  • \”This is Insane\”- Drew McIntyre Thanks CM Punk For Bringing Out The Worst In HIm

Drew McIntyre is thankful to his arch-nemesis CM Punk for their epic promo segment ahead of WrestleMania 40.

On the March 25 edition of Raw, McIntyre, CM Punk, and then-WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins traded personal shots. The segment gained traction due to Punk coercing McIntyre to mention Vince McMahon, who is not mentioned anymore in WWE due to allegations. This happened after the Scotsman referred to himself as \’The Chosen One,\’ the nickname that McMahon gave him.

Punk is one of the best talkers in WWE and he possesses commendable promo skills. Speaking with Alex McCarthy of Mail Sport, McIntyre thanked Punk for the segment and said that he knew that the former WWE Champion would bring his \’A-game\’ during the exchange. He said:

“I have to thank him for that I guess. One thing I can thank him for. If he’s got that microphone you know he’s bringing his A-game and perhaps the first time we were in the ring together he was still finding his feet being back in WWE. I think he realized – I know he realized, I could see it in his eyes – this isn’t the same Drew and I had his number the first time we were in the ring together, and I stomped his stupid little arm.”

    \’Guns loaded\’

\’The Scottish Warrior\’ realized that CM Punk would bring his prime version of himself in the battle and the former kept his artillery ready. McIntyre is grateful for the opportunity to go toe-to-toe with Punk on the mic and admitted that the \”insane\” segment escalated quickly. He said:

“The second time, I could see it in his eyes, ‘Right, I’m back, I’ve got all my guns loaded,’ and this is the CM Punk of old. And I knew I could either step up to his level or I can drown and I don’t belong at his level. So it was cool to have that opportunity to go back and forth and have people go, ‘Oh my god, this is insane.’ When you thought it couldn’t get anymore insane it kept escalating and escalating. You have to be quick on your feet and you have to know exactly who you are in this industry if you’re going to compete at the top level.”

McIntyre once again thanked Punk for the segment and even praised the addition of Seth Rollins. He said:

“So I can say thank you to him for showing in that segment everybody that said well, Drew just went to-to-toe with Punk in his prime, on fire. And Seth also added to that segment in what has become something of a legendary segment. It’s all people talk to me about recently.”

While CM Punk recuperates from a torn tricep injury, McIntyre is sidelined with an elbow injury. \’The Scottish Warrior\’ was set to face The Judgment Day\’s Finn Balor in the first round of The King of The Ring tournament.

However, he was not medically cleared and was replaced by Jey Uso, who punched his ticket to the next round. CM Punk and Drew McIntyre will lock horns at a later date and reports suggest that it might be at SummerSlam in August.

  • Drew McIntyre Ruthlessly Mocks CM Punk For Hyping His WWE 2K24 Character

CM Punk hyped his return to WWE 2K24 in style and he took cheeky jabs at his arch-nemesis Drew McIntyre in the process. However, \’The Scottish Warrior\’ is not a man to hold back his thoughts and fired back at Punk.

The Chicago legend is making his return to the game as a playable character for the first time in ten long years. \’The Second City Savior\’ is among several other legends as part of the downloadable content, \’ECW Punk Pack\’ that the WWE 2K24 gamers can access with a Season Pass. WWE legends such as Terry Funk, Dudley Boyz, and Sandman are also part of the pack. Taking to his Instagram account, CM Punk posted a video message to promote the game and took a jibe at McIntyre. Here is what he said:

“Good news, everybody. CM Punk is finally available to play in WWE 2K24. It’s making waves on the internet, so you know Drew McIntyre’s watching it. I’m put in the Punk Pack, that includes myself and some hardcore legends from ECW like Sandman, The Dudleyz, and the most hardcore legend of all, Terry Funk.”

“Now Drew, if you are watching this, let’s face it, it’s on the internet, so you’re watching it. You can finally play as your favorite wrestler and human being, me. CM Punk. Hope you have a terrible day, pal.”

    Drew McIntyre responds

\’The Scottish Warrior\’ noticed Punk\’s remarks and responded on X. He played a video clip of Punk in the WWE 2K24 game where he could be seen hobbling after performing a top rope move. \’The Scottish Warrior\’ yet again mocked Punk for his injury and wrote:

“lol he’s in the game for one day and already hurt”

CM Punk sustained a torn tricep injury at Royal Rumble 2024 and McIntyre has been taking credit for the same. He has been mocking Punk for the same ever since. Punk is currently sidelined but he has shown impressive recovery after surgery. He even dropped the brace six weeks after undergoing surgery.

