AJ Styles says he had doubts about Dominik Mysterio when he first arrived in WWE, but now believes the younger Mysterio “blows everybody away” with his character work.
Styles made the comments on The Phenomenally Retro Podcast.
“He grew that mustache out and freaking rocking the mullet. Does it better than anybody. His character development and everything that he’s put into it, it works. I’ve said this before. When he first got there, I was like, ‘Oh, I don’t know. I don’t know.’ Then he just blows everybody away. Once he turned on his dad, he turned it all the way up and hasn’t looked back since.”
Dominik turned on his father, Rey Mysterio, in August 2023 to join The Judgment Day, a move that transformed him from a polarizing babyface into one of WWE’s most effective heels.
