Booker T Believes AEW Revolution Spot Was ‘In Poor Taste’

Booker T did not like the syringe spot at Revolution.

The latest AEW PPV was main evented by a World Championship bout between MJF and his challenger, Hangman Page. The match, contested under Texas Death Match stipulation featured many brutal spots. One such spot that got people talking was when the Champion inserted a syringe in Page’s mouth.

The WWE Hall of Famer addressed the spot during the latest episode of his podcast. Booker T mentioned how Hangman had been involved in a similar angle with Swerve Strickland in their All Out 2024 match. He suggested that both times, the involvement of a syringe was in poor taste:

“Last time I saw a syringe used like that, it was in a Strickland match, and I didn’t think it was in great taste because, you know, I don’t know what these guys think or understand about needles and drugs and whatnot.”

It’s Just In Poor Taste: Booker T

Booker T explained his dislike for the use of a syringe in wrestling, saying that it reminds him of encounters with drug users in his family early in his life. The former WCW Champion explained that those moments made him not want to do drugs ever:

“But I’ve walked into a room, when I was a kid, on someone in my family — someone close to my family — with a needle in their arm, doing drugs. And it’s something that made me never want to even think about doing drugs like that.

I used to see needles on the ground when I was a kid because I was in places where I wasn’t supposed to be. So to see something like that on television, knowing what it represents, it’s just in poor taste.”

The 61-year-old later noted that he did not watch the whole thing, so he will not comment on the match. Knowing the involvement of the syringe spot however, he is glad he did not watch the show.

  • Backstage News On Hangman Page After Revolution Loss

Backstage News On Hangman Page After Revolution Loss

Hangman Page will be taking some time off.

The Cowboy challenged MJF for the AEW World Championship at the Revolution PPV this past Sunday. Despite a brutal Texas Death Match, the 34-year-old failed to win the bout. The challenger was loaded onto a stretcher after the extreme title fight, and the show had ended with MJF standing tall over him.

Fightful Select has now provided an update on his status, noting that Hangman Page is expected to take some time off from the company after his big feud.

The site could not confirm if his hiatus will begin immediately or how long he will be taking off. Though the former AEW World Champion did not appear on this week’s Dynamite and after being stretchered out of Revolution, it seems unlikely that he will return to weekly TV just to be written off again.

Hangman had gotten MJF to agree to the Texas Death stipulation on the condition that he would never challenge for the AEW Title again if he lost. Page has been a central figure of the AEW title scene since the company’s inception so we’ll have to see how the promotion addresses this change when he comes back.

  • Not Up To Me: Absent AEW Star Reacts To Revolution Returns

Not Up To Me: Absent AEW Star Reacts To Revolution Returns

Britt Baker has reacted to Revolution.

Tonight’s AEW PPV featured a number of big moments. Apart from Ronda Rousey’s surprise debut, the show saw the return of the likes of Adam Copeland and Christian Cage who had been out of action since last year.

Reacting to this on social media, a fan asked the former AEW Women’s Champion to come home as well. The female star responded to the comment, saying that her return is out of her hands:

Britt Baker is one of the many names missing from AEW TV without an explanation. She has been out of action since 2024, though the former champion recently confirmed that she does not consider herself to be retired from the world of pro wrestling.

The show tonight also featured a title change in the opening minutes of the event as a Zero Hour match continued at the PPV when the pre-show time ran out. You can check out more about it here.

  • New National Champion Crowned At AEW Revolution

New National Champion Crowned At AEW Revolution

    A new National Champion.

The final match of tonight’s AEW Revolution Zero Hour was a 21-man Blackjack Battle Royal with Ricochet defending his title against the likes of Juice Robinson, Austin Gunn, El Clon, Johnny TV, Daniel Garcia, Tommaso Ciampa, and more.

The fight started outside the ring as none of the contenders wanted to risk elimination by going inside, and it was some time before the action moved into the squared circle.

One interesting elimination from the bout came when Daniel Garcia ripped Komander’s mask off before sending him to the floor. Garcia then put the mask on himself, though he was then eliminated by Ciampa.

The pre-show time ran out before the match concluded, and things continued on the PPV feed. Jack Perry and Ricochet were the two final contestants of the bout. The two brawled on the apron, and Perry was able to eliminate the defending champion with a frankensteiner to win the whole thing.

Ricochet had won a 12-man Casino Gauntlet match to become the Inaugural National Champion at the Full Gear PPV in November last year. Jack Perry’s win ends his reign with the title at 113 days.

  • Veteran Tag Team Makes Surprise AEW Revolution Return

Veteran Tag Team Makes Surprise AEW Revolution Return

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage are back.

Tonight’s AEW Revolution PPV featured a big tag team championship match with FTR defending their titles against The Young Bucks. The duo of Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood won the hard-fought bout after delivering an avalanche Shatter Machine to Nick Jackson.

The champs couldn’t celebrate for long, however, as the lights went out after the bell. A ‘Revenge’ graphic with the Rated R appeared on the entrance screen before Adam Copeland’s music hit.

The former WWE World Champion came out on the stage and stared down FTR in the ring. He wasn’t alone as Christian’s music came up as well, but Copeland’s partner did not show up on stage.

Cage instead came up behind FTR and took out Dax. Copeland then got into the ring, taking Cash out with a spear. Christian finally delivered a Killswitch to Stokely Hathaway, and then the two wrestling veterans stood tall with the tag titles to end the segment.

