  • Survivor Series to feature 2 WarGames Matches, \’Brand Warfare\’ Dropped

WWE has announced major changes to the format of this year\’s Survivor Series premium live event. For the first time in history, the November classic will feature not just one, but two WarGames matches. There will be a Men\’s WarGames match and a Women\’s WarGames match.

Also of note, Survivor Series will no longer feature a Raw vs. SmackDown theme. According to Triple H, the show will be more storyline-driven instead of being about brand supremacy.

Triple H spoke with The Ringer about the big shakeup coming to Survivor Series.

“The tradition of the Survivor Series has ebbed and flowed and changed slightly over time, but this will be similar to that,” he Triple H. \”This will not be Raw versus SmackDown. It will be much more story-line driven. I still look at it as a traditional component to Survivor Series in there because it’s large teams of people competing. We just upped the ante a little bit with WarGames and made it evolve.\”

No \’Blood and Guts\’ in WWE WarGames

WarGames has historically been one of the most violent matches in all of professional wrestling. Triple H doesn\’t think WarGames needs to feature \’blood and guts\’ because the world is very different these days. He feels the world has evolved and blood is not necessary for a compelling WarGames match.

“I’m just of the opinion right now, given the state of the world and the pandemic, and at the end of the day, what we do is dangerous enough without intentionally making it more dangerous. Yes, we did [feature bleeding] for a long period of time, but we’ve changed that practice. And it’s irresponsible to go back.”

Visit The Ringer to check out their lengthy feature on the return of WarGames, featuring more quotes from Triple H.

WWE Survivor Series takes place November 26th from Boston, MA at the TD Garden arena. The event will stream live on Peacock int he United States and on the WWE Network internationally.

  • Trish Stratus Underwent Emergency Surgery Over the Weekend

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus says she has \”3 new scars and one less organ\” after undergoing appendectomy surgery over the weekend.

Stratus was experiencing bad cramping in her abdomen over the past several days. She feels that she has a high tolerance for pain, but things got so bad that she took herself to the hospital. It turns out that was a very smart decision, because doctors determined her appendix had to be removed immediately.

\”Turns out my appendix was getting ready to burst – which can be really bad if it happens and like cause death and stuff so I’m really glad I went to check it out, you know to avoid the whole dying thing.\”

    – Trish Stratus

In a message she posted on Instagram, Stratus urges her fans to listen to their bodies and get checked out if something doesn\’t feel right.

\”Some takeaways – listen to your body. Dr. Google told me appendicitis was pain in the lower right abdomen, so that’s why it took me a while to think it was that because at first the pain was all across my belly. But after getting another Dr. Google’s opinion (reading another article) I found out it will start as pain across your stomach (also was tender to touch) but as the appendix gets more inflamed the pain will migrate to the right side and continue to to get worse. And boy did it. Turns out it’s an organ that serves no function so good riddance old pal.

Got 3 new scars to add to my body badges and one less organ … recovery hasn’t been too bad so far, definitely manageable. Just wanted to check in!\”

Here\’s the video of Trish at the hospital:

  • New Plans for the AEW Full Gear Main Event

All Elite Wrestling is hitting the reset button amid the fallout from Sunday\’s All Out pay-per-view. The World Championship has been vacated. Death Triangle won the vacant Trios Championships on Dynamite. The next few months of storylines are being rewritten due to the company\’s top stars serving suspensions.

A tournament of champions is underway to crown a new AEW World Champion. The semi-finals will take place next week on Dynamite. Chris Jericho will battle Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley will face the winner of Friday\’s match between Darby Allin and Sammy Guevara. The finals will take place at the Grand Slam edition of Dynamite on September 21st.

Tony Khan books storylines several months in advance, so he\’s been forced to scramble and come up with new ideas for remainder of the year. Whatever plans for November\’s Full Gear pay-per-view are out the window. A new main event is currently in the works.

(NOTE: the following information contains potential spoilers for the ongoing AEW Tournament of Champions)

    Full Gear Main Event

AEW is discussing Jon Moxley vs. MJF as the main event for Full Gear 2022, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. The implication is that Moxley will win the Grand Slam Tournament of Champions. MJF earned a contract to challenge the AEW World Champion by winning the Casino Ladder match at All Out.

