  • Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre Set for Three Stages of Hell Match in Berlin

Drew McIntyre made a stunning announcement on the December 26 episode of WWE SmackDown, revealing he will face Cody Rhodes in a Three Stages of Hell match for the Undisputed WWE Championship on January 9, 2026, in Berlin, Germany.

The rare stipulation marks the first Three Stages of Hell match in over 12 years and only the sixth in WWE history. McIntyre earned the right to choose the stipulation as part of his reinstatement deal with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis after being suspended for attacking referee Dan Engler with a Claymore.

Before making the announcement, McIntyre attempted to provoke Rhodes by making personal jabs about his family. When Rhodes tried to confront him, Aldis physically restrained the champion, warning that any physical contact would result in Rhodes being stripped of the title. After revealing the match stipulation, McIntyre crossed the line by telling Rhodes, \”When I send you straight to hell, say hi to your dad for me!\”

The comment about Dusty Rhodes pushed Cody over the edge. He shoved Aldis aside, but walked directly into a Claymore Kick from McIntyre.

The match will take place at the Uber Arena in Berlin on SmackDown\’s first three-hour episode of 2026. A Three Stages of Hell match requires one competitor to win two out of three falls, with each fall contested under different match stipulations. The specific stipulations for Rhodes vs. McIntyre have not yet been announced.

Previous Three Stages of Hell matches include Triple H vs. Steve Austin (2001), Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels (2002), Triple H vs. Randy Orton (2009), John Cena vs. Ryback (2013), and Johnny Gargano vs. Adam Cole (2019).

  • WWE Backlash Returning to Puerto Rico in 2026

WWE Backlash is set to return to San Juan, Puerto Rico in 2026, according to POST Wrestling.

While WWE has not officially confirmed the date, a source with access to an internal WWE calendar indicates Backlash is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2026. This marks a return to the Caribbean island for the premium live event, which previously took place in Puerto Rico during WWE’s international expansion of the Backlash brand.

The early scheduling reveals WWE’s long-term planning for its 2026 premium live event calendar. Puerto Rico has proven to be a strong market for WWE, with passionate fans consistently creating electric atmospheres for televised events and live specials.

WWE has not yet made an official announcement regarding Backlash 2026’s location or date. The company typically confirms premium live event locations and venues several months in advance, though internal planning occurs much earlier.

Backlash has become one of WWE’s key annual premium live events since transitioning from a SmackDown-exclusive show to a global touring brand. The event’s willingness to travel internationally has taken it to France and Puerto Rico in recent years.

  • AEW Worlds End 2025 Betting Odds: World Title Change Heavily Favored

With AEW Worlds End set for Saturday, December 27, 2025, betting markets have established clear favorites across the card’s championship matches. Here are the favorites and underdogs, courtesy of Betonline.ag:

    World Championship Four-Way Match

MJF enters as the overwhelming favorite at -375 odds to capture the AEW World Championship. Current champion Samoa Joe sits at +250, while Swerve Strickland (+700) and Hangman Adam Page (+850) are considered longshots. The odds suggest bookmakers expect MJF to leave Chicago with the title.

    Tag Team Championship Street Fight

FTR’s odds of -2000 make them the heaviest favorites on the entire card to retain their Tag Team Championships against Bang Bang Gang (+700) in a Chicago Street Fight. The lopsided numbers indicate little expectation of a title change.

    Women’s Championship Matches

Both women’s champions are projected to retain. Kris Statlander holds -1000 odds to defeat challenger Jamie Heyter (+550) for the Women’s World Championship.

In tag team action, the Babes of Wrath are even heavier favorites at -1500 against the team of Mercedes Mone and Athena (+600).

    Singles Competition

Darby Allin enters his match against Gabe Kidd as a strong -500 favorite, with Kidd positioned as a +300 underdog.

All betting lines close Saturday at 6:00 PM EST.

Main Event: AEW World Championship Fatal Four-Way

Samoa Joe (c) vs. “Hangman” Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland vs. MJF

The main event brings together four of AEW’s biggest stars in a volatile championship showdown. Samoa Joe captured the AEW World Championship at Full Gear by defeating Hangman Page inside a steel cage after interference from Hook, who turned on Page during the match. Following his loss, Page immediately challenged Joe to a rematch at Worlds End.

The match became a triple threat when Swerve Strickland, who returned at Full Gear to confront Joe, declared himself the rightful number one contender on Collision: Winter is Coming. The situation escalated dramatically at the December 17 Dynamite: Holiday Bash contract signing when MJF made his surprise return after a three-month absence following All Out. The former champion invoked his Casino Gauntlet contract to insert himself into the match, creating the four-way scenario.

This match represents a collision of intertwined rivalries. Joe ended MJF’s historic title reign at Worlds End 2023, while Strickland defeated Joe for his first AEW World Championship at Dynasty earlier this year. Page and Strickland share a complex history of brutal rivalry that has evolved into an uneasy alliance, with both men seeking to reclaim championship glory. With three former champions challenging the current titleholder, the outcome could dramatically reshape AEW’s main event scene heading into 2026.

    Continental Classic Tournament Conclusion

    Continental Classic Semifinal Matches

    Kazuchika Okada vs. Konosuke Takeshita

Gold League co-winner Kazuchika Okada faces Blue League winner Konosuke Takeshita in what promises to be a clash of styles and ambitions. Okada enters as the defending Continental Classic champion and current AEW International Champion, holding both titles as part of his unified championship reign. The tournament winner from 2024 locked in his semifinal spot with a victory over Mike Bailey on Christmas Collision.

Takeshita has been on an absolute tear throughout 2025, wrestling the second-most matches on the AEW roster and delivering consistently exceptional performances in the Continental Classic. His combination of power and precision has made him one of the promotion’s most dominant forces. This match pits Okada’s arrogance and championship experience against Takeshita’s momentum and hunger for gold.