As Punk has showcased a great recuperation, reports suggest that he might be back in a matter of the next few months and even compete at the SummerSlam Premium Live Event in August.

Damage CTRL member Asuka has revealed to her fans that she is dealing with a knee injury.

Taking to her YouTube channel \’Kana Chan TV\’, the former WWE Women\’s Champion stated that she is taking her time off after Backlash: France Premium Live Event to treat recover from a knee injury. In her vlog, Asuka expressed her gratitude towards Damage CTRL teammates, Dakota Kai and Kairi Sane for their help during the European tour. She revealed that he had not been at her best. At the end of her vlog, she wrote \”See you soon.\”

    Injury scare

Back in March, reports emerged that Asuka suffered a possible knee injury and missed house shows due to the injury. It took place during an edition of SmackDown and fans in attendance noted that the Japanese wrestler was hobbling in the ring which raised concerns.

However, at a WWE Live Event in Springfield, Illinois on March 23, Asuka made her return to in-ring action. She joined forces with Damage CTRL teammates, IYO SKY and Kairi Sane, and faced the team of Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair & Naomi in a losing effort.

Asuka\’s last match before her hiatus took place at WWE Backlash: France earlier this month. The powerful team of Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair dethroned Asuka and Kairi Sane to capture the WWE Women\’s Tag Team Championships. Meanwhile, in the Queen of The Ring Tournament. \’The Empress of Tomorrow\’ was replaced by Dakota Kai, who endured a loss against Lyra Valkyria in the First Round match. • Drew McIntyre Pleads SGW Ground Landlord Not To Evict The Crew

Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre has a request for Mr. Sylus, the landlord of the ground where Soft Ground Wrestling (SGW) Uganda wrestlers perform and make videos.

The Uganda-based wrestling promotion has recently gained some traction on social media and several popular wrestlers have extended their support. However, the ground where they perform is rented and they are experiencing financial strain to continue their operations.

The official SGW\’s X account posted the message from \’The Scottish Warrior\’, who was thankful to the landlord, Mr. Sylus. The former WWE Champion showered praise on SGW for their passion which has garnered the attention of everybody in the pro wrestling industry. McIntyre further said that he is hopeful of WWE getting to Uganda and hosting a show. McIntyre also pled Mr. Sylus not to evict the SGW crew and wait for the funds to be raised for the purchase of land. Here is what he said in the video clip:

\”Mr. Sylus, Drew McIntyre here, just shooting a little message to say thank you so much for hosting Softground Wrestling on your land. I hear you’re a fan of Drew McIntyre, so I want to say thank you so much for all your support. I can also tell you I’m a big fan of yours. It’s awesome, what you’re doing to help everybody at SGW. Their passion has grabbed the attention of everybody in our industry, and I appreciate you for being such a big part of it. Hopefully, one day, WWE will make its way to your part of the world. We can host a show there. We can feel the passion through the screen from all the lads. Maybe we can grab a picture together. But until then, thank you.\”

SGW has become the latest sensation for its endeavors to contribute to the pro wrestling industry. The promotion uses a soil ring and string ropes instead of a traditional wrestling ring and ropes. The ring also has bamboo posts in place of steel posts. The promotion also helps in training the up-and-coming wrestlers as they train over 180 aspiring wrestlers.

Fans on social media have set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for the promotion in their battle against financial strain. Will Ospreay was one of the first wrestlers who got familiar with SGW and even contributed a whopping sum of $2,000

It recently came to light that over $28,000 was raised by the wrestlers and the pro wrestling community for SGW. Former WWE star Mansoor also stepped up and announced that his mother would purchase a van for SGW to show her support for the promotion. While the wrestlers are trying to provide financial assistance to SGW, the promotion is working on crowning their first champion.

  • Report: CM Punk \’Not Far\’ From Returning, Could Wrestle At SummerSlam

CM Punk is set to make his return from injury in the near future. \’The Second City Savior\’ is currently recuperating from a torn tricep injury that he suffered during the 2024 Men\’s Royal Rumble match. He has shown impressive recovery after going under the knife and stopped using the brace just six weeks following surgery.

Punk He is going the extra mile in rehab and there is a huge possibility that he could be back before the time set for this return. An encouraging update comes from Dave Meltzer, who passed along an update on Punk\’s recovery this morning on Wrestling Observer Radio

    SummerSlam may be Clobbering Time

Dave Meltzer says he\’s expected to be back in the ring this summer, 7-9 months after the surgery.

