Chelsea Green Details Embarrassing Bad Bunny Interaction

Bad Bunny has a sense of humor.

Chelsea Green recently spoke to TMZ Sports as part of the WrestleMania press junket. She talked about things such as what are the right places to approach a wrestler in public, if Harvey Levin could survive in a tag team match in WWE and more.

During the talk, the former US Champion was also asked about celebrities who have stepped in the ring for WWE and which one of them is the most entertaining in her opinion. Chelsea Green suggested that Bad Bunny would have been in consideration for her if the Puerto Rican mega star had not embarrassed her during a backstage interaction:

“So, I would have hyped up Bad Bunny, but one time… backstage in WWE, he legit deadass looked me dead in the eyes and pretended he did not know how to speak English to me,

When I was talking to him about a movie role I had auditioned for that he was in, looked me in the eyes, pretended like he didn’t know English and then went out and cut a promo in English and I was so heartbroken and so embarrassed.”

With Bunny off the list, Green noted that both Logan Paul and Pat McAfee are very good in the ring. She picked Jelly Roll as her favorite over them, however, because she loves the music star.

Chelsea Green is not booked for a WrestleMania match this year because of a leg injury. She has been out of action since the Elimination Chamber PPV, but it’s likely that she’ll return to action after the Show of Shows.

Bad Bunny Match Discussions Ongoing, WrestleMania Singles Bout Unlikely

WWE is actively discussing a match involving Bad Bunny, but per F4WOnline, a singles bout — particularly at WrestleMania — is probably off the table. The most likely scenario would be a tag team match, potentially involving Logan Paul.

  • WrestleMania Half-Time Show: WWE\’s Super Bowl Answer?

The sixtieth edition of the Super Bowl is now in the books and, as is often the case, the game\’s halftime show has similar buzz to the game itself. While Bad Bunny\’s performance was received differently by different viewers, there\’s little question it was a newsworthy spectacle and the conversation was compounded by a prominent rival halftime broadcast.

Wrestling fans have long perceived WrestleMania as WWE\’s closest equivalent to the Super Bowl and that leads to the question of whether WWE ought to consider its own halftime show as part of the annual extravaganza. If so, what might such a show look like?

A Halftime Show Could Offer Organic Celebrity Involvement

WWE has a long history of courting celebrity involvement, and that\’s especially so throughout WrestleMania history where big names like Mr. T, Cyndi Lauper, Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather, Maria Menounos, Bad Bunny, and Donald Trump have played prominent roles, up to and including getting into the squared circle for matches.

Celebrities like Aretha Franklin, John Legend, and Joan Jett have appeared to sing \”America the Beautiful\” or play a WWE star down to the ring. A halftime show would offer an even more natural way for a major musical act to perform a full set in front of the stadium crowd.

Moreover, this kind of halftime exhibition need not be limited to musical acts alone but might, for example, integrate a promo segment akin to the Piper\’s Pits that occurred at WrestleMania 5 and 21, or perhaps a guest appearance by a standup comedian.

Halftime Could Break Up Long Shows

A signature element of WWE\’s presentation under Triple H has been scaling back the length of major shows which were growing unwieldy in the latter days of Vince McMahon\’s leadership, with WrestleMania 35 as a classic example of a show that got away from the company, stretching past midnight into the next day.

Even with greater restraint—often limiting PLEs to four or five matches—WrestleMania has tended to be the exception, with main card run times that still consistently clear three hours and that\’s not counting pre-show broadcasts.

Halftime offers a chance for fans to catch their breath and rally, visit concession stands and use the restroom. All in all, it\’s a chance for the audience to regroup, overcome wrestling fatigue that might otherwise set in, and ensure those live in the stadium and watching from home alike can bring the energy to the back half of the event.

Halftime Performances Might Attract Different Viewers

Not everyone is a football fan, but part of the tradition of Super Bowl halftime shows is their ability to hook casual or non-fans with a totally different form of entertainment.

WrestleMania has crossed a threshold such that there are casual fans who don\’t watch Raw week in and week out who will nonetheless seek out the biggest show of the year. A halftime show can offer them something else to consume besides providing WWE with opportunities for a totally different kind of social media engagement.

What Would Be The Right Halftime Attractions For WWE WrestleMania?

If one were to accept the premise of a WWE WrestleMania halftime show, the question quickly becomes which acts would fit this opportunity. Bad Bunny is a natural choice given his unique pairing of Super Bowl halftime credentials and having actually wrestled more than once for WWE and taken it quite seriously, giving performances that were well-received by the fans. Things get a little murkier after that.

While Bad Bunny himself drew polarized responses, particularly from an audience skewing toward the politically conservative who were unenthused about what he brought to the table, there are far more controversial choices out there. Despite lasting ties to WWE, acts like Kid Rock and Limp Bizkit have only aged well to a segment of the audience and bring their own baggage.

Other WWE loyalists like Snoop Dogg or Jelly Roll might strike a better balance. There\’s also the matter of drawing in major acts without meaningful ties to wrestling. While it may not be realistic at this point, if WWE could, for example, secure an act the caliber of Sabrina Carpenter or The Weeknd, they really might break down some walls in drawing an audience that wouldn\’t traditionally tune in for wrestling. (All that\’s not to mention that a celebrity with a real love for wrestling as a fan could make such an arrangement more attainable.)

For now, the idea of WrestleMania halftime shows is probably just a pipe dream. Nonetheless, when one considers how big this event has grown, pro wrestling\’s love of bringing in celebrities, and the potential to attract untapped viewer demographics there\’s a lot working in favor of the idea.

  • Cody Rhodes Reacts To Bad Bunny\’s Halftime Show

Cody Rhodes loved Bad Bunny\’s halftime show.

