AJ Lee Among Names Quietly Shifted to Free Agent Status on WWE’s Roster Page

AJ Lee, Paige, Nikki Bella, and Brie Bella have all been moved to the free agents section on the WWE website, joining Danhausen, Oba Femi, and Omos in that category on the company’s official roster page.

The change represents a notable shift in how WWE is categorizing several performers who have been part of recent programming. Lee returned to WWE in September 2025 after nearly a decade away, feuded with Becky Lynch, and won the Women’s Intercontinental Championship at Elimination Chamber before losing it back to Lynch at WrestleMania 42. She subsequently posted that she was taking time away from WWE but would be back soon, leaving her status genuinely open-ended rather than indicating a permanent departure.

Paige’s appearance in the free agents section is equally notable given the significance of her recent return. She stepped in at WrestleMania 42 as a replacement for Nikki Bella, who was unable to compete due to a foot injury, making it her first WWE match since 2017 and her first appearance since being medically cleared for in-ring competition. Paige had broken ground outside of WWE at AEW Full Gear 2023, competing in a ring for the first time after clearance before transitioning back to a full-time competitor role.

Nikki Bella made her comeback to WWE last year and had been building toward WrestleMania 42 before the foot injury derailed her plans. Brie officially signed a new deal with the company earlier this year as the Bella Twins attempted to run one final chapter together in WWE. Both now appear in the free agents section alongside their partners in the tag division.

  • Backstage Update on AJ Lee’s Status With WWE

Backstage Update on AJ Lee’s Status With WWE

AJ Lee’s current WWE run appears to have reached its natural conclusion, at least for the foreseeable future.

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reports that a WWE source has indicated Lee’s creative at the moment is effectively done. There is internal hope that she will return for future programs and matches down the line, with SummerSlam mentioned as a potential event she could appear for. Nothing beyond that has been mapped out.

Lee returned to WWE in September 2025 and quickly became one of the more compelling additions to the women’s division. She joined CM Punk in a rivalry against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch before pivoting to a standalone program with Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

Lee defeated Lynch at Elimination Chamber to win her first singles WWE title in over a decade, then dropped the championship to Lynch at WrestleMania 42 on Night One.

The WrestleMania match marked her first appearance at the show since WrestleMania 31, giving her run a meaningful bookend. Whether she returns again will depend on what creative directions emerge and what Lee herself is open to pursuing.

  • WWE Legend Blames Security For CM Punk MGM Grand Incident

WWE Legend Blames Security For CM Punk MGM Grand Incident

WWE legend Al Snow believes security personnel, not CM Punk, should shoulder the blame for the MGM Grand incident that occurred during WrestleMania 42 weekend.

The veteran wrestler addressed the viral confrontation where Punk knocked a fan’s phone down as the individual filmed Bayley hugging AJ Lee near the hotel elevators.

Speaking on The Russo Brand, Snow made it clear the situation should have been prevented before it escalated. He placed responsibility squarely on the security team tasked with protecting talent.

Security Failed to Prevent the Confrontation

Snow explained that security’s job is to stop incidents before they happen, not react after the fact. He criticized the team for allowing the fan to get that close to Punk and his wife in the first place.

“The incident should never even occur. That’s on the security,” Snow said. “They’re there for a reason. They’re not there to just stand idly by. They should be accompanying the talent to and from and in and out of the building just to prevent such things from occurring.”

He continued by highlighting that prevention is the core responsibility of any security detail.

“Security company’s supposed to be there to prevent that situation from occurring in the first place and they were obviously not doing what they needed to do in that moment.”

Punk Shouldn’t Have Been Put in That Position

While acknowledging that Punk’s reaction could be debated, Snow argued the former World Heavyweight champion never should have been forced into that situation. He defended Punk’s response given the circumstances.

“You can sit there and put the heat on either party, but the real heat, I think, goes on the security company,” Snow stated. “Well, you know, Punk shouldn’t have behaved in that manner — well, he shouldn’t have been put in that position to behave in that manner.”

Snow also criticized the fan’s behavior, describing it as aggressive and disrespectful.

“The fans shouldn’t have been that aggressive and they were being very obnoxious and disrespectful, clearly didn’t follow etiquette or protocol or was respectful in any way of personal time.”

AJ Lee’s Involvement Changed the Dynamic

Jeff Lane, speaking alongside Snow, pointed out that the personal element made the situation different. Because AJ Lee, Punk’s wife, was involved in the moment being filmed, the reaction shouldn’t be viewed without that context.

“Especially when she asked you to go away and you don’t go away,” Lane said. “So you got a man up in your wife’s face like that. I don’t fault him for reacting that way emotionally in that situation.”

Despite defending Punk in several ways, Snow acknowledged the situation wasn’t completely black and white.

“Nobody was 100% right. Nobody was 100% wrong on either side of the fence, but security should have been there to keep it from even occurring in the first place. Just shouldn’t have happened.”

Tatum Paxley Reacts to AJ Lee’s Adoption Tweet, Meeting Her

Tatum Paxley opened up about the viral moment when AJ Lee tweeted about wanting to adopt her, calling it “an amazing way to wake up.”

Speaking with Branson on TMZ’s Inside the Ring, Paxley recalled scrolling through her timeline and seeing the post for the first time.

“I get on Twitter and I’m just scrolling the timeline and I see one of the posts saying AJ Lee wants to adopt Tatum Paxley. And I went, ‘What?’ And I ran to her page and I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m so glad I just saw this.’ It was an amazing way to wake up,” Paxley said.

Meeting AJ Lee During WrestleMania Week

Paxley revealed that she met AJ Lee in person for the first time during WrestleMania week, describing the encounter with CM Punk’s wife as a meaningful moment in her career.