    Kyle Fletcher vs. Jon Moxley

TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher squares off against Death Riders leader Jon Moxley in the second semifinal. Fletcher has arguably been the MVP of the entire tournament, delivering standout performances throughout the round-robin stage, particularly his acclaimed match against Kevin Knight. The Gold League co-winner secured his semifinal berth by edging out Jack Perry on Christmas Collision.

Moxley, the Blue League runner-up, advanced with a victory over Orange Cassidy. The former AEW World Champion has experienced a rollercoaster 2025, losing the world title to Page at All In and suffering multiple high-profile defeats, yet he remains one of the most dangerous competitors in the company. This marks the first singles encounter between Fletcher and Moxley, with Fletcher appearing positioned for a major push in 2026.

    Continental Classic Final

The winners of both semifinal matches will meet later in the evening to determine the 2025 Continental Classic champion and crown a new AEW Continental Champion. With Okada’s unified championship status, the tournament carries even greater significance for the promotion’s championship hierarchy.

    Women’s Championship Matches

    AEW Women’s World Championship

Kris Statlander (c) vs. Jamie Hayter

Champion Kris Statlander defends her title against Jamie Hayter in what represents Hayter’s closest opportunity to reclaim championship gold since losing the belt to Toni Storm in 2023. The path to this match took an unconventional route, as Statlander and Hayter have been allies rather than enemies in recent weeks.

After the pair teamed up to defeat Julia Hart and Skye Blue on the December 13 Collision, Hayter challenged Statlander for a title match at Worlds End. The champion accepted, setting up a respectful but competitive showdown between two of AEW’s most physical performers. Statlander has held the championship with pride since winning it in a four-way match, taking on all challengers and most recently defeating Mercedes Moné. This marks her fourth title defense of this reign.

Hayter returned from injury with strong momentum and has rebuilt herself as a major contender through fierce and explosive performances. While Hayter represents AEW’s future as a multi-time champion, Statlander’s reign still feels incomplete, making this a difficult match to predict.

AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship

Babes of Wrath (Harley Cameron & Willow Nightingale) (c) vs. Mercedes Moné & Athena

The inaugural AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions make their first title defense against a formidable duo of singles champions. Cameron and Nightingale captured the titles by winning the tournament and have quickly established themselves as a cohesive and effective team, with their partnership bringing out the best in both performers.

Challengers Mercedes Moné (AEW TBS Champion) and Athena (ROH Women’s World Champion, who has held her title for over 1,000 days) represent championship pedigree and proven excellence. The history between these teams dates to the tournament’s first round, where the Babes of Wrath eliminated Moné and Athena en route to winning the titles.

On the December 17 Dynamite, Moné pinned Nightingale in an eight-woman tag team match before issuing the championship challenge backstage. While Moné and Athena are individually dominant, they have limited experience as a tag team, whereas the Babes of Wrath have developed strong chemistry and carry the responsibility of establishing credibility for the new championship.

Chicago Street Fight for AEW World Tag Team Championship

FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) (c) vs. Bang Bang Gang (Austin Gunn & Juice Robinson)

The legendary tag team of FTR defends their AEW World Tag Team Championships under Chicago Street Fight rules against the resilient Bang Bang Gang. Despite suffering injuries throughout their AEW tenure, Gunn and Robinson have demonstrated tremendous heart and determination, including a competitive loss to FTR at the December 17 Collision.

FTR successfully defended the titles against Bang Bang Gang at Collision Holiday Bash, but the rematch with no disqualifications and falls counting anywhere adds an unpredictable element. The Street Fight stipulation favors the challengers by negating FTR’s technical advantages and allowing for a more chaotic environment where anything can happen.

    Singles Competition

    Darby Allin vs. Gabe Kidd

This match represents Darby Allin’s return to singles action after dropping out of the Continental Classic due to injury. Allin seeks revenge against Gabe Kidd, who choked him out as a hired mercenary for the Death Riders at Blood & Guts. The rivalry recently reignited following Allin’s return to action after recovering from a hospitalization following an accident against Kevin Knight.

Kidd, a rising star from New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s LA Dojo and member of Bullet Club War Dogs, has long been associated with Jon Moxley’s faction. He brings his own savage brand of violence to match Allin’s daredevil style. Allin has built his reputation by pulling off high-stakes victories against the most dangerous opponents, and Kidd fits the mold of Darby’s greatest rivals. This clash of styles could produce one of the night’s most hard-hitting encounters.

    Mixed Nuts Mayhem Match

The Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, PAC & Marina Shafir) vs. The Conglomeration (Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy & Roderick Strong) & Toni Storm

AEW has not yet fully explained the rules or format for this eight-person Mixed Nuts Mayhem match, adding intrigue to the contest. The match features members of The Death Riders faction against a coalition of The Conglomeration and Toni Storm, with the presence of Marina Shafir, Mark Briscoe, and Storm suggesting the potential for a bloody and physical encounter.

Castagnoli and Shafir have been experiencing particularly strong runs in recent weeks, making them favorites to secure victory for their team. The match format appears similar to AEW’s Anarchy in the Arena style, with chaotic rules that should favor the Death Riders’ aggressive approach.

    Zero Hour Pre-Show

Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart & Skye Blue) vs. Hyan & Maya World

The Zero Hour pre-show features a women’s tag team match with the Sisters of Sin duo of Hart and Blue facing Hyan and Maya World. Based on the Sisters of Sin’s recent momentum, they enter as favorites in this opening contest. The match will stream free on AEW’s YouTube channel starting at 7:00 PM ET.

    Looking Ahead

AEW Worlds End 2025 represents the company’s final pay-per-view of the year and carries significant implications for the promotion’s direction heading into 2026. With championship matches across every major division, the conclusion of the Continental Classic tournament, and the return of MJF to championship contention, Saturday’s event promises to deliver the high-stakes drama and exceptional in-ring action that has defined AEW’s pay-per-view offerings throughout 2025.

The NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates will host its fifth AEW pay-per-view and seventh overall event in the Chicago metropolitan area, continuing the promotion’s strong relationship with the passionate Chicago wrestling fanbase.

AEW Worlds End 2025 airs live Saturday, December 27 at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT on pay-per-view through multiple platforms, with the Zero Hour pre-show beginning one hour earlier on AEW’s YouTube channel.

  • Remembering Brodie Lee On 5-Year Anniversary Of His Passing

Today marks five years since the wrestling world lost Jon Huber, known to fans as Brodie Lee in AEW and Luke Harper in WWE, who passed away on December 26, 2020, at the age of 41.

Huber died from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a rare lung condition that caused his sudden hospitalization in late October 2020. His death sent shockwaves through the wrestling industry, with both WWE and AEW honoring his legacy in the years since.

The beloved performer left an indelible mark on professional wrestling during his career. In WWE, he was a key member of the Wyatt Family and Bludgeon Brothers, capturing the Intercontinental Championship and SmackDown Tag Team Championship twice.

After joining AEW in 2020, he became the ruthless leader of The Dark Order and won the TNT Championship, delivering some of the best work of his career.

His widow, Amanda Huber, recently shared an emotional birthday tribute on December 16, what would have been Jon’s 46th birthday. “Happy birthday baby. I miss you all the time. I can’t believe it’s been five years of not celebrating your birthday with you,” she wrote, describing how their sons Brodie Jr. and Nolan both carry their father’s spirit and characteristics.

AEW’s December 30, 2020 “Celebration of Life” tribute episode remains one of the most beloved wrestling broadcasts in history, with Tony Khan awarding Brodie Jr. the TNT Championship for life and retiring the championship’s red strap design in Jon’s honor.

The wrestling community continues to honor Huber’s memory annually, with tributes pouring in from wrestlers across all promotions, ensuring his legacy lives on.

  • WWE SmackDown Preview (December 26): Joe Hendry’s Holiday Concert

The final SmackDown of 2025 emanates from the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan, featuring a United States Championship match, Joe Hendry’s SmackDown debut, and the culmination of Drew McIntyre’s return storyline. This marks the last two-hour SmackDown before the show expands to three hours in 2026.

United States Championship: Ilja Dragunov (c) vs. Carmelo Hayes

After announcing the end of his United States Championship Open Challenge, Ilja Dragunov grants Carmelo Hayes one final rematch. The two men teamed together on last week’s SmackDown to defeat DIY, but now it’s every man for himself. Hayes previously challenged Dragunov unsuccessfully earlier this month, and this represents Melo’s best opportunity to capture his first main roster singles championship. Given the respect these competitors have shown each other, expect a hard-hitting contest regardless of outcome.

Miracle on 34th Street Fight: Joe Hendry vs. The Miz

Former TNA World Champion Joe Hendry makes his in-ring SmackDown debut in holiday-appropriate fashion. The show opens with a Hendry concert featuring a festive remix of “Jingle Bells” directed at his opponent. The Miz has been demanding this match since Hendry embarrassed him at Saturday Night’s Main Event, and now he gets his wish — with a Christmas twist. Expect tables, trees, and presents to come into play, plus Alpha Academy at ringside with Otis dressed as Santa Claus, Tozawa as an elf, and R-Truth joining the festivities.

    Charlotte Flair vs. Lash Legend

The Queen looks to build momentum as she returns to championship contention. Lash Legend has been making waves alongside Nia Jax, but Charlotte Flair remains one of the most decorated women in WWE history. A win here keeps Flair in position for future title opportunities.

Giulia & Kiana James vs. Chelsea Green & Alba Fyre

The women’s tag team division heats up as four competitors battle to establish dominance. A backstage confrontation between multiple women’s teams sets up an 8-woman tag match for the first SmackDown of January to determine #1 contenders for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Tonight’s winners will carry serious momentum into that crucial bout.

    Segments to Watch

  • Jim Ross Responds to D-Von Dudley\’s Racism Allegations

Jim Ross has finally addressed racism allegations made by D-Von Dudley in October 2025, calling the claims \”absurd\” during the December 25th edition of his Grilling JR podcast.

D-Von previously stated he experienced racism from \”certain top officials\” in WWE, specifically naming Jim Ross and alleging JR said, \”I don\’t like you because of the color of your skin.\”

When co-host Conrad Thompson played a clip of D-Von\’s comments and gave JR a chance to respond, the WWE Hall of Famer categorically denied the allegation.

\”That\’s so absurd, it doesn\’t merit a response,\” Ross stated. \”I never said that to D-Von Dudley. And why he would conjure up that — I guess to get attention. Maybe he\’s not as happy with his post-wrestling life as Bubba is.\”

JR emphasized his respect for The Dudley Boyz, noting he hired the team and helped book their legendary TLC matches.

\”I like D-Von. I like him today. I hired he and Bubba. I thought we did a good job of booking them. They made money,\” Ross explained.

Despite the denial, Ross said he holds no anger toward D-Von: \”I\’m not angry at D-Von. I\’m just curious and don\’t understand why he went there. I just don\’t get it.\”

With Continental Classic implications, championship opportunities, and major storylines converging on Christmas Eve, AEW Dynamite on 34th Street promises to be essential viewing heading into Worlds End.

Continental Classic Blue League: Takeshita vs. Cassidy

IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Konosuke Takeshita faces Orange Cassidy in what could be the Blue League\’s most pivotal match. Takeshita enters undefeated at 2-0-1 with seven points, tied with Claudio Castagnoli atop the standings. A victory over Cassidy would clinch Takeshita\’s spot in the Continental Classic semifinals at Worlds End. Cassidy sits at 2-1 with six points and would take over sole possession of first place with a win. The Don Callis Family member has been dominant throughout the tournament, but Freshly Squeezed has proven he can rise to the biggest occasions.