“Punk’s not that far from being back most likely. If he had his surgery at the end of January, you’re looking at the end of July, August, maybe September. It’s not that far away anymore. He might make SummerSlam. And if he can make SummerSlam, Punk and Drew for the title, that makes a lot of sense. Even if he can’t, you can do it a month after. Punk will be back fairly soon, it’s not as far away as sometimes you think because of that surgery.”

The report certainly keeps the hopes of Punk working WWE SummerSlam alive. The event takes place on August 3.

CM Punk\’s bitter feud with Drew McIntyre

The feud between Punk and McIntyre is getting more fierce and uglier. There has been blood between the two veteran wrestlers since Royal Rumble 2024. The Chicago legend suffered the aforementioned injury at the hands of \’The Scottish Warrior and the latter has been boasting it for months.

Punk managed to get even with his arch-nemesis when he cost Drew McIntyre the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40. Punk launched an attack on \’The Scottish Warrior\’ that helped Damian Priest to cash in his Money In The Bank contract. While CM Punk remains away from in-ring action, he has had verbal exchanges with Drew McIntyre. Their feud continues to boil every week and once Punk is back, fans will certainly see them settle the matter in the ring.

CM Punk made his return to WWE last year in November. Now, he is also returning to WWE 2K24 after an absence of ten long years.

  • Ilja Dragunov: \”When I’m Pain, I’m an Entire Monster\”

Ilja Dragunov already making a mark on WWE\’s main roster

Dragunov was visibly frustrated when he spoke to Cathy Kelley in a Raw Exclusive. When he was asked about his defeat at the hands of Jey Uso, Dragunov said that though the loss was frustrating there is no shame that he lost to \’Main Event\’ Jey Uso. He revealed that he was \”tired\” and in \”pain\”. However, he finds beauty in it as he becomes an entire monster when he is in pain.

\”I mean, what should I say? It’s so frustrating, it is. But where is actually the shame to lose to the man the ‘Main Event’, right? All I know right now, I’m tired, I’m in pain, but the beauty of it is that in already very dangerous in this ring. But when I’m pain, I’m an entire monster.\”

When asked about sharing his predictions for the semi-clash clash, he showered praise on both Jey Uso and Gunther. He also quoted WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels and said:

\”Predictions? I mean, they’re both like the absolute bar. The only prediction I can make is for myself, and this prediction is, no one is safe anymore. To quote Shawn Michaels, ‘I’m what the kids call a real problem.\”

Jey Uso is now all set to face Gunther in the semi-final clash on next week\’s edition of Raw.

    Dragunov\’s main roster call up

Ilja Dragunov had a successful run in WWE\’s developmental brand, NXT. He became the NXT Champion and defended the title against some of the top stars on the brand. His reign came to an end when he was dethroned by rising superstar, Trick Williams.

During the fourth round on the Night Two of the 2024 WWE Draft, Raw bagged the signing of Ilja Dragunov which was certainly a massive pick. His performance in NXT was pretty impressive and his main roster call-up opens the door for some huge matches in the future.

Edde Kingston was unsuccessful in defending his NJPW Strong Openweight title against Gabe Kidd in a No-rope Last Man Standing Match. After the disappointing loss, Jack Perry made his way to the ring and had a staredown with \’The Mad King.\’ The distraction led to Nicholas and Matthew entering the ring and launching a blindsided attack on Kingston. After delivering a promo, they eventually went on to take him out with an EVP trigger.

  • Rob Van Dam Is Open To An Extended Run With AEW

Pro wrestling legend Rob Van Dam has shed some light on his future at AEW after making only a handful of appearances.

Since making his debut in August 2023, he has competed in only six matches. This sparked concern for his future with the promotion but RVD is not ruling out a longer run with AEW. Speaking on 1 of A Kind Podcast, he said that he would consider an offer but he is yet to have discussions for a possible extended run. He said:

“I would like to think that I’m open to any conversation. So anything’s worth considering. Let’s hear what you got in mind, whatever. But no, I don’t have any of those talks. What you see is what you get, and that’s all anybody is talking about. All anyone is talking about doing, let me put it that way.”

