WWE and 2K Games have announced the King of Kings Edition of WWE 2K26, marking the third special edition for the upcoming wrestling video game.

The edition features Triple H as its centerpiece, celebrating \”The Game\’s\” legendary career that spans from his days as Hunter Hearst Helmsley to his 14-time World Championship reign and his current role as WWE\’s Chief Content Officer.

The King of Kings Edition joins two previously announced special editions:

    • The Attitude Era Edition, revealed during Friday Night SmackDown, featuring Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, and other legends from WWE\’s boom period
    • The Monday Night War Edition, announced during Saturday Night\’s Main Event, celebrating the WWE vs. WCW rivalry with nWo and WCW legends

    King of Kings Edition Details

While full details of the King of Kings Edition content are expected to be revealed closer to the game\’s launch, the edition is anticipated to include exclusive content related to Triple H\’s storied WWE career. This could include:

    • Exclusive Triple H attires spanning his career
    • D-Generation X content and related legends

    Pre-Orders Open January 30

Pre-orders for all WWE 2K26 editions open on Thursday, January 30. The game is expected to release in early March 2026, following the franchise\’s traditional WrestleMania season release window.

According to earlier reports from Insider Gaming, WWE 2K26\’s Showcase Mode will center around CM Punk, featuring career highlights, \”What If?\” scenarios, and fantasy dream matches. The Island mode is also returning with a new faction power struggle storyline.

  • Samantha Irvin Teases Wrestling Return, Historic Pairing With Ricochet

Former WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin has confirmed she plans to return to professional wrestling as a manager once her non-compete clause expires in October 2026.

Irvin, now performing music under the name \”Samantha The Bomb,\” responded to fans on social media over the weekend, revealing her post-announcing ambitions. When a fan praised her microphone work, Irvin made her intentions clear.

\”Thank you so much! I promise I will bring even more gusto to the mic when managing talent,\” she wrote on X.

Will Samantha Irvine manage husband Ricochet in AEW?

The former Raw announcer also addressed speculation about potentially managing her husband Ricochet, who currently works for AEW. When a fan suggested she should manage Ricochet upon his return to WWE, Irvin shut down that idea while teasing something bigger.

\”I would be a bad manager if I advised him to return. But us together will be historic, I do believe that,\” Irvin replied.

Irvin departed WWE in October 2024 after revealing the company wouldn\’t offer her opportunities beyond ring announcing. She later disclosed she\’s bound by a two-year non-compete clause that prevents her from working in wrestling until October 2026.

The 37-year-old previously clarified that she never intended to be a career ring announcer, stating at the time of her departure: \”I don\’t like announcing. Announcing was only supposed to be my way in. I wanted to manage, maybe even become general manager one day. But WWE saw no other future for me besides announcer.\”

With less than nine months remaining on her non-compete, Irvin\’s latest comments have fueled speculation that she could debut in AEW alongside Ricochet once she\’s free to return to the wrestling business.

  • Canadian Pro Wrestler Fired After ICE Shirt Sparks Backlash, Promotion Apologizes

Update: Real Canadian Wrestling has issued a formal apology and dismissed the wrestler involved after an individual appeared at an Edmonton event wearing an apparent ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) uniform.

The promotion stated that the portrayal was not approved by management and was only brought to their attention after the wrestler entered the ring. RCW apologized to anyone offended or affected by the incident and emphasized that they do not endorse or support ICE or its actions.

Original story: A wrestler at a Real Canadian Wrestling event has drawn sharp criticism after wearing an \”ICE\” shirt during a show, prompting condemnation from fellow wrestler Kato the Luchador amid ongoing tensions surrounding federal immigration enforcement operations in the United States.

    https://media.sescoops.com/uploads/2026/01/\"Pro

Kato posted a scathing response on Instagram Stories, calling out the unnamed wrestler\’s choice to use ICE imagery for heat. \”

A man was murdered today in broad daylight. He was the second person this month alone,\” Kato wrote. \”Using that for \’heat\’ on a wrestling show is cowardly and minimizes the injustice happening in the United States right now.\”

The controversy comes as federal immigration enforcement operations have resulted in multiple shootings in Minneapolis, including the January 24 fatal shooting of Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse, and the January 7 death of Renée Good, a 37-year-old mother of three. Both were killed by federal agents during Operation Metro Surge.

\”Every single person involved with this show should be ASHAMED,\” Kato continued in his post, which tagged Real Canadian Wrestling. \”If you stood by and let this happen, you are complicit. Disgusting. Embarrassing. Deplorable.\”

The incident stands in stark contrast to other wrestling figures who have taken opposing stances on immigration enforcement. AEW wrestlers Brody King and Adam Page have both publicly criticized ICE operations, with King wearing an \”Abolish ICE\” shirt during televised events and raising nearly $30,000 for families affected by ICE raids.

  • Lilian Garcia Replaces Alicia Taylor On WWE RAW Tonight Due To Flight Cancellations

WWE RAW ring announcer Alicia Taylor will miss tonight\’s show in Toronto after severe winter weather caused widespread flight cancellations across North America.

