Booker T Compares Trick Williams’ WWE Ceiling To Roman Reigns

Booker T says this is the most pivotal moment of Trick Williams’ WWE career and warned the rising star that he cannot afford to get complacent with the momentum he has built.

Speaking on the No Contest Wrestling Podcast, Booker T praised Williams’ positioning in WWE before delivering a direct message.

“Trick’s in that position now where he’s got to fly. He’s got to really, really fly. I hope he listens to this because I shoot straight. This is the most pivotal time for a young wrestler like Trick Williams. He cannot get complacent. He cannot start believing the hype. This is the time where he’s got to do more than he ever imagined to put himself into position to be that guy.”

Booker T used Roman Reigns as the benchmark Williams should be chasing.

“That guy, such as a Roman Reigns, a guy who over these last 10 years, nobody has had a bad match with Roman Reigns because Roman is a hell of a general. He’s going to go out there and he’s going to take you through that match and he’s going to take you to something so compelling at the end of the night. No matter how many people did not like Roman Reigns, they’re going to be saying, ‘Damn, he’s good.’ That’s where I need someone like Trick to really be honestly thinking about, focusing on being that guy. That guy that every guy in the locker room looks at him a certain way and they know it when he walks in the room.”

Williams debuted on SmackDown in January and, within months, was feuding with Sami Zayn and competing in his first WrestleMania. He won the United States Championship at WrestleMania 42.

  • Booker T On Security Breach At WrestleMania 42 Hotel: ‘He Was Filming Me In The Bathroom’

Booker T On Security Breach At WrestleMania 42 Hotel: ‘He Was Filming Me In The Bathroom’

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T recently said that WWE needed significantly better security at the MGM Grand hotel during WrestleMania 42 weekend in Las Vegas.

The two-time WWE Hall of Famer described the situation as the toughest he’s ever dealt with in terms of fan behavior.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T detailed how fans were mobbing WWE wrestlers and legends throughout the hotel. He urged fans to give performers more privacy and space in the future.

“Walking through MGM Grand, we needed some better security at MGM Grand this year. Just because, it was really, really hard. I can only imagine what the superstars, the guys that’s actually going out there and doing it in the ring, how it felt for them. Because I got mobbed, and I’m not even doing this anymore. So hopefully we can get that fixed.”

    Fans Followed Wrestlers Everywhere

Booker T said fans were camped out throughout the hotel and following wrestlers everywhere they went. The NXT commentator recounted one particularly egregious incident where a fan filmed him while he was in the bathroom.

“They were camped out, everywhere, they were camped out. You couldn’t walk anywhere. And they were following you. In the bathroom, I remember the guy literally was filming me in the bathroom. And when I walked out he goes, ‘Hey, Booker.’ And I just kept walking because I was so mad because he was filming me in the bathroom.”

    Security Issues All Weekend

The security problems extended throughout WrestleMania 42 weekend. After night two of the event, CM Punk knocked a fan’s phone away as the fan was trying to film an interaction between AJ Lee and Bayley.

Security was reportedly an issue all weekend, with not enough being done to give talent privacy when they had to go through common areas where fans would be.

People were being disrespectful throughout the MGM Grand, creating an uncomfortable environment for WWE talent and legends alike.

Stephanie Vaquer Comments On Booker T’s Selling of Devil’s Kiss

Stephanie Vaquer has revealed the story of Devil’s Kiss in WWE.

The Women’s World Champion had an interview with Chris Van Vliet this week before WrestleMania. She talked about things such as working with Shawn Michaels in NXT, winning her first main roster championship at WrestlePalooza, and more.

During the talk, Stephanie Vaquer was also asked about the Devil’s Kiss, a move that has gone viral on more than one occasion in her run with WWE. The Raw star mentioned that she used to do a different version of the move before signing with the company but she had stopped doing it after making her NXT debut:

“When I sign with WWE, I think, Okay, I want to stop doing that move for many reasons. I think sometimes people take that move different ways, and I don’t like that. In NXT one day, we were training, and I showed that move, and the coach is saying, ‘No, that’s good, people know that move and people like that move.’ I’m thinking yeah, but I don’t know why I don’t like it anymore.”

