  • Santino Marella To Triple H & Stephanie: My Daughter Is Ready For WWE!

Former WWE Superstar Santino Marella believes his daughter is ready for the bright lights of WWE.

The master of the Cobra now runs the Battle Arts Academy in Ontario, Canada. One of his star pupils is his daughter, Bianca Carelli.

Santino sent a tweet to WWE executives Triple H and Stephanie McMahon urging them to take a look at Bianca. He wrote that she\’s been coached from day one to be a total superstar. She\’s finishing her biology degree this summer and is \”ready for her time to shine.\”

Bianca thanked her father for the kind words, noting that she \”learned from the best\” and \”loves him to infinity.\”

WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix also chimed in, stating that Bianca was cutting promos at 10 years old that blew everyone away. She wrote, \”Ready to take on the world!!\” and tagged the official @WWENXT account on the response.

  • Braun Strowman On Backstage Chaos In WWE, Raw Viewership

Braun Strowman recently spoke with Graham Matthews for Bleacher Report.

The oversized Superstar spoke in-depth about WWE effort to produce entertaining content during the pandemic era. Strowman admits that WWE has dealt with a lot of challenges over the past year, but was quick to praise his fellow wrestlers.

\”The boys and girls in the back, we all work really, really hard,\” he said. \”It\’s been a little chaotic because everything\’s been all over and people get sick and things change last minute. And part of me enjoys that, I\’m not going to lie.\”

Strowman made history last week on Raw by competing in three separate matches on the same show. He says things were chaotic backstage due to people being hurt, sick and \”stuff changing.\” He admits being freaked out by everything dumped on his plate, but ended the night feeling satisfied.

\”This past Monday was a prime example,\” he continued. \”Everything was crazy because people got hurt, people were sick and stuff changes. All of a sudden, you\’re in three matches in an hour and 10 minutes\’ worth of a three-hour show. You\’re freaking out, but when you get out there and get it done and hit a home run, it\’s such a satisfying feeling.\”

    Braun Strowman On Raw Viewership

WWE has done commendable job during the pandemic, but most would acknowledge the product has been hit-or-miss in recent months. It\’s difficult putting on a 3-hour show every Monday night, but he reiterated that the talent is doing their best.

\”It\’s a tough time right now,\” said Strowman. \”With how technologically advanced, everybody is and the media and stuff like that. It\’s a challenge for everything that\’s on television to try to draw live viewership. I\’ll be honest, I haven\’t even had cable in my house in the last decade. I keep up with our shows via our apps and social media.\”

Braun Strowman finished by saying he believes WWE consistently goes above and beyond to keep their viewers entertained.

The Monster Among Men will challenge for the WWE Championship at the company\’s next pay-per-view event, WrestleMania Backlash. He faces WWE Champion Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre in a triple threat match.

Head over to Bleacher Report to check out the complete interview.

  • Shawn Michaels & Kevin Nash Discuss \’WWE Untold\” Documentary

Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash are the subjects of \”WWE Untold: Two Dudes With Attitudes.\” The documentary is now streaming on Peacock.

Kevin Nash made his WWE debut in June of 1993 as Michaels\’ bodyguard, Diesel. It was the start of a friendship that has spanned nearly three decades. They\’ve done it all together. They\’ve been bitter rivals and they\’ve been tag team champions. From the main event of WrestleMania to the WWE Hall of Fame, Michaels and Nash\’s careers are forever linked.

Michaels spoke with TMZ Sports this week to promote the project. Here\’s what he said about Nash\’s role in his transition from mid-card act to Hall of Fame headliner. \”Kevin was a really big part of my life and really, obviously of my career, in taking my singles career, and I would arguably say to that main event level,\” he began.