Taylor shared the news on her Instagram Stories on Sunday, writing: \”Currently at the airport with all canceled flights to Canada ?? So, tagging in sister Lil for the fill. Thanks @LilianGarcia #RAW.\”

WWE Hall of Famer Lilian Garcia will handle ring announcing duties for tonight\’s Royal Rumble go-home show at Scotiabank Arena. Garcia is already in the region after working Saturday Night\’s Main Event at the Bell Centre in Montreal on January 24.

Garcia is currently on a two-year WWE deal to work Saturday Night\’s Main Event specials and other select appearances. This marks her second time filling in for Taylor, having previously stepped in during a February 2025 RAW in Charlotte.

How is Weather Impacting WWE Shows This Week?

The Greater Toronto Area was hit with blizzard conditions over the weekend, with Environment Canada warning of snowfall rates up to 8 cm per hour. The city urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel as hundreds of flights were cancelled or delayed.

WWE has been proactive in managing travel logistics, with many talents and staff driving overnight from Montreal to Toronto in company-rented vans following SNME. The company reportedly has multiple contingency plans in place ahead of this weekend\’s Royal Rumble in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Tonight\’s RAW airs live on Netflix from Toronto (Preview).

  • Jose Zamora Fires Back at Logan Paul\’s Mic\’d Up Claims

Independent wrestler Jose Zamora has publicly challenged Logan Paul\’s claim to being the first wrestler to use a mic\’d up gimmick, presenting evidence that he pioneered the concept on the independent scene.

The controversy began when Paul took to Twitter/X claiming he was \”the first wrestler to ever be mic\’d up\” during WWE programming.

Zamora, who wrestles as \”The Spotlight,\” responded with receipts showing he has been using the gimmick for the past year and a half.

\”So Logan Paul did the mic\’d up wrestling gimmick on WWE TV, which is something that I\’ve been doing for the past year and a half on the independent scene,\” Zamora said. \”I do it in every single match. And I\’m even in the process of getting it trademarked.\”

The 23-year-old Boston-based wrestler provided screenshots showing Paul\’s videographer liking his mic\’d up videos and commenting on Paul\’s posts, suggesting awareness of Zamora\’s work.

Despite having grounds for frustration, Zamora took the high road in his response. \”I think the easy way out in all of this would be to stand here, look at the camera, and just complain and insult Logan,\” he explained. \”But the truth is, I don\’t want to insult Logan. That is not the type of person that I am.\”

Zamora closed his statement by reaffirming his position: \”I am the spotlight. I am the first mic\’d up wrestler in the world. But more importantly, I am Jose Zamora.\”

The independent wrestler is currently recovering from shoulder surgery that will keep him out of action for five months. Meanwhile, Paul recently signed a long-term full-time contract with WWE and performs on Monday Night RAW as a member of The Vision faction.

    — WWE (@WWE) January 25, 2026

The announcement came during the Peacock broadcast from Montreal\’s Bell Centre, just one night after the Attitude Era Edition was unveiled during Friday\’s SmackDown.

Pre-orders for WWE 2K26 open Thursday, January 30. While no official release date has been confirmed, the game is expected to launch in early March based on the franchise\’s traditional WrestleMania season release window. WWE 2K25 released on March 14, 2025.

According to an earlier report from Insider Gaming, WWE 2K26\’s Showcase Mode will be centered around CM Punk. The mode will reportedly feature three sections: career highlights narrated by Punk himself, \”What If?\” scenarios exploring what might have happened had he not left WWE in 2014, and fantasy dream matches.

    WWE 2K26 Special Editions

The Monday Night War Edition is one of three special editions announced for WWE 2K26:

    • King of Kings Edition – Features Triple H and content celebrating \’The Game\’s\’ legendary career

  • Jade Cargill Losing Support From WWE Fans

WWE Women\’s Champion Jade Cargill may be holding gold, but she\’s losing the crowd. After wrestling only 7 minutes and 25 seconds on television since winning the championship nearly three months ago, fans are turning on the powerhouse star—and recent SmackDown segments with Jordynne Grace have made the disconnect impossible to ignore.

The issue runs deeper than limited TV time. Cargill\’s cocky \”That B***h\” persona, and her promos telling Grace \”this is my show\” generate natural heel heat. She still has a lot of support, but the portion of the crowd who aren\’t buying it is growing – and responding with boos during what should be babyface moments.

    Jade Cargill unphased

During an appearance on the Beyond the Bell podcast, Cargill said:

“I go out there and I’m gonna do the best I can do, to the best of my ability. And if y’all don’t like it, which today, people don’t like anything. Let’s be real. Fans don’t like anything that’s put out. It’s your problem, not mine.” “If people at the front office are happy, and my coworkers happy, and whomever was in the ring with me is happy, that’s all that matters.”

This pattern isn\’t new. Throughout her wrestling career, dating back to her November 2020 AEW debut, Cargill has been carefully protected with short matches designed to hide developmental gaps. Her record-breaking 508-day AEW TBS Championship reign featured primarily squash victories rarely exceeding five minutes. Four years into her career, that protection strategy now looks like a limitation.