The Puerto Rican superstar became the first solo Spanish artist to headline the Super Bowl halftime show this year from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The performance also fuelled some debates due to the current political climate in the US.

In a brief interaction with TMZ, the WWE quarterback was asked about the halftime show as well as the rumors of Bad Bunny\’s WWE return. Cody Rhodes claimed that Prince\’s 2007 Super Bowl performance might still be his favorite, but said that Bunny\’s performance was an all-timer too:

“Oh, he killed it. So good. I hope we get him back. He did a wonderful job. He’s on top of the world right now. That show is an all-timer. Prince might still be my favorite, but that’s an all-timer.”

The former WWE Champion was also asked about a potential WrestleMania opponent for Bad Bunny, and The American Nightmare threw in the name of Logan Paul before making his exit.

The six-time Grammy-winning artist has received praise for his performance inside the squared circle in the past as well. Though he has not entered the ring since his May 2023 Backlash match with Damian Priest, so it\’s hard to say what an in-ring return would look like for the 31-year-old.

  • The Miz Says Logan Paul Is \’Stealing My Gimmick\’ and Future of WWE

Two-time WWE Grand Slam Champion The Miz recently admitted that YouTuber-turned-WWE wrestler Logan Paul is doing his \”outsider\” gimmick. The A-Lister believes Paul is doing it better than most.

During his appearance on Six Feet Under with The Undertaker, The Miz highlighted how he joined WWE from the Real World when that path was heavily criticized, compared to today when YouTubers are more easily embraced. He further jokingly added that he felt someone else was \”stealing” his gimmick and pulling it off nicely. He said:

\”When he said, \’Yeah, I\’m an outsider,\’ I was like, I wonder who the first outsider was,\” The Miz said. \”I was on the Real World coming to WWE when it was hard to do that. Now you\’re a YouTuber and we applaud it, oh, he\’s in here. But our audience won\’t. But everyone else is like, yeah. But I was like, oh man, this dude\’s stealing my gimmick. And he\’s doing a really good job of it too.\”

Fastest Learner Miz Has Ever Seen

The Miz labeled the former WWE US Champion Logan Paul the fastest learner he has ever witnessed in WWE. He said:

\”Logan trained as well. But Logan was the fastest I\’ve ever seen anyone pick up WWE in my life. I\’ve never, and I like, I know I\’ve said this before, but it still blows my mind how good he is and how good he can be. I do feel he\’s the future of this business.\”

    Bad Bunny\’s Unmatched Commitment

The Miz also praised Bad Bunny\’s dedication during the pandemic era shows at the Tampa baseball field. The former WWE IC Champion said:

\”Bad Bunny, every time I would come to the show during COVID at the baseball field in Tampa, he was there early in the ring. Then he would go sing at the Grammys, he\’d be right back in the ring. He\’d go to SNL and he would have the 24/7 title, with that title in his arm. And I was like, man, this dude just loves what we do.\”

Bad Bunny\’s commitment also extended to his own car.

\”He let us spray paint his $500,000 car, real spray paint. And it was his idea. He goes, \’No, no, you spray paint.\’ I think it was like a Bugatti.\”

Bad Bunny, who took WWE by storm, is expected to return to the company for WrestleMania 42.

    Dominik Mysterio\’s Transformation

The Miz further highlighted Dominik Mysterio\’s heel turn as another example of next-generation talent thriving.

\”Dom has a baby face now. Like, can you even see it? Like, remember he was cleanly shaven, short hair, just a smile on his face. So young. So happy to be here. Now you look at him, he\’s just Eddie Guerrero. Just like a dirt bag.\”

  • Bad Bunny WWE Return Expected Soon for WrestleMania Match

Bad Bunny is expected to return to WWE in the near future and is currently slated to have a big match at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, according to F4WOnline’s Bryan Alvarez, with the timing of his world tour schedule aligning perfectly with WWE\’s Road to WrestleMania season.

Plans for Bad Bunny’s WWE Return

On Wrestling Observer Live, Alvarez stated that Bad Bunny is expected back in WWE \”very soon, sooner rather than later,\” and that he is currently slated to have a big match in Las Vegas. The comment came in response to recent public calls from Senator Ruben Gallego for AEW President Tony Khan to sign the global music star, with Alvarez clarifying that fans shouldn\’t expect Bad Bunny to appear in AEW.

    The WrestleMania 42 Window

WrestleMania 42 is scheduled for April 18-19, 2026, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. This marks the second consecutive year WWE will hold its flagship event at the Las Vegas venue.

Bad Bunny\’s current \”Debí Tirar Más Fotos\” world tour has a significant break from March 2 through the end of May, creating a clear window where he would be available for WWE television appearances and a WrestleMania match without tour conflicts.

The timing becomes even more notable as Bad Bunny headlines the Super Bowl LIX halftime show this weekend, placing him at peak mainstream visibility just as WWE enters the final stretch of WrestleMania season.

    Bad Bunny\’s WWE Track Record

Bad Bunny has worked several high-profile matches for WWE since his initial run with the company:

He competed in a tag team match at WrestleMania during his first run with the company, made a surprise appearance in the 2022 Royal Rumble, and defeated Damian Priest in a street fight at WWE Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico.

His in-ring performances have been well-received by fans and critics, with WWE consistently presenting him as a legitimate wrestling attraction rather than a celebrity novelty act.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for updates on Bad Bunny’s WWE return.

  • US Senator Calls Bad Bunny to AEW

U.S. Senator Ruben Gallego has publicly urged AEW President Tony Khan to bring Bad Bunny into All Elite Wrestling, tagging both Khan and Bad Bunny in a social media post.

Gallego wrote, “@TonyKhan it’s time for @AEW to solidify a huge fan base. @sanbenito love wrestling, need him to make some appearances. Just no stretcher match please,” referencing Bad Bunny’s physical in-ring style.