Dynamite Diamond Ring Final: Ricochet vs. Bandido

For the first time in the Dynamite Diamond Ring\’s history, MJF won\’t be competing for or defending the prestigious prize. After winning the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale in Manchester last week, AEW National Champion Ricochet and ROH World Champion Bandido were the final two men standing, setting up tonight\’s dream match. The winner receives the Dynamite Diamond Ring and an AEW World Championship match at Maximum Carnage on January 14 in Phoenix. This marks the first-ever singles meeting between two of 2025\’s standout performers, with both champions looking to add another accolade to their impressive year.

    MJF Returns to Action

Speaking of MJF, the self-proclaimed \”Devil Himself\” competes for the first time since August after shocking the wrestling world with his return in Manchester last week. MJF cashed in his Casino Gauntlet contract to insert himself into the AEW World Championship match at Worlds End, turning the anticipated three-way between Samoa Joe, Hangman Page, and Swerve Strickland into a fatal four-way. Tonight, MJF shakes off the ring rust against an opponent to be determined while his three Worlds End rivals surely watch closely.

Continental Classic Gold League: PAC vs. Jack Perry

The Gold League features a brutal encounter between PAC and \”Jungle\” Jack Perry, facing each other for the first time with significant playoff implications. PAC enters at 2-1 with six points, while Perry sits at 1-2 with three points. Both men are known for their aggressive, physical style, and this has all the makings of a war. Perry has embraced a darker persona since his return, bringing homemade knives and vicious intent to every match, while PAC represents the Death Riders with his trademark intensity.

    Shirakawa vs. Shafir

Mina Shirakawa seeks revenge for \”Timeless\” Toni Storm after the events of the 8-Woman Tag Match at Dynamite Holiday Bash last week. Shirakawa and Death Riders member Marina Shafir have battled several times over the past month, but tonight marks their first one-on-one encounter. The rivalry between Timeless Love Bombs and MegaProblems continues to escalate, with no shortage of animosity between these two competitors.

    Statlander and Hayter Face-to-Face

Just three days before their AEW Women\’s World Championship match at Worlds End, champion Kris Statlander and challenger Jamie Hayter will meet face-to-face in an interview segment. Statlander has welcomed all challengers since capturing the title, while Hayter has promised to bring a different version of herself to this championship bout. The former allies turned rivals will have plenty to say before their words turn to action this Saturday.

Continental Classic Blue League: Strong vs. Dorada

Roderick Strong looks to play spoiler when he faces Máscara Dorada in Blue League action. Strong has been mathematically eliminated at 0-3, but Dorada clings to life with three points after his shocking upset of Claudio Castagnoli two weeks ago on Collision. While Dorada\’s playoff hopes remain slim, he\’ll look to build momentum with another signature victory. How will Strong wrestle with nothing left to lose?

AEW Dynamite airs tonight at 6pm ET/5pm CT on TBS and Max.

  • Roman Reigns Delivers Pizza to Sick Children at Hospital Days Before Christmas

WWE Superstar Roman Reigns showed his generous side this week, personally delivering pizzas to sick children at a local hospital just two days before Christmas.

The heartwarming gesture was documented by Mimi\’s restaurant owner on Instagram, who praised the Tribal Chief for his compassion and dedication to the cause. \”I don\’t know if you know this guy story but he is a true hero,\” the post read. \”It\’s two days before Christmas and all the money in the world and this guy is picking up pizza to deliver to the sick kids at the hospital on his own time.\”

    https://www.instagram.com/p/DSoEKLfFdl6/?igsh=MXZhbmUzNDNmeHl4NQ==

The restaurant owner revealed that Reigns coordinated the entire charitable effort independently, with the establishment staying open for 10 straight hours to fulfill all the orders. \”They don\’t make them like this guy. This guy is what you call a true life hero,\” the post continued.

This act of kindness demonstrates Reigns\’ commitment to giving back to the community beyond his WWE persona. The former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion took time from his personal schedule to bring holiday cheer to children spending Christmas in the hospital, embodying the spirit of the season through action rather than publicity.

The gesture has resonated with fans and the local community, showing the positive impact wrestlers can make outside the ring.

We think that can be a good one,\” Spitzer said, naming the project alongside documentaries on Mike Tyson and Deion Sanders.

The documentary is being directed by Bryan Storkel and produced by Words + Pictures in collaboration with WWE. The project centers on more than twenty hours of new interviews with Hogan recorded before his passing, offering what may be the wrestling icon\’s final extensive on-camera reflections on his legendary career.

No release date has been announced for the Hulk Hogan documentary, but Netflix is positioning it as one of its key upcoming sports titles as the platform continues expanding its wrestling and combat sports content library.

\”That guy is a wealth of knowledge. I spend every second I can with him backstage when we\’re not wrestling, just learning the craft. He\’s taught me a bunch,\” Logan said.

The social media star revealed a specific example of Heyman\’s influence, citing tensions with CM Punk:

\”One thing that he\’s definitely taught me is that with him by my side, I have someone on the executive team who can speak for me so I don\’t have to make stupid decisions backstage where I would lose my job, like attacking CM Punk because he pisses me off.\”

Instead of letting impulses derail his WWE career, Logan uses Heyman as a diplomatic intermediary.

\”I can just go to Paul Heyman and he can talk to the executives and handle it professionally. He keeps me in check.\”

  • Paul Heyman Credits Gabe Sapolsky For Discovering Austin Theory

Paul Heyman set the record straight about Austin Theory\’s path to WWE, publicly crediting talent scout Gabe Sapolsky for discovering the rising star.

Responding to a social media post about Theory\’s WWE journey, Heyman clarified his role in the process. \”For the record, @BookItGabe deserves all the credit for the discovery of @_Theory1,\” Heyman wrote. \”As Executive Director of @WWE #RAW in 2019/2020, I drafted Theory from @WWENXT for (ironically enough) @WWERollins\’ group.\”

    https://x.com/heymanhustle/status/2003645010995040698

Heyman praised Theory\’s evolution since those early days, describing him as \”a seasoned veteran with a chip on his shoulder ready to step into the spotlight.\” The acknowledgment highlights Theory\’s transformation from NXT prospect to a main roster performer positioned for a potential push.

