Rogelio Reyes, who competes professionally as Cuatrero, has been convicted of domestic violence and attempted femicide by a Mexican court following charges stemming from a March 2023 incident involving his then-girlfriend Stephanie Vaquer.
The sentencing hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, according to EWN, at which point the court will determine the prison term Reyes will serve for the crimes he has now been found guilty of committing.
The charges date back to March 2023, when both Vaquer and Reyes were working for CMLL in Mexico. Vaquer filed a formal complaint against Reyes, stating that he forced himself on her, threw her against a wall, and attempted to choke her. Reyes was arrested on March 10, 2023 and was formally charged with domestic violence and attempted femicide shortly afterward. The case has moved through the Mexican legal system for over two years before arriving at Tuesday’s guilty verdict.
The conviction comes while Vaquer is currently sidelined from WWE television with a legitimate shoulder injury. She was written off programming following a backstage attack segment involving Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez on Raw, with Michael Cole announcing she had suffered a second-degree AC sprain. Bryan Alvarez confirmed the injury is real, and no return timetable has been established, though there is internal optimism she could be back for SummerSlam.
Vaquer signed with WWE in 2024 after establishing herself as one of the premier women’s wrestlers in Mexico and Japan. She competed on the NXT brand before transitioning to the main roster and challenged Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 42.