AEW has increasingly become a home for politically engaged fans who are outspoken on issues like LGBTQ+ rights and, more recently, immigration, creating a fan culture that often overlaps with broader social movements.

In that context, the idea of Bad Bunny—a mainstream star who has worked with the more MAGA-friendly WWE, recently condemned ICE at the Grammys, and is performing the Super Bowl halftime show in a heated political climate—showing up in AEW adds an extra layer of cultural and political intrigue to Gallego’s pitch.

Bad Bunny previously delivered a widely praised San Juan Street Fight performance against Damian Priest at WWE Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico, earning strong reviews as one of WWE’s top celebrity performers.

The senator’s endorsement comes as Bad Bunny prepares to headline the Super Bowl halftime show, adding extra mainstream attention to the idea of a potential AEW crossover, but there are no public indications of formal negotiations or a WWE/AEW status change for him.

  • Ken Anderson Teases AEW Run, Eyes \’Edgier\’ Creative Freedom

Mr. Kennedy drew a unique comparison between the heel heat JBL was able to get in Italy as a diametrically opposed reaction to how Bad Bunny was received in Puerto Rico.

As he expounded upon this JBL and Bad Bunny binary of crowd reactions, Mr Kennedy said [h/t 99.9 Punk World Radio FM’s Elite Wrestle Talk],

“I have been in countries around the world with JBL, I have never experienced the type of heat he generated. The boos would make your skin rumble, it was so loud, so deafening.”

“We were in Italy one night, and I was injured. I tore my Lat earlier in the tour, so they were having me announce the main event. The main event that night was JBL vs. Mark Henry.”

“They had me announce JBL, and he started singing America the Beautiful, and he sang it terribly, completely off key, and all at once you hear the crowd start this, they were chanting almost.”

“It just got louder and louder, and they were singing their own national anthem, and the building was rumbling, it was such a cool experience.”

“It was the opposite of, you ever see when Bad Bunny came to the ring in Puerto Rico? It was the opposite of that. The heat version of that.

Mr. Kennedy open to an AEW move someday

Mr. Kennedy does not seem opposed to the idea of embarking on another big tenure in a major wrestling company after big past splashes in WWE as well as TNA. An intrigue regarding adding All Elite Wrestling to his story was expressed by Mr. Kennedy in the referenced interview above. The former multi-time TNA champion mentioned that he does still have gas in the tank and has a desire to still entertain the masses.

Mr. Kennedy also mentioned that he felt like when he entered the business as a performer, the industry largely moved out of the kind of storytelling that was emblematic of the Attitude Era. Kennedy mentioned that AEW seemed to be engaging in what he saw as edgier content and felt like that kind of creative freedom isn’t something he ever really got to tap into during his prior efforts as a professional wrestler.

Kennedy also has a role in training the likes of Julia Hart, as well as Dante and Darius Martin, with a professed desire to collaborate with them on something. It remains to be seen if we see a more macabre version of Mr. Kennedy come out with Julia Hart but the idea of Kennedy coming over to AEW would undoubtedly draw the intrigue of several fans within the wrestling world.

  • Damian Priest Hails Bad Bunny For Setting A New Standard as Celebrity Wrestler: \’Nobody Touches Him\’

WWE star Damian Priest spoke highly of Grammy Award-winning artist and celebrity wrestler Bad Bunny for his impressive accomplishments inside the squared circle.

Since making his WWE debut during the pandemic, the Puerto Rican rapper and singer has enjoyed one of the most remarkable runs in the company. Speaking on MLB Central, \’The Archer of Infamy\’ praised Bad Bunny for his performances in the ring. Damian Priest emphasized that while many celebrities come to WWE to promote their movies or music, Bad Bunny has \”set a new standard.\”

Priest also expressed his surprise at seeing Bunny risk everything in a brutal Street Fight in front of the San Juan crowd, especially considering his accomplishments outside the ring. Damian Priest was visibly impressed by Bunny\’s passion for the sport. The former World Champion said:

\”So celebrities come and go all the time in our business. You know, either you want to promote a song, a movie, whatever. Bad Bunny took it differently because he\’s a big fan. He put in the work training and everything and for me, a celebrity coming in and doing this style of match, a street fight and it was Backlash. So it\’s anniversary time. It\’s incredible to see somebody willing to risk, you know, he has a career like that. He\’s obviously very successful at… But for his fans, for our fans and he showed us respect and everything.\”

\”To me, when it comes to celebrities, nobody touches him. He set a new standard. If anything, for celebrities to come in and want to be a part of our world, you gotta look at what Bad Bunny was willing to do — and willing to take.\”

Bad Bunny has competed in a handful of matches in WWE, but his most memorable performance against Damian Priest at WWE Backlash 2023 set a new benchmark for celebrity wrestlers. It marked the first time the music superstar competed in a singles match, and he completely stole the show.

Bad Bunny previously held the now-defunct 24/7 Championship during his WWE tenure. He also partnered with Damian Priest at WrestleMania 37 and has competed in the men\’s Royal Rumble match.

Damian Priest is scheduled to compete at this year\’s WWE Backlash where he will face Drew McIntyre, LA Knight, and Jacob Fatu in a fatal four-way match for the United States Championship.

  • The Miz Details Bad Bunny\’s Transformation into WWE\’s Most Unexpected Star

By wrestling standards, celebrity appearances often disappoint. But when global music superstar Bad Bunny stepped into the ring at WrestleMania 37, something extraordinary happened. In a revealing interview with Peter Rosenberg and co-host Stat Guy Greg on Rosenberg Wrestling, The Miz details the surprising journey from skepticism to standing ovation.

