Road Dogg is expected to attend TNA Slammiversary this Sunday, with sources telling PWInsider that there is talk of him coming in — though TNA has been trying to keep his involvement quiet.
Dogg was initially pitched as a potential producer role, but following Tommy Dreamer’s departure from the creative team, some within the company believe he could step into the creative circle instead. One source noted that Dogg has a close relationship with Johnny Russo, the head writer for NXT, meaning his involvement would also benefit the existing NXT-TNA partnership.
Dogg left WWE earlier this year after serving as co-lead writer of SmackDown, citing a fast-paced creative environment and a desire to spend more time with his family. He is believed to be operating under a WWE Legends deal that permits occasional outside appearances.
Dreamer, who had served as a producer, creative team member, on-screen authority figure, and wrestler in TNA since 2018, announced his departure from the company on Busted Open Radio earlier this week following a conversation with TNA President Carlos Silva. He described the split as mutual and without bad blood.