“I met her for the first time during Mania week. And I remember I saw her and Punk walking up and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is my first time meeting you!’ I’m hugging her and she was just so, so incredibly kind and so incredibly sweet,” Paxley said. “I just love that we get to have vets like that here. I’m so thankful that she’s back and she’s doing amazing. And to get recognized, noticed by her, it means the world. It just reminds me, okay, I’m doing my job, I’m doing good.”

The NXT Women’s North American Champion also expressed interest in working with AJ Lee down the line.

“I would love down the line that I could do more stuff with her because I think when you put two crazy chicks together, you’re gonna get some pretty cool stuff,” Paxley said.

  • Fan Wants Apology After Hotel Incident with CM Punk

Fan Wants Apology After Hotel Incident with CM Punk

The fan who had his phone slapped away by CM Punk after WrestleMania 42 says he is not pursuing legal action. According to TMZ, the fan stated, “I want an apology, shake my hand. I’m not gonna sue him or put him in jail. I just want an apology.”

The incident occurred at the talent hotel following WrestleMania 42, where multiple reports indicated a lack of security allowed fans to swarm WWE stars. Video footage showed Punk confronting the fan after he continued recording despite being told to leave.

    What Led to the Confrontation

The fan had been pestering Bayley and AJ Lee before Punk intervened. Despite being asked to stop recording, the individual continued filming before Punk stepped in and slapped the phone from his hand.

According to PWInsider, a witness staying at the hotel reported that “not only were Punk and others being surrounded by fans trying to get photos while Bayley and AJ Lee were speaking, but just minutes before this happened, WWE’s Damian Priest had to step in to help a female WWE talent get away from a similar group of fans trying to surround her for photos and autographs.”

    Security Issues at Talent Hotel

The incident was one of several security failures at the WrestleMania 42 talent hotel. Multiple WWE stars were reportedly swarmed by fans, with Damian Priest also having to intervene to help another female talent escape a similar situation. PWInsider noted there were “lots of other instances of similar occurrences” throughout the weekend.

  • AJ Lee Provides Emotional Update On WWE Future After WrestleMania Loss

AJ Lee Provides Emotional Update On WWE Future After WrestleMania Loss

AJ Lee might be done with WWE.

The former Women’s IC Champion was interviewed backstage after her loss to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 42. She was asked if this was one of her more memorable moments in WWE.

The wrestling veteran said that it was her favorite WrestleMania experience so far because she was able to share it with her family. AJ Lee then got emotional talking about her entrance on the show.  where she was accompanied by a number of young fans. The former Champion mentioned how she never got to say goodbye to fans last time, and suggested that this might be the end of her current run with the company:

“It’s been my favorite WrestleMania experience so far. Maybe my favorite match so far. Even though I lost it, I got to have my family here. For a lot of them, it was the first time ever,

And what I wanted to do with that entrance was represent all the fans who have been with me from day one; who have been wearing my outfits, my shirts and my shorts and my shoes and skipping along with me the whole way. That was for you. I love you. I never got to say goodbye last time and I felt bad about that. So this is not goodbye. But, I’ll see you soon. I hope.”

AJ Lee has wrestled a total of 5 matches since her return at WrestlePalooza last year. With CM Punk still being a featured star for the company, there is always a possibility of her return. Though the former Divas Champion also has a number of outside projects and the latest comment indicates that she’ll be focusing on those for the foreseeable future.

  • Paige Reunites With AJ Lee After WWE Return

Paige Reunites With AJ Lee After WWE Return

    Paige is home.

The former Divas Champion made her surprise return to the company on Night 1 of WrestleMania 41. She replaced an injured Nikki Bella in the Women’s Tag Team title match.

The ending of this fatal four-way bout saw Charlotte Flair dragging the returning star into her corner and tagging in her partner, Alexa Bliss. Nikki Bella, who was still at the ringside, however, pulled Flair out of the ring and beat her with the crutch.

Bliss went for the twisted bliss on Paige but she put her knees up. The former AEW Women’s Champion then delivered a DDT to Alexa and pinned her to win the match for her team.

    Paige Reunites

After the victory, Paige reunited with her arch-rival AJ Lee backstage. She posted a photo of the two with the Bella Twins, asking fans if they missed her.

Lee herself had a singles match on the show earlier in the night. Unfortunately for her, Becky Lynch beat the wrestling veteran to regain the Women’s IC Title at the show.

Paige also took part in the WrestleMania-post show where she claimed that WWE is her home. You can check out her comments here.

Bron Breakker reemerged from his hernia-surgery layoff to spear Seth Rollins in half. And Bianca Belair announced a pregnancy.

    John Cena Opens WrestleMania 42

Host John Cena kicked off the show in a suit, delivering the opening address to the Allegiant Stadium crowd. Cena acknowledged that the road to WrestleMania 42 has been “chaotic, unpredictable, vocal and polarizing,” with fans, talent, and people behind the scenes all weighing in on the journey to Las Vegas. He welcomed everyone to WrestleMania, and pyro fired to officially launch Night 1.

It was Cena’s first televised WWE appearance since retiring from in-ring competition in December 2025.

Cena later returned to announce the Night 1 attendance at 50,816. That number bumped up to 50,817 when Bianca Belair made a surprise appearance in a robe of sparkly blue roses, told Cena she had one more to add to the count, and opened her robe to reveal a baby bump. Belair has been out of action since last year’s WrestleMania three-way with Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky.

LA Knight & The Usos def. The Vision (Logan Paul, Austin Theory & IShowSpeed)

LA Knight, Jey Uso, and Jimmy Uso opened WrestleMania 42 with a win over The Vision’s Logan Paul, Austin Theory, and IShowSpeed, but the real story came after the bell.

Logan Paul turned on IShowSpeed the moment the match ended, screaming that Speed had one job and ruined WrestleMania for him and Austin Theory. Paul threw Speed out of the ring, cleared off the announce table, and laid Speed’s lifeless body across it while calling him a moron.

Paul climbed to the top rope and lined up a dive through the table, but The Usos and LA Knight stormed back out to stop him and laid Paul out with a beatdown of their own.