    The Secret Training Sessions

While Bad Bunny was officially training with WWE coaches, The Miz took matters into his own hands to test the musician\’s true abilities:

\”I remember the first time I got in there with him, I didn\’t call anything. I literally just got in, locked up, and just started having a match with him to see where he was… And honestly, he was training so hard before this. And I was like, I just need to get in there. And I probably beat him up. Not beat him up, but like put some heat to him, you know? And I was like, \’Oh, this guy\’s going to be able to do something.\’ And then he kept training and kept training and kept giving ideas that were like not dumb ideas… You could tell he was a fan and that he knew psychology.\”

What impressed The Miz most wasn\’t just Bad Bunny\’s athletic ability, but his understanding of wrestling fundamentals – something rare among celebrity performers.

    Behind the Rainy WrestleMania Moment

What fans didn\’t see was the weather crisis happening behind the scenes. With rain threatening the outdoor WrestleMania performance, The Miz personally intervened:

\”It was raining if you remember… while Bad Bunny was coming out, I had everyone on the outside with towels scrubbing down where Morrison was going to do this maneuver. Him and Bunny were going to do this maneuver \’cuz that\’s a dangerous move, especially in the rain… No one sees it, but I was literally I had a towel and I was in the ring literally scrubbing the ropes because I knew we were going to be utilizing jumping off the ropes. You slip, you fall, you\’re done.\”

    The Bugatti That Proved Commitment

When The Miz realized Bad Bunny allowed WWE to damage his actual Bugatti for the storyline, he knew the musician was fully committed:

\”We made fun of him. We tore apart his Bugatti, which was a real Bugatti, and that was real paint. Like, that car is really expensive. And Bunny let us do it. Like, I was shocked. I was like, \’Oh my god, this guy is in.\’\”

    From Skepticism to Ovation

Despite preparing for rejection from wrestling\’s notoriously critical fanbase, The Miz witnessed something remarkable during Bad Bunny\’s entrance:

\”I was literally going through my brain trying to figure out, \’Okay, if this happens, we come out, we do our rap… We\’re doing this thing.\’ And then when he made his entrance at Mania, I don\’t know if you heard it, but oh my god, it was an eruption of cheers. It wasn\’t boos, it was cheers. They wanted to see him. They were yearning to see him. I was like, \’This is amazing that you couldn\’t ask for a better entrance and a better crowd, live crowd reaction.\’\”

For The Miz, Bad Bunny\’s ultimate validation came in an unexpected compliment:

\”The best compliment that we got, John and I, Morrison and I got, were that he said that he watches that match back more than he watches any concert he\’s ever done. And I was like, \’Wow, that\’s pretty great.\’\”

    Bad Bunny\’s WWE Career

Bad Bunny has wrestled in 3 official WWE matches. The global music star trained seriously at the WWE Performance Center and is credited with raising the bar for celebrity involvement in WWE.

    • WrestleMania 37 (April 2021): Made his in-ring debut, teaming with Damian Priest to defeat The Miz & John Morrison in a tag match. His performance received critical acclaim for its athleticism and commitment.
    • Royal Rumble 2022: Entered the 30-man Royal Rumble match, eliminated two wrestlers, and was among the final five before being eliminated by Brock Lesnar.
    • Backlash 2023: Faced Damian Priest in a San Juan Street Fight in Puerto Rico, winning in front of his home crowd.

Bad Bunny is also a former champion in WWE. He captured the WWE 24/7 Championship on Raw in February 2021 (not a traditional match), held the title for 28 days, and later relinquished it.

  • Logan Paul: Bad Bunny\’s A Celebrity Wrestler, I Am A Wrestler

Bad Bunny may be considered as the greatest celebrity wrestler of all time, but Logan Paul believes he\’s in a whole different category to the Grammy Award-winner. In his latest vlog, Paul responded to a recent comment by Bunny, who called himself the greatest celebrity wrestler ever.

\”People commenting \’Logan Paul this, Logan Paul that\’…  I actually think he\’s right. Bad Bunny is a fantastic celebrity wrestler. Keyword: Celebrity. I am a wrestler. Born, raised, and bred.\”

Bunny and Paul have yet to share the ring. On his YouTube channel, the former U.S. Champion was ready to throw down the challenge to Bad Bunny.

\”If he ever wants to run it, okay, Mr. Bunny. Mavericks like me, eat bunnies like you for breakfast.\”

Bunny impressed fans in his three matches for WWE, the most recent of which being at the Backlash 2023 Premium Live Event against former ally Damian Priest. Paul has competed 15 times for WWE and boasts a 7-8 win/loss record.

Bad Bunny on WWE Dreams, Puerto Rican Pride, and the Perfect Entrance Song

Logan Paul will be part of this weekend’s Men’s Royal Rumble match and hopes to punch his ticket to WrestleMania 41. On Raw, Paul confronted Seth Rollins and GUNTHER, teasing a future in the World Heavyweight Championship picture. It remains to be seen if Logan Paul and Bad Bunny ever square off in the ring, as The Maverick believes he\’s on a completely different level to the Puerto Rican star.

  • Bad Bunny on WWE Dreams, Puerto Rican Pride, and the Perfect Entrance Song

Global music icon and Grammy winner Bad Bunny is known for breaking boundaries in both music and entertainment. On a recent episode of Hot Ones, the Puerto Rican superstar sat down with Sean Evans to tackle spicy wings while sharing captivating insights into his WWE journey, cultural representation, and the unforgettable moments that defined his wrestling appearances.

From his passion for the squared circle to his pride in showcasing Puerto Rican culture on a global stage, Bad Bunny’s WWE appearances are far more than celebrity cameos—they’re a love letter to his heritage and a testament to his dedication.

    The Perfect WWE Entrance

One of the standout moments of Bad Bunny’s WWE career was his electrifying entrance at Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico, where he walked out to his hit song “Chambea.” Bunny revealed that he had envisioned using the track for years.