Sapolsky, a respected figure in wrestling talent development, graciously responded to Heyman\’s recognition. \”I love the independents! Talent like Austin Theory make my job relevant and keep me inspired so everyday I have the same enthusiasm as I did on day 1,\” Sapolsky shared.

    https://x.com/bookitgabe/status/2003647311780675934

The public exchange between Heyman and Sapolsky reflects their long professional history. Sapolsky served as a writer and booker during ECW\’s groundbreaking run in the 1990s, working closely with Heyman during one of wrestling\’s most influential eras before building his own legacy as a talent scout and independent wrestling promoter.

  • WWE Rumors (Dec. 23): New Commentary Teams, WWE Draft Bust

Here\’s your WWE Rumor Roundup for Tuesday, December 23, 2025, featuring the the latest reports and rumors from around the wrestling world.

ESPN Wanted WWE Draft, But Idea Never Got Off the Ground

According to TC of WrestleVotes, ESPN was interested in featuring the WWE Draft on its streaming platform in 2025, but the idea never materialized because it doesn\’t work in a premium live event setting. \”I know ESPN definitely wanted to have the draft on their platform, but it doesn\’t really work in a PLE setting,\” TC noted. \”The draft is more of a Raw and SmackDown thing.\” TC added that WWE\’s formatting and ESPN\’s expectations didn\’t mesh, making the concept difficult to execute. The way WWE formats its shows doesn\’t line up with what ESPN would be offering to the audience, and it\’s hard to picture what a WWE TV draft would even look like in that format.

Huge Hype Around Carmelo Hayes Following US Title Win

According to multiple sources, there is significant backstage hype surrounding Carmelo Hayes following his United States Championship victory at the December 26 SmackDown tapings. Hayes defeated Ilja Dragunov to capture the title in Grand Rapids, Michigan, earning an overwhelmingly positive reaction from those in attendance and backstage.

The former NXT Champion has been viewed as a breakout star with main event potential, and this title win marks a major milestone in his main roster career.

Andrade Free To Sign Anywhere After WWE Waives Non-Compete

According to Fightful, Andrade is now free to sign with any promotion after WWE agreed to waive his non-compete clause. The report notes that this came together after RUSH connected Andrade with an attorney who has a strong working relationship with WWE, helping facilitate the agreement.

Andrade is now a free agent and can appear for any wrestling promotion without any restrictions from WWE. The waiving of the non-compete clause is relatively rare and shows goodwill between Andrade and WWE management.

  • Seth Rollins Provides Recovery Timeline Update Following Rotator Cuff Surgery

Seth Rollins has offered an update on his recovery from rotator cuff surgery, though the timeline should be taken with caution given WWE’s history of working fans on injury returns.

Speaking on Mohr Stories podcast, Rollins stated he’s approximately eight to nine weeks into his recovery process.

“I have a few more months left with my shoulder. I had the rotator cuff surgery eight weeks ago, almost nine from where we’re talking right now,” Rollins explained. “So, you know, I got another three months, four months at least.”

If accurate, the timeline would put Rollins’ potential return somewhere in the spring 2025 timeframe, possibly positioning him for a WrestleMania 41 return.

    https://youtu.be/jNYq7yCqljA?si=7n_Ng_LX_0dShlyQ

However, WWE fans should approach these projections cautiously. The company has a long-established pattern of wrestlers—including Rollins himself—providing longer recovery estimates than actual healing time to maximize surprise returns. This strategic misdirection allows WWE to generate bigger reactions when performers return ahead of their stated schedules.

Seth Rollins suffered a serious shoulder injury, including a torn rotator cuff, during his match with Cody Rhodes at WWE Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia, on October 11, 2025, when a coast?to?coast headbutt landing went wrong. He jammed his elbow into his shoulder on the landing but continued the match.

Whether Rollins returns in three to four months as stated, or surprises fans with an earlier comeback, remains to be seen.

  • NXT Stars From John Cena Retirement Show Heading to Main Roster

WWE is preparing to graduate multiple NXT stars to the main roster following their appearances at John Cena’s retirement show, according to PWInsider’s Mike Johnson.

“Basically, you can expect all the NXT talents that were spotlighted at the John Cena retirement show to be main roster bound sooner than later,” Johnson reported.

The comment comes after WWE announced Je’Von Evans as a “soon to be free agent” during the December 22 episode of Raw. Michael Cole made the announcement as the 21-year-old entered the arena, with Raw General Manager Adam Pearce expressing interest in signing him. Evans defeated Rayo Americano and is expected to join the main roster in 2026.

Trick Williams has already begun his transition, appearing on the December 19 SmackDown as a free agent seeking to sign with a brand. Despite debuting on SmackDown, Williams is not yet officially assigned internally to either brand.

Other NXT stars featured prominently at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 include Oba Femi, Sol Ruca, Joe Hendry, and TNA’s Leon Slater. WWE officials were reportedly “very impressed” with their performances, viewing Femi, Ruca, and Evans as potential future superstars.

The “free agent” strategy allows WWE to showcase these talents on both Raw and SmackDown before making final roster assignments, creating a bidding war storyline between the brands heading into 2026.

  • Mike Tyson and Ric Flair Sue Former Cannabis Business Partners for $50 Million

Boxing legend Mike Tyson and wrestling icon Ric Flair have filed a massive $50 million lawsuit against former executives of their cannabis company Carma, alleging fraud, embezzlement, and racketeering.

The 76-page complaint, filed December 17 in U.S. District Court in Illinois and obtained by Front Office Sports, names Chad Bronstein, Adam Wilks, Nicole Cosby, and James Case as defendants. Bronstein previously served as Carma’s president and chairman and is now co-founder of Hulk Hogan’s Real American Freestyle wrestling promotion. Wilks served as CEO, while Cosby was chief legal and licensing officer.

