Piper Niven recently told fans not to count her out, even as she acknowledges the very real possibility that she may never wrestle again.
The Scottish superstar responded directly to a fan who feared her in-ring career could be over following her neck surgery.
The reply came on X, where Niven pushed back on the retirement narrative while staying honest about how long her road back could be. She made clear that a full recovery will take time, and that returning to the ring is not guaranteed.
Niven wrote the response after a fan reacted to her recent stream.
“Don’t count me out just yet chick, just letting people know that it will be a long time and maybe possibly not at all so we don’t have to answer the same question 50 times a stream ? x,” Niven wrote.
The Fan Message That Prompted The Response
The exchange started when a fan watched Niven’s stream and shared an emotional thank-you message. The post referenced both her Slaygent and Doudrop personas while expressing concern she might not be able to wrestle again.
“After watching Piper’s stream yesterday and knowing she potentially can’t wrestle again, I just want to say thank you piper for being the amazing human being you are and the years of kindness you have shown! Slaygent & Doudrop will live on?? cheers to the memories @PiperNivenWWE,” the fan wrote.
Where Niven’s Recovery Stands
Niven has been away from WWE television since August last year, when she last wrestled Charlotte Flair on SmackDown in Dublin. She recently revealed she underwent neck surgery in California, joking about having an anterior discectomy, a procedure involving the removal of a damaged disc in the neck.
She also admitted the past eight months had been filled with pain and heartbreak, but said she woke up from surgery already feeling better. Her earlier comments offered an unfortunate update on the injury and the uncertainty surrounding her timeline.
The latest message clarifies things without fully answering what comes next. Niven is not announcing retirement, but she is also not pretending this is a quick recovery, leaving her WWE future uncertain for now.