“Since the first time that I dreamed of being in WWE, I always knew that [‘Chambea’] was the perfect song,” he explained. “When they went to Puerto Rico, I said everyone in Puerto Rico knows this song, and it’s going to be like shaking the stadium.”

The crowd’s thunderous reaction during his San Juan Street Fight entrance cemented the moment as one of the most memorable of his career. “That entrance was one of the best moments of my life. I was like, wow, it was a beautiful moment.”

Learning the Ropes and Iconic WWE Moments

Bad Bunny’s dedication to his WWE appearances goes far beyond entrances. He committed to intense training to ensure his in-ring performances were nothing short of spectacular. One of his most iconic moments came at WrestleMania 37, where he executed a flawless Canadian Destroyer, which was later dubbed the “Bunny Destroyer.”

“That was a John Morrison idea,” Bunny said. “He was like, ‘You should do the Canadian Destroyer, and we’ll call it the Bunny Destroyer.’ We practiced it, and I really learned a lot from him, Damian Priest, and all the guys coaching me.”

Not everything about his WWE experience came easy, though. Bunny recalled a painful initiation courtesy of Damian Priest during training.

“Damian Priest hit me with the kendo stick. I always heard people say, ‘Oh, the kendo stick doesn’t hurt.’ That hurt. Like, a lot,” he laughed.

Sean Evans couldn’t resist praising Bad Bunny’s wrestling skills, declaring him “the best celebrity wrestler ever in WWE.” Bunny modestly replied, “That’s your opinion?” to which Evans insisted, “No, it’s a fact.” Bunny cheekily agreed, “I think that’s true.”

Puerto Rican Pride and WWE’s Global Stage

    \"Bad

For Bad Bunny, stepping into the WWE ring wasn’t just about fulfilling a childhood dream—it was also an opportunity to represent Puerto Rican culture.

“It’s not only about me. It’s about every one of us. It feels like I’m bringing a little bit of Puerto Rico to all these places,” he said.

His use of “Chambea” as an entrance track and his celebration of Puerto Rican pride during WWE appearances resonated deeply with fans worldwide. “The energy, the melody—it’s crazy,” Bunny explained. “Everyone in Puerto Rico knows this song. I knew it was going to shake the stadium.”

Reflecting on his WWE journey, Bunny expressed gratitude for the platform to showcase his heritage to a global audience.

“That entrance… was one of the best moments of my life,” he said.

  • Fact Check: WWE Backlash 2025 is Not Coming to Mexico

Despite our earlier report, WWE will not be bringing Backlash to Mexico in 2025. According to sources in WWE (first reported by PWInsider), Bad Bunny was mistaken in his comments to Rolling Stone.

While WWE is not planning Backlash in Mexico, the company may host a Premium Live Event (PLE) in the country at some point in the future. Speaking to Rolling Stone, Grammy Award-winning artist Bad Bunny reflected on his experience competing at the 2023 Backlash event in Puerto Rico and speculated that a future event could take place in Mexico.

\”We were there until we could bring WWE to Puerto Rico. And man, I actually feel like it was good for them and for everyone, because I saw that last year Backlash was in France, now it’s going to Mexico. They saw that it worked.\”

His information apparently came from this debunked tweet from @WrestleVotes.

    https://media.sescoops.com/uploads/2025/01/\"https://media.sescoops.com/uploads/2025/01/\"

Although Bad Bunny’s comments sparked excitement among fans, WWE has not announced any plans for Backlash in Mexico. However, the idea of a PLE in the country is not new. In May of last year, Rey Mysterio expressed his desire for a PLE inside the historic Estadio Azteca. Similarly, in July, Cody Rhodes told fans at a Monterrey live event that he was hoping to bring a major WWE show to the country.

    WWE’s Global Expansion

As WWE continues to expand its global presence, hosting events in Mexico would fit into its strategy of international growth. Since 2022, the company has staged Premium Live Events in England, Scotland, Wales, France, Germany, Canada, and Australia. WWE is also preparing for its Road to WrestleMania tour, which will take its Superstars across Europe.

While Backlash 2025 will not take place in Mexico, fans can remain optimistic about the possibility of a future PLE in a country with a rich wrestling tradition. Stay tuned to SEScoops for updates on WWE’s international events and potential plans for Mexico.

  • Damian Priest Recalls The Moment When He Almost Broke His Character During WWE Show

Damian Priest recently shed light on the moment when he struggled to stay in character during last year\’s WWE Backlash Premium Live Event.

Last year\’s Backlash PLE took place in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The PLE featured a highly-aniticipated clash between Damian Priest and the multi-time Grammy Award-winning singer Bad Bunny. \’The Archer of Infamy\’ has told Squared Circle Pit that he was overwhelmed with the electric atmosphere at the venue when Bad Bunny came out.

He said that he had experience of floor shaking while being in the crowd but that night with Bunny\’s entrance, he could \”feel the tremble\” while being inside the ring. The reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion admitted that was one of the wildest things he’s ever witnessed and had to remind himself to stay in character. He said:

\”Yeah, that’s exactly what happened (almost slipped out of character during Bad Bunny’s WWE Backlash entrance). I had to be like, hey, cut it out. Stay in it, stay in it… I’ve been in the crowd where you could feel the floor shaking a little bit and whatnot but being in the ring, you don’t really feel the tremble. You don’t really feel that. But I felt it that night. That was wild, in his entrance and I got goosebumps while I was in the ring waiting for him and then but I had to keep a straight face, you know? Angry or whatever but, that was one of the wildest things I had ever seen.\”

At Backlash 2023, Bad Bunny came out to his song “Chambea.” As soon as he showed up, the crowd went insane and created one of the greatest entrances in WWE history. \’Benito\’ even hyped up the fans more when he pulled a tarp off a shopping cart which had weapons hidden in it.