He further said that taking time off and not wrestling full-time has a disadvantage – it impacts the conditioning. RVD has explained that if he wrestled more often then fans could see a more \’fluid\’ version of himself. He said:

\”One thing the fans don’t take into consideration that I do, it’s cool having time off and I don’t want to be full-time, anything like that. But it is a big disadvantage, being in the ring, because no matter how much conditioning that I do, there’s no wrestling conditioning like wrestling. So if I was wrestling like every week, instead of sometimes every six weeks, maybe eight weeks, whatever, then you would have a little bit even more fluid RVD.\”

    Rob Van Dam\’s AEW career

The 53-year-old has been making sporadic appearances in AEW. He immediately made a mark after his debut when he went up against then-FTW Champion Jack Perry. Though he was unsuccessful in dethroning the champ, he received massive praise for the match. RVD then went on to team up with Hook for a couple of matches over two months.

Earlier this year in January, the veteran wrestler faced Sean Strickland in a Hardcore match but endured a defeat. RVD competed in a six-man tag team match joining forces with Adam Page and Hook in February. His last match for the promotion took place a few weeks back when he picked up his maiden win after defeating Isiah Kassidy, Komander, and Lee Johnson.

While fans might wonder why RVD is not heading to WWE, the veteran star blames the lack of connection with WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H. Read more below:

  • Chris Jericho Reveals The Idea Behind New \’Learning Tree\’ Gimmick

Chris Jericho is focused on storylines and characters which he believes are the major aspects of pro wrestling.

The former AEW World Champion has portrayed several interesting gimmicks during his illustrious career, the latest being \’The Learning Tree.\’ Chris Jericho recently joined the Kevin Karius Show to outline the significance of evolving gimmicks over time. The 53-year-old veteran said that the matches are important but the stories and characters draw the attention of the fans which remains  \”the most important aspect\” to him. He said:

\”I just started doing this Learning Tree gimmick a few weeks ago. That\’s the best thing about wrestling, when people start to get mad at you, you turn into a bad guy and when people like you, you turn into a good guy. This is the start of this whole new persona as we continue the story. That\’s the most important thing about wrestling, the story. The matches are important, but the characters and the storylines are what really draws people into watching you and draws people into following what you\’re doing. To me, that\’s always been the most important thing.\”

    \’The Learning Tree\’

Chris Jericho further explained that \’The Learning Tree\’ gimmick is based on the role of a teacher. Being a seasoned veteran of the game and with extensive pro wrestling knowledge, Jericho\’s persona is a reflection of his real life. He aims to teach and guide the up-and-coming AEW stars. However, he possesses heel traits as he gets people \”mad,\” given the fact that he is a treasure of knowledge. He explained:

\”The teacher. I\’ve been doing this for a long time. I thought, what\’s a cool way to personify that and make people mad? I\’ve been doing this at a high level, I thought, I\’ll adopt this persona of being the seasoned vet that teaches the rookies the ways of the game. That\’s how it started, and the way we\’ve portrayed it, people get really mad at me for it. That\’s what you want. By being the seasoned vet who knows everything, that makes people mad at me. That\’s wrestling for you.\”

The Canadian legend had wanted to take Hook under his wing which the latter rejected. \’The Learning Tree\’ dethroned Hook and captured the FTW Championship. However, the veteran got \’Go-away heat\’ after the title win. On last week\’s Dynamite, Jericho retained his title against Katsuyori Shibata.

AEW star Big Bill has been trying to learn from the veteran star, who agreed on last week\’s Rampage. It has been announced that Chris Jericho will join forces with Big Bill on tonight\’s AEW Dynamite.

Jericho is not only enjoying his title run but he is also gearing up for an acting role in an upcoming action horror movie. Read more below:

  • NXT Ring Announcer Alicia Taylor Receives Main Roster Call-up

NXT ring announcer Alicia Taylor\’s hard work has paid off as she will soon take over her announcing duties on SmackDown.

Reports floated that Alicia Taylor would be called up to the main roster and NXT Creative Head Shawn Michaels recently took to X and confirmed the move. He said that Taylor is an \”irreplaceable part\” of NXT and acknowledged her for the \”countless unforgettable moments\” on the brand. HBK is delighted that \”she\’s bringing her endending passion\” to SmackDown. He thanked her for her valuable contributions and congratulated her on her next step.

Following last night\’s edition of NXT, on-air personnel, wrestlers and the broadcast team assembled to give a farewell to Taylor. Michaels also posted a video clip of the announcement being made to the NXT locker room about Taylor\’s main roster move.

