  • WALTER Talks Not Being Invested In His Match At Survivor Series Last Year

NXT UK Champion WALTER gave some interesting comments to Metro UK in a recent interview where he discussed his match at Survivor Series last year.

This was a Team Smackdown vs. Team RAW vs. Team NXT match from Survivor Series 2019, which had 15 Superstars.

According to WALTER, he wasn’t invested in the match and didn’t care about it. In fact, he thought the dynamic of the contest was weird.

“I wasn’t invested in that. I didn’t care. I care about my guys, my group, I care about the sport, but I don’t care about all those people being angry each other. It was a weird match too – three five-men tag teams, and always three guys in the ring.

That’s when wrestling turns from competition to putting acrobats in a circus to do a show. There’s 15 of you, you’ve got to do something.”

Team RAW featured Seth Rollins, Randy Orton, Ricochet, Kevin Owens, Drew McIntyre while SmackDown had Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Shorty G, Ali and King Corbin, and NXT involved Tommaso Ciampa, Damian Priest, Matt Riddle, Keith Lee, WALTER.

Team SmackDown won the contest. The final three were Reigns, Rollins, and Lee with Reigns edging out Lee in the end to win.

  • Seth Rollins & Buddy Murphy Win WWE RAW Tag Team Titles

The Viking Raiders didn’t stay on top of the tag team division on WWE RAW for long as their reign as champions is over while it’s now the time for Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy.

Rollins and Murphy beat Ivar and Erik to win the WWE RAW Tag Team Titles on Monday’s episode of RAW in Wichita, KS at the Intrust Bank Arena on the USA Network. This marks the first time that they have held the titles together.

The Viking Raiders had won the RAW Tag Team Titles back on the October 14th episode of RAW when they beat Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler in Denver, Colorado at the Pepsi Center.

Murphy’s alliance with Rollins started last week when Murphy helped AOP (Akam & Rezar) & Rollins defeat Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe & The Big Show in a fist fight that served as the headliners.

WWE set up this championship match earlier in the night during the opening segment where the former champions aligned themselves with Joe and Owens while exchanging words with the heels to further their storyline.

  • Cain Velasquez Discusses If Conor McGregor Would Be Good Fit In WWE

Cain Velasquez gave his take about the possibility of former UFC Lightweight and Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor competing in the squared circle under the WWE banner.

The former UFC Heavyweight Champion is someone who would know about making the transition from MMA to WWE.

“I think he’d be well suited because of his promos,” Velasquez told BT Sport. “That’s probably the hardest part and he nails that. And he’s just a great athlete so he can definitely do it, yeah!”

Last year, McGregor was teasing about going to the company with many people thinking it was a negotiation tactic on his part for his next fight in the UFC.

McGregor just beat former title contender Donald Cerrone by TKO in the headliner of the UFC 246 pay-per-view event on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In his final UFC bout, Velasquez lost to former title contender Francis Ngannou by first-round KO. The two fighters met in a heavyweight bout at the UFC on ESPN 1 event from the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona on February 17, 2019.

Velasquez found his passion with pro wrestling once he started training and made his in-ring debut last year under the AAA banner.

Cena plays an upbeat polar bear in the film, which also stars Robert Downey Jr, Jessie Buckley, Harry Collett, Rami Malek, Octavia Spencer, Kumail Nanjiani, Emma, Thompson, Antonio Banderas, Michael Sheen, and Oscar winner Jim Broadbent.

  • Finn Balor Hints At Possible Royal Rumble Match Entry

Finn Balor got people talking after an interesting response to one WWE star on social media.

The former WWE NXT Champion posted a random photo on Twitter which got Curt Hawkins to respond by noting how much he missed him. Balor then replied with, “Se3 y0u Sunday.”

Because Balor replaced the second \”e\” in \”See\” with a 3 and the \”o\” in \”you\” with a 0, this made fans think that he was teasing a potential entry into the Men’s Royal Rumble Match at the #30 spot. You can see his tweets here:

WWE presents the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event on Sunday, January 26, 2020 Houston, Texas at the Minute Maid Park and airs on the WWE Network.

It should be noted that WWE has yet to confirm whether NXT will have any involvement in the Men’s and/or Women’s Royal Rumble matches.

What is known is the fact that Balor will be working a WWE show on Royal Rumble weekend.

Balor will battle Ilja Dragunov in a singles match at the Worlds Collide show that goes down on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

Possible Names That Could Return At WWE Royal Rumble

  • Braun Strowman Is “Willing & Ready” For Possible Bray Wyatt Match

Braun Strowman is excited about a potential showdown against WWE Universal Champion Bray Wyatt.