Bad Bunny and Damian Priest put on an epic match at the show. The match even featured the return of Carlito and Savio Vega. In the final moments of the match, Bad Bunny used a steel chair on Priest and went on to hit the Canadian Destroyer to secure the pinfall victory.

Bad Bunny had a great experience but felt he was going to die following show. Read more below:

  • The Rock & Bad Bunny Link Up For 96th Academy Awards

The Rock is back in WWE as a big-time heel, but he was all smiles at the Oscar Awards on Sunday night. The People\’s Champion also had a chance to rub elbows with another WWE Superstar that he hadn\’t had a chance to meet yet.

Bad Bunny is a bona fide WWE Superstar at this point, but he is just very busy with his career as a global celebrity and rapper. He was on hand at the Academy Awards, and he also shared the stage with The Rock.

    The Rock and Bad Bunny

The presence of wrestling extends far beyond the confines of the ring, permeating various aspects of entertainment and pop culture. This fact was more than proven at the 96th Academy Awards on March 10, where Dwayne \”The Rock\” Johnson and Bad Bunny appeared together. They presented the Best International Film at the awards.

    https://twitter.com/silkdurag/status/1766989424682848587

Despite their distinct career paths in acting and music, both individuals have left their mark on the world of professional wrestling. The Rock is obviously known as one of the most iconic Superstars in WWE history. Similarly, Bad Bunny, known for his chart-topping hits and persona in the music industry, has made waves in the wrestling world, including appearances at WrestleMania and a San Juan Street Fight at WWE Backlash 2023.

John Cena Bears All At Oscars

John Cena also had quite a time at the 96th Academy Awards. He showed up without any clothes on and had a nude streaker bit on stage.

During the ceremony, The Rock encountered John Cena backstage, coinciding with Cena\’s appearance as he prepared to present the award for Best Costume Design.

SEScoops will have continued coverage of this story, and so much more in the pro wrestling world and beyond. Keep checking back for more stories and updates.

  • WWE\’s The Rock & Bad Bunny Among 2024 Academy Award Presenters

This group adds to the previously announced list of presenters which includes Jamie Lee Curtis, Brendan Fraser, Matthew McConaughey, Al Pacino, Zendaya, Sam Rockwell, and Michelle Yeoh, among others.

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer led this year’s nominations with 13 nods, followed by Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things with 11, Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon with 10 and Greta Gerwig’s Barbie with eight. The ceremony will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and take place on March 10 at 7 pm ET at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles.

    Bad Bunny in WWE

Bad Bunny debuted in WWE in 2021 and immediately wowed fans with his in-ring ability. After competing at WrestleMania 37, Bunny was equally impressed in the 2022 Men\’s Royal Rumble match. At Backlash 2023, the Grammy Award-winning artist competed in his first singles match and defeated Damien Priest in the San Juan Street Fight.

    What\’s Next for The Rock?

The Rock is back in WWE as a heel and has been confirmed as the newest member of The Bloodline. The Great One has vowed that he will prevent Cody Rhodes from finishing his story at WrestleMania. • WWE 2K24: Bad Bunny & More Join Post Malone as Playable Characters In Upcoming Game

WWE 2K24 is coming soon, and fans are getting a lot more information. Now, it is confirmed that full-time megastar and part-time WWE Superstar Bad Bunny will make the game.

New Confirmed Characters In WWE 2K24

Several new additions have been revealed for WWE 2K24. These names are only a fraction of the playable characters that will be in the new game.

On February 19, WWE Games\’ Twitter/X page unveiled Alba Fyre, Thea Hail, Bad Bunny, Jey Uso, Bronson Reed, Maxxine Dupri, Isla Dawn, and Tegan Nox as confirmed members of the WWE 2K24 roster. The announcement included a snapshot of Fyre\’s character model.

In addition to these new characters, it was previously announced that Post Malone would also be featured as a playable character in WWE 2K24. Malone was heavily involved in the soundtrack, and he also has two songs in the game.

This means that fans will be able to book Bad Bunny vs Post Malone matches, and we can\’t wait for those viral videos. On a semi-related note, Logan Paul has a 90 rating, so this game could be interesting.

    Changes to WWE 2K24

2k is making efforts to remove as much of certain people as they possibly can from the upcoming game. Vince McMahon\’s resignation, which was caused by a string of allegations in Janel Grant\’s lawsuit against himself, WWE, and John Laurinaitis, has caused many alterations to WWE\’s product in recent memory.

PW Insider reported that Brock Lesnar will not be totally removed from the game, but the 2k team has obviously made efforts to remove him from advertising. The Beast Incarnate was also removed from the Forty Years of WrestleMania cover after his name was connected to heinous allegations in Janel Grant\’s blockbuster lawsuit.

    WWE 2K24 Release Date

The Deluxe Edition of WWE 2K24 will be digitally released worldwide, with physical availability in the US and select territories, on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. The Standard Edition and Standard Cross-Gen Digital Edition of WWE 2K24 will be accessible globally on Friday, March 8, 2024.

  • GUNTHER Weighs Up The Pros & Cons Of Celebrity Wrestling Matches

Are matches involving celebrities a good or bad thing for the world of professional wrestling?

While other promotions do use the occasional outside name, nobody does it quite like WWE, as the promotion often uses celebrities around WrestleMania season.

In recent years, Bad Bunny, Johnny Knoxville, and Logan Paul (who has since signed with WWE) have all competed at the Showcase of the Immortals.

    Pros and Cons

To many, celebrities stepping into the ring is an inherently bad thing, as it takes away from a full-time member of the roster.

Speaking on Superstar Crossover, GUNTHER noted that he understands the frustration from stars who don’t get to wrestle on the card.