\”I felt like I was doing pretty darn well transitioning from Sherri to myself, but it was sort of in that Intercontinental Championship area. I think as Kevin joined me in that time, we were able to take one another to another level within the WWE. When you’re in it doing it, it all happens very fast and you don’t really have a time to look back and think about that, so every time they come with these documentaries it’s always fun to be able to take some time and focus and talk about the appreciation you have for that time.\”

Michaels and Nash brought out the best in each other on camera. However, Michaels admits they were both troublemakers behind the scenes. You can watch some of HBK\’s chat with TMZ Sports in the player embedded below:

Kevin Nash says he got emotional while watching the documentary and called his time with Shawn Michaels an amazing part of his life. He thanked WWE and

  • Tamina Names The \’Roman Reigns\’ Of WWE\’s Women\’s Division

Universal Champion Roman Reigns is the top dog in WWE. After years of fans rejecting him as the next face of the company, his current Tribal Chief persona has finally resonated.

WWE veteran Tamina recently spoke with ViBe & Wrestling and was asked who she feels is the \’Roman Reigns\’ of the Women\’s Division.

She first said that if we\’re talking only women of Polynesian culture, it\’s gotta be her, not Nia Jax. \”It’s not Nia for sure, definitely not Nia,” she joked.

Tamina then named Charlotte Flair as the Roman Reigns of the WWE women\’s locker room. \”I would say probably Charlotte at this point. She came back and she definitely got something on her head. She is coming back for something and definitely wants to prove who she is. She came out and put everybody on the spot and she addressed all the locker room, so I would have to say maybe Charlotte right now.”

Charlotte Flair is a logical pick. Both are second generation competitors who have racked up more world title accolades than you can count.

WWE has a deep women\’s division that includes other prominent stars such as of Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Bayley and Alexa Bliss.

Check out ViBe & Wrestling\’s interview with Tamina:

  • Tessa Blanchard & Daga In Talks To Sign With AEW

Tessa Blanchard and husband Daga are in talks to sign with All Elite Wrestling (AEW). The negotiations have been ongoing for over a month. One source close to the situation tells us that it\’s \”all but a formality\” until they are signed.

Blanchard is a former Impact World Champion. She is widely considered one of the most talented female competitors on the open market.

She\’s weathered her share of controversies, including claims that she is difficult to work with and allegations of racism, which she adamantly denied. AEW officials have discussed the idea of acknowledging Tessa Blanchard\’s prior \’issues\’ on television and presenting her with a redemption storyline of sorts.

Blanchard\’s father, the legendary Tully Blanchard, is currently part of AEW as a member of MJF\’s faction, The Pinnacle.

  • W Morrissey Debuts At Impact On AXS TV (Video)

W Morrissey made his Impact on AXS TV debut this week. The man formerly known as WWE Superstar Big Cass is the newest member of the Impact roster.

Morrissey came out and cut an impassioned promo on the show. Morrissey said, \”You may recognize this face, but you do not know who I am.\” Wrestling fans don\’t know who any of the wrestlers are. They\’re not heroes, they do not love you and they do not care about you. These are very bad people.

\”This entire industry is filled with bad people and the only difference between me and all of them is I\’m not afraid to admit it.\”

He then proceeded to demolish Sam Beale.

Morrissey looks to be in the best shape of his career. He is a big signing and will be a serious threat to anyone who stands in his way.

  • AEW Dynamite Falls To 889,000 Viewers, 0.33 Demo (4/28)

AEW Dynamite viewership took a major hit this week after a strong start running unopposed on Wednesday nights.

The April 28th edition of AEW Dynamite on TNT averaged 889,000 viewers. The show did a 0.33 rating in the Adults 18-49 demographic to finish #10 on cable. The data comes courtesy of ShowbuzzDaily.

Dynamite viewership was down significantly after drawing viewership above 1.1 million the past two weeks. The show went up against US President Joe Biden\’s first State of the Union address to Congress and the subsequent coverage.

Digging into the demographics, AEW\’s numbers were down across the board. The demographic that was hit the hardest was Adults 50+, which was down 23%.

