Kyle Fletcher Recalls AEW PPV Being ‘One of The Worst Days’ of His Life

Kyle Fletcher says All In: Texas was one of the worst days of his life.

The 2025 AEW PPV was originally scheduled to feature a TNT Title match between The Protostar and Adam Cole. The match was cancelled hours before the show, however, due to the former WWE star’s injury. It was replaced with a fatal four-way for the now vacant title, which was won by Dustin Rhodes.

The Don Callis Family member spoke about the whole experience for the first time in a new interview with Soundsphere Magazine. Kyle Fletcher proclaimed that it was one of the worst days of his life because he had been preparing for the moment for a long time:

“It was one of the worst days of my whole life. When you have so much built up anxiety and you’ve put that pressure on yourself… You know, I’d been dieting for two, three months leading up to that show. Every single day, I’d been thinking about this moment, this match, all of it. And then the rug gets pulled five hours before, you can’t really put into words what that kind of feels like.”

It Just All Went To Shit: Kyle Fletcher

Adam Cole was originally ready to announce his wrestling retirement after vacating the TNT title and he was only stopped by the officials imploring him not to make it official. The former NXT Champion has not returned to the ring since then, and there has been no update on his wrestling future.

Kyle Fletcher explained that it was supposed to be a huge day for him and he felt a lot of mixed emotions on the match being cancalled. Though he later admitted that he can’t complain too much as the situation for Cole was worse:

“I was just in this weird limbo. I had no idea what was gonna happen, and I had flown my mum out for that show. It was obviously a huge day for me, and then it just all went to shit. Obviously, this is my perspective. It’s very hard for me to complain about it, because I don’t feel like I have the right to complain about it. But yeah, it was very emotional in a lot of different ways, and not how you want a big day like that to go.”

The 27-year-old later said that because of this turn of events, he wants to make sure that the show this year will be a much more positive experience and a day to remember for him.

\”So with Adam Cole, no particular update other than to say you can see he’s doing well, and since we last heard from him when he had to vacate the TNT Championship at AEW All In Texas. It was a sad moment, it was a hard moment for a lot of the fans and for a lot of us in AEW. So we were so happy to hear from him tonight.\”