As we saw on Wednesday\’s Dynamite, the chess pieces are already being put into place for this eventual showdown.

AEW Full Gear takes place Saturday, November 19th from the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.

  • Seth Rollins is the New Mr. WrestleMania and He Knows It

Seth Rollins has developed into one of WWE\’s most valuable Superstars since bursting on to the scene in 2012 as a member of The Shield. He can always be counted on to deliver a show-stealing performance, especially when it is the most needed.

Rollins was Ryan Satin\’s guest on the latest episode of the Out of Character podcast for Fox Sports. Their discussion took place at SoFi Stadium, site of next year\’s WrestleMania. The 5-time World Champion boasts that he\’s hit \”all home runs\” and delivered \”all bangers\” on WWE\’s grandest stage.

\”Yeah, WrestleMania is always good for me. I\’ve got great memories of it as a fan and now as a performer,\” he said. \”I feel like, I\’d have to rack by main, but I feel like I\’ve had all home runs at WrestleMania. I think, all bangers, as far as I can remember. We had a couple of real short ones with The Shield, we opened our first WrestleMania in New York, and then did a straight squash of Kane and the New Age Outlaws, which is nice to have on your resume as well, those are Hall of Famers. Other than that, I feel like it\’s just been knocking it out of the park every time. So yeah, WrestleMania kind of rocks for me.\”

    The New Mr. WrestleMania

Satin suggested that Rollins is the current generation\’s \”Mr. WrestleMania,\” a moniker once bestowed upon WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels. Those are big shoes to fill, but they\’re a better fit on Rollins than anybody else.

\”Yeah, there\’s a lot of pressure at WrestleMania time. I think it\’s one of those things, the longer you do this, I\’ve been doing this I think 10 years now that I\’m on the roster with WWE, the live events become lighter, there\’s less pressure all around, TV becomes routine.

Even some of the bigger pay-per-views, I\’ve done a lot of them, but WrestleMan is always WrestleMania. There\’s something super special about it. There\’s always that extra buildup and that extra pressure to steal the show or make an impact. You want to leave a moment that people will leave forever, so I\’m very fortunate to be part of a few of those.\”

    Seth Rollins\’ WrestleMania Record

Seth Rollins has competed in 10 WrestleMania matches since his debut at WrestleMania 29 back in 2013. Since then, he\’s earned a record of 6 wins and 4 losses at WWE\’s biggest event of the year. It\’s a healthy winning record, but it\’s the quality of his performances that solidify Rollins as this generation\’s Mr. WrestleMania.

    • WrestleMania 30 (2014): The Shield def. Kane and The New Age Outlaws

  • Ric Flair Biopic in the Works, A-Lister Contacted to Play Him

Ric Flair\’s life story would make for an entertaining movie. As it turns out, we might get to see this for ourselves. According to comments from the man himself, a Nature Boy biopic is in the works and the creators have had talks with a Hollywood A-lister about portraying him.

On latest episode of the \”To Be The Man\” podcast, host Conrad Thompson presented Ric with a question sent in by a listener.

Q: Who would you like to play you in a movie?

Flair reveals that feelers have been sent to Bradley Cooper about playing him on the big screen. There is no deal in place, but he\’s hopeful that Cooper signs on.

\”Well, there\’s talks right now that I can\’t mention. They are making a movie about my life and I know that they\’ve talked to Bradley Cooper.\”

\”I could see him doing that. I could se him.. that\’s the only name that\’s come up I don\’t.. That\’s only rumored. I mean, I\’ve heard it officially, but it\’s not in place. So ladies and gentlemen, it\’s not true that he\’s playing Ric Flair. I\’ve heard they\’ve talked to him, that\’s it. Bradley Coooper is not playing me in a movie, yet. I hope he does.\”

Flair has been talking about wanting Bradley Cooper to portray him in a movie since 2019.

    If Not Bradley Cooper..

If they can\’t get Bradley Cooper to portray him, Flair has another box office heavy hitter in mind.

\”You know who else I like? Chris Pratt. That TV show Terminal List is unbelievable. Have you seen it? On Prime? Oh, you\’ve gotta see Terminal List, it\’s phenomenal.\”

Conrad told Ric he\’s heard actor Sebastian Stan wants to portray him, and Ric said he\’s heard the same thing.

