,\” Heyman said. \”Every day that he\’s home right now, it\’s eating him up alive. Great. I want that for him.\”
The counterintuitive optimism is deliberate. Heyman believes the hunger that comes from missing out will make Breakker a more dangerous performer when he returns.
\”He\’s going to come out hungrier than ever because now he understands what it\’s like to miss out. And that\’s just going to f*** with his head to the point that when he comes back, he\’s going to appreciate this even more than he already does.\”
Where Are You on Day Eight?
Paul Heyman said he calls Breakker every single day — and he had sharp words for the culture of performative support that typically surrounds injured athletes.
\”Day one is the easiest, because that\’s when everybody does it — that\’s when everybody puts their tribute,\” he said. \”Where are you day eight? What happens day nine when it\’s not 50 people tweeting about you? What happens when you\’re not the topic of conversation? Those are the days where you sit there and you say, \’I let everybody down. I let myself down. I let my family down.\’ That\’s why I call him every day.\”
The message he delivers each time is simple but intentional:
\”Every day, to let him know — \’Hey, you\’re one day closer to coming back. Here we go.\’\”
Breakker had been building toward one of the bigger WrestleMania spotlights of his career before the injury struck. Heyman\’s commitment to seeing him through the recovery reflects the same long-game mentality that defines everything else about The Vision\’s operation — the belief that what happens in the dark determines who you become under the lights.
Breakker injured himself on the February 2 episode when he flipped over the announcer\’s table at ringside in frustration. The table spot went wrong, causing the hernia that required surgical repair within days.
The injury is particularly notable because it wasn\’t caused by an opponent or planned spot – Breakker hurt himself during an improvised display of anger. WWE has not announced when the former IC champion will return to action.
The incident is the latest example of pro wrestlers suffering serious injuries while getting physical at ringside outside the confines of a sanctioned match.
Bron Breakker is currently sidelined following surgery to repair a serious hernia, with no timeline announced for his return to WWE.
Dave Meltzer first reported that Breakker underwent the procedure but did not provide a recovery timeline or expected return date.
“Bron Breakker had surgery for a serious hernia. No word on how long he’ll be out.”
The following night on Raw, Breakker appeared in a rage, destroyed ringside equipment, and was forcibly removed from the building by Adam Pearce—a segment that now appears to have served as his television write-off.
WWE has not announced a timetable for Breakker’s return, and reports indicate his status for WrestleMania 42 remains uncertain.
Paul Heyman accused Seth Rollins of being the masked attacker who ambushed Bron Breakker at the 2026 Royal Rumble in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday night. The attack led to Breakker\’s immediate elimination from the men\’s Royal Rumble match and derailed The Vision\’s plan to send their leader to WrestleMania 42.
https://x.com/wwe/status/2018353954338521112?s=46
How the Attack Unfolded
Breakker entered at #2 with Heyman at his side, heading toward the ring where Oba Femi waited as the #1 entrant. A hooded figure in all black struck from behind, slamming Breakker into the steel steps before delivering a superkick and a Curb Stomp — Seth Rollins\’ signature finishing move.
The attacker threw Breakker into the ring, where Femi immediately eliminated him. Heyman screamed at officials that the assault was Rollins\’ doing. \”How can that be legal? That was Seth Rollins,\” Heyman declared.
Triple H Teases Rollins\’ Involvement
During the post-show, Triple H chose his words carefully when asked about the mystery. \”I don\’t want to make any accusations, but this is a pretty clean Curb Stomp,\” he said. When it was noted the attacker appeared to have performed the move before, Triple H replied, \”Yeah, at least one.\”
Rollins Denied Being in Saudi Arabia
Rollins has been sidelined since October with a torn rotator cuff suffered at Crown Jewel. He repeatedly stated he would not be in Riyadh, telling ESPN\’s First Take he couldn\’t make it and telling the Sal Licata Show he\’d be home on \”solo daddy duty.\”
However, Rollins has a history of deception. Last summer he faked a knee injury before returning at SummerSlam to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase. He recently admitted on ESPN that he \”lost all credibility\” when it comes to injuries.