Wrestling history shows companies typically \”double down\” on struggling characters, tweaking presentation in hopes something clicks with audiences. WWE attempted this by turning Cargill heel in October 2024, leading to her championship victory at Saturday Night\’s Main Event. But the minimal TV time since winning the title—zero televised defenses as singles champion—suggests WWE remains uncertain how to maximize her strengths while minimizing weaknesses.

The Grace confrontation crystallizes the dilemma. When Grace posted \”Marketable look vs undeniable work. Let\’s see whose show it really is,\” she articulated what fans increasingly believe: look and presence don\’t replace in-ring ability and audience connection.

Cargill\’s social media response—\”shut your short *** up before I step on you\”—perfectly captured the arrogant heel persona fans want to see fully embraced on television.

The solution appears obvious: let Cargill be the dominant, trash-talking villain her character naturally embodies. Heel champions can work shorter matches, talk more trash, and generate genuine heat—all playing to her current strengths.

History shows audiences ultimately make these decisions regardless of company plans, and the boos during SmackDown segments suggest the choice has already been made.

  • Saturday Night\’s Main Event Faces -24°F Extreme Cold Warning

    Weather Advisory Details

Residents and visitors are being advised that frostbite can occur on exposed skin within minutes under these conditions. Health officials recommend minimizing time spent outdoors and ensuring all skin is covered when venturing outside.

    Advice for Fans Attending

The Bell Centre doors are expected to open several hours before the event begins, allowing fans to escape the extreme cold while waiting for the show to start.

    Tonight\’s Match Card

Despite the frigid temperatures outside, the action inside the Bell Centre promises to.. bring the heat. Tonight\’s card includes Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens for the Undisputed WWE Championship, a Fatal 4-Way featuring Bron Breakker, and a highly anticipated matchup between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura.

AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura Singles Match

Revenge, Redemption, and Royal Rumble Positioning

The Road to WrestleMania 42 officially heats up tonight as WWE delivers a stacked card just seven days before the Royal Rumble. Cody Rhodes enters Saturday seeking vengeance after Jacob Fatu\’s shocking return cost him the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Meanwhile, four of SmackDown\’s top stars will battle for the right to challenge Drew McIntyre in Saudi Arabia, the hottest division in women\’s wrestling puts gold on the line when RHIYO defends against The Judgment Day, and two former rivals with a storied history reunite when AJ Styles faces Shinsuke Nakamura.

    Match Previews

    Cody Rhodes vs. Jacob Fatu

Cody Rhodes promised the \”biggest receipt\” he\’s ever delivered, and now he gets his chance. Two weeks ago in Berlin, Rhodes appeared to have Drew McIntyre finished in the third stage of their Three Stages of Hell match when a hooded figure emerged at the cage door. Jacob Fatu, returning from a months-long absence after being attacked backstage, initially prevented McIntyre from escaping—but when Rhodes got involved, Fatu turned his fury on the champion. The distraction allowed McIntyre to slither out of the cage and capture his fourth Undisputed WWE Championship.

Rhodes, now without a championship and without an automatic rematch clause, needs to channel his frustration into victory before he can think about reclaiming his title. Fatu, meanwhile, is ready to establish himself as a main event force heading into WrestleMania season.

Randy Orton vs. Trick Williams vs. Damian Priest vs. Sami Zayn – #1 Contender\’s Fatal 4-Way

The winner of this match will challenge Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble on January 31 in Saudi Arabia. All four competitors earned their spots through qualifying matches on last week\’s SmackDown in London.

Randy Orton overcame an early ambush from The Miz, absorbing two Skull Crushing Finales before striking with an RKO for the victory. Orton has already reminded McIntyre that he\’s beaten him for the WWE Championship before and has every intention of doing it again. Trick Williams, the former NXT and TNA World Champion, made quick work of Matt Cardona and attacked Sami Zayn after the show to send a clear message to the locker room. Damian Priest defeated Solo Sikoa despite MFT interference when the Wyatt Sicks provided a crucial distraction. Sami Zayn closed out SmackDown with an instant classic against Ilja Dragunov, winning via Helluva Kick to punch his ticket to Montreal—his hometown.

Zayn has never defeated Drew McIntyre in 11 attempts, but the Montreal crowd will be firmly behind their hometown hero. Williams has the momentum of a rising star, while Orton and Priest both have unfinished business with McIntyre and world championship pedigrees.

Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY (c) vs. Liv Morgan & Roxanne Perez – WWE Women\’s Tag Team Championship

The newly crowned champions defend their titles for the first time against former Judgment Day allies and rivals. RHIYO captured the Women\’s Tag Team Championship on the first Raw of 2026, defeating The Kabuki Warriors in the opening match of WWE\’s Netflix era. Ripley and SKY were once bitter rivals competing for the Women\’s World Championship, making their partnership and championship victory all the more remarkable.

Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez earned this opportunity by winning a Triple Threat match on Raw in Düsseldorf, defeating The Kabuki Warriors and the team of Bayley and Lyra Valkyria. Morgan claimed the titles were never really lost since she held them with Raquel Rodriguez before her injury, and she\’s been molding her \”little Roxy\” into what she calls \”the next greatest of all time.\” The Judgment Day duo has championship experience individually but have never held gold as a team.