Strowman recently did an interview with DallasNews.com where he spoke about a wide range of topics including a potential match against Wyatt.

This was where he was asked about Wyatt\’s transformation into The Fiend. Strowman noted how it’s been a pretty awesome process to watch Bray and what he\’s been able to accomplish.

He stated that he loves Bray and The Fiend thing is getting a little out of control. Thus, he wouldn\’t mind having a shot at him one of these days and seeing what can happen,

\”You never know,\” Strowman said of a potential match. \”There\’s a lot of backstory and history between us being that Bray Wyatt is pretty much the sole reason that \’The Monster Among Men\’ is what he is today, bringing him in with the Wyatt family, and him being my mentor, my sensei.

Sometimes the student has to one day show the sensei who the boss is. Whenever he\’s ready to step into the squared circle with me, I\’m more than willing and ready.\”

Strowman was introduced to fans on the main roster when he was added to The Wyatt Family that included Wyatt, Luke Harper, and Erick Rowan years ago.

With the two stars being on the same brand – Friday Night SmackDown – it’s possible that their paths will cross one day.

Perhaps, it could happen sooner rather than later as Strowman will compete in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match when WWE presents the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event this Sunday with the winner being able to challenge for the top title on their brand at WrestleMania 36.

  • Kurt Angle Names Who Would Be On His Wrestling Mount Rushmore

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle spoke to The Sun where he talked about a wide range of topics including who he would put on his Mt. Rushmore of Wrestling.

Just like with who is the GOAT (greatest of all-time) in wrestling, it’s an opinionated take as most people have a different list.

Kurt Angle Names Wrestling Mount Rushmore

At first, Angle named WWE Champion Brock Lesnar as someone he would put on the list but then changed his mind because he feels like this topic brings a discussion about the overall entertainment. He pointed out that someone on this list would wow fans with the way that they present their characters.

Angle would then name the likes of WWE Hall of Famers Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair.

“A guy like Shawn Michaels would be on the Mount Rushmore, Ric Flair would be on Mount Rushmore. I don’t see Brock as an overall athlete that would be up there. But don’t get me wrong, what he does in the ring, no-one does better.”

Angle added how the final two names he would put on the list are Steve Austin and The Rock. He also wouldn’t put himself on the list because that’s just not who he is.

Kurt Angle – “I believe That Vince McMahon Wanted Me To Go Another Year”

Do you agree with Kurt Angle’s list?

  • Former WWE Champion Expected At Royal Rumble

WWE is getting closer to the Royal Rumble and fans are expecting some surprises in both Men’s and Women’s Royal Rumble matches.

Pwinsider.com reports that former WWE Champion Kane is slated to be at this Sunday\’s Royal Rumble PPV. Although Kane has not been announced for the Rumble match, the site speculated that Kane set up his appearance at the show during his most recent return on WWE television.

Royal Rumble: Former WWE Champion Expected

Kane appeared on Friday Night SmackDown this week on FOX in Greensboro, NC at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex where he brought up the history between Kane and The Fiend. This led to The Fiend coming out from out of the ring and Daniel Bryan took out The Fiend.

The promo was largely putting over that he maintains the record for the most eliminations in Rumble match history.

There are 9 open spots for the contest. WWE is expected to announce more stars for this contest this week. The following names have been announced thus far:

Brock Lesnar in the #1 spot, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre, Ricochet, Rey Mysterio, AJ Styles, Erick Rowan, King Baron Corbin, Dolph Ziggler, Otis, Tucker, Elias, Aleister Black, Buddy Murphy, Rusev, Bobby Lashley, R-Truth, Braun Strowman, WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro.

  • Roman Reigns Teases Goldberg Over His Pre-Match Ritual

Roman Reigns teased Goldberg through the power of social media.

It all started when a fan asked Reigns on Twitter about a small, black pad that\’s placed on the stage during his entrance. It turns out that Reigns does his signature fist pound to the floor that sees his fist hit the pad.

    Roman Reigns Teases Goldberg

Reigns responded to the fan by noting that he does it so he doesn\’t break his hand.

\”Nothing to explain, Nick. It\’s a little piece of pad,\” Reigns wrote. \”So I don\’t break my hand on steel grate. I gotta perform like 48 weeks a year man. So that would be stupid. It would be like [thinking emoji] head butting a door before my match level of stupid. Anyway, have a good day, Nick.\”

Regarding Reigns\’ \”head butting a door\” reference, this was a nod to Goldberg\’s pre-match ritual before his matches.