The Austin Theory Angle
The attacker wore gear similar to the masked figure revealed as Austin Theory in December, when Theory debuted as The Vision\’s mystery man at Survivor Series using the same Curb Stomp-style attack. This has fueled speculation that Theory could be working as a double agent within the faction.
Signs of dissent were visible heading into the Rumble. On the January 26 Raw, Theory showed less enthusiasm about The Vision\’s plan for Breakker to win. During the Countdown show, both Theory and Logan Paul stayed silent when asked if they\’d sacrifice themselves for Breakker — only Bronson Reed said yes.
Roman Reigns won the men\’s Royal Rumble for the second time, while Liv Morgan won the women\’s match. The Road to WrestleMania is officially underway — and the identity of Breakker\’s attacker is one of the hottest mysteries WWE needs to resolve.
Earlier, a production graphic error on Friday\’s SmackDown listed Breakker as number one entrant, sparking confusion. It seem WWE has made chicken salad out of the situation and turned it into a storyline.
Paul Heyman confronted WWE official Adam Pearce on the pre-show, questioning the legitimacy of the draw.
\”Random draw my Kosher tuchus. Don’t tell me it’s a random draw. Listen, for how many years did people think that number one was the worst position… You start off, and number one has the high ground. So number two is even worse than number one. And you want to make him number two? Really?\”
– Paul Heyman
CM Punk defended Pearce, insisting the Royal Rumble draw process remains random despite Heyman\’s accusations. Heyman argued the number two spot statistically disadvantages entrants more than number one.
Bron Breakker has gone viral more than once in the last few months over his devastating spears. This has obviously led to comparisons with The Tribal Chief, who has used the move for years and picked up victories over some of the biggest names in the industry with it.
So it was no surprise when The Head of the Table was asked about this during his appearance on Pat McAfee show. Though Roman Reigns even refused to entertain the idea that the two are similar in any capacity, claiming that there is more to the spear than just hitting somebody:
\”A finishing move is a finishing move. I\’m such a different type of performer. I\’m on a whole different level. We\’re talking about finisher? We\’re talking about the spear, bro? Come on now. You talking to Mozart here. I create real art. It\’s not just about running down a ramp and flying through the air and hitting somebody.\”
Roman Reigns did offer a little bit of praise to Bron Breakker, saying that the Vision member has a full career ahead of him, but explained that he\’s got to continue evolving his game for it:
\”He\’s a great athlete, I mean, but we all are, you know what I mean? And as you get older, you gotta evolve. You gotta learn all the different nuances to this game. You gotta sharpen every blade in your set. So I think Breakker\’s got a hell of a future in front of him as long as he kind of stays out of my wheelhouse.\”
Breakker might get a chance to prove Roman wrong and match spears with him when both the stars enter the Royal Rumble match this Saturday. You can check out spoiler on a potential debut that might be happening during the bout here.
Adam Pearce has suspended Bron Breakker after a heated confrontation.
The January 12 episode of Raw, coming live from Düsseldorf, Germany, featured the duo of Bronson Reed and Austin Theory in action. Their match against Penta and Dragon Lee could not reach its conclusion as Bron Breakker appeared out of nowhere and took out both the masked stars with spears.
An angry Adam Pearce stopped Breakker mid-way through his run. Things only got more chaotic with his appearance, however, as Bronson Reed took out Penta with a Tsunami while the Raw General Manager was engaged with Bron. The former NXT champion then delivered another devastating spear to Lee.
Things came to a head when Breakker got physical with the Authority figure himself, shoving him in a corner before the rest of the Vision pulled him back. This was the final straw for Pearce, and the GM announced that he is suspending the former champion for an indefinite period.
The last time a WWE superstar was suspended for his actions, he ended up beating Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship. Does the same fate await Breakker and the counterpart Raw Champion CM Punk? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
CM Punk defended his World Title against Bron Breakker in the main event of the show this Monday. One spot in the bout saw the challenger having a scary landing during a failed Frankensteiner attempt on the champion.