Adding intrigue: Dominik Mysterio remains sidelined with a shoulder injury but could return at any moment to swing the balance in The Judgment Day\’s favor.

    AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Two longtime rivals with a storied history will meet once again tonight in Montreal. AJ Styles was invited to SmackDown this week by General Manager Nick Aldis, where Shinsuke Nakamura confronted him backstage. The Japanese star referenced Styles putting his career on the line against Gunther at the Royal Rumble and offered to help AJ prove himself before that potential retirement match.

Styles and Nakamura have produced some of the most memorable matches in wrestling history, including their highly praised encounter at Wrestle Kingdom 10 in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Their rivalry continued in WWE, where they battled for the WWE Championship multiple times in 2018. Now, with Styles potentially facing the end of his career, this match takes on added significance as The Phenomenal One looks to build momentum heading into what could be his final stand at the Royal Rumble.

  • WWE Rumors: Saraya Rumble Status, Saudi Rumor Killer

Happy Saturday! We’ve got Saturday Night’s Main Event, then it’s a short runway to next weekend’s Royal Rumble premium live event from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Here’s our WWE rumor roundup for January 24, 2026, running down the latest unconfirmed speculation that fans are buzzing about:

WWE Rumors: Saraya Available for Royal Rumble Return?

Speculation is building regarding a potential WWE return for Saraya. The multi-time Women’s world Champion has been actively training, shaking off ring rust, fueling the WWE rumors of an imminent comeback.

Adding fuel to the fire, Saraya\’s availability for the Royal Rumble has been confirmed. She was originally scheduled to appear at Nashville Celebrity Comic Con, which coincided with the Rumble. However, the convention has been rescheduled to February 7th and 8th, freeing up Saraya and other wrestling names like Matt and Jeff Hardy, Lita, Trish Stratus, and Kane. This WWE rumors development significantly increases the chances of seeing Saraya in the Women\’s Royal Rumble match.

Rumor Killer: 3 Saudi Arabia PLEs Planned for 2026

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that WWE is planning to run three premium live events this year, but that is not the case – and the correction comes from a very high placed source: Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority (GEA),

WWE Rumor: Major Overseas Event to Combat AEW All In?

As AEW gears up for another All In event in London, WWE rumors suggest that WWE is planning a major overseas event to directly compete with AEW\’s ticket sales.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is considering running a significant show around the same time to counter AEW\’s presence in the UK market.

Potential Booking for Styles vs. Gunther

With AJ Styles\’ career on the line against Gunther at the Royal Rumble, the outcome is uncertain. WWE rumors suggest that a potential scenario could see Styles defeating Gunther, only for Gunther to win the Royal Rumble later in the night.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a loss for Gunther “without that redemption at the end of the show makes no sense.” Winning the Royal Rumble would restore his aura heading into WrestleMania season. The logic checks out, but this one appears to be just connecting dots right now.

  • Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga Capture WWE Tag Team Titles

Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga of the MFTs defeated Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy of the Wyatt Sicks to win the WWE Tag Team Titles on the January 23, 2026 episode of WWE SmackDown in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

The match saw Tama Tonga and Joe Gacy start, with Sikoa quickly tagging in. Chaos erupted in the closing moments as brawls spilled outside the ring. Tama Tonga clashed with Erick Rowan, who had accompanied the champions to ringside.

Uncle Howdy then interfered, applying the Mandible Claw to Tama Tonga. Sikoa capitalized by hitting Uncle Howdy with a Samoan Spike, then used the Wyatt Sicks\’ lantern to strike Dexter Lumis.

Tama Tonga sealed the victory with a Cut Throat on Lumis for the pinfall, ending the Wyatt Sicks\’ nearly 200-day title reign that began in July against the Street Profits.

  • WWE Rumors: AJ Lee WrestleMania Match, Steve Austin Returning

Happy Friday. Another day, another batch of WWE rumors to sift through ahead of Saturday Night\’s Main Event weekend. Here\’s your complete WWE rumors roundup for January 23, 2026.

WWE Rumor: AJ Lee vs Becky Lynch \”Locked In\” for WrestleMania 42

According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, sources suggest that AJ Lee vs Becky Lynch is considered one of the more \”locked in\” matches for WrestleMania 42. The long-rumored dream match between the two former Divas Champions appears to be moving forward after months of speculation.

Despite multiple creative hurdles in bringing Lee back to active competition, WWE officials are committed to making this match happen at the biggest show of the year.

If confirmed, this would mark Lee\’s first singles match at WrestleMania in her career—a fitting stage for one of the most anticipated dream matches in recent memory.

WWE Rumor: Steve Austin Appearance Being Discussed Internally

One of WWE\’s greatest legends could be making a return sooner than expected. Also from WrestleVotes, there has been internal discussion about \”Stone Cold\” Steve Austin making an appearance in the near future. Austin\’s name has reportedly come up in discussions across multiple departments.