  • Solo Sikoa Comments on Joining WWE\’s Bloodline Faction

Solo Sikoa is ready to take his rightful place alongside The Bloodline this Friday on WWE SmackDown.

The younger brother of The Usos (and cousin of Roman Reigns) has been making a name for himself in NXT since his arrival in October 2021. After weeks of rumors that he\’s headed to the main roster, Sikoa appeared in the main event of Saturday\’s Clash at the Castle premium live event.

Sikoa instantly proved his usefulness to Reigns by getting involved when it counted the most. With Drew McIntyre seconds away from dethroning Reigns, Sikoa emerged and pulled the referee out of the ring and interrupted what could have been the deciding pinfall.

    Solo Sikoa Joins the Bloodline

Just because Solo Sikoa helped Roman Reigns retain the Undisputed WWE Universal championship, that doesn\’t guarantee he will officially join the Bloodline faction.Well, WWE is now advertising exactly that.

WWE has published a teaser video hyping Friday\’s SmackDown titled, \”The Bloodline\’s family grows.\” The voiceover on the video states, \”This Friday, Acknowledge a Bigger, Badder Bloodline.\”

  • Rhea Ripley Feeling Like Herself Again: Confident, Chaotic & Brutal

Rhea Ripley has been on a mean streak since turning on former partner Liv Morgan back in April, but her character has taken a noticeably darker turn since joining Judgment Day.

The former Raw Women\’s champion is one of the toughest competitors in WWE. With Finn Balor and Damian Priest at her side, she\’s more dangerous than ever. Ripley has been racking up wins and it\’s only a matter of time before she\’s back in the title picture.

Ripley participated in a media scrum prior to Saturday\’s Clash at the Castle event and told Inside the Ropes that she believes it\’s important to constantly evolve your on-screen presence. During her time wrestling in the women\’s tag team division with Nikki A.S.H. and later Liv Morgan, she \”lost herself\” along the way and regressed as a performer.

\”I sort of lost myself and lost that brutal streak that I had… I was becoming too lovey-dovey and just like, trying to please people again,\” she said.

    Confident, Chaotic and Brutal

Rhea Ripley realized she was losing her edge, so she looked within herself. She remembered who she really is, which is what got her to the big time (WWE) in the first palce.

\”I was like, ‘Nah, nah, fam. I don’t want this, I don’t like this.’ So, I’m just gonna be me again. [I\’m going to be] confident and be a menace and just be chaotic and brutal.\”

    – Rhea Ripley

The Judgment Day is riding a wave of momentum following Clash at the Castle. After months of feuding with Rey and Dominik Mysterio, Dom did the unthinkable and turned on his father at the event. It remains to be seen if he\’ll join the group, but Judgment Day remains at the forefront of WWE storylines, thanks in no small part to Rhea Ripley.

Strickland and Lee successfully defended the gold against the Acclaimed at Sunday\’s AEW All Out pay-per-view. At the post-show media scrum, AEW President Tony Khan floated the idea of a rematch at Grand Slam later this month at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York.

The champions initially scoffed at the idea, since the Acclaimed got their shot and the titles and came up short. However, Khan said the Acclaimed impressed him with their performance and is strongly considering \’running it back\’ at Grand Slam.

  • Kevin Nash Clarifies His Will Ospreay \’Merchandise Sales\’ Remark

Wrestling legend Kevin Nash is defending his controversial remark about Will Ospreay\’s merchandise sales. Late last month, Twitter account \’Wrestling Banana\’ tweeted an interesting statistic about Ospreay having an incredible string of matches.

Banana pointed out that Ospreay had more \”5-star matches\” (according to Dave Meltzer\’s famous scoring metric) in a one-month period (4) than CM Punk, John Cena and Kurt Angle have achieved throughout their entire careers, combined (3).

Nash replied to the tweet by asking, \”How\’s his merchandise sales?\” Nash\’s question set of a huge debate on social media bout about the contrast between \’having great matches\’ and being a box office attraction.

    Kevin Nash\’s Defense

Nash addressed the situation on the latest episode of his Kliq This podcast with Sean Oliver. \”I\’m so glad you\’re bringing this up,\” said Nash. \”This is such [BS].\”

He says, had Wrestling Banana stopped at the first part of the tweet and simply touted Will Ospreay\’s accomplishments, he would not have said a thing. The fact that they used big stars to make a comparison is what prompted him to comment.