Discussing the spot with Bryan Alvarez, Storm explained what went wrong with the whole thing. He mentioned that Punk had assumed the wrong position for the move, as his legs should have been inside the ring:
“Assuming they were going for the Frankensteiner there and not a counter, it’s like Punk specifically put his legs on the outside of the ropes and sat back so his butt was almost on the post, which you cannot take that move from there. That is the wrong position to be in. You can’t take the bump from there.\”
Lance Storm noted that Bron Breakker himself also shares the blame for the missed spot, as he should have known that the move could not be performed in that position.
The 56-year-old said that it had nothing to do with being a good athlete and mentioned that it could be the fault of either name that the whole thing did not work out as planned:
\”And Bron was facing him and watched him do it, then climbed up and did the move anyway. You cannot take that bump with your feet on the outside and sitting that far back. It just doesn’t physically work. I find it hard to believe Punk doesn’t know that.\”
Breakker was able to execute the Frankensteiner successfully in a second attempt, not long after this spot. It was Punk who ended up victorious in the match; however, despite shenanigans from the vision.
The main event of the first Raw of 2026 featured a very physical match with the Straight Edge Star putting his title up on the line against Bron Breakker. Breakker was in control in the early part of the bout and the shenanigans began not long after Punk found an opening due to a missed Frankensteiner from Bron.
The challenger knocked out the referee as Heyman called out the other members of The Vision. Austin Theory delivered a big stomp to the reigning champion, in what many thought was the end of the bout. CM Punk miraculously survived the pin attempt, however.
The lucha trio of Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee and Penta then appeared through the audience. They brawled the trio of Theory, Logan Paul and Bronson Reed away from the ring as the match continued.
Punk also had a near fall after delivering the GTS to his opponent as the anticipation built up. The former AEW star punched Paul Heyman when the latter forced him to break the STF submission he had locked in, only for Punk to end up going through the announce table himself.
The ending of the bout finally saw Breakker building up momentum for a spear by running the ropes. CM Punk managed to avoid disaster with a counter kick just as Bron went for the move, and the World Champion finally hit the GTS to retain his title.
Here’s your WWE Rumor Roundup for Wednesday, December 17, 2025, featuring the latest backstage news and speculation from around the wrestling world.
WWE “Blindsided” by Cena Tap-Out Backlash
WWE was “blindsided” by the overwhelmingly negative fan reaction to Cena tapping out to GUNTHER at Saturday Night’s Main Event, despite the decision coming from the very top. Multiple people within the company disagreed with the finish, but Triple H made the call. Meltzer reported there was “no discussion” backstage about anticipating the reaction. RVD also weighed in on the match, sharing his disappointment that the bout wasn’t longer.
WWE announced Knight is out “indefinitely” with a cracked sternum after The Vision destroyed him. Per reports, this is almost certainly a work to give him a holiday break after 65 matches in 2025—more than any other WWE Superstar. Royal Rumble surprise return seems likely.
Bron Breakker Favored to Win Royal Rumble
Breakker is considered the “whiteboard favorite” to win the 2026 Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia. Even with his January 5 World Heavyweight Championship match against CM Punk, he’s still reportedly penciled in as the winner. Randy Orton is also rumored for a Royal Rumble return.
WrestleMania 42 Main Events Taking Shape
Current plans for WrestleMania 42 are Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns III for the Undisputed WWE Championship and CM Punk vs. Bron Breakker for the World Heavyweight Championship. This marks a shift from the original plan of Reigns vs. Seth Rollins. Rhodes and Reigns signaled renewed rivalry after their WarGames loss at Survivor Series.
Brock Lesnar vs. GUNTHER Being Planned for WrestleMania
According to Self Made Pro, WWE is now planning Lesnar vs. GUNTHER for WrestleMania 42. It was originally going to be GUNTHER vs. Bron Breakker, but now that Breakker is set for a title match, Lesnar gets The Ring General instead. GUNTHER has now retired both Bill Goldberg and John Cena.
WWE High on NXT Talent After SNME
WWE reportedly came away very encouraged by NXT talent showcased at Saturday Night’s Main Event, with officials clearly seeing long-term upside in Oba Femi, Sol Ruca, Leon Slater, Je’Von Evans, and Joe Hendry. Leon Slater has already earned an NXT Championship match against Oba Femi at New Year’s Evil.