With Royal Rumble taking place in Saudi Arabia next week, speculation is running wild about whether Austin could make a surprise appearance—though his history with the Saudi shows makes this unlikely for that particular event.

WWE Rumor: Powerhouse Hobbs New Ring Name

Now that Powerhouse Hobbs\’ WWE signing has been confirmed, attention turns to what he\’ll be called on the main roster. It\’s believed that WWE\’s reent trademark for the name \”Royce Keys\” will be the super heavyweight\’s new moniker.

The company reportedly has big plans for the former TNT Champion and has been preparing for his arrival for some time.

  • Wrestling News: Hobbs Signs With WWE, Jim Ross Health Update

It\’s Friday, January 23, 2026 and here\’s your wrestling news update covering the biggest stories from WWE, AEW, TNA, and the world of professional wrestling.

Powerhouse Hobbs Officially Signs With WWE

The speculation is over—Powerhouse Hobbs is officially WWE-bound. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select confirmed Thursday that the former TNT Champion has signed a contract with WWE following the expiration of his AEW deal last week.

As previously reported, WWE had expressed interest in Hobbs for some time, and the company has reportedly already planned a new name and image for the powerhouse. The 32-year-old spent four years with AEW, where he established himself as one of the promotion\’s most physically imposing talents.

Hobbs\’ signing comes amid WWE\’s continued efforts to bolster its roster with established talent. His combination of size, athleticism, and presence makes him a natural fit for WWE\’s style, and fans should expect him to make an impact once he debuts.

Jim Ross Reveals Scary Fall Left Him on Floor for Hours

WWE Hall of Famer and current AEW announcer Jim Ross has provided an update on his health following a frightening incident at his home that prevented him from attending last week\’s Dynamite taping in Orlando.

Speaking on the latest episode of \”Grilling JR,\” the 74-year-old legendary commentator revealed the severity of the fall that kept him down. Ross disclosed that he was on the floor for approximately five hours before he could get help, but says he \”got lucky\” and avoided serious injury.

JR\’s return to AEW programming has been postponed as he continues to recover. The beloved announcer has faced numerous health challenges in recent years but has remained a fixture in professional wrestling broadcasting.

Trey Miguel Returns to TNA After AEW Release

Trey Miguel is officially back in TNA Wrestling, making a surprise return on Thursday\’s live episode of iMPACT just days after being released by AEW. Miguel entered the Feast or Fired match as an unannounced participant, securing one of the briefcases in the signature TNA stipulation bout.

Miguel\’s return comes after a whirlwind week. The Rascalz member had signed with AEW but parted ways with the company before ever appearing on television. Fightful Select reported that TNA had conversations with Miguel about a potential return just hours before Thursday\’s show.

\”If this is the fired briefcase, I\’ll be so pissed,\” Miguel joked after the match, referencing the stipulation where three briefcases contain title opportunities while one results in termination. The briefcase contents will be revealed on next week\’s iMPACT.

The System Undergoes Major Faction Overhaul in TNA

TNA\’s long-running faction The System underwent a shocking transformation during Thursday\’s iMPACT, with Cedric Alexander and Bear Bronson officially joining the group—only for the faction to immediately turn on two of its founding members.

After JDC announced the new additions, The System attacked both JDC and Moose, kicking them out of the group in a stunning heel turn. The betrayal came just weeks after JDC\’s retirement match against Eddie Edwards at TNA Genesis.

The revamped System now positions itself as a major heel faction heading into the AMC era of TNA programming.

Bishop Dyer Reveals Tony Khan\’s Reaction to AEW Debut

Former WWE star Baron Corbin, now competing as Bishop Dyer, has revealed how his recent AEW dark match appearance came together and Tony Khan\’s reaction to seeing him perform.

Speaking on Busted Open\’s \”Off the Ropes\” podcast, Dyer opened up about the opportunity, explaining how the booking materialized and sharing Khan\’s positive feedback after the match. Dyer competed in an eight-man tag before Wednesday\’s Dynamite in Orlando, teaming with Martin Stone and Better Together against Billy Gunn and his team.

While it remains unclear if this was a one-time appearance or a potential ongoing relationship, Dyer has been working for MLW since his WWE release in November 2024.

  • Joe Tessitore Named Play-by-Play Announcer for Zuffa Boxing

WWE commentator Joe Tessitore has been announced as the play-by-play announcer for Zuffa Boxing\’s first numbered event.

The promotion, under TKO Group Holdings, will host Zuffa Boxing 01 on January 23, 2026, at the UFC Apex. The event streams live on Paramount+.

Zuffa Boxing Twitter announced the broadcast team, confirming Tessitore\’s role alongside fight analysts Max Kellerman, Andre Ward, Antonio Tarver, and Mike Coppinger. Mark Kriegel and Skipper Kelp join as additional analysts, with Joe Martinez as ring announcer, Molly Querim as host, and Heidi Androl providing reporting.

    Joe Tessitre and TKO

Tessitore joined WWE in July 2024 after a long tenure at ESPN, where he called boxing, college football, and other events. His addition highlights cross-promotional ties between WWE, TKO, and Zuffa Boxing.