I’m Starting To Love This Move Again: Stephanie Vaquer

Stephanie Vaquer revealed that she was hesitant about bringing the Devil’s Kiss back because people sometimes can’t understand it. The Women’s Champion then credited Booker T for making people love the move with his energetic commentary:

“I don’t want to do that move because I hate what people say, it’s just because that move, and people can’t sometimes understand that move, and I’m gonna start to do it again. I feel good because Booker T make that move so people love this move, so I’m starting to love this move again, because Booker T make me feel like that.”

Apart from this, Stephanie also talked about WWE changing her theme song. You can check out her comments on the matter here.

Booker T Furthers Retirement Match Talk After Triple H Tease

Booker T is open to a retirement match with WWE.

The talk about a potential retirement match for the WCW Legend stirred up when Triple H posted a video showing the wrestling veteran joking about the same recently.

The 61-year-old was asked about this during the latest edition of his Hall of Fame podcast. Booker T first expressed a never say never attitude, mentioning that he hasn’t put himself into the retirement category just yet:

“Never say never, bro. I’m not gonna put myself totally in the retirement category just yet. I don’t know. I might get the itch to want to have a retirement match, and go out there and do something with one of the young guys.”

I Could Do That: Booker T

Booker T said that he would love to do something with a talent like Trick Williams. When his co-host suggested the idea of hosting the match at WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia next year, the Hall of Famer seemed very excited at the possibility:

“Doing something with somebody that I really, really love what they’re doing as far as what Trick Williams is doing right now. Heck yeah, man…of course I would do it. But I would definitely have to get myself ready for something like that. It would have to be next year at ‘Mania. Yeah, I could do that.”

The former World Champion has not wrestled a proper match under the WWE banner since 2012. Though he does enter the ring from time to time for his Reality of Wrestling promotion, having last done so in January 2025.

  • Booker T Wants You To Stop Hating His Cybertruck

Booker T Wants You To Stop Hating His Cybertruck

Booker T wants you to stop being a hater.

The WWE Hall of Famer received some negative reactions when he rolled up for his Appreciation Night on March 17 NXT in a Tesla Cybertruck. The wrestling veteran addressed these comments during the latest episode of his podcast.

Despite the recent politically charged environment of the wrestling world, the 5-time WCW World Champion did not directly address the political reasons people have come to hate Tesla and its owner, Elon Musk. Booker T instead explained that he has been waiting for the future to arrive for a long time, and he wants to experience all technological advancements he can before the end of his time on earth:

“I got a lot of heat for rolling up in my Cybertruck too, for some reason…A lot of fans hate the Cybertruck. I don’t know why. Maybe they think I’m, you know, I don’t know what they think.…For you young people out there, I’ve been waiting on the future since I was a kid.

I’m not gonna die without having self-drive mode, and all that stuff, to get me around town. I’m not leaving without it, okay? So I’m trying all the gadgets before I get up out of this place. Okay? So don’t hate me for riding in a Cybertruck.”

    I’m Serious: Booker T

Booker T noted that Cybertruck is a big vehicle, and he is happy with the legroom that comes with it. Instead of getting rid of his Tesla car, the former World Champion said that he is actually thinking of adding the Model X to his collection. Not only that, but the 61-year-old is also hoping for flying cars to become a thing soon enough:

“I was the first one, one of the boys, to have a GPS on the road. I’m serious. So my thing is, if it’s something that’s future-related, if I can get a car that can fly before I get up out of here, I’m getting one. I’m serious!”

  • Booker T Believes AEW Revolution Spot Was ‘In Poor Taste’

Booker T Believes AEW Revolution Spot Was ‘In Poor Taste’

Booker T did not like the syringe spot at Revolution.

The latest AEW PPV was main evented by a World Championship bout between MJF and his challenger, Hangman Page. The match, contested under Texas Death Match stipulation featured many brutal spots. One such spot that got people talking was when the Champion inserted a syringe in Page’s mouth.

The WWE Hall of Famer addressed the spot during the latest episode of his podcast. Booker T mentioned how Hangman had been involved in a similar angle with Swerve Strickland in their All Out 2024 match. He suggested that both times, the involvement of a syringe was in poor taste:

“Last time I saw a syringe used like that, it was in a Strickland match, and I didn’t think it was in great taste because, you know, I don’t know what these guys think or understand about needles and drugs and whatnot.”

It’s Just In Poor Taste: Booker T

Booker T explained his dislike for the use of a syringe in wrestling, saying that it reminds him of encounters with drug users in his family early in his life. The former WCW Champion explained that those moments made him not want to do drugs ever:

“But I’ve walked into a room, when I was a kid, on someone in my family — someone close to my family — with a needle in their arm, doing drugs. And it’s something that made me never want to even think about doing drugs like that.