Alicia Taylor has gained massive popularity for her unique announcing style. The 43-year-old has a heavy metal background which has a major influence on her voice. Taylor is also a drummer and has played drums for Kate Nash, Kelly Osbourne, Colton Dixon, Selena Gomez, and more.

Alicia Taylor signed with WWE in 2018 and has ever since been the lead announcer of NXT.  However, she has filled in on the main roster as per the requirements. Now, she has secured her move to the blue brand permanently.

As Alicia Taylor will announce for SmackDown, Mike Rome, who has enjoyed a lengthy tenure on the blue brand, will return to NXT. Meanwhile, Samantha Irvin will continue her duties on Raw. Taylor\’s move to the main roster has also scripted history as this marks the first time WWE main roster will feature two black women announcers.

  • Jey Uso On His Viral Entrance At WWE Backlash: \’I Felt Like Bray Wyatt Was Showing Love To Me\’

Jey Uso got \”emotional\” when the fans reminded him of late WWE star Bray Wyatt during his entrance at last Saturday\’s WWE Backlash: France Premium Live Event.

Jey\’s entrance is always a spectacle as thousands of fans groove and \’yeet\’ to his entrance song. Well, Backlash PLE in Lyon, France was no different. However, it was a bit more special as the fans showered love on him with Bray Wyatt-esque \’fireflies.\’

Speaking with Cathy Kelley in a Raw Exclusive, the former Bloodline member said that witnessing the fireflies, he felt that Wyatt showed him love from heaven and it was a touching moment for him. He further said that he is \”blessed\” to have experienced it. He said:

“It was dope, though. Seeing all the fireflies came out, I got real emotional. Ain’t had much [time] to talk about it. But a lot of people were asking me what it was from my point of view. I just felt like Bray Wyatt was showing love to me.

That’s the first time I’ve seen the fireflies appear, I feel like, since he’s been gone. So I was really emotional seeing all of that. For that to happen to me, I was blessed with that.\”

Jey Uso is eyeing to win KOTR

Things didn\’t go in favor of \’Main Event\’ Jey Uso at WWE Backlash: France. In a high-intensity bout, he came pretty close to dethroning Damian Priest. However, \’The Archer of Infamy\’ successfully retained his title after his stablemates, JD McDonagh and Finn Balor assisted him.

Now, he\’s got a new goal. On this week\’s edition of Raw, Drew McIntyre was pulled from his first-round match against Finn Balor as he was not medically cleared to compete. Raw General Manager Adam Pearce announced that Jey Uso would replace \’The Scottish Warrior.\’

After a gruesome battle, Jey Uso emerged victorious and qualified for the next round where he will face the former NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov.

  • Drew McIntyre Retaliates By Torching CM Punk\’s Autographed Photo

Drew McIntyre has had enough of CM Punk and has taken a shot back at his rival in unique style.

\’The Scottish Warrior\’ is losing his cool after consistently being at the end of multiple scathing promos from CM Punk. McIntyre left this week\’s Raw early but \’The Second City Savior\’ made a surprise appearance on the show a few moments later. He soon seized the opportunity to take jabs at the Scottish wrestler.

Drew McIntyre did not return to the show. However, he noted CM Punk\’s comments on him. Taking to his X account, the former WWE Champion took a shot back at Punk by setting the latter\’s autographed photo ablaze and throwing the ashes on the ground. This is the same photograph that McIntyre acquired last week on Raw.

Drew McIntyre was originally scheduled to face The Judgment Day\’s Finn Balor in the  King of The Ring tournament\’s first round. But, \’The Scottish Warrior\’, who injured his elbow at WrestleMania 40, was not medically cleared to compete. Raw GM Adam Pearce announced that his replacement would be Jey Uso, who went on to qualify for the next round.

    CM Punk-Drew McIntyre rivalry

The Chicago legend has been getting under the skin of McIntyre since WrestleMania 40 where he cost Drew McIntyre the World title as Damian Priest cashed in his Money In The Bank contract. The feud between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre is now intensifying every passing week. \’The Scottish Warrior\’ and \’The Second City Savior\’ have had several verbal exchanges in the past and they don\’t seem to stop anytime soon.

Punk has shown impressive recovery after undergoing tricep surgery but he is yet to be medically cleared. Both Punk and McIntyre are currently injured and it seems we will have to wait a little longer to witness them settle the matter in the ring.