Zuffa Boxing follows its hosting of the Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford card in September 2025. This debut event marks a new venture in the boxing landscape under TKO\’s umbrella.

  • Bully Ray: TNA Must Sign Powerhouse Hobbs Despite WWE Deal

Bully Ray is urging TNA Impact to make a play for Powerhouse Hobbs, even as WWE appears positioned to sign the former AEW star, according to comments made on Busted Open Radio.

With Hobbs\’ AEW contract having expired earlier this month, the 35-year-old heavyweight has become one of the most sought-after free agents in professional wrestling.

WWE sources reportedly believe Hobbs has already agreed to terms with the company, with expectations for his presence during Royal Rumble weekend in Saudi Arabia at the end of January.

However, Ray believes TNA shouldn\’t sit idle in pursuit of available talent, pointing to the company\’s improved financial standing.

\”If I\’m TNA, I\’m making a play for Powerhouse Hobbs. Forget about WWE. TNA should be making a play for Powerhouse Hobbs also. TNA should be making a play for anybody that\’s out there. They\’re in the game now. They got some money from AMC. They need to step up to the plate too.\”

The WWE and TNA Hall of Famer expressed his support for Hobbs regardless of where he lands, with one notable exception—he doesn\’t want to see him remain in AEW.

\”I would love to see Hobbs in TNA. I would love to see Hobbs in WWE. The only place I don\’t want to see Powerhouse Hobbs is in AEW.\”

TNA has remained in the spotlight throughout January 2026 with a new media rights deal, fresh talent acquisitions, and significant re-signings. With some talents moving elsewhere this month, the promotion now has roster spots to fill, making Hobbs an even more desirable option from Ray\’s perspective.

Bully Ray\’s \’Clubber Lang\’ Blueprint for Hobbs in WWE

If given creative authority to book Hobbs in WWE, Ray revealed he would model the debut after Mr. T\’s intimidating character James \”Clubber\” Lang from Rocky III—building anticipation through a slow-burn presence.

\”How you always saw T in the audience scouting Rocky. You saw little clips of T. He would watch the fight and then he would leave. I would see Hobbs in the audience for months as a big, menacing, intimidating presence that was always around. Who is this guy? What is he doing here? You can\’t miss him. He\’s always on camera.\”

Ray compared the approach to recognizable front-row fans who become identifiable through repeated appearances, but with Hobbs\’ imposing physical presence making the impact far more dramatic.

\”There is a six-foot-four, 300-pound jacked to the gills Black man sitting in the hard camera shot every freaking show. Then we find out when he jumps the guardrail, he destroys everybody, and he gets arrested and taken out. I would use Hobbs as an absolute killer monster. This guy looks the part. He\’s credible.\”

NXT Could Use a New Big Man

With Oba Femi\’s imminent move to WWE\’s main roster following his dominant NXT Championship reign, Ray pointed out that the developmental brand now needs another imposing presence. Hobbs\’ extensive in-ring experience could make him a valuable asset for NXT while filling that void.

Should Hobbs make a surprise move to TNA instead, it would mark his first appearance with the company. However, he already has working history with current TNA World Champion Mike Santana and former champion Frankie Kazarian from their time together in AEW.

Hobbs spent nearly six years with AEW, holding the TNT and World Trios Championships before his recent departure. His next destination remains officially unconfirmed, though industry sources increasingly view his WWE signing as inevitable.

  • Chris Jericho: \”Just Make It Happen\” Drives 35-Year Career

Chris Jericho has spent over 35 years building one of the most diverse careers in entertainment history, and in a new interview with Soundsphere Magazine, the wrestling legend revealed the simple philosophy that has guided him through it all.

\”Instead of looking at ways why it won\’t work, look at ways that you can make it work. That\’s always been my motto. Just make it happen. If you want to do it, you can do it. And don\’t take no for an answer,\” Jericho explained.

The 55-year-old, who has found success as a nine-time world champion in wrestling, the frontman of rock band Fozzy, and an actor with roles in projects like the horror film \”Dark Match\” and CBS\’s \”Tracker,\” emphasized that constant evolution has been key to his staying power.

\”I think reinvention is important at any stage of your career because you want to keep people excited and motivated by what you\’re doing,\” he said. Jericho pointed to The Rolling Stones as inspiration, noting their 2023 album \”Hackney Diamonds\” proved legendary artists can still create compelling new work.

\”If you think about the Stones, their last record that came out a couple years ago was brilliant. It was incredible. And it\’s like, wow, what would be the motivation for the Stones to release a great new record? Well, because you\’re an artist and this is what we do.\”

Jericho also shared his perspective on the concept of failure itself, revealing a mindset that has allowed him to take risks others might shy away from.

\”I think that\’s the best way to do it is just be fearless when you\’re trying things. Because there\’s no such thing as failure. The only failure is when you don\’t try something,\” he stated.

This fearlessness, Jericho explained, comes from having already achieved his childhood dreams of becoming both a professional wrestler and a rock musician. \”When I was able to make both those things happen, now I\’m like fearless. I\’ll try anything.\”

The comments come as speculation continues about Jericho\’s wrestling future following his departure from AEW. Whether he returns to WWE or explores new opportunities, his philosophy suggests he\’s far from finished reinventing himself.

