Sol Ruca revealed she had no idea she was going to appear on WWE Raw this week. The last-minute booking came as a complete surprise during her Las Vegas trip for WrestleMania 42 week.

Speaking after her Raw debut on April 20, Ruca said she initially traveled to Vegas for World matches and media obligations. A few days in, plans changed entirely.

“It feels absolutely incredible. This is not what I was expecting at all. I came here to do World matches, some media stuff, and then a few days in they were like, ‘Actually, you’re gonna be on Raw,’” Ruca said. “And I was like, ‘Oh, okay, cool, good thing I brought extra clothes and gear and stuff.’”

Even once she was booked, Ruca said she assumed it would be a limited role until she arrived at the arena.

“Honestly I thought it was gonna be a crowd shot or a backstage or what have you. And getting here they were like, ‘Promo, match, interviews, all that.’ And I’m like, ‘Alright, this is it, this is my time to make my moment and prove myself.’”

Ruca Sees Raw Spot as a Vote of Confidence

Ruca was thrown in against Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan on the Raw after WrestleMania, interrupting Morgan’s celebration promo before Raw GM Adam Pearce made the non-title match official. Ruca put on a strong performance before Zaria interfered and allowed Morgan to finish the match with Oblivion.

Despite the loss, Ruca said the booking itself sent a message.

“Especially being in the ring with Liv Morgan who just came off of a huge win at WrestleMania, and her mic work, her ring work is so incredible, and to be put in that position, it honestly gave me a confidence boost, like, ‘Yeah, clearly they know that I can do this and I’m here for a reason.’”

The crowd was firmly behind Ruca throughout the match, chanting her name as she hit a series of high-flying sequences including a Sol Snatcher on the champion. Ruca also took out Judgment Day members Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez at ringside before Zaria’s interference turned the tide.