Adam Copeland & Christian Cage have not wrestled since the All Out PPV in September last year, where they defeated FTR in a tag team match. Though the tag champs had taken out the Attitude Era stars as well as Cope’s wife Beth Phoenix after the bout so we’ll have to see if she also makes a return.

  • Ronda Rousey Makes Surprise AEW Debut, Confronts Toni Storm

Ronda Rousey Makes Surprise AEW Debut, Confronts Toni Storm

Ronda Rousey made a stunning debut in All Elite Wrestling on Sunday night, entering the ring at AEW Revolution 2026 to confront ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.

The appearance came immediately following Storm’s victory over Marina Shafir in a match that lasted approximately nine minutes. Storm secured the win via rollup following a headbutt, after working through a physical back-and-forth that included three hip attacks in the corner and a Storm Zero.

Shafir mounted a serious threat late with her Mother’s Milk submission hold, but Storm managed to escape by biting her opponent’s hand before rallying to finish the match.

Rousey and Storm Go Face-to-Face at Revolution

With Storm standing in the ring following the victory, Rousey’s music hit and the UFC Hall of Famer made her way to the ring, calling Storm back in for a face-to-face confrontation. Security and referees quickly stepped in to separate the two women — but Shafir seized the moment, blindsiding Storm with a sucker punch from behind as the chaos unfolded around them.

The segment immediately points toward a potential alliance between Rousey and Shafir in AEW. The two have an existing connection, having teamed together for three tag team matches in Ring of Honor in 2023, giving their partnership established credibility heading into whatever comes next. Shafir has made no secret of her support for Rousey, publicly expressing excitement for her friend’s upcoming return to competition.

    Rousey’s MMA Return Comes First

Before any AEW program can fully develop, Rousey has a major commitment outside of wrestling. The former UFC champion is scheduled to return to MMA competition on May 16, facing Gina Carano at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California in a fight that will stream on Netflix.

The card is shaping up to be a significant event — Francis Ngannou vs. Philipe Lins has also been confirmed for the same Netflix card. Shafir has confirmed she will be ringside to support Rousey on fight night.

The matchup has drawn attention from across combat sports. Amanda Serrano has publicly backed the fight, calling it a game-changer and firing back at those who have criticized the bout.

What Rousey’s AEW schedule looks like beyond the May 16 fight remains unclear, but her appearance at Revolution — and the unmistakable tension with Toni Storm — has set the stage for a compelling program whenever she’s ready to step back in the ring.

Knight is one-third of the Trios Champions alongside Page and Mike Bailey, making him a high-profile target for MJF ahead of the PPV.

    AEW Women\’s World Championship Match

    Thekla (c) vs. Thunder Rosa

Thunder Rosa made her return on the February 18 edition of Dynamite after a concussion sidelined her since All In: Texas last July. She wasted no time targeting Thekla, setting up this first-time championship singles meeting between the two.

    AEW Continental Championship Eliminator

    Jon Moxley vs. Hechicero

Moxley is scheduled to defend the AEW Continental Championship against Konosuke Takeshita at Revolution in a No Time Limit Match. Tonight he faces the technically gifted Hechicero in an Eliminator bout ahead of that high-profile title defense.

    Tag Team Match

Orange Cassidy & Darby Allin vs. Gabe Kidd & Clark Connors

An intriguing pairing on both sides, this one has the makings of a show-stealer. Cassidy and Allin team up to face the hard-hitting combination of Kidd and Connors in what figures to be one of the more unpredictable bouts on the card.

  • Title Match And More Added To AEW Revolution

New matches have been added to AEW Revolution.

The Young Bucks had won a three-way match at last week\’s Dynamite to earn a shot at the AEW tag team champions FTR. This week\’s episode of the Wednesday Night show saw the AEW co-founders taking out the tag champions and their manager, Stokely Hathaway with superkicks.

The brothers then laid out the challenge for the much-anticipated rematch for the upcoming PPV set to take place from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, on March 15.

The show also featured Jon Moxley challenging Konosuke Takeshita to a No Time Limit rematch at the event. This comes after their Continental Championship match at Grand Slam Australia ended in a 20-minute time limit draw.

This is in addition to the already announced World Title match between AEW Champion MJF and challenger Hangman Page for the upcoming show. The two stars had a promo battle on Dynamite this week where Page proposed a surprising stipulation for the bout. You can check out more about it here.

  • Hangman Page Proposes Big Stipulation for Revolution Match Against MJF

Hangman Page has proposed an interesting stipulation for his upcoming World title match with MJF at Revolution.

This week\’s episode of Dynamite featured the challenger and the champion in a promo battle where they tried to decide which one of the two hated the other more. The talk then moved towards a potential stipulation for their upcoming encounter, with Page leaning towards a Texas Death match.

Though MJF quickly dismissed the idea, saying that they will have nothing but a real, normal professional wrestling match. This is when Hangman threw a curveball and said that, in return for the Death match stipulation he will agree to never challenge for the World Title again if he loses.

The AEW World Champion found the idea intriguing but said that he will take some time to think things through before agreeing to anything.

A stipulation such as this has been executed one time before in AEW when Cody Rhodes lost the AEW title match to Chris Jericho at 2019 Full Gear. MJF was involved in that decision as well, and he threw in the towel on behalf of the American Nightmare to end the bout.

AEW Revolution this year will be taking place on March 15 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.

Do you think it\’s a wise decision for Hangman Page to choose this stipulation for his upcoming match? Let us know in the comments.