  • WWE Announces Multi-Year VGW Partnership Starting 2026

Interactive entertainment company VGW announced a multi-year partnership with WWE on January 17, 2026, set to commence later this year.

The deal will see VGW\’s portfolio of online social games brands—including Chumba Casino, LuckyLand Slots, and Global Poker—collaborate with WWE across multiple platforms to deliver premium entertainment experiences for millions of players and fans throughout the United States.

VGW will gain access to WWE\’s global network and Superstar talent to create engaging content and campaigns, including production time with WWE Superstars, integration across WWE\’s digital and social channels, and broadcast exposure across major networks.

VGW\’s brands will also feature prominently across WWE programming, including SmackDown on USA Network and Premium Live Events such as WrestleMania and SummerSlam.

\”WWE is an entertainment powerhouse with a passionate fan community,\” said VGW Chief Marketing Officer Ben Whitford. \”This collaboration connects our audiences through dynamic content and experiences that combine VGW\’s love of games with WWE\’s iconic brand.\”

WWE Vice President of Global Partnerships Jesse Tomares added, \”By combining VGW\’s expertise in interactive entertainment with WWE\’s unmatched reach and storytelling engine, we\’re creating new ways for our audiences to engage across multiple touchpoints.\”

The partnership will officially launch in the coming weeks, with several major campaigns already in development.

  • Chris Jericho Explains His \”Happy But Never Satisfied\” Mentality

After 35 years in professional wrestling, a successful rock music career with Fozzy, and an expanding filmography, one might expect Chris Jericho to rest on his laurels. Instead, the 55-year-old revealed in a Soundsphere Magazine interview that contentment has never been his goal.

\”I think I\’m happy. I\’m also always pushing myself. So I\’m never—I\’m happy, but I\’m never satisfied, I think, is the best way of putting it because I always want to do more,\” Jericho explained when asked about his current state of mind.

This philosophy has led Jericho to accomplish feats few entertainers ever achieve. He became a nine-time world wrestling champion, fronted a band that scored a gold-certified album, appeared in the Terrifier horror franchise, and recently landed roles in network television.

Chris Jericho fancies himself a Renaissance man

When asked if he considers himself an entrepreneur, Jericho offered a different self-assessment altogether.

\”I don\’t know if I ever see myself as an entrepreneur, but I see myself as kind of a renaissance man a little bit. I think Bruce Dickinson is a polymath, which means you do many, many things. Kind of a polymath, I guess you\’d say,\” he reflected.

Jericho\’s relentless drive extends to his performance philosophy as well. Whether in a wrestling ring or on a concert stage, connecting with the audience remains paramount.

\”You do learn how to control an audience. It\’s very important because when you show up in the ring or on stage, you want people to react. You want them to have a great time. If you can connect with the crowd, you\’ll always have a gig,\” he explained.

    Chris Jericho\’s new horror movie

Despite his celebrity status, Jericho made clear that success in one field doesn\’t automatically translate to another. His upcoming horror film \”Dark Match\” and his CBS \”Tracker\” appearance both required him to audition and earn the roles through traditional channels.

    Chris Jericho\’s advice for performers

Perhaps most telling is Jericho\’s advice for avoiding complacency as a performer. \”You don\’t want dead air. That\’s the worst thing you could have is people not reacting at all. So yeah, you really got to be a party host and make sure you connect with the crowd,\” he stated.

As speculation continues about his wrestling future, Jericho\’s polymath approach suggests whatever comes next will be just another chapter in an ever-expanding career. For him, satisfaction only fuels the hunger for the next challenge.

AEW Cancels Collision Taping in Texas, Will Tape Tonight in Orlando

Fans who purchased tickets for the Arlington event will receive refunds. The decision was made to ensure the safety of talent, crew, and fans as severe weather conditions are expected to impact the Dallas-Fort Worth area through the weekend. AEW has not yet announced rescheduling plans for a future Arlington date.

Bishop Dyer Makes AEW Debut in Pre-Show Match

Former WWE star Baron Corbin, now going by Bishop Dyer, worked his first match in an AEW ring Wednesday night. Dyer was released by WWE in November 2024 and has since been working for MLW. His appearance in AEW adds to the growing list of former WWE talent appearing with Tony Khan\’s promotion. It remains unclear whether this was a one-time booking or if Dyer will become a regular presence in AEW.

  • Why Rusev Has Been Missing From WWE Programming

Rusev has been noticeably absent from WWE television in recent weeks, prompting questions about his status following a promising return to the company in 2025. According to PWInsider, the Bulgarian Brute\’s absence is a deliberate creative decision by WWE, not the result of injury or disciplinary action.

The former United States Champion made his return to WWE on the April 21, 2025 episode of Raw, the night after WrestleMania 41, attacking Alpha Academy and immediately reestablishing himself as a dominant heel. His comeback marked the end of a five-year absence from WWE following his 2020 release, during which he competed in AEW under the ring name Miro and captured the TNT Championship.