According to the lawsuit, the defendants engaged in a “brazen RICO conspiracy involving criminal wire fraud, embezzlement, money laundering, and extortion” that enriched them “to the tune of tens of millions of dollars.” The suit alleges Bronstein and Wilks “treated CARMA as their own personal piggy bank, using more than $1 million to pay for unauthorized personal travel on private jets, costs associated with Bronstein’s personal yacht, renovations to Bronstein’s personal residence, a mortgage payment for Wilks’ personal residence.”

The defendants’ attorneys strongly denied the claims. Jonathan Cyrluk, representing Bronstein and Cosby, called the complaint “fiction dressed up as a lawsuit,” adding his clients “won’t be bullied and are prepared to knock out this meritless lawsuit in court.” Terry Campbell, Wilks’ attorney, dismissed the allegations as “without substance,” calling the suit “an attempt to spit out an earful of salacious headlines.”

Carma and LGNDS distribute the Tyson 2.0 and Ric Flair Drip cannabis brands. This lawsuit follows a previous July 2025 case where Carma sued Bronstein and Cosby over alleged misappropriation of information related to Hogan’s Real American Beer brand.

  • WWE Champion Already Planning WrestleMania 42 Entrance

WWE Women\’s Champion Jade Cargill is thinking far ahead, revealing she\’s already planned her entrance for WrestleMania 42 next April.

Speaking on The Collection with Brad Gilmore, Cargill disclosed she\’s been working on the concept since October and is ready to submit it to WWE creative for approval.

\”I\’ve already pinpointed the entrance I want to have, I\’m gonna shoot that over to creative, let’s hope that\’s approved,\” Cargill said. \”As far as gear, that\’s going to depend on my entrance. I have two options, lets see how the entrance goes, and that\’s going to create my idea for the entrance outfit.\”

The champion explained her meticulous approach to WrestleMania presentations, noting she conducts extensive research for both entrances and attire. Her WrestleMania 41 entrance this past April paid tribute to Tyler the Creator\’s memorable 2021 BET Awards performance, which featured a dramatic windstorm theme.

\”My WrestleMania entrance last year was a tribute to Tyler the Creator at the BET Awards, where he went through the whole storm as he was walking,\” Cargill revealed. \”It was more intricate, but that was a tribute to his BET performance that I thought was phenomenal, and I was wondering how I could turn up the storm.\”

Cargill is currently 2-0 at WrestleMania and captured the WWE Women\’s Championship from Tiffany Stratton at Saturday Night\’s Main Event in November. WrestleMania 42 takes place April 18-19, 2026 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

  • Harley Cameron Credits WWE for Green Card, Wrestling Training

AEW star Harley Cameron has revealed that WWE played a crucial role in her journey to becoming a professional wrestler, helping her secure a green card and access to training despite never signing with the company.

Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show on December 22, Cameron explained how WWE’s involvement set her career in motion.

“I will say thank you to [WWE] because thanks to them, I have my green card. Thanks to them, I learned to wrestle. They helped me with my wrestling training to Flatbacks,” she said.

The Australian-born wrestler trained at Flatbacks Wrestling School in Orlando, Florida under Tyler Breeze and Shawn Spears beginning in 2021. However, plans for Cameron to join WWE fell through when personnel changes occurred within the company.

“I believe they went through transitional stages where in their office, certain people were perhaps released from the company,” Cameron noted.

Without her green card, Cameron worked unpaid at independent wrestling events while waiting for authorization to be compensated for her work. The setback ultimately led to opportunity when AEW came calling in 2022.

“After being in this country for so long and knowing that I want to be a professional wrestler, and this door opened for me, I went to AEW, and I’m so glad I did because I feel like it’s where I was meant to be,” Cameron said.

Her persistence paid off. On December 11, 2024, Cameron and Willow Nightingale defeated the Timeless Love Bombs to become the inaugural AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions at Dynamite: Winter is Coming, marking Cameron’s first championship in professional wrestling.

“I think that sometimes when you think the universe is saying no to you, it’s because it has other plans,” Cameron reflected.

  • Tony Khan Confident in Warner Bros. Discovery Partnership Amid Merger Uncertainty

AEW President Tony Khan has dismissed concerns about his company\’s future amid Warner Bros. Discovery\’s ongoing merger drama, declaring the promotion has \”a lot of certainty\” despite industry turbulence surrounding its broadcast partner.

Speaking with Scott Fishman for TV Insider ahead of of AEW Worlds End, Khan addressed the elephant in the room as WBD faces competing acquisition bids from Netflix and Paramount Skydance. While the media giant\’s board recently rejected Paramount\’s hostile $108 billion takeover offer in favor of Netflix\’s $82.7 billion deal, Khan remained bullish on AEW\’s position.

\”2025 is the most exciting year yet for AEW and our partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery was reimagined this year and will continue for years to come,\” Khan said. \”We\’re locked in with TNT, TBS, and HBO Max for over two more years.\”

Khan pointed to WBD CEO David Zaslav as AEW\’s steadfast supporter, revealing he recently received a holiday gift from the executive that he plans to utilize in upcoming programming. The AEW boss emphasized Zaslav\’s pivotal role in launching AEW Collision and securing the promotion\’s streaming presence on HBO Max.

\”The person who is making the calls and has always been a believer in AEW continues to be David Zaslav,\” Khan stated, praising the CEO as one of Hollywood\’s most successful studio heads.

AEW secured a multi-year extension with WBD in October 2024, valued at approximately $185 million annually. The deal brought Dynamite and Collision to Max for the first time, with pay-per-views following in 2025. Khan noted that Dynamite has become the longest-running primetime wrestling show in TBS and TNT history, continuing Turner\’s wrestling tradition dating back to 1971.

Despite Wall Street uncertainty surrounding WBD\’s ownership future—with Netflix\’s deal not expected to close until Q3 2026 following the company\’s planned split—Khan expressed unwavering confidence in AEW\’s broadcast future.

