  • AEW Star Claims WWE Gimmick Was Originally Offered To Him

A former WWE star has revealed some interesting details regarding a current gimmick.

Blake Christian, who is signed to AEW, had a brief run with the Endeavor-owned promotion back in 2021. He wrestled under the ring name Trey Baxter during his 9-month tenure and made numerous TV appearances before his release.

One such TV appearance saw him teasing becoming a superhero in a backstage segment, but the idea never came to fruition.

Christian provided some more details on the whole thing during a recent interview with In The Weeds podcast. He revealed that the officials talked about the superhero character on more than one occasion, but the idea never became a reality as long as he was in the promotion:

“They approached me when I first went and they were like, ‘We want this type of character.’ I’m open-minded for anything.

Then, it didn’t happen. When 2.0 came around they were like, ‘We’re going to do it now. This is a perfect character for this show.’ I came up with a suit design and a name. It just didn’t happen. Well, it did happen, but it didn’t happen with me,”

I\’m Happy To See It: Blake Christian

Only months after Blake Christian\’s WWE release in November 2021, the company debuted the character of Axiom. Played by Spanish star A-Kid, the masked star made his first appearance in July 2022. It quickly became a fan favorite and went on to have a successful NXT run.

When asked if it was the same gimmick he was offered, the 27-year-old confirmed the story. Christian claimed that he was the one who came up with the gear for the character and praised Kid\’s work with it:

“I was supposed to be, yes. I came up with all the stuff. I think the person they gave it to is great and he’s done a great job, maybe even better than I could have done. I’m happy to see it still alive and doing as well as it’s doing.”

Axiom formed a tag team with Nathan Frazer in late 2023. The duo went on to have two reigns with the NXT tag titles before being called up to SmackDown earlier this year. Blake Christian on the other hand, signed with AEW in early 2022 but he is yet to win any championships in the company.

  • Fraxiom Reflects On WWE Call-Up After SmackDown Win

The tag team Fraxiom is now officially part of the SmackDown roster, and they made a strong first impression with a victory over Los Garza on the April 25 episode. In a backstage interview following the match, Nathan Frazer was clearly overwhelmed with emotion as he tried to describe the moment.

\”I\’m so proud to be part of the SmackDown roster, and I\’m even more proud to be doing it with my best amigo here.\”

Axiom echoed Frazer’s excitement, reflecting on what the debut meant for them both—especially coming just days after they lost the NXT Tag Team Championships at NXT Stand & Deliver.

\”Tonight was the night for me. Tonight was the night for us. Our dreams came true tonight.\”

Though losing their titles was a tough pill to swallow, the call-up to SmackDown capped off a monumental week for Fraxiom. Despite the bittersweet timing, they knew the opportunity was too good to pass up as Frazer explained:

“When the opportunity came, we were like, ‘We’ll take it! Right now, we’ll take it!’”

Now, Fraxiom can set their sights on the WWE Tag Team Championships, currently held by the Street Profits. But after Ford and Dawkins retained in a brutal TLC match, it\’s clear that taking the gold will prove to be no easy feat for SmackDown\’s newest tag team.

  • Axiom Shares Mixed Feelings After WWE SmackDown In Native Spain

On the March 14, edition of WWE SmackDown, NXT Tag Team Champion Axiom was able to compete in his native Spain against World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER. In a WWE Digital Exclusive, Axiom admitted to having mixed feelings about the match and focused on the negatives first.

\”I feel like I let my entire family down, I feel like I let all my friends down. I feel like I let my tag team partner down tonight.\”

Axiom\’s tag-team partner Nathan Frazer said that he was proud of Axiom, no matter the loss, but would\’ve liked an invite to be at ringside. Axiom then explained that, despite the loss, he felt a lot of positives on SmackDown.

\”I felt loved. Tonight, I felt hope, hope that one day, I will step back in that ring, and I will claim that championship, that one day, I’ll step back in that ring, and I will defeat GUNTHER.\”

Losing to GUNTHER is the latest setback for Axiom and comes after he and Nathan Frazer lost to The Hardyz at WWE NXT Roadblock. While this week may have been \’mixed\’ for Axiom, the Spanish Superstar is ready to use this show as motivation for a bigger, brighter future in WWE.

  • NXT Champion Makes Surprise Indie Appearance In Spain Ahead of SmackDown

A couple of interesting WWE names were in attendance for a Lucha Libre Rebelión event in Spain ahead of the upcoming SmackDown episode.

WWE will be officially kicking off their WrestleMania season European tour with this week\’s episode of the Blue Branded show from Olimpic Arena in Barcelona, Spain.