    Rusev\’s 2025 WWE Run

Upon his return, Rusev was positioned strongly on Monday Night Raw. He engaged in a notable feud with Sheamus that culminated in an \”Old Fashioned Donnybrook Brawl\” at Clash in Paris in August 2025, which Rusev won by submission. Following that victory, Rusev set his sights on championship gold and entered into a program with Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio and The Judgment Day faction.

The Last Time Is Now Tournament

Rusev was among the 16 competitors selected for \”The Last Time Is Now\” tournament, which was held to determine John Cena\’s opponent for his retirement match at Saturday Night\’s Main Event XLII on December 13, 2025. The tournament began on the November 10 episode of Raw and featured talent from Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and surprise returning stars.

In the first round, Rusev defeated Damian Priest to advance to the quarterfinals. However, his tournament run came to an end on the November 28 episode of SmackDown (which was taped on November 21), when he lost to Jey Uso. The match saw Rusev come close to victory, locking in the Accolade and hitting a Machka Kick for near falls, but Uso ultimately prevailed with a spear followed by an Uso Splash.

    Last Televised Appearance

Rusev\’s last televised match came on the December 6 edition of WWE Main Event (taped December 1), where he defeated Alpha Academy\’s Otis by submission with the Accolade. The match saw Rusev work over his opponent methodically before securing the victory in the main event of the show.

    Reason for Absence

According to PWInsider, WWE has intentionally removed Rusev from weekly programming while he is not actively involved in a storyline. The belief internally is that if a talent is not central to an active story, it is sometimes better to remove them from television entirely rather than overexpose them without meaningful direction. The goal is to preserve Rusev\’s presence and make his eventual return more impactful.

Rusev has not been singled out with this approach. The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins), who held the WWE Tag Team Championships from March until July 2025, have similarly been held off television for the same reasons. Ford and Dawkins last competed on the November 1 episode of Main Event. However, Rusev\’s situation has drawn more attention given the momentum he appeared to have regained late in 2025 following his strong in-ring performances.

    KECH Pro Wrestling Academy

During his time away from television, Rusev announced the launch of his new wrestling school, KECH Pro Wrestling Academy. The school is based in Nashville, Tennessee, and is scheduled to open on March 1, 2026. \”Kech\” is the Bulgarian term for professional wrestling, representing Rusev\’s heritage.

The academy will offer training programs for both adults and children, including a specialized \”SUPER KECH\” program for younger aspiring wrestlers. Rusev has also announced advanced training sessions for experienced wrestlers looking to refine their craft. Operating under the tagline \”Train like a pro – Trained by a pro,\” the school positions Rusev as a hands-on instructor drawing from his years of experience in WWE and AEW.

    Royal Rumble Speculation

Rusev, Ford, and Dawkins have all appeared on promotional materials for the 2026 Royal Rumble, which will take place on January 31 at the King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. While there is no official confirmation that Rusev will compete in the 30-man Royal Rumble match, his inclusion in promotional artwork has fueled speculation about his potential return at the event.

The good news for fans is that Rusev is not injured and theoretically could return at any time once WWE creative has plans for him.

  • Chris Jericho on Ageism: \”It\’s Not a Death Sentence to Be in Your 50s\”

At 55 years old, Chris Jericho continues to defy expectations in both wrestling and music. In a candid interview with Soundsphere Magazine, the legendary performer addressed the topic of ageism head-on while sharing advice for anyone who feels their best years are behind them.

\”It\’s never too late. It\’s never too late and, you know, there is ageism and that sort of a thing and you just can\’t worry about it,\” Jericho declared.

\”Your age is your age, this is how old you are. It\’s not a death sentence to be in your 50s, right? Or your 60s or your 70s. There\’s still time to do things and you still can.\”

The interviewer referenced fan comments calling Jericho an inspiration who makes people feel they can accomplish anything at any age. Rather than dismiss the sentiment, Jericho leaned into it with practical advice.

\”I think the biggest detriment to success that we have is ourselves, you know, and so why not? Someone\’s got to do it, so why not you do it? And I think no matter how old you are, there\’s still always time to do things that you want to do,\” he explained.

Despite his legendary status as a nine-time world champion and AEW\’s inaugural champion, Jericho revealed he still hustles for acting roles just like anyone else. He recently landed a part on the CBS series \”Tracker,\” but the road to getting cast was anything but easy.

\”To get the part, I had to read for it. Then the casting director has to approve it. Then the director had to approve it. Then the producers have to approve it. Then the network had to approve it. So there\’s four levels of hierarchy to get this role. It is not easy to get parts,\” Jericho admitted.

When asked if his wrestling fame allows him to pick and choose acting opportunities, Jericho was refreshingly honest.

\”I\’m not at the position where I can pick and choose what I want to do. So yeah, there is the grift and the hustling but I don\’t mind. I\’ve done it my whole life. It\’s what I did in wrestling. It\’s what I did in music.\”

The comments offer a rare glimpse into the work ethic that has kept Jericho relevant across multiple decades, even as speculation swirls about his next move following his AEW departure.