\”David Zaslav is putting out hit after hit,\” Khan said. \”I\’m very proud he has made the big investment in AEW. There is a lot of excitement around the future of Warner Bros.\”

AEW Worlds End takes place December 28 in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, capping what Sports Illustrated named the \”Promotion of the Year\” for 2025.

  • The Rock vs Triple H: $80M Board Director At Center Of WWE Power Struggle

A brewing power struggle between The Rock and Triple H within WWE\’s corporate structure has been alleged by former WWE announcer Jonathan Coachman, who claims firsthand knowledge of tension between the two legendary performers. The allegations come as The Rock\’s $80 million compensation package raises questions about his role within the merged WWE-UFC entity.

The controversy centers on The Rock\’s notably silent social media presence regarding WWE despite earning over $80 million as a TKO board director over the past two years, according to Wrestling Observer. That figure doesn\’t include merchandise earnings, WrestleMania pay, or live appearance fees.

\”Do you know a lot of talents who make over $80M and DON\’T send any supportive tweets or videos towards the company during that time,\” Coachman questioned on Twitter/X. \”The only social media posts have been directly towards Cena.\”

What Did Jonathan Coachman Say About The Rock and Triple H?

Coachman, who worked with WWE from 1999-2018, made striking claims about the relationship between Rock and Triple H, who now serves as WWE\’s Chief Content Officer.

\”You have to understand I was in the room several times and know first hand the REAL relationship between Rock and HHH. They don\’t get along. Period,\” Coachman stated. \”If they did Rock would have supported this year all along the way. He hasn\’t. Not ONE social media post.\”

The former announcer added context about The Rock\’s board appointment: \”Most members of boards are there for their business acumen. Rock was asked to be on the board for so many other reasons. Not to mention he is 1 of the 3 best performers of all time.\”

Coachman concluded with an ominous assessment: \”The struggle for power is real.\”

The Rock joined TKO\’s Board of Directors in January 2024 following the WWE-UFC merger. His limited WWE involvement throughout 2024 and 2025, despite his board position, has raised questions among industry observers about the dynamics within WWE\’s leadership structure. The Rock\’s last WWE appearance was at Elimination Chamber in March 2025, meaning he\’s been absent from WWE programming for over nine months despite his lucrative board role.

What do you think about Coachman\’s claims? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

  • Matt Hardy Confirms The Hardy Boyz Have Re-Signed With TNA

Matt Hardy has confirmed to Mike Gilbert that The Hardy Boyz have re-signed with TNA Wrestling, securing the legendary tag team\’s future with the promotion as it prepares for its high-profile debut on AMC Networks.

    TNA’s New Era on AMC

The news comes at a crucial time for TNA, with the promotion set to launch Thursday Night iMPACT on AMC on January 15, 2026. The Hardy Boyz\’s previous one-year contracts, signed in late 2024, were set to expire at the end of December 2025, making their re-signing a significant roster retention ahead of the network transition.

The Hardy Boyz currently reign as TNA World Tag Team Champions, marking their fourth championship run with the promotion. Matt and Jeff Hardy made history in October 2025 by becoming the first tag team to simultaneously hold the TNA World Tag Team Championships and WWE NXT Tag Team Championships. The legendary duo was recently ranked #1 in Pro Wrestling Illustrated\’s 2025 Tag Team 100.

Since returning to TNA in 2024, the Hardy Boyz have consistently expressed satisfaction with their creative direction and utilization by the promotion. The team initially worked under handshake agreements before signing formal one-year deals, and their decision to re-sign signals continued confidence in TNA\’s trajectory as the company enters its new era on a major cable network.

  • WWE Raw Tonight (December 22): Punk-Gunther Face-Off, Austin Theory and The Vision

Live from the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan

WWE Raw presents its final pre-taped episode before the holiday break with World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk confronting Gunther, Austin Theory making his intentions clear with The Vision, and major developments in the Women’s World Championship picture. This episode was recorded on December 19 to give the roster time off during the Christmas season.

With CM Punk set to defend against Bron Breakker on the January 5 Netflix episode, The Best in the World finds himself face-to-face with another former World Heavyweight Champion in Gunther. Meanwhile, Paul Heyman continues building The Vision’s ranks as Austin Theory appears poised to align with Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.

    Match Card

    • Asuka vs. Rhea Ripley
    • Je’Von Evans vs. Rayo Americano (Pete Dunne)
    • Bayley vs. Roxanne Perez
    • CM Punk and Rey Mysterio vs. Austin Theory and Bronson Reed

    Asuka vs. Rhea Ripley

The Empress of Tomorrow opens the show against The Eradicator in a battle two weeks before Ripley teams with IYO SKY to challenge The Kabuki Warriors for the Women’s Tag Team Championships on January 5. This singles encounter serves as a critical test for both competitors heading into the new year.

Asuka, a founding member of The Kabuki Warriors alongside Kairi Sane, brings decades of championship pedigree into this matchup. Her technical mastery and submission expertise make her dangerous against any opponent, especially one she’ll face indirectly for tag team gold in just two weeks.

Ripley has been dominant since her return from injury, re-establishing herself as one of Raw’s most dangerous competitors. Her partnership with SKY represents an intriguing alliance between two former rivals, and this match against Asuka provides a preview of the intensity awaiting in their tag title challenge. With tensions high in The Judgment Day and multiple title opportunities on the horizon, Ripley enters focused on proving she remains The Eradicator.

    Je’Von Evans vs. Rayo Americano

Fresh off his appearance at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Je’Von Evans faces Rayo Americano in what marks Pete Dunne’s first singles match on Raw under his new masked persona. This stylistic clash pits Evans’ high-flying innovation against the mat-based brutality that made Dunne a breakout star.