  • Kevin Owens\’ WWE Contract Expires In 9 Months And He\’s Not Sure What Comes Next

Kevin Owens\’ current deal with WWE runs out in a matter of few months – nine months to be precise. The former World champion recently got fans\’ attention when he was not-committal about competing at future WrestleMania events. During an interview with Alistair McGeorge for Metro, Kevin Owens revealed  WWE contract expires in nine months, which puts us around late January/early February 2025. As things currently stand, he\’s not certain that he\’ll remain a WWE Superstar by WrestleMania 41.

\”I really don’t take anything for granted, I’ve nine months left on my contract, and I don’t know what can happen from here on out,\” Owens revealed.

    Unbreakable Bonds

As he faces this uncertainty, the Canadian grappler can\’t help but mourn the loss of the dear friends he\’s lost along the way, including Brodie Lee, Bray Wyatt, Jay Briscoe.

\”That’s just life,\” Owens said. \”If I’ve learned anything over the last few years, it’s that nothing is guaranteed. I’ve learned that through some very unfortunate events, we’ve lost so many good people that was never expected. That’s just one example of how I do not take anything for granted, how I look at things now.\”

Owens has been a part of the WWE roster for a decade. During that time, he\’s developed unbreakable bonds with his peers and has a hard time thinking about these people not being part of his life anymore.

\”This has been my home for 10 years and it’s beyond the locker room. There’s some very, very, very special people that work behind the scenes that I’ve become very close with, and I really can’t imagine not seeing them as part of my life.\”

Former AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman took notice of the possibility of Owens becoming a free agent next year.

KO teamed up with Randy Orton and faced The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga) in a losing effort at WWE Backlash: France this past weekend. The match featured the WWE debut of Tanga Loa, Tama\’s brother, who interfered and assisted The Bloodline to win.

There had been concerns regarding the contract renewal of a handful of top wrestlers. Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, and Finn Balor most recently inked new deals with WWE. • Cameron Grimes\’ First Appearance Announced Post-WWE Release

Former WWE wrestler Cameron Grimes (Trevor Lee) is returning to wrestling in July.

Grimes has a 90-day no-compete clause as he was released from WWE last month. On April 23, the former Million Dollar Champion posted an emotional video on social media and informed his fans that he was let go from the company. However, he is all set to make his first appearance after the release.

Elevation Pro Wrestling has announced on X that Cameron Grimes, who has switched back to his old ring name, Trevor Lee will be making an appearance at the promotion\’s Homecoming event on July 27.

Grimes was among the list of recently released wrestlers that included Jinder Mahal, Sanga, Veer Mahan, Xyon Quinn, Xia Li and Von Wagner. It also came to light that the former NXT North American Champion\’s release took the roster by surprise.

    Cameron Grimes\’ WWE career

Grimes had signed with WWE back in 2019 and had a successful run in the company\’s developmental brand, NXT. He soon captured the NXT North American title and also won the Million Dollar Championship. He received a main roster call-up in May last year but he had a lackluster run. After being part of last year\’s WWE Draft, Grimes joined SmackDown but was only featured a handful of times. His last match for the company took place on April 12 episode of SmackDown where he was squashed by Bron Breakker.

According to reports, many didn\’t see Grimes\’ release coming as his skill set transcended other wrestlers who were on the list. The 30-year-old wrestler was noted to be improving and was quite \’over\’ in NXT. Though he was not featured often on WWE TV, he was still a regular at the live events.

Cameron Grimes\’ WWE release surprised some in the company. He was disappointed, but not entirely surprised. The grappler from Cameron, North Carolina says he felt the writing was on the wall when he was given the \’To The Moon\’ crypto-investor gimmick in NXT.

  • CM Punk Got Stuck At WWE HQ After Getting Locked Inside A Bathroom During Backlash (Videos)

WWE Backlash: France Premium Live Event on Saturday was a successful event and it sent the fans back home happy. However, the same can\’t be said about CM Punk, who had a bizarre experience at the WWE Headquarters. The former WWE Champion was a panel member for the WWE Backlash Pre-show. Taking to Instagram, Punk dropped a string of amusing stories and revealed the adventures he had at WWE HQ.

CM Punk had an interesting weekend at WWE’s main office in Stamford, CT

\’The Second City Savior\’ was seen recording the clip inside the WWE gym. Following the pre-show, Punk went to the bathroom to change his suit. However, he got locked in. He revealed that when he came out, everybody was gone. The 45-year-old wrestler further revealed that he got locked in for a long time and had to miss his flight back home.