Knight and The Usos hoisted Paul onto the announce table and waved Speed to the top rope. Speed climbed up, measured his shot, and came off with a picture-perfect frog splash that destroyed the table and Paul in the process. LA Knight and The Usos congratulated Speed, walked him back into the ring, and the four celebrated together with a group Yeet as the Allegiant Stadium crowd erupted.

Jacob Fatu def. Drew McIntyre (Unsanctioned Match)

An absolute war. Jacob Fatu made his entrance flanked by fire dancers, while Drew McIntyre brought back his signature sword for the walk to the ring. Fatu didn’t wait — he hit McIntyre with a suicide dive before the bell rang to set the tone for a fight that had no rules and no one with authority to stop it.

What followed was a showcase of two hard-hitting brawlers trading shots through multiple table spots and an assortment of weapons, including a toolbox that came into play as the violence escalated. McIntyre also found time for his signature WrestleMania spot, firing off a tweet in the middle of the match.

Fatu landed consecutive superkicks and a Mighty Moonsault to put McIntyre away at 14:09, sending Allegiant Stadium home from the opening hour with a statement victory over a multi-time world champion.

Paige Returns, Wins Women’s Tag Team Championship With Brie Bella

Nia Jax and Lash Legend entered first in gear paying tribute to Demolition’s Ax and Smash, who were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame the night before and seated at ringside. Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss and Bayley & Lyra Valkyria followed, and then Nikki Bella came out on crutches alongside Brie. Nikki told the crowd she wasn’t medically cleared, so she’d called in a favor from an old friend.

Paige was back. Making her first WWE appearance in-ring since the December 2017 neck injury that was believed to be career-ending, the former Divas Champion walked to the WrestleMania ring to a massive reaction from Allegiant Stadium.

The match worked under a fatal four-way tag structure, with only designated competitors legal and tags required to rotate partners in. Brie connected with her signature Yes Kicks on Flair early, and the bout built toward Alexa Bliss lining up a Twisted Bliss for what looked like the winning pin.

That’s when Nikki got involved. Still on crutches, she yanked Flair out of the ring and went to work on her, giving Paige just enough time to raise her knees and catch Bliss on the way down. Paige followed with the Rampage on Bliss for the three count, claiming the Women’s Tag Team Championship in her first WWE match in more than eight years and her first singles or tag championship win since the AEW Women’s Championship in 2023.

Paige and Brie Bella are your new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Becky Lynch def. AJ Lee to Win the Women’s Intercontinental Championship

This was the entrance show. Becky Lynch had The Wonder Years perform her entrance live. AJ Lee walked out flanked by roughly a dozen young fans all wearing matching gear and carrying replica title belts — her first WrestleMania appearance in eleven years, her last being WrestleMania 31 in a tag match alongside Paige, of all people, against the Bella Twins.

Lynch came in with a lot to avenge. She tapped to the Black Widow at WrestlePalooza, at Survivor Series WarGames, and at Elimination Chamber, where she lost the Women’s Intercontinental title to AJ for the first time. Three prior Lee wins. WrestleMania was Becky’s chance to flip the ledger, and she took it.

Becky Lynch is a three-time Women’s Intercontinental Champion. The head-to-head singles record between the two is now 1-1 on titles, with AJ still leading the overall head-to-head 3-1 when tag and multi-woman matches are factored in.

GUNTHER def. Seth Rollins (Bron Breakker Returns)

Rollins walked to the ring wearing black contacts that turned his eyes fully dark — equal parts creepy and cool, and a callback to the headspace he’s been in heading into this match. GUNTHER wasted no time and jumped him before the bell, turning what fans expected to be a technical wrestling match into a ringside brawl from the opening seconds.

Once the pace settled, the Ring General took over with trademark chops, slowing Rollins down in the center of the ring. A Buckle Bomb and clothesline from Rollins reset things at the five-minute mark, and the two started trading chops and strikes. GUNTHER answered with a powerbomb and a close near-fall to shift momentum back his way.

The match hit its highest gear with both men on the top rope. Rollins countered a superplex attempt and drilled GUNTHER with his signature superplex/Falcon Arrow combination, then locked in his own sleeper. GUNTHER reached the ropes to break it, rolled outside, and Rollins followed with three suicide dives. GUNTHER caught him with two powerbombs onto the apron and announce table. When the Ring General went for a third, Rollins countered into a Pedigree and a Curb Stomp through the announce table.

That’s when WrestleMania flipped. As Rollins celebrated, Bron Breakker’s music hit, the lights exploded, and the man supposedly out of action with a hernia injury charged the ring and speared Rollins in half. GUNTHER rolled back in, locked in the sleeper on the dazed Visionary, and Rollins passed out cold. GUNTHER takes WrestleMania at 15:48.

Breakker wasn’t done. After the match, he ran the length of the ramp and speared Rollins again, then told him he should have finished him off when he had the chance. Paul Heyman walked out to the top of the ramp and hugged Breakker — making official what the spear already signaled. Breakker is aligned with Heyman and The Vision, and Rollins paid the price.

The WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2026 was then shown on stage, including Demolition, Dennis Rodman, and family members representing Bad News Brown, Hulk Hogan (joined by longtime friend Jimmy Hart), Andre the Giant, and Sid Vicious. AJ Styles and Stephanie McMahon came out to their own music to round out the segment.

Liv Morgan def. Stephanie Vaquer to Win the Women’s World Championship

Liv Morgan made her entrance with a full stage performance of her new single “Trouble,” lip-synced with backup dancers before heading to the ring still sporting the bruises from her recent collision with Roxanne Perez. Stephanie Vaquer followed with rose petals raining down as she hit the ramp. It was Vaquer’s first WrestleMania match.