Maxxine Dupri Vignettes Getting Praise Backstage
The recent video packages focusing on Intercontinental Champion Maxxine Dupri and Nattie Neidhart have been earning positive reactions backstage. Multiple talents have spoken favorably about the presentation.
Seth Rollins Targeting February Return
Rollins is hoping for a February return to start training for WrestleMania season, though wife Becky Lynch apparently questioned the feasibility of that timeline. His trainer confirmed he’s out of his sling and rehab is going well.
While the show is still almost 2 months away, there are no main roster PPVs scheduled for December or January 2026, so the talk about potential Royal Rumble winners has already begun.
Fightful Select recently provided an update on this matter, noting that as of right now, Bron Breakker is the \’white board\’ favorite to win the prestigious battle royal next year.
The whiteboard is a reference to the board seen on WWE Unreal, which the creative team uses to map out different scenarios and storyline options for shows.
This is an interesting update as Breakker is already scheduled to face CM Punk for the World Title at the January 5 Raw, after pinning the Heavyweight Champion in the WarGames match at Survivor Series.
The show also saw Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns renewing their rivalry after the loss, and the popular belief is that these two WWE megastars are headed towards another WrestleMania match next year.
A Royal Rumble victory for Breakker would suggest that the company is planning to stretch the rivalry between the Vision and the Straight Edge Star and the feud will not conclude before the Show of Shows.
Things could change in wrestling, however, and there is enough time for the upcoming PPV that the creative could change their minds.
Saturday’s Survivor Series at San Diego’s Petco Park may have set an attendance record with over 46,000 fans in attendance, but the show’s ending left many of those fans frustrated.
Adrian Hernandez of the Unlikely podcast, who was in attendance, took to social media afterward to share his experience. Hernandez stated he’d never left a Premium Live Event with a crowd audibly angry at the conclusion of a show. A video he posted the following day captured the scene inside the stadium during the closing moments.
The footage shows a raucous crowd booing as Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and CM Punk stood in the WarGames cage while the closing credits rolled. Things didn’t improve when the live satellite went offline. The booing continued as Reigns and Rhodes had a face-to-face confrontation inside the cage.
Fan displeasure with the Survivor Series conclusion extended online, where many criticized the Men’s WarGames finish that saw a mystery attacker cost CM Punk the match. The combination of an unsatisfying match ending followed by a tepid post-show tease left a sour taste for many who attended.
There’s still plenty of time before WrestleMania 42, but this was not the jolt of momentum WWE was hoping for coming out of the show.
WWE has set its sights on two blockbuster world championship matches for WrestleMania 42, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.
The current plan calls for Cody Rhodes to defend against Roman Reigns in one title bout, while CM Punk is slated to challenge Bron Breakker for the other world championship.
Meltzer indicated that recent booking decisions have been designed to establish this WrestleMania direction.
Speaking about Punk’s recent pinfall loss, he explained the finish was intentional storytelling meant to set up the championship picture heading into the company’s biggest event.
With WrestleMania 42 still months away, plans could certainly change. However, both matches would deliver significant star power and compelling storylines for WWE’s marquee show.
The identity of the mystery man from the main event of tonight\’s Survivor Series PPV has seemingly been revealed.
The finishing moments of tonight\’s PLE saw Bron Breaker and CM Punk coming face to face as a mystery figure climbed into the ring. The man dressed completely in black looked at both the contestants for a moment before choosing to attack Punk.
He delivered a superkick followed by a Stomp to the World Champion, reminding everyone of Seth Rollins. The man left Breaker to pin Punk without revealing his identity however, leaving the fans buzzing.
Now Fightful Select has provided a big update on this matter. According to them, WWE sources claim the man behind the hood is none other than a returning Austin Theory.
The former A-Town Down Under star had been dealing with an undisclosed injury and he has not wrestled since July this year. His tag team with Grayson Waller had also been disbanded quietly as Waller aligned himself with the New Day.
Theory using the Stomp makes sense, as he has some history with Rollins. The young star was briefly aligned with the former World Champion during his Monday Night Messiah run early in his main roster career.
How this will play out with Rollins having been kicked out of the group he founded is anyone\’s guess. It\’ll be interesting to see how things unfold when the Visionary returns from his shoulder injury.