Nash says its absurd to criticize the \’match quality\’ of guys like John Cena CM Punk and Kurt Angle, because they are undoubtedly massively successful, no matter what Dave Meltzer thinks.

\”You\’re talking about three guys that nobody has less than $15 million net worth.\”

    – Kevin Nash

Having defended his quip about merchandise sales, Nash then took his defense in an entirely different direction. He claims that his reaction was actually directed at Wrestling Banana, not Opsreay.

\”The thing is, if you go back to my response, not \’How are your merchandise sales?\’ How are HIS merchandise sales. That response is to Wrestling Banana. It\’s not to Will. Will didn\’t make the statement. So, I am in no way saying anything to Will. That was directed to Wrestling Banana.\”

    – Kevin Nash

Nash says Wrestling Banana \’has the narrative\’ – not Will, and claims they\’re \’using\’ Will in the situation. He added, \”It\’s [BS]. I\’ve never seen Will work a match in my life.\”

  • WWE Honoring Goldberg 25 Years After WCW Nitro Debut

WWE is honoring wrestling legend Bill Goldberg 25 years after he burst onto the national wrestling scene.

Goldberg made his WCW Nitro debut back on September 22, 1997. The former NFL star from Tulsa, Oklahoma wrestled a handful of dark matches prior to his debut. In fact, his last match before debuting on WCW Nitro was a non-televised loss to Chad Fortune at a WCW Saturday Night taping in July of that year.

Goldberg was a virtual unknown when he faced Hugh Morrus that fateful night. He steamrolled the Dungeon of Doom member and instantly made a big impression with WCW fans. This began his historic 173-match winning stream that would make him a household name and catapult him to the highest levels of pro wrestling stardom.

Goldberg was known for a level of intensity that was unrivaled at the time.

After WCW folded in 2001, Goldberg found his way to WWE in 2003. He had memorable feuds with The Rock and Triple H before departing the following year.

Goldberg returned to the wrestling world more than a decade later, and has wrestled sporatically for WWE since 2016. His legendary career includes 5 World Championship reigns and a coveted WWE Hall of Fame in 2018.

WWE honoring Goldberg\’s \”silver anniversary\” by paying homage to Da Man all month long. WWE will be celebrating Goldberg\’s \”greatest moments, toughest battles and biggest Jackhammers\” across its social media channels.

The company is encouraging fans to use the hashtag #Goldberg25 to share their favorite memories of Goldberg.

Getting Jackknifed just took on a whole new meaning. WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash recently partnered up with Hyman Cannabis. He\’s got his very own strain named Jackknife after his signature powerbomb finishing move. The Jacknife strain is a hybrid of Creamsicle and, Soñando, one of Hyman\’s proprietary genetics.

Nash has spoken about being an occasional smoker and uses a THC/CBD topical rub on his body to minimize pain and inflammation. In a press release sent in to SEScoops, Nash says,

\”I\’m familiar with cannabis, and the one thing I look for when I\’m consuming marijuana is quality. Hyman cultivators have achieved a level of quality that is like nothing else I\’ve tried. The clarity, potency, and their entire internal process is why I chose them – everything Hyman does is by design.\”

  • The Stage is Set for MJF To Ruin CM Punk at AEW All Out

The stage is nearly set for MJF to make a triumphant return to AEW. We last saw the brash Long island loudmouth on the June 1st edition of AEW Dynamite. This was an eventful show. Just days after losing his former enforcer Wardlow at Double or Nothing, MJF cut a \”pipe bomb\” promo that people will be talking about for years to come. That was also the night CM Punk broke his foot. The injury kept Punk of action for months and changed the course of AEW storylines. After some jarring detours, we\’re almost back on track.

MJF hasn\’t been heard from since that fateful night. Punk recently returned to action, perhaps too soon. During his absence, Jon Moxley became the Interim AEW World Champion. The belts were unified on the August 24th edition of Dynamite. Moxley steamrolled Punk in a matter of minutes.

Punk gets a shot at redemption tonight at All Out. It\’s a chance for him to make things right in front of his hometown crowd and truly begin an AEW World title reign that was knocked off course due to injury three months ago. It\’s also a golden opportunity for MJF to storm back into the picture and renew his blood feud with his most detested rival to date.