Vaquer took the early lead with a double-leg takedown into a striking exchange, sending Morgan into the barricade before hitting a running double knee strike in the corner. Morgan fired back by countering Vaquer on the turnbuckle with a springboard sunset flip powerbomb for a near-fall, then ran through the Three Amigas in tribute to Eddie Guerrero.

Vaquer connected with a backbreaker and, in the night’s biggest spot, hit Morgan with Morgan’s own ObLIVion. Morgan kicked out. The Judgment Day numbers game went to work from there: Roxanne Perez distracted the referee while Raquel Rodriguez draped Vaquer across the ropes, letting Morgan connect with an ObLIVion. Vaquer kicked out again, took Perez and Rodriguez out on the floor with a springboard crossbody, and looked primed to retain.

Morgan caught her on the way back in with the steel steps, then connected with a Codebreaker followed by ObLIVion for the pin at 6:50. “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio ran down with the championship and hoisted Morgan up as Perez and Rodriguez joined them in the ring to celebrate.

Morgan is now a three-time Women’s World Champion, completing the Rumble-to-Mania run she mapped out when she returned at Survivor Series last November. Vaquer’s reign ended at 211 days.

Main Event: Cody Rhodes def. Randy Orton to Retain the Undisputed WWE Championship

Pat McAfee walked out first, flipping off the crowd and cursing at fans on his way down. Orton followed to the usual “Voices” singalong from an Allegiant Stadium crowd that hasn’t fully turned on him. Rhodes’ entrance rolled a montage of every gimmick he’s worn in WWE, including Dashing Cody Rhodes and Stardust, before the American Nightmare rose from under the ramp decked out in all gold and an American Nightmare mask.

The match couldn’t start clean. As Alicia Taylor handled introductions, McAfee grabbed the mic to introduce Orton himself, then he and Orton jumped Rhodes before the bell. Cody fought both men off, and as McAfee scrambled, Jelly Roll appeared at ringside and drove McAfee through the announce table with an elbow drop. A stretcher wheeled McAfee away from ringside, removing Orton’s corner guy before the bell even rang — or so it seemed.

Once the bell rang, Orton and Rhodes locked up in a classic collar-and-elbow. Orton won the opening exchange with shoulder tackles to establish his power advantage. Rhodes answered with speed and counters, capping the flurry with a scoop powerslam. He picked Orton’s back apart with a sidewalk slam and a Disaster Kick, and at one point wiped Orton’s blood across his own chest — a glimpse of a darker Cody than the American Nightmare fans are used to. Throughout the match, Rhodes leaned on underhanded tactics that felt new for WWE’s top babyface: an eye poke, a low blow, a willingness to target Orton’s open wound with punches and kicks after Orton was busted open on the ring post.

Orton hung in and answered with vintage offense: a superplex, clotheslines, a scoop powerslam, and his own draping DDT. Every RKO tease got countered. Rhodes hit a backslide, then shocked Orton by hitting him with his own RKO. Orton kicked out at two. Cody mocked the RKO setup; Orton caught him with a CrossRhodes for a near-fall. Rhodes lined up the triple CrossRhodes, and Orton snapped back into an RKO out of nowhere — another close two. Orton even hit referee Charles Robinson with an RKO at one point during the scramble.

And then McAfee was back. After being stretchered out, he returned as a replacement referee with the match continuing to spiral. That set up the finish everyone will be talking about for weeks. After a Rhodes kickout, McAfee ordered Orton to finish Cody off. Orton stood up, turned, stalked McAfee instead, and hit the mystery-caller with an RKO. With Orton distracted and McAfee down, Rhodes hit CrossRhodes for the pin at 22:40. Cody Rhodes retained the Undisputed WWE Championship. Per the match stipulation, Pat McAfee is now banned from the wrestling business forever.

But this wasn’t a celebration. As the bell rang, Orton got back to his feet, stole the title belt from Rhodes, and cracked Cody in the skull with it. He followed up with the Punt Kick to put Cody down for real and held the Undisputed WWE Championship over his head as the show went off the air. Orton didn’t win the title. He used his own RKO to clear out the version of himself that was embarrassing him, and then sent a message to Cody about what’s next.

Cody walks out of Night 1 still Undisputed Champion. Orton walks out still chasing his 15th world title, fully turned, and fully alone. This rivalry isn’t over.

“Absolute Time of My Life” – CM Punk Opens Up on WrestleMania Run with AJ Lee

CM Punk opened up about what AJ Lee’s WWE return has meant to him personally during an appearance on ALL THE SMOKE: Unplugged. The World Heavyweight Champion said traveling and performing alongside his wife since her September comeback has been the best period of his career.

“The worst thing about me coming back and being gone so frequently is that I was gone so frequently,” Punk told hosts Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson. “I get sad when I have to kiss my wife goodbye, even if it’s for two days. But now she’s with me. We get to travel together, experience things together. I’m so much more calm when she’s around.”

    “Absolute Time of My Life”

Punk described a specific moment that captures what the arrangement means to him.

“I can hear her laughing in the locker room down the hall. It’s such a calming, zen thing for me. Sharing a ring with her and doing stuff on TV with her, absolute time of my life. What a dream my life and my career has been since she came back in September.”

He also spoke about AJ Lee’s larger impact on the women’s division. Punk referenced an interview where Lee expressed a desire for Paige to experience how different WWE is now.

“My wife kicked down a lot of doors and made it easier and better for the next generation,” Punk said. “She’s not demanding payment or credit. But I think there’s a lot of women on this crew that are grateful for the things that she did.”

AJ Lee returned to WWE after an 11-year absence last September and has since been featured in on-screen segments alongside Punk. WrestleMania 42 takes place April 18-19 in Las Vegas.

  • AJ Lee Says Paige’s WWE Return Would Be ‘Heartwarming and Healing’

AJ Lee Says Paige’s WWE Return Would Be ‘Heartwarming and Healing’

AJ Lee wants Paige back in WWE, and she made clear it would mean far more to her than just a roster addition.