\”Somebody that wrestles all year round, and then comes WrestleMania, and it’s somebody who is always working and it’s their drive of ‘I want to be in the big spectacle,’ and some spots won’t be available because we have celebrities come in.\”

    GUNTHER.

The reigning Intercontinental Champion added though that these celebrities do make the effort, and that they bring a lot of good attention to WWE.

“It helps our business in general to generate way more attention. The only thing I think is important is, whoever comes in from the outside and takes part in what we do, they have to have a passion for it and has to take it as serious to be part of our product.\”

    GUNTHER.

The Imperium leader name-dropped Logan Paul and Bad Bunny as two key examples of the benefit of celebrities stepping in the ring.

GUNTHER went so far as to claim that Paul (who has competed four times for WWE,) is taking risks he would be hesitant to take himself.

    GUNTHER at WrestleMania

The reigning Intercontinental Champion does not have to worry about losing his spot at WrestleMania 39, which will be his first WrestleMania.

On tonight\’s SmackDown, a five-way match will determine the Austrian\’s challenger for WrestleMania.

The match will consist of Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Karrion Kross, LA Knight, and Xavier Woods, who is replacing the injured Kofi Kingston.

  • Bad Bunny to Host WWE Backlash from Puerto Rico on May 6

WWE announced today that Bad Bunny will host Backlash on Saturday, May 6, live from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Bad Bunny, who hails from Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, expressed his excitement about the event, stating, “In 2005 when I was a kid, I wasn’t able to attend New Year’s Revolution at el Coliseo. Finally, 18 years later WWE returns to the island with a massive event and this time I won’t miss it.”

WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque also expressed his excitement about bringing the event to San Juan, saying, “We’re excited to bring Backlash to San Juan as the demand for WWE premium live events outside of the continental United States continues to grow. Bad Bunny is one of the world’s most-popular entertainers and nowhere is that more evident than in his native Puerto Rico.”

Bad Bunny first appeared in WWE in January 2021 at the Royal Rumble. He later had his biggest match at WrestleMania 37 in April, where he teamed up with Damian Priest to defeat The Miz and John Morrison in a tag team match. Bunny also returned to the 2022 Royal Rumble, where he participated in the men’s Royal Rumble.

Backlash is the first WWE premium live event to take place in Puerto Rico since January 2005. This was New Year\’s Revolution, which took place at the same arena where Backlash is scheduled to take place. It was also WWE’s first PPV event in Puerto Rico and Latin America.

The wrestling giant is also going to hold its King & Queen of the Ring in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on May 27, with London, England serving as the location for July 1’s Money in the Bank event.

  • John Morrison On Coolest Thing About Bad Bunny Match At WrestleMania 37

Competing in a WrestleMania match is always a special moment for any wrestling talent. John Morrison got to experience one such moment during his most recent WWE run. Morrison teamed up with The Miz to face Bad Bunny and Damian Priest at night 1 of WrestleMania 37. Per the former WWE star, he was actually impressed by the commitment the music star showed to the art of professional wrestling.

The former IC champion recently had an interview with Denise Salcedo. He was asked what was the coolest thing about sharing the ring with Bunny. Just like The Miz, John also praised the Grammy-winning artist for the work he put in:

\”I think the amount of respect he had for the art of professional wrestling. The amount of passion that he had for doing really well. It was really cool to see someone of his star meter [or] star value. Just the number one recording artist in the world, be a wrestling fan and decide, \’I want to do this, but if I do do it, I don\’t want to do a bad job. I want to do an amazing job and that\’s going to take a lot of work.\’

He put that amount of work into the performing well at the match we had at WrestleMania. I got to see that and realize, \’You know what? This is exactly why this dude is successful. He\’s very smart. He knows incremental work leads to incremental improvement. He doesn\’t mess around and he takes doing his job very seriously.\’ Whether that\’s wrestling or music, but he doesn\’t necessarily take himself seriously. He\’s down to joke around and have a good time. He\’s a very nice guy.\”

\’He Wanted to Do Something Cool\’: John Morrison

Bad Bunny showing the WWE universe he came to WRASSLE with this Canadian destroyer outta nowhere! ? pic.twitter.com/PkHRWJU0fR

    — ???KammieDee ??? (@KAMMEDEE) December 30, 2021

One of the pleasant surprises of this match was when Bad Bunny busted out a Canadian destroyer on John Morrison. Speaking about it, the wrestling star remembered how it was raining on the day of the actual show. He revealed that they had to fight to keep that spot in that match:

\”I had to fight for that. A lot of people did not think that we should do that. [They were] worried about my safety. I was like \’My safety? come on\’. He wanted to do something cool. I suggested that. He was a little nervous until we did it a few times. I think then he was stoked about the possibilities. Then when it was raining again on the day, we had to convince people that it\’s fine in the rain. The rain actually would make a lot of things more dangerous, but not that probably.\”

  • WWE Represented at The GRAMMYs

The 65th Annual GRAMMYs ceremony took place on Sunday night and WWE was represented twice in the first 15 minutes.

The show kicked off with a performance from the most streamed artist and former 24/7 Champion, Bad Bunny.

Later in the show, Bad Bunny won a GRAMMY for Best Música Urbana album for \”Un Verano Sin Ti.\”

The Rock Not at Survivor Series, Seen at The GRAMMYs

Dwayne \”The Rock\” Johnson may not have been at Survivor Series, but he made time for The GRAMMYs. Host Trevor Noah was doing a bit where he read off facts about some of the attendees.

One of those artists was Adele, who wanted to meet Johnson. Noah told Adele that Johnson was also a fan of hers. While he didn\’t have Johnson, he did have \”The Rock\”. He came out to meet Adele right then.

