A GoFundMe campaign has been launched for professional wrestler Joe Doring, who is currently battling brain cancer for the third time in nearly 10 years.
The campaign, organized by Doring’s sister-in-law Mandy, reveals that the veteran wrestler is undergoing chemotherapy with at least five more months of treatment ahead after already completing radiation.
“As my brother in-law approaches 10 years of battling Brain Cancer, he finds himself in the midst of battling a third brain tumor,” the campaign description reads.
Doring’s 2022 brain stem surgery resulted in ataxia on his right side, significantly impacting his mobility. He now primarily uses a wheelchair in daily life, a dramatic change for the former professional athlete.
Despite these challenges, Doring’s family says he has maintained a positive outlook throughout his decade-long fight.
“He chooses not to feel sorry for himself and battles his journey very privately,” Mandy wrote. “I feel after 10 years, to show Joe more love — that he still has support and encouragement — will help him embark on this latest battle.”
With Doring having no family in Canada, the financial and caregiving responsibilities have fallen entirely on his wife. The GoFundMe aims to help alleviate medical bills and support the family during this difficult time.