AEW has Blood and Guts scheduled for next week, which should spike a big number and bring things comfortably back above the 1 million mark.

Wednesday\’s show featured FTW Champion Brian Cage getting a surprise win over Hangman Page, Penta El Zero M getting a win over Orange Cassidy, an appearance from AEW/Impact World Champion Kenny Omega, a face-to-face showdown between the Inner Circle and the Pinnacle, Darby Allin retaining the TNT Championship over Dark Order member 10 and much more.

Check out our AEW Dynamite Results & Takeaways (4/28).

  • Tony Khan Comments On AEW Dynamite\’s Future On Wednesday Nights

AEW President Tony Khan has commented on potential scheduling conflict presented by TurnerSports signing a multi-year broadcasting deal with the National Hockey League (NHL).

The 7-year deal will see WarnerMedia-owned cable networks airing 72 regular-season games per year, as well as several games from the Stanley Cup finals.

With Dynamite airing on Wednesday nights on TNT, there\’s been some speculation about whether or not AEW could face frequent preemptions or get moved to a different night entirely.

Tony Khan appeared on Busted Open Radio on Wednesday and addressed this very topic.

\”I know Wednesday night is our slot and our home,\” he began. \”We\’re in a great situation. I\’m thrilled with our partnership with TNT. It\’s the lifeblood of our company. It\’s the primary revenue source and it\’s the way most fans get exposed to AEW.\”

\”It Would Have To Be A Really Good Deal For AEW\”

He said that Wednesday night is an important night for a lot of wrestling fans and he said he does not want people to worry about these kind of major changes. They have a contract with WarnerMedia that runs for another two and a half years plus.

\”If there was ever an opportunity to move, or if there was a deal to be had, I would consider it. If we did something, it would have to be a really good deal for AEW.\”

Based on these comments, it seems that AEW Dynamite is staying on Wednesday nights for the foreseeable future, but \”money talks\” and Tony Khan would be flexible if it was worth their while.

Check out Tony Khan\’s comments on Busted Open in the tweet embedded below:

  • AEW Blood and Guts: Rules Revealed, Format For May 5th Dynamite

All Elite Wrestling will present the first Blood and Guts match in company history on the May 5th edition of AEW Dynamite on TNT. Blood and Guts is AEW\’s version of War Games, the double steel cage match created by the late Dusty Rhodes.

Chris Jericho\’s Inner Circle will square off MJF\’s Pinnacle faction in what\’s sure to be a violent affiar that lives up to the Blood and Guts name.

On a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed some details about what fans can expect from this special episode of Dynamite.

\”I think it\’s going to be a one match show,\” said Meltzer. He clarified that AEW might pre-record some other matches and video packages, but he expects that entire show to be built around B&G and for it to be the only live match that takes place that night.

AEW Blood and Guts: May 5th

AEW Dynamite is a 2-hour show, so Blood and Guts will be a long match. The 10-man elimination match will feature \’old school\’ rules – with no pinfalls.

The Blood and Guts double steel cage will feature a roof, which stays true to Dusty Rhodes\’ original concept. WWE\’s version of the match, War Games, did not feature a roof.

AEW is just the latest promotion to present their own version of the mythical War Games match. Aside from the original War Games match presented by the National Wrestling Alliance in 1987, other companies that put their own spin on the \”match beyond\” include ECW, Smoky Mountain, Ring of Honor, Impact Wrestling, Major League Wrestling and WWE/NXT.

  • NWA: When Shadows Fall PPV Announced For June 6th

The National Wrestling Alliance\’s next pay-per-view has been announced.

The NWA presents \”When Our Shadows Fall\” live on pay-per-view on Sunday, June 6th. The event will feature a \’dark and ominous\’ circus theme and streams exclusively at FITE.TV.