Speaking with Rick Ucchino for Sports Illustrated, Lee was asked about the possibility of Paige returning to the company and reflected on the relationship the two had built during their time together and what a reunion would mean on a personal level.

Lee recalled being immediately struck by Paige’s ability upon her first arrival in WWE and described taking on an informal mentorship role early in their relationship.

“It would be great. She’s so talented and I knew it from day one, and we always joke that I was her fairy godmother. And I just like took her under my wing and tried to protect her,” Lee said.

She then turned to what seeing Paige back in WWE would mean to her now. “And just to see her now would be just kind of heartwarming and healing and she’d be a great addition to the locker room, I think.”

Lee also used the moment to highlight how much the environment in WWE’s women’s division has changed since her first run with the company, suggesting Paige would be walking into something very different from what either of them experienced in their earlier years.

“This place has really come a long way and the women work together so beautifully and they’re so supportive and I would love for her to experience just like how fun it is now,” Lee said.

Paige retired from in-ring competition in 2018 due to a neck injury and has remained a popular figure in wrestling circles since. Lee defends the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 42 on April 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

  • AJ Lee Credits Fans for WWE Return: Coming Back Was The Right Decision

AJ Lee Credits Fans for WWE Return: Coming Back Was The Right Decision

WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion AJ Lee recently said that her fans ultimately convinced her to return to WWE. The former Divas Champion opened up about her decision ahead of WrestleMania 42.

Speaking with The Takedown on SI, Lee described the moment she realized fan appetite for her comeback remained strong. She pointed to the reception she received at meet-and-greet events as the turning point.

“I knew that coming back was the right decision because of my fans. I was getting these lines that were legitimately seven hours long and that’s when I realized, ‘oh, they’re still here.’ There’s still this hunger here. This support that only comes with wrestling.”

    She added:

“It only comes with this really loyal fanbase who watched me from day one, were a part of the mission statement of underdogs for the win and stuck with me, and were waiting for me to come back. And to be able to give them a title run and a Mania match, has been incredibly meaningful.”

Lee had last competed in WWE in 2015 before stepping away from wrestling. Her return marks an 11-year absence from the company.

AJ Lee defeated Becky Lynch to capture WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship and it marked her first singles WWE title in over a decade. On the March 23 edition of Raw, Lee issued a challenge for a rematch which Lynch accepted. They will now battle for the title at WrestleMania 42.

  • AJ Lee Wants Two Former Divas Champions In WWE: ‘Let’s Get Them Back’

AJ Lee Wants Two Former Divas Champions In WWE: ‘Let’s Get Them Back’

AJ Lee wants to see two of her biggest rivals return to WWE. The Women’s Intercontinental Champion named Paige (now known as Saraya) and Kaitlyn (Celeste Bonin), are the wrestlers she’d most like to see back in the company.

Lee feuded extensively with both women during her original WWE run from 2012 to 2014. The three competed in a handful of televised singles matches during that period, creating some of the most memorable women’s division moments of that era.

AJ Lee Calls for Paige and Kaitlyn’s Return

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Lee made her pitch for bringing back both former superstars.

“I love Paige… if I could bring somebody back, her and Kaitlyn. Let’s get them back.”

AJ Lee spoke particularly warmly about Paige, describing their relationship during their time together in WWE.

“We’d always joke that I was her fairy godmother and I just took her under my wing and tried to protect her,” Lee revealed.

Paige Deserves to See WWE’s Progress

The champion believes Paige would thrive in today’s WWE environment. Lee praised the current locker room culture and the strides the women’s division has made in recent years.

“She’s so talented and I knew it from day one. It would be kind of heartwarming and healing, and she would be a great addition to this locker room. I think this place has really come a long way and the women work together so beautifully, and they’re so supportive. I would love for her to experience just how fun it is now.”

  • New Title Match Made Official For WrestleMania 42

New Title Match Made Official For WrestleMania 42

AJ Lee is set for WrestleMania.

Last week’s episode of Raw saw Becky Lynch making her return to the show to attack the reigning Intercontinental Champion after she successfully defended her title against Bayley.

This week’s episode of the Red Branded show then saw Lynch calling out the WWE veteran. She talked about making the IC title the most important title in the company and revealed that her daughter has been singing Lee’s stupid theme song.

AJ then entered the picture, but Becky got out of the ring as the IC champion rushed into the squared circle. The WWE veteran then said that she has walked Becky like a dog every time they have met in the ring.

The champ said that she will give Lynch what she wants to end their feud, which is a title rematch at WrestleMania 42.

This is the third women’s match officially announced for the Show of Shows after Stephanie Vaquer vs. Liv Morgan and Jade Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley. WWE has yet to reveal the match order for the two nights of the PLE. Stay tuned for more updates on the WrestleMania card.

  • Big Title Match And More Confirmed For Next Week\’s Raw

WWE has set up some big things for next week\’s Raw.

Tonight\’s episode of the Monday Night show saw a big #1 contender’s gauntlet match featuring women such as Asuka, Bayley, Ivy Nile, IYO SKY, Lyra Valkyria, and Raquel Rodriguez.

Bayley won this match by defeating Asuka after Valkyria helped even the odds against Kairi Sane. The victory earns her the right to face AJ Lee in a Women\’s IC title match on next week\’s episode of the show.

The company also announced a singles match between the original El Grande Americano and El Grande Americano after the original faced Penta in an IC title match at the latest Raw episode instead of his counterpart.

Apart from this, a Roman Reigns appearance was confirmed for the Red Brand next week. This comes after The Usos confronted CM Punk about disrespecting their uncle in tonight\’s main event, and shoved the World Champion to end the show.

Brock Lesnar had previously announced that he would be holding a WrestleMania open challenge with multiple Raw appearances leading up to the Grandest Stage of Them All, and he will be starting his tour with the March 16 Raw as well.