He posted another story in which Punk showed a door reading: \’Executive Wellness\’ and stated, \”that\’s sounds really fancy.\”

Leaving the gym, CM Punk said that he had to do \”some Phantom of the Opera type s**t\” and be \”Dante from Clerks\” before heading to the hall. He could be seen slapping the crotch of WWE legend Andre The Giant and this marked the end of the Instagram stories.

On Sunday, Punk provided another update. He’s still stuck at WWE headquarters and is thinking about sticking around for Monday’s WWE Raw from East Hartford, CT.

A similar incident also occurred recently when The Miz was stuck in a dressing room.

Punk is currently sidelined after sustaining a torn tricep injury during the 2024 Men\’s Royal Rumble match. After undergoing surgery, Punk is showing impressive recovery. He also dropped the cast after six weeks since going under the knife. The Chicago legend couldn\’t compete at WrestleMania 40 but lent his voice to the World Heavyweight Championship match between Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins. He played a pivotal role in Damian Priest\’s cashing in and costing Drew McIntyre the world title

\’The Scottish Warrior\’ and \’The Second City Savior\’ have had verbal exchanges which have been boiling their feud. While Punk gets ready for an in-ring return, McIntyre has continued to take personal shots at his rival on social media.

  • Austin Theory Wants To Face The Rock At WrestleMania 41, Calls Cody Rhodes \’Goof\’

Austin Theory is already chalking out massive plans for WrestleMania 41. He has not only put The Rock on notice for \’The Show of Shows\’ but also wants to dethrone the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.

Last year, during the September 15 edition of SmackDown, The Rock made his surprise one-off return and things didn\’t turn out too well for Theory.

Theory told Lucas Charpiot of Ten Count Media that he believes The Rock interrupted him to be important and famous again. He said that he got better of The Rock but the wrestling legend attacked him as he felt \”insecure.\”

“Dwayne showed up, but not to save Pat McAfee. Dwayne showed up because he wanted to be famous again, he wanted to be important in WWE. So who did he interrupt? Austin Theory. Then what happened? I put him in his place. Then I did something that nobody has ever done. I stole his catchphrase, and I hit him with it, and I hit him with it before he could hit me with it. So then what? He got insecure, he started freaking out. He started doing the weird Rock stuff. Then he hit me with an elbow. That’s what happened.”

He eventually stated if \’The Final Boss\’ wants to fight him, he is all set to lock horns with him at WrestleMania 41. He said:

“So what now? ‘The Final Boss’ wants Austin Theory, and Austin Theory will fight ‘The Final Boss’ at WrestleMania 41. Is that what they want?”

Theory takes a jab at Cody Rhodes

He furthermore took a shot at Cody Rhodes and labeled him \”goof.\” One half of the WWE Tag Team Champions said that he wants to dethrone \’The American Nightmare.\’ He said:

“I just gotta take this title from this goof [points to picture of Cody Rhodes]? Is that it? I just gotta make a story up? That’s it? Alright, then that’s what I’ll do.”

On this week\’s SmackDown, Austin Theory and Grayson Waller successfully defended their tag team titles against The Street Profits in their first televised title defense.

WWE is set to make a major announcement regarding next year\’s WrestleMania and many believe the location of the event will be revealed.

  • Matt Cardona Becomes The New GM of GCW

Matt Cardona is keeping himself busy in a non-wrestling capacity while recovering from a recent injury. He has announced himself as the new General Manager of Game Changer Wrestling (GCW).

The Indy God recently sustained a torn pec injury while competing for Reality of Wrestling last month. He has also undergone surgery and is not expected to return to in-ring action anytime soon.

Cardona kept his word and made a major announcement at GCW Rather You Than Me. He delivered a promo at the show and said that he might not wrestle at the promotion ever again. He said that fans don\’t need to call him the Internet Champion or Deathmatch King, but they will have to call him the \’General Manager of GCW.\’

Cardona made his GCW debut in 2021. He soon became the GCW World Champion (first in any promotion) after defeating Nick Gage in a Deathmatch. His last match for the promotion before injury took place in April at GCW Joey Janela\’s Spring Break 8 where he defeated Blue Pain.

While Cardona remains away from in-ring action, he has announced that he will still be available to make appearances and autograph signings. He is expected to be on the sidelines for at least six months and that depends on rehab.

A WWE return looming after recovery?