Along with main roster stars, NXT\’s Axiom also seems to have made the trip. He made a surprise appearance at the local indie promotion on Thursday. The NXT star wasn\’t the only name who was in the building, as Kevin Owens was also spotted in the crowd, enjoying the action:

Born in Madrid, Spain, Axiom currently holds the NXT Tag Team Championship with Nathan Frazer. He is the first Spaniard to compete and win a title in the company.

Before joining the Endeavor-owned promotion in 2019, the high-flying star wrestled for various promotions in American and European independent circuits under the ring name A-Kid. This included indie companies in Spain as well.

This latest appearance from the NXT star makes Friday\’s SmackDown even more interesting. WWE bringing him along for the tour suggests that he could be planned for an appearance at the show emanating from his home country tomorrow.

Whether or not Axiom actually makes an appearance on the show will only be revealed tomorrow, but the possibility does make the show more exciting for the local fans.

  • The Hardys Set Sights On NXT Tag Titles After Genesis Win

TNA Wrestling delivered with its Genesis 2025, which saw plenty of notable names appear from WWE NXT as part of a multi-year partnership. Nathan Frazer and Axiom were among those who \’crossed the line\’ and fans could soon see them share the ring with The Hardys.

During Genesis, it was announced that Fraxiom will defend their NXT Tag Team Titles against The Rascalz on Thursday’s live episode of TNA Impact. If Fraxiom retains their titles, The Hardys appear eager to step up as their next challengers. In an online promo, Matt Hardy shared that he and Jeff, already TNA\’s World Tag Team Champions, are coming from Fraxiom.

“The Hardys, we are forever. Fraxiom, I noticed you were out there tonight. You’ve got a couple of titles too. We’d love to go on another expedition of gold. So maybe we’ll see you around.”

Throughout their storied career, The Hardys have captured numerous tag team championships across the pro wrestling world. Between WWE, TNA, and Ring of Honor, Matt and Jeff are 13-time World Tag Team Champions, in addition to holding titles from smaller promotions. Fraxiom are in their second reign as NXT Tag Team Champions, and their efforts with the gold earned the pair the \’Tag Team Of the Year\’ award during the recent NXT End Of Year Awards.

The Hardys are considered one of the greatest tag teams of all time, but the NXT Tag Team Titles remain a prize they have yet to claim. With both Matt and Jeff having discussed possibly wrestling in a WWE ring again as part of the TNA partnership, fans are excited to see the brothers potentially holding the NXT Tag Team Championships.

  • WWE NXT\’s Cora Jade, Fraxiom & More Appear At TNA Genesis

In the days leading up to TNA Genesis 2025, it was teased that the show would see involvement from WWE NXT as part of a multi-year partnership between the two sides. This certainly proved to be the case with multiple names from the silver brand appearing in Garland, Texas.

Before the show, Arianna Grace served in her role as the offical liasion between WWE NXT and TNA Wrestling and brought out Ashante \’Thee Adonis. The NXT Superstar issued an open challenge to the TNA roster, which was answered by Jake Something. Despite a valiant effort by Adonis, it was Something who got the win.

During the show, TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardyz put their titles on the line against The Rascalz. During the match, NXT Tag Team Champions Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom) arrived to get a better look at the action. Things turned ugly when The Rascalz attacked Fraxiom, but the match would end with Jeff Hardy getting the pin over Trey Miguel to retain.

In the brutal Clockwork Orange match, Masha Slamovich retained her TNA Knockouts World Championship against Rosemary. After the match, Cora Jade showed up and gestured that she wants a shot at the gold. Slamovich was featured in the crowd during the latest WWE NXT ahead of Jade\’s match with Kelani Jordan, and traded some barbs on X with Jade after the match.

TNA\’s multi-year partnership promises plenty of exciting crossovers with WWE, and that has already been the case. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on this partnership and to see who ever crosses the line.

  • Axiom Dreams of Wrestling in Spain During WWE’s Upcoming Visit

WWE NXT Tag Team Champion Axiom is hoping to get in the ring when WWE returns to Spain later this year. Speaking with Vicente Beltrán of ViBe & Sports, Axiom, a Madrid native, recalled watching WWE live in his own country in 2006.

\”I remember watching Rey Mysterio and hoping he would call me to the ring to help because Khali & Finlay were cheating a lot.\”

Now, Axiom doesn\’t need Mysterio\’s permission to get into the ring, but hopes WWE grants him the opportunity to compete in his home country.

\”It would mean a lot to me, as someone from Vallecas in Madrid who joined WWE and is an NXT Tag Champion, and it would be a full-circle moment for me. It would be me telling that kid to put a mask on, and he would meet his idols.\”

WWE will visit Spain in March 2025, with WWE SmackDown scheduled to take place at the Olimpic Arena in Badalona. The show will be WWE\’s first TV taping in Spain and part of a tour of Europe during the road to WrestleMania.