WWE Raw Match Card for March 2, 2026

Here are the matches and segments announced:

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Penta

Dominik Mysterio puts the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the line against number-one contender Penta in Indianapolis. Penta secured his title shot by defeating El Grande Americano on the February 16 episode of Raw. Dirty Dom returned from injury on February 2 and has yet to make his first successful title defense since the comeback.

    Gunther vs. Dragon Lee

Gunther meets Dragon Lee in a heated singles matchup. The feud stems from Gunther\’s disrespectful treatment of AJ Styles following his career-ending loss at the Royal Rumble. Lee, a close ally of Styles, attacked Gunther on last week\’s Raw to set up this contest.

CM Punk & AJ Lee Appear Live

Fresh off their historic night at Elimination Chamber, World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk (c) and Women\’s Intercontinental Champion AJ Lee (c) will be in the building. Punk retained his title over Finn Bálor in Chicago on Saturday while Lee submitted Becky Lynch in her first singles title match in over 11 years to capture the Women\’s Intercontinental Championship. The dual-champion couple is expected to cross paths with WrestleMania opponents as the road to Las Vegas heats up.

    Roman Reigns Returns

Roman Reigns is advertised to return to Raw. The Tribal Chief is set to confront Punk ahead of their confirmed WrestleMania 42 main event matchup.

As GM Adam Pearce teased on social media: \”Roman and Punk in the building at the same time. It\’s live TV. What the hell could possibly go wrong?\” With both men under the same roof weeks before WrestleMania, anything is on the table.

Adam Pearce to Address Seth Rollins Situation

Raw GM Adam Pearce has officially announced he will address the ongoing situation involving Seth Rollins, who made a shocking return at Elimination Chamber Saturday night. Rollins, revealed as the masked man who had been attacking Logan Paul\’s faction The Vision for weeks, stormed the men\’s Elimination Chamber match and hit Paul with a Curb Stomp — allowing Cody Rhodes to eliminate him before Randy Orton ultimately won the match. Pearce is expected to address the fallout and any potential consequences.

    Road to WrestleMania 42

WrestleMania 42 takes place April 18–19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Raw is the first of several pivotal stops on the road to the Grandest Stage of Them All. With CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns officially set for the World Heavyweight Championship, Randy Orton punching his WrestleMania ticket out of the Chamber, and Seth Rollins\’ return creating new chaos at the top of the card, this episode figures to shape multiple WrestleMania storylines in real time.

  • AJ Lee Reacts To Becoming Champion Again After 11 Years

AJ Lee feels amazing at being champion again.

The new Women\’s Intercontinental Champion took part in the Elimination Chamber post-show after making Becky Lynch tap out for the title at the PPV event. She was asked how it felt to become a champion in wrestling again after 11 years, and Lee mentioned that her first title in the company was also in Chicago:

\”Amazing. It feels right to have done this in Chicago. I don\’t know if you guys remember, but my first title, the Divas title, was won here in Chicago. I felt like it took forever to get her to actually tap. It was the longest moment of my life, just waiting to see if she would give up, and she did. It\’s surreal to, 11 years later, be a champion again.”

The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me: AJ Lee

Both AJ Lee and CM Punk paid tribute to their dog Larry through their gear at the show. Punk wore a Larry Forever jacket while Lee had a graphic of the same effect on her shorts. When asked about it, the new champion said that she will never forget Larry and will never love anyone again in the same way:

\”Oh my gosh, Larry is the best thing that ever happened to me. He is the love of our lives. I appreciate you guys bringing signs out for him all the time. I will never forget him; I will never love again the same way. But thank you guys so much for loving him.\”

The show tonight also featured a lot of surprises, including the return of Seth Rollins. You can check out what WWE might be planning for the former World Champion after tonight here.

  • Seth Rollins Goes All-In on Becky Lynch vs. AJ Lee: \’She\’s Got It Locked and Rocked\’

Former World Champion Seth Rollins is currently sidelined with a shoulder injury, but he had plenty to say about the woman he believes will prove herself the greatest female wrestler of all time at WWE Elimination Chamber.

Appearing on ESPN\’s Get Up alongside host Mike Greenberg, \’The Visionary\’ issued an unequivocal endorsement of his wife and WWE Women\’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch. Rollins spoke highly of his wife ahead of her Women\’s Intercontinental Championship defense against AJ Lee on Saturday in Chicago. He said:

\”My wife is going to make sure the world knows who is the greatest female wrestler of all time — not just me saying it, other people saying it. The Man, Becky Lynch — big time Beck — she\’s the Intercontinental Champion. She has put that title on the map. She\’s gonna wipe the floor with AJ. This is AJ Lee\’s first singles match in a decade. In a decade. She doesn\’t stand a chance. My wife, she\’s got it locked and rocked, baby.\”

Rollins Defends the Survivor Series Tap-Out

The pointed prediction comes with context. At Wrestlepalooza in September last year, AJ Lee and CM Punk defeated Lynch and Rollins in a mixed tag team match, with Lynch tapping out to Lee in the closing moments. Greenberg brought up the submission, and Rollins delivered a characteristically colorful response. He explained:

\”Tapping out — there was a lot going on. My wife said there\’s some insects in the ring. She said she wasn\’t really tapping out. Either way, tomorrow my wife is going to make sure the world knows who is the greatest female wrestler of all time.\”

The rematch has been building since AJ Lee\’s return to WWE in September 2025. The match was made official on the February 9th episode of Raw, with Lee confronting Lynch and challenging her for the championship. Saturday marks Lee\’s first official singles match since March 2015, when she last competed against Nikki Bella.

Lynch reclaimed the Women\’s Intercontinental Championship after previously losing it when AJ Lee\’s interference allowed Maxxine Dupri to pin her in November. Now she\’ll defend the title in front of a Chicago crowd that figures to be split as United Center is home turf for both Lee and her husband, CM Punk.

WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 takes place Saturday, February 28th, at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, streaming on the ESPN App at 7 PM ET.

  • Elimination Chamber 2026 Betting Odds: Favorites & Underdogs

With WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 set for this weekend in Chicago, oddsmakers at BetOnline have updated their lines for the event\’s 4 matches. While there are no guarantees, the numbers paint a pretty clear picture of what bettors are expecting.

    Men\’s Elimination Chamber Match

In the Men\’s Elimination Chamber match, Cody Rhodes is a heavy favorite at -400, meaning you\’d need to bet $400 just to win $100. Randy Orton is the second choice at +225, followed by LA Knight at +425. The longest shots in the match are Trick Williams (+1600), Je\’Von Evans (+1400), and Jey Uso (+1100) — all massive underdogs according to the betting market.

    Women\’s Elimination Chamber Match

The Women\’s Elimination Chamber is considerably more competitive. Rhea Ripley is favored at -155, but Tiffany Stratton is right behind her at +110 — essentially a coin flip between those two. Alexa Bliss checks in at +525, while Raquel Rodriguez (+900), Asuka (+1400), and Kiana James (+2000) round out the field as significant underdogs.

    World Heavyweight Championship Match

In the World Heavyweight Championship match, CM Punk is an overwhelming -5000 favorite over Finn Bálor (+1000) — one of the most lopsided lines you\’ll see on any wrestling card. The market is giving Bálor almost no chance of walking out with the gold.

    Women\’s Intercontinental Championship Match

The most intriguing individual match may be the WWE Women\’s Intercontinental Championship bout. AJ Lee is favored at -275 over Becky Lynch (+185) — a notable line given Lynch\’s star power, suggesting the market expects Lee to leave with the title.

Of course, betting odds reflect public money and expectations — not spoilers. But for fans trying to gauge how Elimination Chamber storylines might play out, these numbers offer a revealing look at what people are willing to put their own money behind.

  • AJ Lee Scanned for WWE 2K26, First Game in Over a Decade

AJ Lee revealed on Instagram Stories that she was secretly scanned for WWE 2K26 several months ago, confirming her first appearance in a WWE video game since WWE 2K15 launched in late 2014.

    https://media.sescoops.com/uploads/2026/02/\"WWE

The former Divas Champion shared a photo from inside a body-scanning rig, writing: \”Secretly got scanned for @wwegames a few months back. Game AJ looks so legit. 14-year-old AJ\’s mind is still blown to go from Character Creation menu to an actual playable character in two different decades of 2k haha what is life.\”

Lee will appear as a playable character on the Raw roster, with a classic AJ Lee \’15 version also listed as part of the Legend roster. This marks only the fourth time she has been a playable character in a mainline WWE game, following WWE \’13, WWE 2K14, and WWE 2K15.

CM Punk first revealed AJ Lee\’s entrance in the game during a social media takeover of the WWE Games account on February 9, writing: \”Your passion changed the industry. Now it lives on in the game. Proud doesn\’t even cover it.\” This marks the first time Lee has been modeled using next-gen graphics.

AJ Lee is also featured in the game\’s CM Punk Showcase mode. The mode includes a recreation of the CM Punk and AJ Lee vs. Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch mixed tag match from WrestlePalooza, as well as a \”What If?\” scenario pairing Punk and Lee against The Miz and Maryse. Players can also choose AJ Lee in the new Showcase Gauntlet mode, where she can face all 20 Showcase opponents consecutively to unlock every reward in the mode.

Lee returned to WWE in September 2025 after over a decade away and is currently in a program with Becky Lynch heading into Elimination Chamber. WWE 2K26 is scheduled to release on March 13, 2026.

  • Becky Lynch vs. AJ Lee Feud Still Planned for WrestleMania (Report)

Becky Lynch will defend the Women\’s Intercontinental Championship against AJ Lee at WWE Elimination Chamber on February 28 in Chicago. This will be their first singles match, and Dave Meltzer reports the feud is still expected to continue through WrestleMania 42.

The Chamber match was announced on Monday Night Raw this week. According to Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE always planned for this storyline to extend beyond Elimination Chamber.

\”I was expecting this match at Mania. But I was told, you know, there\’s a reason it\’s here and the story goes until Mania,\” Meltzer explained. \”I was just basically told, I go like, \’I thought this was going to be at Mania?\’ I was told, \’Don\’t worry, it all plays out to get there.\’\”

AJ Lee returned to WWE in September 2025 after a decade-long retirement and has been feuding with Becky Lynch since. The two have teamed together and opposed each other in mixed tag matches and WarGames, but have never faced off one-on-one until now.

Elimination Chamber at the United Center will serve as a homecoming for both AJ Lee and her husband CM Punk. Punk is scheduled to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor on the same card.

WWE Elimination Chamber takes place February 28, 2026 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

  • Becky Lynch vs AJ Lee Title Match Set for Elimination Chamber

Becky Lynch will defend the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship against AJ Lee at Elimination Chamber on February 28, 2026 in Chicago.

AJ Lee will challenge Becky Lynch for the Women\’s Intercontinental Championship at WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 in Chicago.

The match was made official on the February 9, 2026 episode of Raw, where AJ Lee returned and confronted the champion. Becky Lynch accepted the challenge, agreeing to defend her title against AJ at the event.

Elimination Chamber 2026 takes place Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

The bout will mark AJ Lee\’s first singles match since March 2015, when she last wrestled Nikki Bella on Raw. The storyline heading into Chicago centers on AJ costing Becky matches and titles in recent months, building to their eventual showdown.

The Women\’s Intercontinental Championship match joins a growing Elimination Chamber card that already includes the men\’s and women\’s chamber matches, with qualifying matches for both currently ongoing.

  • WWE Rumors: AJ Lee WrestleMania Match, Steve Austin Returning

Happy Friday. Another day, another batch of WWE rumors to sift through ahead of Saturday Night\’s Main Event weekend. Here\’s your complete WWE rumors roundup for January 23, 2026.

