WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross recently discussed Kofi Kingston’s WWE career and predicted his future.
During an episode of his Grilling JR podcast with Conrad Thompson, the AEW commentator reflected on his involvement in bringing Kingston to WWE and shared his thoughts on the wrestler’s future.
Ross confirmed his role in signing Kingston during his tenure overseeing WWE talent relations in the mid-2000s. Kingston debuted on the main roster in 2008 and went on to become one of WWE’s most decorated performers, capturing the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35 in 2019.
“I think I was involved in the process. Kofi was such a lovable, likable guy, talented as hell. You know, he’s now known for his spots in the Royal Rumble match, the spots where his both feet aren’t touching the floor type thing. But yeah, if he was hired during my tenure, damn right I was involved. I was involved in all of them. I had to do their contracts. I had to talk to them about their pay and any other little issue they may have.”
Ross then predicted Kofi’s future.
“But Kofi has always been a great team player. He will not be out of work long. You put that way.”