NWA President Billy Corgan was quoted in a press release sent in to SEScoops.com:

“We ask our fans from all over the globe to join us as we continue to build on the 73 years-and-counting tradition of the National Wrestling Alliance. It’s an awesome legacy to have to navigate, but as you’ve seen recently with Triller’s headline-making acquisition of FITE, the future of television and live broadcast events is in the digital sphere.”

You can pre-order NWA: When Our Shadows Fall now at FITE.TV.

  • AEW Dynamite Draws 1.104 Million Viewers, 0.37 Rating

TV viewership data is in for Wednesday\’s AEW Dynamite on TNT, the second week of the \’unopposed\’ era.

The April 22nd episode of AEW Dynamite averaged 1.104 million viewers. The show did a 0.37 rating in the Adults 18-49 demographic and finished #2 on cable for the day. The numbers come courtesy of ShowBuzzDaily.

For comparison, Monday\’s WWE Raw averaged 1.907 million viewers and did a 0.61 rating. Dynamite\’s viewership is up since NXT moved to Tuesday\’s, but AEW still has a ways to go before they catch WWE\’s flagship show.

This was the 4th most-watched episode of AEW Dynamite. MTV\’s The Challenge season finale was the highest-rated show of the night, but AEW has a chance to claim that mantle next week.

Overall, this is a strong showing for AEW. The next big test for AEW comes in two weeks, when the company presents Blood and Guts on the May 5th episode.

Check out our results and takeaway\’s from this week\’s AEW Dynamite:

  • Christian Talks About What He Loves About AEW, His Debut & More

Christian Cage is the latest guest on the AEW Unrestricted podcast, presented by the AEW Casino mobile game.

Christian recently signed with All Elite Wrestling and has vowed to, \”Out. Work. Everyone.\” During this discussion with Tony Schiavone and Aubrey Edwards, Captain Charisma spoke about his AEW debut, what he loves about AEW and much more.

Christian made his AEW at the recent Revolution pay-per-view. He was the \’big signing\’ teased by Paul Wight. Even though he\’s been a household name for decades, Christian reveals that he wasn\’t sure how fans would react to him in AEW.

“I get there, and straight onto a bus, and it’s nerve-wracking you know, because you’d be like, ‘Will anybody even care that I’m here?’\” he said. \”You know, you have those kind of thoughts that go through your head a little bit.\”

    Christian in AEW

Christian\’s first match for AEW was against fellow veteran Frankie Kazarian. It was Christian\’s first singles match in seven years. He felt Kazarian was the right guy to work with for his debut.

“I wanted to raise his stock no matter what happened in that match, and I know he felt the same way,\” said Christian. \”When you have two guys committed to that purpose, I think you’re gonna go out there and do something really special.”

Christian was with WWE since the Attitude Era in the late 1990\’s. He knows that system inside and out. There are several ways that AEW differs from WWE. Christian says that one thing in particular that he enjoys is the amount of time that AEW gives talent to do their thing. “That’s the thing, too, that I love about AEW. There’s so much time in these matches to tell these stories.”

Other topics discussed include Jon Moxley\’s role in Christian joining AEW, his appreciation for AEW\’s tag team division, who he\’s excited to work with and more.

Listen to Christian on AEW Unrestricted in the link embedded below.

NXT\’s move to Tuesday nights continues to pay off with an uptrend in viewership.

The 4/20 edition of NXT on the USA Network averaged 841,000 viewers, up from 805,000 last week. The show scored a 0.23 rating in the Adults 18-49 demographic, up from 0.22.

NXT finished 23rd on cable for the day up against news coverage of the Derek Chauvin trial verdict. The numbers come courtesy of ShowbuzzDaily.

WWE\’s black and gold brand is settling in to a new level of viewership on Tuesday nights without the direct competition of AEW Dynamite. They\’ll be in good shape if they can maintain and steadily grow this audience.