    MJF\’s Golden Opportunity

Punk and MJF had a bitter feud earlier this year, which seems like ages ago after all that\’s transpired since. Punk was victorious when they clashed at Revolution. Their dog collar match was a bloody affair, as advertised. MJF lost that night, but he never lost sight of humbling and humiliating Punk.

MJF knows Punk on the verge of sweet redemption. Winning the AEW World Championship from Hangman Page was a big deal, but the stakes are much higher this time. Punk will have to muster everything he\’s got to defeat Moxley.

If he does so, it will be a euphoric moment for 43 year old. He\’s questioned himself, he\’s wondered if \”his 100%\” is enough to be the best anymore. He\’ll be on top of the world if he regains the title from Moxley. And if he does – it\’s the perfect opportunity for MJF to emerge and shatter Punk\’s world.

Tony Khan has said the AEW roster will be as strong as it\’s ever been after All Out. You can\’t really get there without your hottest young prospect back in the fold. MJF hates CM Punk. He\’s hell-bent on becoming AEW Champion.

We\’re also just a few weeks away from Grand Slam, the upcoming stadium show that will be held just miles away from where MJF grew up. AEW may have other plans in the works, but you\’d be hard pressed to book a better scenario that maximizes the impact of MJF\’s return and catapults him to where he belongs.

  • Tyson Fury Addresses WWE Future After Clash at the Castle

Tyson Fury made an impact at Saturday\’s WWE Clash at the Castle event from Cardiff, Wales. During the main event clash between Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre, Austin Theory\’s theme music hit and the crowd erupted. Theory raced to the ring, referee in tow, to capitalize on Reigns being worn down by a grueling match. Before he could officially cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase, Tyson Fury stood up from his ringside seat and connected with a punch that knocked Theory senseless.

Reigns went on to win the match. To the surprise of the rabid crowd, Fury entered the ring and went face-to-face with the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Fury congratulated Reings on his win and they shook hands. Fury took a microphone, praised Drew McIntyre and led the crowd in singing American Pie to end the show.

Tyson Fury Open to Wrestling for WWE

After Clash at the Castle went off the air, WWE held a press conference for the media to ask questions of talent who appeared on the event. Tyson Fury participated, alongside Drew McIntyre and Triple H. A reporter asked Fury about his future with WWE.

Fury explained that he is a heavyweight boxing champion and won\’t be hanging up his gloves anytime soon. However, he \”really, really has a passion for WWE\” and says there\’s a real possibility that he will get back into a WWE ring at some point in the future.

\”You know what, at the moment I\’m a heavyweight world champion and I\’ve got plenty of fights I\’ve got to take care of in the next few years. But, I really really have a passion for WWE. As you see, me being at Crown Jewel and a couple of other events as well. Never say never. Lets just say, Triple H is here and I\’ll definitely be open to it in the future for sure.\”

  • WWE\’s Newest Faction Has a Name and Theme Music

The new WWE faction comprised of Bayley, Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai finally have a name, as well as new theme music.

The trio formed at July\’s SummerSlam premium live event. Since then, they\’ve been making their presence known. Saturday\’s Clash at the Castle premium live event was a \”coming out\” party of sorts for the talented trio.

Bayley, Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai were victorious over the team of Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss and Asuka. Bayley got the win for her team by pinning Belair. Even though it was a 6-woman tag match, Bayley can make a strong case for a Raw Women\’s title match after pinning Belair\’s shoulders to the mat.

    Damage Control

Bayley, Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai are now known as Damage Control. The name has been referenced before, WWE made it \’official\’ at Clash at the Castle with entrance music and graphics.

Fans on social media wasted no time picking up on the fact that Damage Control is the name of a construction company appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The company specializes in repairing the property damage caused by conflicts between superheroes and supervillains.

Shortly after Bayley\’s surprise return at WWE SummerSlam, she spoke about the idea behind her new faction. During an appearance on WWE\’s After the Bell podcast, she told Corey graves:

“This is something that I’ve wanted for a while, I would say a couple of years. [It’s] actually something that I’ve talked to Hunter about before. Just wanting something different for the division and using girls that I think were either underutilized or that didn’t get that opportunity or didn’t get that spotlight. Just a way to evolve myself as in like many different variations of this faction or group that I wanted.”