Matt\’s wife Chelsea Green made her return to WWE during the 2023 Women\’s Royal Rumble match and has been a part of the roster ever since. She has also enjoyed a tag team title reign. There have been speculation that Green\’s comeback could play a role in Cardona\’s return to WWE. Even the former WWE wrestler has told his fans to never say never regarding his return.

However, he has made it clear that his old gimmick \’Zack Ryder\’ is dead, and if he ever makes a return he won\’t be \”just another guy on the roster\”. Alongside the fans, Chelsea Green is expecting Cardona to make a return to WWE.

  • Randy Orton Shares Heartwarming Moment With WWE Fan At Vienna Event

Multi-time World Champion Randy Orton created a special memory for a fan who can cherish it for the rest of his life.

\’The Viper\’ recently competed at a WWE Live Event in Vienna, Austria. This marked WWE\’s return to the country for the first time since 2019. Following his match, one of the fans dropped his phone while recording. It was Orton himself who picked up the phone and started to record himself with the fans, who continued to cheer. The whole incident was recorded and it emerged on social media afterward.

During the show, Randy Orton teamed up with LA Knight to take on The Bloodline members, Tama Tonga and Solo Sikoa. The Bloodline has been a thorn in the sides of both Orton and Knight. However, things didn\’t go well in favor of the babyface team as they suffered a defeat. This marked Orton\’s first defeat at a live event in over two years. After the match, Sikoa and Tonga laid out Knight with a brutal assault. However, \’The Apex Predator\’ made the save by hitting the RKO on Tonga while \’The Megastar\’ hit Sikoa with BFT.

    Randy Orton set for Backlash

\’The Viper\’ will once again compete in a tag-team match at this Saturday\’s Backlash Premium Live Event that will take place in France. However, Kevin Owens will be his tag team partner at the show. Orton and Owens have recently formed an ally. Though they competed in a triple threat match for Logan Paul\’s US title at WrestleMania 40, the duo has been on great terms.

A few weeks back, KO was on the end of a bloody ambush from Tama Tonga and \’The Prizefighter\’ is now seeking revenge. He will have Orton by his side to even the odds. Kevin Owens and Randy Orton have dealt with The Bloodline in the past and they will once again team up to settle the matter.

  • Cody Rhodes Says AJ Styles Title Defense At WWE Backlash Is More Than Must-Win: It\’s \”Must Dominate\”

WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes has only one goal in mind heading into the title defense against AJ Styles at Saturday\’s Backlash Premium Live Event.

Rhodes finally finished his story at last month\’s WrestleMania 40 when he put an end to Roman Reigns\’ historic 1,316-day reign. Now, he has a lot to prove as a champion.  Speaking on Cheat Heat with Peter Rosenberg, \’The American Nightmare\’ made it clear that the upcoming match against AJ Styles is not only a \’must-win\’ for him but he also \’must dominate.\’ He said:

“I told AJ Styles, this is a dream match for some people, sure. To me, it’s a legit must win. Not just must win, but must dominate. Must show something.\”

Cody wants to let everyone know that he has a lot in store for the fans. He wants to bring out his full potential and this title run is his opportunity to \”validate\” it. The 38-year-old champion further stated that he is never content and believes that\’s the mindset of successful people. Cody Rhodes said:

\”I’d like to let people know there is so much more meat on the bone. There is so much more to me and this run is the chance to validate it.
It’s the mindset of ‘you’re never doing enough. Have to keep going.’ Everyone I know who is successful has that mindset and that’s where I’m at.”

Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles\’ first showdown

AJ Styles earned the title shot after defeating LA Knight on April 19 edition of SmackDown. \’The Phenomenal One\’ had been in pursuit of the WWE Undisputed Championship for a long time now. He had been in a feud with Roman Reigns but failed to dethrone \’The Tribal Chief.\’ Now, he has yet another shot at the title.

Rhodes and Styles have had illustrious careers across multiple promotions but they never crossed paths. This match will mark the first time they will go head-to-head in the squared circle. On that note, Styles did face WWE legend and Cody\’s father, Dusty Rhodes in TNA Wrestling. Styles successfully defended his NWA World Heavyweight title that night and he\’ll hope for a similar outcome this Saturday at WWE Backlash France. However, it won\’t be an easy task as Cody Rhodes has some long-term plans as the champion.

Catch WWE Backlash 2024 from LDLC Arena in Décines-Charpieu, Lyon Metropolis, France at 1 p.m. ET. The countdown show will air live prior at noon ET.