WWE Rumor: AJ Lee vs Becky Lynch \”Locked In\” for WrestleMania 42

According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, sources suggest that AJ Lee vs Becky Lynch is considered one of the more \”locked in\” matches for WrestleMania 42. The long-rumored dream match between the two former Divas Champions appears to be moving forward after months of speculation.

Despite multiple creative hurdles in bringing Lee back to active competition, WWE officials are committed to making this match happen at the biggest show of the year.

If confirmed, this would mark Lee\’s first singles match at WrestleMania in her career—a fitting stage for one of the most anticipated dream matches in recent memory.

WWE Rumor: Steve Austin Appearance Being Discussed Internally

One of WWE\’s greatest legends could be making a return sooner than expected. Also from WrestleVotes, there has been internal discussion about \”Stone Cold\” Steve Austin making an appearance in the near future. Austin\’s name has reportedly come up in discussions across multiple departments.

With Royal Rumble taking place in Saudi Arabia next week, speculation is running wild about whether Austin could make a surprise appearance—though his history with the Saudi shows makes this unlikely for that particular event.

WWE Rumor: Powerhouse Hobbs New Ring Name

Now that Powerhouse Hobbs\’ WWE signing has been confirmed, attention turns to what he\’ll be called on the main roster. It\’s believed that WWE\’s reent trademark for the name \”Royce Keys\” will be the super heavyweight\’s new moniker.

The company reportedly has big plans for the former TNT Champion and has been preparing for his arrival for some time.

    Royal Rumble 2026 Betting Favorites

As Royal Rumble 2026 approaches on January 31 in Saudi Arabia, the latest betting odds from MyBookie (as of last night) have wrestling fans speculating about the potential winners:

    Men\’s Royal Rumble Favorites:

    • GUNTHER (+200)

While betting odds don\’t confirm anything, they often reflect insider sentiment.

Which of these WWE rumors are you most excited about? Let us know in the comments below.

  • AJ Lee Championship Match \’Locked In\’ For WrestleMania

AJ Lee is set for a championship match at WrestleMania 42.

After reports of the company overhauling the creative for the Show of Shows recently, there had been questions on whether or not the officials will stick to the direction teased for the wrestling veteran before.

Now Fightful Select has confirmed that AJ Lee vs. Becky Lynch is indeed in the works for WWE\’s return to Las Vegas, and at this point it\’s considered one of the more \’locked in\’ matches for the PLE.

The former Divas Champion has been engaged in a feud with The Man since her surprise return to the company in September last year. Her return match was a mixed tag where Lee teamed up with her husband CM Punk, to defeat the duo of Lynch and Seth Rollins.

AJ Lee then cost Becky the Women\’s IC title in her match against Maxxine Dupri during the November 17 Raw. This led to the two joining the opposite WarGames teams at the Survivor Series PPV, where AJ submitted the Irish star to secure the victory.

The Black Widow has not made an appearance on WWE TV after WarGames but with Becky having regained the IC title since then, it\’s not hard to imagine that a title match is in the works between the two.

  • AJ Lee Breaks Silence On Larry\’s Passing

AJ Lee has commented on the passing of Larry.

CM Punk had originally announced the passing of his beloved dog back in early December last year, leading to an outpouring of tributes from both his peers and fans. The female star on the other hand had been silent about his passing until this week when she penned down a long and emotional message for Larry.

AJ Lee mentioned that the beloved dog brought chaos to their house, stealing entire pizzas and donuts off countertops and generally being very active. All this only made the couple fall deeper in love with him however, with Lee crediting him for getting her out of her deepest depressive cycles:

He stole entire pizzas and donuts off countertops and swallowed them whole like a snake. One time a little abuela saw him on the street, clutched her chest, and yelled “El Chupacabra!” He helped get me out of the deepest depressive cycles and was the center of my happiest days.

Punk has continued celebrating the life of Larry in various ways as well. This includes honoring him with a special pizza at Piece Chicago, with proceeds going to PAWS Chicago, as well as getting a new tattoo in his memory.

The Straight Edge star most recently wrestled during the January 5 Raw where he picked up a victory over Bron Breakker. He is set for another World title defence next week, and you can check out more details about it here.

  • Meet Your Heroes: Roxanne Perez on Working With AJ Lee and CM Punk

Roxanne Perez couldn’t be happier about having her wrestling hero AJ Lee back in the WWE locker room.

Speaking with Going Ringside, the Judgment Day member opened up about what Lee’s return has meant to her personally, crediting the former Divas Champion as the person who made her believe a WWE career was achievable.

“She was definitely the person that made me realize that it was possible for me to become a WWE superstar. One of my biggest inspirations, for sure,” Perez said of Lee

    https://x.com/PopBase/status/1965438977068142904?s=20

With both Lee and CM Punk now working together backstage in WWE, Perez has had a front-row seat to watch two of her childhood favorites interact. The young star didn’t hold back when describing the noticeable change in Punk’s demeanor when his wife is around.

“That’s been awesome having them around in the locker room. You can definitely see the change in Punk’s energy and just overall happiness when she’s around. It’s so cute,” Perez shared. “And it’s awesome to see. You know, I grew up watching them. The storylines that they created were some of my favorite to watch growing up.”

Now, instead of watching from afar, Perez gets to lean on both Punk and Lee for guidance as she navigates her own WWE career.

“To now have them there and for them to just be people that I can turn to whenever I need advice or need help or anything. Yeah, they’re just amazing,” she said.

When the interviewer noted the old adage about never meeting your heroes, Perez was quick to push back, giving both Lee and Punk full credit for defying that cynical expectation.

“It definitely went well. I tell them that a lot where I’m like, thank you for making that quote, ‘never meet your hero,’ so untrue because they are just awesome. They’re just awesome to be around.”