Check out our recap and takeaways from this week\’s NXT:

  • Daniel Bryan Tried Getting Out Of The WrestleMania 37 Main Event

Daniel Bryan made history earlier this month when he competed in the main event of WWE WrestleMania 37 (Night 2). He challenged for Roman Reigns\’ Universal Championship in a triple threat match that also involved Edge.

The original plan was for Royal Rumble winner Edge to challenge Reigns one-one-one. Bryan was a late addition. Although headlining WrestleMania is a huge honor that most pro wrestlers never achieve, Bryan reveals that he actually tried getting out of the match several times.

During an interview with BT Sport, Daniel Bryan said, \”I kept trying to get out of it… It was such a strong main event with just the two of them.\”

Bryan acknowledges that he \’added something\’ to the triple threat main event of WrestleMania XXX, where he defeated Randy Orton and Batista to become WWE World Heavyweight Champion. However, he didn\’t feel that he was needed in the main event of WrestleMania 37.

Bryan sensed that certain people in WWE felt like he didn\’t belong in the match either, but couldn\’t say anything. He voiced his opinion backstage, but nobody agreed with him (to his face).

Ultimately, Daniel Bryan was an asset to the match, which was not at all surprising. He is still one of the best wrestlers in the world and his mentality going into WrestleMania shows that he\’s also humble and selfless.

  • Konosuke Takeshita Hopes To Work With Kenny Omega Again in AEW

Japanese wrestling star Konosuke Takeshita is headed back to Japan after a successful (short) stint working for AEW.

The 25-year-old primarily works for Japan\’s DDT promotion. He spent a few weeks in the United States and wrestled at three AEW events. He worked the \’House Always Wins\’ non-televised event during WWE WrestleMania weekend. He also competed on two episodes of AEW Dark: Elevation.

Earlier this week, Takeshita posted on Twitter that he\’s returning home, but hopes to return to AEW in the future as DDT Champion. He stated that his next goal is to appear on All Elite Wrestling\’s flagship show, AEW Dynamite. He let American wrestling fans know, this is only goodbye \’for now.\’

    Konosuke Takeshita & Kenny Omega

Konosuke Takeshita teamed up with AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and Michael Nakazawa this past week on Dark: Elevation. They defeated Danny Limelight, Matt and Mike Sydal\’s in the main event.

Omega took notice of Takeshita\’s message. He replied with condescension. \”We sent him home packing but he was a good hand. He fought the good fight for the brothers in the Elite. Maybe we\’ll bring him back?\”

Takeshita took Omega\’s \’good hand\’ jab in stride. He thanked the champion for his support and hinted that they might cross paths again in the future.

  • Charlotte Flair Reacts To WWE Suspension & $100,000 Fine

Charlotte Flair snapped during the main event segment of Monday\’s WWE Raw. The 13-time Women\’s Champion faced Asuka in the final match of the show. Asuka picked up the win by pinfall after interference by Raw Women\’s Champion, Rhea Ripley.

The Queen lashed out after the finish. She viciously attacked referee Eddie Orengo and went back for more after WWE officials pulled her off the ref.

During the post-Raw edition of Raw Talk, WWE official Adam Pearce announced that Charlotte has been suspended indefinitely as a result of her actions. She was also hit with a $100,000 fine, according to storylines.

Charlotte Reacts To Suspension & Fine

Charlotte Flair posted a series of messages on social media addressing the situation. She is outraged that WWE had the audacity to discipline her, despite the fact that she repeatedly assaulted an official.

\”This whole thing sped past ridiculous, jumped over absurd and landed right on stupid,\” she wrote. \”The top two wrestlers in WWE having a classic match on the flagship show, and for what? To be ruined by a petulant child with Road Warriors cosplay shoulder pads.\”

Flair continued, \”They found one other thing as well: audacity. The audacity to fine me. The audacity to physically remove me from MY RING and remove me from a building with MY NAME on the marquee. The fine? The suspension? Adam Pearce? All the same, a joke.\”

It is unknown at this time why Charlotte Flair is being written off WWE television.