The Rock also presented at the GRAMMYs for \”Best Pop Solo Performance\”. His \”new best friend\” Adele won for \”Easy on Me\”.

One of these men has done a Destroyer at WrestleMania and the other won\’t face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39.

  • Triple H Meets with Former Champion in Los Angeles (Photo)

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H met former 24/7 Champion Bad Bunny for lunch today in Los Angeles.

Bad Bunny first appeared in WWE at Royal Rumble 2021 and performed his song \”Booker T\”, while the two-time Hall of Famer was standing on the entrance ramp with him.

He formed a tag team with Damian Priest and they defeated The Miz and John Morrison at Night 1 of WrestleMania 37. Bad Bunny captured the WWE 24/7 Championship from Akira Tozawa on the February 15th edition of the red brand.

He relinquished the title to R-Truth 28 days later in exchange for Stone Cold memorabilia. The 24/7 Championship has since been thrown in the trash by Nikki Cross and officially retired. Bad Bunny was impressive in the ring during his short time with the company and it will be interesting to see if he returns down the line.

The Game took to Twitter today and shared a photo with the popular musician. Triple H noted that Bad Bunny is so famous that he can just fly in for a lunch and leave.

@sanbenito is such a big star that when he drops in to have lunch… he just lands his plane in downtown L.A., eats and then takes off… #RockStarLife

Speaking at the Clash at the Castle press conference following the premium live event, Triple H noted that he was going to have a conversation with Bad Bunny very soon.

A little bit of a spoiler. He and I are gonna have a conversation very, very soon. It’s already scheduled. We’re gonna go and see what’s available. [He’s The] biggest music star in the world. So let’s go.

  • Damian Priest on Rey Mysterio\’s Influence: \”I’m Still Learning a Lot From Him.\”

When WWE talent transitions from developmental (NXT) to the main roster, there\’s always the issue of how much of their act will be changed. There is the old adage, \”If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.\” When talking about the creative side of pro wrestling, this adage isn\’t always followed.

Damien Priest is one of the lucky performers who did not skip a beat after leaving NXT. His success in WWE comes down to timing, but also making the most of an opportunity. The Bad Bunny mainstream rub certainly helped. At the same time, the two’s alliance felt far deeper than your typical celebrity involvement. Priest was entrusted with helping one of the biggest music stars in the world succeed in the ring. The imposing Raw superstar opened eyes and turned heads, showing what he could do when given the ball.

The former United States champion continues to prove himself as a pillar of Judgment Day. Among his biggest tests comes in a marquee match on Raw against rival Edge from his hometown of Toronto.

Over SummerSlam weekend I had the chance to sit down with Priest to reflect on some of his biggest recent moments, the impact Bad Bunny made, and Judgment Day’s future.

    Rey Mysterio\’s Influence

You were part of Rey Mysterio’s big 20th anniversary in WWE live from Madison Square Garden. What did that night mean to you as a fan and New Yorker?

Damian Priest: \”Obviously, we’re feuding, but realistically, when I go out, the main thing I get told is \’Thank you\’ for representing. There isn’t any of that without Rey Mysterio. He was someone who was looked at as somebody who shouldn’t have achieved the success he has. Forget his size. Just being Latino. That meant a lot. I remember growing up watching him, so it was meaningful. Now I’m in that role of also someone representing our culture.

I’m still learning a lot from him. The way he treats people and tries to enhance representation. It was a big deal. Then it’s The Garden, so many things. Talk about the perfect place and time. It became, \’Man, I just worked Rey Mysterio in Madison Square Garden on the night he was celebrating his 20th anniversary with WWE.\’ That was just wild to me.\”

    Judgment Day

    \"The
    (via WWE)

It seemed things were really picking up with Edge leading Judgment Day. How did you react to this change of guard?

Damian Priest: \”Our idea is still the same. With Rhea Ripley healthy, we’re excited. We’re all giddy in the back talking about the chaos we’re going to cause. Even without the cameras on, we’re dangerous. The three of us are dangerous together. We’ve been looking forward to this. That’s the idea. We were all fine on our own and as singles competitors, but this gives us a different look. A different vibe, and opportunity. Growing up I’ve always wanted to be in a faction. I was a big faction guy. The nWo, DX, Four Horsemen, Evolution. So many groups I was a fan of.

To be a part of one and the idea there is no leader. We support each other. Whoever a particular moment is about, we’re going to support that person in the front. It’s all the same. It’s a revolving door of leadership. As long as we maintain that mentality, I think now the fans are really going to see something special. We haven’t really been able to do it yet, but we’re just getting started. The future is going to be really cool for us and for the fans.

    Working with Bad Bunny

    \"\"

Your profile really grew alongside Bad Bunny. You can see he really put in the work. Do you think he helped change the overall perception when celebrities decide they want to wrestle? That it’s more than a publicity stunt.

Damian Priest: \”We’ve had celebrities before, but I think he is an example of what someone from a different world can do in our world. You don\’t have to come in, promote something and leave. You can earn the respect of the fans and the talent. You can create something special for yourself, your fanbase, and us working together.

I haven’t been here the longest, so I can’t speak on celebrities who have been here before, but what he did was unprecedented in the way he treated us and this business. The respect he showed everyone. When you have guys like Randy Orton going up to him saying, “Hey, thanks for showing us respect. Thanks for doing this. You are one of the boys.” I was there and felt emotion for Bad Bunny.

That’s amazing when you have someone of that caliber saying that to you. That’s awesome. Now you got guys like Logan Paul signing a contract. These guys are not coming in for just a one-off or for a joke or laugh. They are taking this seriously. Bad Bunny may have changed the narrative about how celebrities should treat us and how the company should accept celebrities coming in. Not just opening the doors to anybody. Earn it. He may have changed a little bit of that culture.\”