I used to see needles on the ground when I was a kid because I was in places where I wasn’t supposed to be. So to see something like that on television, knowing what it represents, it’s just in poor taste.”

The 61-year-old later noted that he did not watch the whole thing, so he will not comment on the match. Knowing the involvement of the syringe spot however, he is glad he did not watch the show.

Steel Cage Match And More Added To 3/17 NXT

This wasn\’t the only announcement made by the Interim NXT General Manager, as he also confirmed a new tournament to determine the challengers for NXT tag team champions, Vanity Project. The tournament will begin with a match between Hank & Tank and Birthright next week with the finals taking place at NXT Roadblock on March 31.

  • Swerve Strickland Fires Back at Booker T\’s \’Bad Habits\’ Insult

Swerve Strickland has responded to Booker T\’s latest criticism with a sharp, humor-driven clapback — and used the moment to showcase his Reebok Answer 3 \”Swerve\” collaboration sneaker in the process.

On a recent episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T took aim at rising WWE star Je\’Von Evans, suggesting the 21-year-old \”probably grew up watching guys like\” Swerve and needs to \”get rid of those bad habits.\” The comment clearly framed Strickland\’s influence as a negative, a continuation of the WWE Hall of Famer\’s longstanding issues with the former AEW World Champion.

Strickland didn\’t fire back with a lengthy rant. Instead, he turned the dig into a branding opportunity. After a fan joked on social media asking how many pairs of shoes Swerve wore out \”tap dancing\” for WWE, Strickland replied with a photo of his Reebok Answer 3 collaboration and wrote: \”If he needs a new pair he can borrow mine.\”

The response works on multiple levels. It mocks the \”tap dancing\” narrative that\’s often been directed at Black wrestlers, while simultaneously positioning Swerve as the one with the mainstream crossover leverage — a signature sneaker deal with Reebok — and Booker as the one who could use a new pair.

A Feud That Goes Back to AEW Dynasty

The tension between Strickland and Booker T has been building for over a year. During a VladTV interview, Strickland questioned Booker\’s defense of WWE\’s treatment of Black talent, pointing to specific incidents including Vince McMahon using a racial slur in Booker\’s presence. Booker fired back on his podcast, expressing disappointment and saying he had personally spoken to Swerve about his comments.

Things escalated at AEW Dynasty 2025, when Strickland closed the show by telling the Philadelphia crowd \”F*** Booker T.\” Booker called the moment unprofessional, said it overshadowed the pay-per-view itself, and vowed he was done putting Swerve over publicly.

Booker\’s \”bad habits\” line aimed at Je\’Von Evans is the latest shot in that ongoing exchange, and Swerve\’s sneaker-fueled response makes clear he has no intention of letting the rivalry fade. If anything, Strickland seems content to keep flipping Booker\’s criticism into content — turning a veteran\’s jab into a chance to promote his brand while keeping the back-and-forth in the public eye.

  • Booker T Reacts To Ava\’s Mysterious NXT Exit

Booker T believes there\’s layers to Ava\’s WWE departure.

The former NXT General Manager announced her sudden exit from the company on social media last week. A lot of people have been speculating about the reason behind her decision, as the daughter of The Rock did not even receive any kind of farewell on her way out.

The WWE Hall of Famer addressed the whole thing on the latest episode of his podcast. Booker T, who is part of the brand\’s broadcast team mentioned how nobody knew that the January 28 NXT would be Ava\’s last appearance. He suspected that there are layers to the whole thing that we don\’t know about:

“It’s definitely out of the blue. It definitely got a lot of layers there that you could peel back and say, man, was it this? What is that? Or the other? But, I left work last week and I didn’t know anything about it. I didn’t hear any rumors, I didn’t feel any rumblings or anything like that as far as, hey, maybe Ava’s gonna take a step back and move on into a different direction.\”

Booker T later mentioned that wrestling is a very unpredictable business where anyone who is in the company can be gone tomorrow. The wrestling veteran claimed that even though he did not see Ava\’s exit coming, he still understands it.

The former NXT star posted an anti-ICE message on her X account after her exit, suggesting that it was something she couldn\’t do while signed to the company. Though she has since deactivated her account, and there is no word on what the former Authority Figure is planning next.