Evans has impressed during his recent Raw appearances, showcasing the athleticism and fearlessness that made him a standout in NXT. Facing a veteran like Dunne represents a significant step up in competition, testing whether Evans can handle Raw’s main roster intensity.

For Rayo Americano, this represents a major opportunity to establish himself on Raw’s biggest stage. Dunne’s technical prowess and aggressive style have made him one of the most respected workers in WWE, and the Rayo Americano character allows him to reinvent himself while maintaining that edge. Victory here would announce his arrival as a legitimate Raw player heading into Royal Rumble season.

    Bayley vs. Roxanne Perez

The Role Model faces The Prodigy as tensions within The Judgment Day continue escalating. Bayley has been searching for direction since her Saturday Night’s Main Event loss to Sol Ruca, while Perez represents The Judgment Day’s newest addition and its potential future.

Bayley’s veteran experience contrasts sharply with Perez’s youthful aggression. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion has been teaming with Lyra Valkyria with eyes on tag team gold, but this singles encounter reminds everyone why Bayley remains one of WWE’s most accomplished competitors. She’ll look to use her ring intelligence to neutralize Perez’s speed advantage.

Perez has aligned herself with Liv Morgan in The Judgment Day’s increasingly complicated power structure. With Raquel Rodriguez distancing herself from the faction and friction between the women escalating, this match carries implications beyond just a win or loss. Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio watch helplessly as their faction splinters, making Perez’s performance here critical to her standing within the group.

The match is expected to end controversially, with interference from other Judgment Day members further highlighting the dysfunction tearing the faction apart.

CM Punk and Rey Mysterio vs. Austin Theory and Bronson Reed (Main Event)

The main event features World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk teaming with Rey Mysterio to battle The Vision members Austin Theory and Bronson Reed. This tag team encounter brings together multiple storylines converging as WWE heads into 2026.

Punk has been absent from television since Survivor Series, where he was attacked by a masked assailant. His return as champion brings immediate questions about his January 5 title defense against Bron Breakker, especially with Paul Heyman orchestrating The Vision’s expansion. Teaming with Mysterio provides an opportunity to scout potential threats while building momentum heading into his first Netflix-era title defense.

Austin Theory stands at a crossroads tonight. After going behind Punk at Survivor Series, Theory’s intentions regarding The Vision alignment will be revealed. The 28-year-old former United States Champion debuted new ring gear at these tapings, signaling a fresh chapter in his career. Backstage segments with Paul Heyman throughout the night will establish whether Theory officially joins Breakker and Reed, fundamentally altering Raw’s power structure.

Rey Mysterio continues his war with The Vision, determined to fight through every member to reach his ultimate goal: challenging his son Dominik for the Intercontinental Championship. Mysterio slapped Logan Paul recently after Paul claimed he would retire the legend, escalating tensions that will explode in their match later this month.

The match reportedly ends with Theory pinning Mysterio, securing victory for The Vision and making a definitive statement. Post-match, Bron Breakker is expected to enter the ring, with The Vision standing tall over their fallen opponents heading into the holiday break.

    Segments to Watch

CM Punk and Gunther Face-Off: The World Heavyweight Champion and The Ring General have a tense confrontation that raises the stakes for Punk’s title reign. Gunther, fresh off ending John Cena’s career at Saturday Night’s Main Event, positions himself as the standard-bearer of WWE and a future title challenger. The segment is expected to be interrupted by CM Punk and Rey Mysterio, leading to the main event tag team match.

Paul Heyman and Austin Theory: The Wise Man has a backstage conversation with Theory, continuing his manipulation of Raw’s roster. Heyman also meets with Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, with discussions centered around whether Theory should be allowed to join The Vision. These segments build to the main event’s conclusion.

Judgment Day Backstage Drama: A backstage segment focuses on the group’s internal struggles. Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez appear united, while Raquel Rodriguez distances herself from the faction. Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio grow increasingly frustrated, unable to regain control of a group fracturing along gender lines.

Becky Lynch Returns: The Man makes her first appearance since Survivor Series: WarGames, confronting Women’s Intercontinental Champion Maxxine Dupri. Lynch has been vocal about alleged corruption by Raw General Manager Adam Pearce and referee Jessika Carr following her title loss. The confrontation escalates into a physical encounter, with Maxxine reportedly locking Lynch in an ankle lock, making The Man tap out again and establishing the champion’s legitimacy.

Gunther and AJ Styles: The Ring General crosses paths with The Phenomenal One backstage in an intriguing encounter. With both men positioned as top-tier competitors, this meeting plants seeds for potential future programs.

  • Jim Ross Feels Vince McMahon’s Animosity Towards Him Stemmed From Jealousy

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has opened up about the tense relationship he experienced with Vince McMahon during his time with WWE, claiming the former chairman’s hostility was rooted in professional jealousy.

Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Ross addressed longtime speculation about McMahon’s treatment of him throughout the Attitude Era and beyond.

“I never have understood Vince’s intense animosity. I think he was jealous,” JR revealed. “He was never the play-by-play guy that I was.”

Ross, who served as WWE’s Executive Vice President of Talent Relations from 1996-2004 while simultaneously working as the company’s lead announcer, believes McMahon refused to acknowledge his contributions to WWE’s most successful era.

“He didn’t want to give me any credit for helping build the Attitude Era to what it was,” Ross explained.

The legendary commentator pointed to his role in signing the talent that transformed WWE’s fortunes.

“I signed all those guys that made him millions of dollars and facilitated the company going public. Those were my guys. That was my roster and it happened to click,” he said, referencing WWE’s historic October 1999 IPO that valued the company at $172.5 million.

Ross’s signings during this period included Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton, Edge, Trish Stratus, and Mick Foley—talent that defined the Attitude Era and drove record revenues.

Despite the friction, Ross emphasized he’s moved forward. “I worked my ass off, but sometimes that’s just the way that it is,” he noted.

“I have the choice to carry that animosity and that angst with me or cut it loose and move on. And the latter is what I’ve done, and I will continue to do.”