It turns out that this became a bit of an issue during Goldberg\’s 2016-2017 run in WWE. He has since revealed in interviews that he would knock himself silly on the door before going out to a cut a promo where he would forget his lines in the process.

Goldberg spoke about what happened that night during an interview in 2017 on the podcast hosted by Edge and Christian:

\”How about when I knocked myself out on the door? Did you hear that one? You didn\’t hear that one? I did that, I don\’t know, a month ago. My way of getting ready, you know me, man. They knock on my door, I pour water on my head, so I don\’t catch on fire from the sparks, and I headbutt the door. I\’m a neanderthal. That\’s what I do, right? I\’m walking to the ring, and I go through Gorilla, and then, I get in the ring, man, and I literally forgot every single thing that I was supposed to say.”

Reigns and Goldberg have never had a one-on-one bout against each other. The closest that fans came to see this was when they competed in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match in 2017 from the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

  • Paige Names Current Champion At Top Of Her List Of Dream WWE Opponents

Paige has named the person that she would want to wrestle should she be medically cleared for in-ring action.

The speculation of her making a potential comeback started when she fueled speculation as she believed her glory days were far from over. Paige did so by posting the following on her official Twitter account earlier this month.

\”I get told that my glory days are over with my career & that I\’m a \’slut\’ [because] of the crap that got released about me,\” Paige wrote on Twitter. \”Just know again. people make mistakes when they\’re young. I\’m not that person. Also my glory days are far from over. I have a whole a lot of career left in me. 2020 will be a good year for me.\”

    Paige Names Opponents

Fast forward a few weeks later, Paige talked with Daily Mail Online where she named WWE RAW Women\’s Champion Becky Lynch as a talent that would be at the top of her list as someone she would want to face.

It should be noted that she also mentioned NXT Women\’s Champion Rhea Ripley and Candice LeRae as other dream opponents.

\”You\’d want to face the top person in the company and obviously that would be Becky [Lynch], so I\’d want to face her,\” Paige responded. \”There\’s so many. I\’d want to face Rhea Ripley. I\’d want to face Candice [LeRae]. All the Four Horsewomen. I\’d want to face everyone, bring them all on.\”

The former WWE Divas Champion and SmackDown General Manager has spinal stenosis, which has kept her from not being medically cleared by WWE doctors to wrestle again.

Whether she works another match remains to be seen. Previously, WWE hasn\’t cleared a talent to make a return to the ring with such an injury but she could be the first.

Kane, real name Glenn Jacobs, is the Mayor of Knox County in Tennessee.

His previous appearance on WWE television came when he appeared on the September 16, 2019 episode of Monday Night RAW in Knoxville, Tennessee at the Thompson-Boling Arena.

This was where he won the WWE 24/7 Title and briefly held it until he dropped the championship back to R-Truth. Fast forward to the main event, Seth Rollins was battling Robert Roode in a singles match.

Once The OC (AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows) ran down to attack him, Kane, dressed in his wrestling attire, came down to make the save. This led to Bray Wyatt appearing and putting Kane down.

He was last seen in action when he competed at the WWE Crown Jewel event last November in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the King Saud University Stadium that aired on the WWE Network.

Kane and The Undertaker lost to Triple H and Shawn Michaels in a tag team match at the Crown Jewel show. Since then, he has put his focus on his political career.

Kane made an appearance on WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s WWE Network show, “Steve Austin: The Broken Skull Sessions” earlier this month.

  • Kurt Angle Offers High Praise To Tyson Fury Over His WWE Debut

Kurt Angle has offered some high praise to top heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury for not what he has done in the boxing ring but inside of the squared circle.

Angle did so when he did an interview with Seconds Out where he spoke about Fury. Obviously, Angle went from being an Olympic medal-winning amateur wrestler to a Hall of Fame pro wrestler.

Kurt Angle Offers Praise To Tyson Fury

Thus, Angle can understand what Fury went through as Fury transitioned from one sport to another. According to Kurt Angle, he thinks Fury did a great job and even offered him a rating for his performance.

Angle stated, \”I think Tyson did a really good job, I would say he nailed a 10. He got through the match. He wasn\’t a professional wrestler by any means but he adapted well. I don\’t think he expected more than he gave and I don\’t think the company expected more than he gave.\”

Fury beat Braun Strowman by count-out in October at the WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This marked his in-ring debut.

Since then, Fury has talked about wanting to do another match. It’s been reported that this possibility will have to wait until after his next fight, which will see him take on Deontay Wilder for the second time in February.
